"Well, there's Denver." There might have been a touch of smugness to the Mist's smile. Whatever annoyance Ever had arrived with was now gone, and Zeke was going to take credit for that.

"Not as big as New York, but big enough. I don't imagine it'd be hard to find a hotel close to wherever the portal spits us out." The hand not currently massaging fingertips along the other man's scalp drifted down to run the back of his knuckled against the pale line of his jaw. "We'll be able to get you a computer pretty easily, and there's any number of other things there to occupy our time." Pale eyes narrowed, just a touch, as that grin widened.

"Today, soon." Maybe not right that moment. Zeke made no move to leave Ever's lap. In fact, if anything, he settled more comfortably. It wasn't a position he had any experience with, but it did make him taller, for once, and he shifted his hands to cup along the edges of the taller man's jaw, fingers still kneading along his scalp.

A thumb tucked under his chin tipped his head up, and he leaned in, catching pale lips. Like Ever, not pushing, just a soft press of his mouth against the Life's. As fun as it might have been to get distracted, Zeke was on a mission to get off the island.

"You should definitely go pack." The kneading slowed, drifting down to his shoulders.

Another first. Ezekiel swore as everything flipped, utterly startled by the almost casual ease with which Ever tossed him up on his shoulder. They were considerably stronger than normal humans, but he didn't often think about it, because that was the norm. Now he was being reminded. Like their spar; a small peak into just how willing Ever was as a partner. Zeke could have taken it as a threat to the dynamic they'd established between them. Instead he appreciated it, that willingness, and maybe it was even a little bit of a challenge.

Hands pressed into Ever's hips as he pushed himself up, and he stared that pale profile, watching amusement soft his features. "Are you packing me?" He didn't sound mad. Amused, startled, but not mad.

"I do need to pack a bag," he reminded Ever, grunting at the poke of that bony shoulder into his gut as he shrugged. "A tee-shirts not going to cut it in Denver." As he spoke one hand lifted from the Life's waist and lifted the edge of his shirt to trace fingers over pale skin. "Unless we're just taking little break first?"

Zeke wasn't in the habit of turning down a good time, especially not when it included Ever. He was eager to get away from Deus for a couple of days, but...
