Lydia hadn't really considered the full consequences of the choice she was considering. She blinked up at Raven, startled, before the reality of it sank in, and all of a sudden it was too hot in the room. Her eyes stung, her pulse was too loud, and anxiety was rolling up in crushing wave. The fingers that clutched at the blanket in her lap began to tremble as the first hot tear rolled down the apple of her cheek, and her next breath was too high, too fast.
What was she going to do?
It was already a hard choice, knowing she'd have to walk away from the court and the people she had come to care about, but somehow she'd thought she'd still know them, maintain those connections, at least with those that wouldn't hate her for the choice.
Suddenly she was reaching out, grabbing for the blonde to pull desperately at her. "I forgot." She was crying again. "I forgot what could happen" The trembling grew to all out shaking as she clung to her friend.
They didn't even know if it would work, if she even
could be purified. No one else had tried it.
After a moment she pulled her head from Raven's shoulder, blinking tears out of her eyes as she stared out into the room. Comments returned to her, little things here and there, and she chewed on the words that formed on her tongue, not sure if she should say them, but in the end the slipped out. Soft and unsure. "You could come with me..."
