“Ease up on the poor little guy Keke, you might kill him.” Maybe she ought to have given some sort of 01 on creatures before. Poor Olrawk looked like it was getting its life squeezed out of it. But even as Keke said he was being gentle the poor thing seemed to breathe it’s last breath and completely collapse in his hands. “I’m sorry Keke, you have to be gentle with those things.” Poor Keke, Esmeralda really felt bad for him. “I don’t think it is…” She said quietly, wondering what they should do with it now. Minerva had never had any pets before….
Rubbing the back of her neck, Esme looked around and pointed to the trees with her chin. “How about we bury him so nothing eats him?” A burial seemed to be the proper thing to do in this case, but again she didn’t know if Khehora ate Olrawks so maybe Keke would want to eat it. Which would be really odd, but she wasn’t a Khehora so she couldn’t judge. She was more than happy when it actually was only playing dead and it dlew back up and as far from the duo as possible. “Well look at that…” Esmeralda put her hands on her hips.

“I'm not in trouble, yes?” Keke asked, his posture guilty and contrite, “I'll be more gentle next time, I promise...” He looked towards where it had flown to, the Olrawk itself long out of sight. “Should we follow it, Scholar Esmeralda?” he asked, a hint of a 'cheep' entering his voice.

“Don’t worry, you’re not in trouble. Not from me anyway.” Esme was pretty sure he’d have eaten the thing anyway, maybe they would have even cooked it or something. She wasn’t really too familiar with cooking creatures, she was more used to the stuff the merchants sold back in the Celestial Plane and even then she kept very close to a diet that was without meat. “No, it’ll probably just fly away again when it sees us. It’s probably quite angry with you.” Esmeralda laughed, it was pretty funny when you thought about it. The Olrawk had been quite smart in its attempt to get away.

“Oh...” Keke felt a little bad. “I'm sorry.” he hung his head, abashed, before perking up again, his green eyes hopeful. “Well, what are you going to teach me next?”

“Well I think that was a good lesson for you in itself, don’t you think?” Plus, while she enjoyed speaking with Keke’s young mind she still had to get going. “I’m afraid I can’t stay much longer, I need to meet with someone.” Esme stood up and gave one last look in the direction the creature. “ I am sorry to leave like this, though I am sure our paths will meet again. I bid you well.” And with that she waved a bit at him and offered a smile before disappearing into the canopy of leaves. She really did hate leaving him but she had to get t that meeting.
