The white tail swooped rounds around the demon’s when it came in contact, as was the usual habit. In the milliseconds of thinking over what West had said, Levi’s brain had ripped her away from awing over the chasm below and into the larger spectrum of their current situation. She brought down her temporary iron cast visor and rested the hand that held it at her hip with a furrowed brow. Ya’know, yer right. The ghoul nodded in recognition when Uncle Tel had brought up a second concern in tandem with West’s observation.

Tel and West had both brought up good points: if they didn’t see any humans nearby, who were they planning on scaring? FEAR was a pretty important part of their equation here and without that- Well, we’d best be gettin’ on with’it then. The ghoul turned away from the gorge, resetting her mind to fixate on how they were going to find some humans here. Sooner we find some place more open, sooner we’ll find ‘em, I’d reckon. Ain't gonna move none a'their wagons in this without roads 'er somethin'. They ain't got no wings 'er tails fer gettin'round. First things first? What do we do about being in the middle of nowhere without a soul to be seen? Humming in thought, Levi decidedly hung her pan back up to the side of her sac and looked back to West for signs of ideas. In doing so, the sound of the rushing water once again caused her to smile, features lightening.

So-what we need first's’a way down, right? The ghoul’s eyes darted from one demon to the other.

She was very much willing; the thrill of the fall would be the perfect thing to get her riled up and ready for whatever distance they’d be wandering around afterwards. However, there was the issue of West’s luggage in particular. Levi was quite certain he wouldn’t be carrying anything remotely close to what she’d deem okay to dunk into a possibly moss, goo or jelly-bottomed pool. No variation of mending or cleaning would possibly do justice to one of his fancypants shirts and she knew it. The luggage didn’t exactly look waterfall-proof as if her own was either; Levi didn't want all his expensive attire laid out across the human world forest. Who knew what sort of excrement the wildlife here might have. Perhaps another method of decent would be more suitable- but what? The tatzel just wound up listening to the crushing force of the water through her thought process, coming back to her original methodology: it would be the biggest rush.

He might not have been able to see inside her mind, but West liked to think he knew all of the ways Levi broadcast her own mischievous thoughts, if only because he was always looking to encourage them. This particular notion took him a moment to puzzle out, because: one, he was wearing what was a near-casual outfit for him—though it was pretty fancy for most everyone else—and two, he was carting around some fairly heavy and expensive luggage.

His gaze followed hers with interest as soon as she perked up, down into the gully then back up to him, her eyes filled with a questioning challenge. She wanted to jump. West's grin spread as slow as a grinch's, his brain going down a number of paths that all ended in Telefsen.

"We'll be righ' back, 'kay?" He was already kicking off his boots.

Tel, on the other hand, had no reason to regularly stare at his nephew's ghoulfriend's face, and as such knew nothing about her expressions. He registered mischief in West's eyes easily enough, but the words that came out of the younger demon's mouth coupled with his actions were still a mystery.

"Excuse me?"

"We're gonna jump. Y'need t'watch th' luggage an' my clothes." The boots were off now, as was his vest, and he started in on his pants as he tried to explain.

"It's th' fastest way, right? We jus'... jump down there'n see if we can find a lodge'r somethin', somewhere we can bring everythin'. I'll fly up fer you when we know where we're goin' and..." He bent his arms like he was picking up phantom bags, his pants sagging at the waist when he let them go. Thankfully, he was wearing boxers today. "That sound good?" This he asked of Levi, his face bright with amusement. It might not have been her exact plan, but it was in the maceball park.

"It won't be nothin'. I bet I could carry you flyin' these days."

Don’t yew be goin’ in b’fore me now! West was already ahead of the game and Levi now found herself in a rush to catch up to him. When the boots came off, by Jack, she swore she’d have everything off by the time he’d put them down.

At the verbal affirmation of West informing Tel about their plan, the ghoul cackled. Kekeke~ Listening to it as it was being forwarded, the tatzel felt a sense of pride knowing that her boilfriend had masterfully read her correctly. Indeed, the younger wrath demon had gotten good at ear-and-tail signals since that one scarentines day. This, along with West’s own wide grin caused her to beam and undress with irresponsible haste.

The ear cuff was off, the belt went slipping out of its denim loops and Levi just looked from one demon to the other while West looked to her for confirmation of their plunge and pick-up of their gracious relative. If yew say so, boil. I don’t doubt yew none ‘bout lil’ ol’ me. Her nodding was followed by a cheeky shrug with this statement as if to note that, yes, this Levi could be picked up. Her natural form would be another challenge for him one day; one day, he’d get there. The ghoul’s level of trust with West knew no bounds. Okay, maybe not with her pack and other luggage though. Might be a bit much ta ask this’a him though, aye? The ghoul tried to sound the least ageist she could. Certainly, that wasn’t her aim; Tel would want to dive with them, right? Maybe, if he was anything like his nephew, he wouldn’t want to be stuck up there with the stuff while they had all the adventure. Yeah, I can come on back n’ help, o’course too- but if it don’t sit right with yew, Uncle Tel…

Uncle Tel. Ah, shoot!

Catching herself, thumbs flanked inward at the sides of her jean shorts, gearing to drop apparel, Levi retracted her hands. Her new demon kin likely wouldn’t be accustomed to her physical freedoms. This was something she’d come to know well with West, Lizzy and Xiu alike. Demons of the fancier sort liked to keep clothed in all sorts of situations, including at the watering hole. Instead, the ghoul opted to cross her arms at the bottom seam of her tank top to pull it over her head. Luckily, Levi had worn a bra today.

Don’t want ta put yew out none, sir. The use of formality would show the seriousness of her concern for sure. Levi unknowingly looked to her Uncle with a sort of pleading. The tatzel, upon realizing, tried to adjust this with a more stern expression, as to not come off as ungrateful. Ultimately, it became a sort of pouty face which didn’t help her cause at all.

As wild as he was in comparison to his sister and as much of a screw up as he could be when he wasn't thinking, Telefsen had still been raised to give a good impression. Such behavior tended to emerge when other creeple had embraced their crazy, as if by countering it with condescending calm, he might push them into embarrassed anger. Even though he was tempted, this was Westus standing in front of him, cheerily stripping as he chattered about impromptu cliff diving. Tel was more proud than scheming. The haughty eyebrow and upright posture only lasted a moment, replaced by a more standard grin-and-slouch combination.

"I would be happy to watch the luggage, lovely Miss Levi." So amused was Tel that he didn't even ogle inappropriately. "I'll just be here admiring the scenery. When you find a place to put our stuff, West can come back and get me." He reached out and rolled his nephew's fancy suitcase closer, wrapping his tail around it as he sat. The rocky ground kept the hard-sided case from rolling, which was probably for the best. Now was not the time to look like an idiot, not when he was projecting such a successful "cool authority figure" vibe.

He made a shooing motion with his hands. "Go on. Wreak your havoc." He needed a rest anyway.

Once he'd received the all-clear, there was only the briefest of pauses before West's pants were off and tossed over Telefsen's bag, since his own was otherwise occupied. The shirt took longer. Far longer. It took so long that any hope that Levi might have had that this would be a race for nudity was probably killed in the interim.

"Good uncle," he quipped, nearly reaching to pat the older demon between his horns but opting not to at the last second. "Try not t'make any contracts while we're gone." West gave him a look that must have meant something because after a parting smirk, Tel turned his attention to the human world scenery, allowing West to remove his shirt without scrutiny.

He faced Levi once he was done. "Tatzels first."

Thank yew kindly, Uncle Tel! That was good; the tatzel's features all softened with the demon's permissions granted. Let alone the lovely Miss title he'd given her which made her feel like a jackdanged royal or something. It felt like something she ate was still alive in her gut and bounced around merrily trying to escape. A sort of goofy smile and snort came out as her response.

Down to her demon-friendly essentials, Levi indeed found that she'd beaten the boil to the goal, placing her clothing pile on top of the sac. Pride now fully in overdrive, Levi stood triumphantly with her back to the falls and answered her young companion. Me? Her hand came up to her chest and her head cocked slightly. The ghoul acted as if there was another tatzelwurm to choose from in the immediate area but she'd been specifically selected. Sure. Now both hands folded behind her back, rustling water driving a misty film against her tail which slinked closer and closer to West along the ground. He'd seen this sort of smirk from her many times before, especially when they sparred. West would soon discover why it was showing itself now.

-and yer comin' with me!

The white appendage shot out around the wrath demon's left leg, coiling lightly around his calf. Levi's hands took hold, grabbing West's in a good sturdy clutch and yanked his body forward towards hers, elbows giving way to allow West to take over her spot, intent on bringing them both over the edge at once while she had the element of surprise. Feet and tail providing enough of a jolt to force her off the cliff, the ghoul wanted to make sure he was coming down as well and she could watch his expression fully while they did. It would be a rush to see things through West's eyes and she kept her hold on his hands so the gust of wind that seemed to come from all directions on the way down wouldn't be able to blow them apart. Her tail provided enough of an anchor for them to keep horizontal so she could look up and see the demon's fall and the growing cliff behind him. At some point, when they could no longer be seen at the peak of the cliff, her bubbly call could be heard echoing down the length of the water pillar:

YEEHAAAAAAAWWAAWW

Awaiting the impending crash into the surface of the water via West's reactions, Levi made one mental note: next time she dove off back-first, she'd tie her hair back completely. The vortex of white hair fumbled around in her view like webbing. Thankfully, it moved around quickly enough that neither of them got whipped in the face. More like added wisps of mist, providing a precursing chill to the pool below. It was summer, but with all the shade of the greenery and mountains, this water was going to be a very refreshing dip indeed.

Her expression brought his guard up, though it was a good, anticipatory feeling rather than one that forecasted imminent danger. He might have been well acquainted with the antics that usually followed a smirk like that, but this time West still couldn't quite pinpoint what his surprise might be, even when it should have been glaringly obvious. His face was the picture of comedy when she yanked him forward, and Levi had front row seats to the show.

The demon's eyes went wide, black sclera appearing to nearly swallow acid green irises, and the breathy little hngh he let out as they tipped over the edge was rather cute in a fatalistic sort of way. Unfortunately for the tatzel, West's shock didn't last. He grinned immediately after, looking past her whipping hair as if this was the best thing he had seen all day because... it was. Better than the portal that got them here, better than the human sun, better than his uncle acting more like himself. He didn't scream or make any sound at all at first as they fell in tandem, mist peppering his skin and hair. It felt like forever before he realized that, although they were unlikely to dissipate from this kind of a fall, they could easily break something, even with their intangible Halloween forms. Without warning, he unfurled his wings and spread them wide, finally letting out an abrupt barking laugh as they faintly slowed. It wasn't enough to keep them from generating quite a splash, but they wouldn't get hurt unless they did something monumentally stupid between here and the surface.

And speaking of the surface...

West's grip on the ghoul tightened as he turned to the water, grin still firmly in place as he awaited impact.

Levi liked having a mutual facial expression that only could be recognized as theirs. When they sparred, it was there. When they danced, it was there. When they studied- yeah, it was there too in a way. It was like a burst of FEAR moving at top speed through her from head to tail and back again continuously. Nothing bet the feeling of running into a gauntlet with someone who wanted it just as much as you did.

But what was this? He seemed to be plotting something prior to the crash landing. There was a hint of that mischief he sometimes had smeared over his chosen grin.

What’re yew-

From this angle, it was like she’d met ground with her own tail and jolted back upward, floating, though she hadn’t moved at all. White and red began to cover the sun behind West, emitting light between feathers in motion. A visible barrier around him formed when his wings moved against the mist, causing the beads to disperse as if in slow motion. West’s laugh and form had an ethereal quality that she’d never in a million millennia tell him about- but it was there and she let herself enjoy it. He may have won this bit of trickery this time maybe. She hadn’t seen this move coming and so he got her by surprise. Levi was a silent observer for once.

That moment of weightlessness was answered with a jolt of cold barrier being breached at her head, neck and back. Muffled splashes of matter being engulfed by cold water caused her fur follicles to bristle despite her fur matting down from being drenched. Swirling in what felt like a tangle of limbs and who-knows-what in the deep, Levi instinctively clutched onto West’s torso and tail as best as she could. They had moved with the current away from the more stoney area directly beneath the falls, but the ghoul still felt a resistance of hitting muddy ground below. With an internal oof! Levi’s lightbulb clicked on: West had seen a more gruesome outcome possibility and had seen his way to easing their descent. This could’ve been bad. The ghoul took pride in thinking that she had indeed chosen a pretty smart spooky as her mate.

Trying to decide how to get up from down, placing her feet on what she could feel was the floor, the ghoul cautiously opened her eyes. After the disorienting ride, she wanted to catch a curious glimpse of what her surroundings looked like under the human world waters. It was murky and slightly green in hue. Their impact had disturbed the soil and debris of the pond and particles clouded most of her vision, however the variations in brightness could at least show which way the sun was. Her latch onto West loosened while regaining equalibrium and the ghoul noticed this. It was still easy to tell where his features were given their proximity and the rush of excitement made her bounce into action. Levi couldn’t miss the opportunity to retaliate and smiled wide before bringing her hands to the front of West’s chest hair patch and sneaking a kiss from him. They’d be watched for the rest of their trip. Why couldn’t she make use of this time they had on their own? Releasing him with a toothy smile, she then attempted to plant her tail on the floor and pushed herself up to propel out of the pool of water and onto the sidelines above. Kekekekeke.

Levi broke through the surface and paddled while seeing how she’d make her way back up to Uncle Tel. Squinting to see where the adult likeness of West was, Levi gave a completely innocent wave to where she thought the older wrath demon was.

Whoo~ wee! That was refreshin’!

Now, to climb on out of this gorge…

She hadn’t really gained enough momentum to drive her all the way back up to where Tel was and she couldn’t do it treading in the middle of the pool. The ghoul waded towards some rocks that jutted out to see if she could climb one and jump back up properly.

The water was cooler than West had anticipated, and as they struck the surface and plunged beneath it, his wings blinked out of existence. The impact wasn't painful, just unexpected, and he thought nothing of their disappearance, especially once Levi drew close and treated him to a secret kiss. Sneaky ghoul. He barely had time to reciprocate before she was swimming away, which was likely a blessing in disguise. Even though he had heard rumors that they could live without breathing about a million times now, he still couldn't bring himself to believe it wasn't just a ghost thing.

It took him a little longer than Levi to reappear, since his only forms of propulsion were his arms and legs, but it was far from a long enough amount of time to cause alarm. His hair draped over his eyes as he emerged, and West floated in what he thought was the tatzel's direction, guided by the sounds she made moving through the water rather than by sight. When he found a few rocks large enough to cling to, he finally pushed the soggy crimson curtain away from his face, just in time to see the cheeky wave Levi gave his uncle. West snorted, peering up through the trees. Either he wasn't at the right angle to see the other demon, or Tel was deliberately lounging out of view.

His gaze fell from the lip of the gorge back down to the water, but it fell slowly as he took in the sights and tried to see them from a professional perspective. Did humans come here often? Was it a good place to scare? Jack if he knew.

"Where'd'ya think we should go t'get back up?" he asked, his voice not quite as loud as Levi's had been. West examined a few nearby outcroppings, choosing one that looked climbable and paddling over to it.

He hadn't yet considered her tail.

Following their jump, he sat still for a whole half a minute, the picture of a genteel demon. But when silence fell after their initial shriek n' splash, Tel slowly rose to his feet and edged toward the gorge. He watched as Levi resurfaced and tossed a wave his way, and he chuckled and returned the gesture before backing up and resuming his leisurely luggage watch. Silly kids.

Crouching and watching the boil follow along to the outskirts of the water, Levi smiled and snaked her tail over to the rock's edge. She was offering him a hand tail to get up. Considering the same thing West did, Levi tapped a claw at her chin, opposite forearm resting at her midsection. Well- from tha'way I see it, we got a'couple 'a options. She looked upward toward where her new uncle was nowhere to be seen, but the defining edge up high would undoubtedly take them to where he was. Unless he ran off with their luggage. Nah, she would've heard the clanking of her pots; also Uncle Tel was such a gentleman. Looking at the younger wrath demon, Levi chuckled, shaking her head dismissively at the thought of West being the same. UH... She pushed her strands of wet hair back and over her ears which acted like bookends to keep everything relatively in so long as she didn't move them. I think-we're alone now.
This was about when the tatzel noticed their attires coupled with water. She took about a minute. Then decided that if Uncle Tel was possibly climbing down to check on them, the last thing she'd want to do is be ghouly within a visible capacity.

Thankfully, while looking West over, she caught view of her own tail. Now the wooden cogs in her mind were moving! That inner lightbulb once again struck brilliance. She kept her voice subtle enough to hopefully be drowned out by the waterfall but still catch the boil's ears due to proximity compared to Tel. West, I'want ya ta do somethin' fer me. Levi couldn't help herself with an ounce of trickery. Leaning up against the rocky facade, her tail coiled again at her feet, lifting her only an inch or so off the ground. Will ya... c'mere n' hold me? He would have seen this innocent face many many many times before. But nothing was up. She was not thinking of doing anything with the intent of catching him off guard. Please?
She was still calculating how to do things nothing while she observed him. Maybe... keep yer knees bended when ya'do? The consideration for their similar heights, his additional weight, their slippery selves and jump force required were all whizzing through her brain.
If Uncle Tel did come down right then, Levi would have some explaining to do.

He took her offered tail without difficulty or hesitation, climbing up next to her and turning to the waterfall at first. West was certain they had things like this back home, but he sure hadn't seen them. All of the wondrous sights he had witnessed were usually immediately followed by a horrifying experience of some sort. But this pretty scenery... it was just kind of... going on and on. It was no wonder humans needed them. Without Halloween, things around here would be tragically boring.

When she asked if he could do something for her, West shifted his attention, eyes narrowing a fraction before he chuckled. "Hold ya, eh?" It was his turn to look her over, but his examination was only long enough to take a snapshot for later. "I can do that." He moved closer, curling an arm around her waist and pressing a demure kiss to her cheek. He was quite sure that Tel could neither see them nor was he currently coming to find them, but it was probably still better to keep things innocent. His uncle would eventually wonder what happened if they stayed down here too long, after all.

West pulled back a little, keeping his arm around her as he bent his knees. "This good'nuff fer ya?"

User ImageWhen West’s eyes did that inquisitive squint they sometimes would do, the tatzel couldn’t help but offer a counter leer and cackle as well. Kekekeke~ Perhaps he was seeing through her? Nah~ Levi knew this bounce would jingle his berries. Pretty please with corn on’top, she affirmed with a single nod. The continuing mist that wafted over them gave the ghoul a chill in her current state, but she was quick to warmth again via a rather charming bit of contact. The sleek wrath boil would punch a gnome from one side of the gym into the other but, at times, he was a real gentlemanly sort of boil. The dichotomy of it made her question whether it was a common practice among all wraths or if this was something West did just for her. Destroyer of walls by day, considerate fancypants gentleman by night. Then the boil gave her a treat of the sweet kind- no, not that Sweet Treat.

Possible retaliation for her underwater trickery? Perhaps. The peck would be met with a smile and glance from the ghoul. Using a finger and thumb to peel away a strand of his hair, she combed it back with the rest of his dripping mane to help tuck it over his horns. Did his horns get bigger? No, it was just the lack of volume providing this perception. Levi rung her two fingers around the base of one just to be certain.

Atta boil. I’think… maybe a little more like- she brought her heels back to solid ground, coiling her tail behind her against the rocky surface below them. Pressing her forearms against his upper arms, Levi made the space between his chest whiskers and herself non existent. -maybe’a bit closer. Like this. Nails digging in and knees bending on her end as well, Levi gave West a small tap, forehead-to-forehead, before looking up and announcing one last request: Hold on tight ta’yer knickers. Er- actually, just keep holding’ on ta’me, kekekeke! Then they were off!

Bits of dust and pebbles jittered around her feet and tail as they propelled towards the sky. It wasn’t West’s first rodeo, bounding straight upward as if shot through a carnival cannon. The force may have jostled their positions slightly thanks to the watery barrier at first, but the wind quickening against them also had a short drying effect. They’d still be damp arriving at the top, but it did help their traction as to not slide out of their positions mid-bounce. As the cliffside speedily diminished underneath them like they’d raced up the wall at a vertical sprint, the tatzel gave a much more gleefully high pitched cackle. The way up was always a thrill for her.

kekekekekekeke~!

From above, it would’ve sounded like a rising cackle until the two were visible to their chaperone. They were well above the cliffside within seconds, floating momentarily with the human sun beaming down on them before Levi realized one tiny miscalculation: The angle in which she’d jumped. It seemed like they were well enough close to the topside of the waterfall where Uncle Tel was now visibly sat among his parade of travelers’ gear. However, for them to get their toes onto that plateau, it would take a bit more sway. Levi began to let go of West. Her next move was to settle her feet at his midsection and dropkick him over to the clifftop unless he was swift enough to act. A fall and secondary bounce would take her to the top again with her kin. Back! Thank ya, Uncle Tel!

Once up on the cliff, a trail of rising smoke became visible in the near distance of the treetop just a few yards downstream from the pool below. Anyone in the vicinity would surely be able to pinpoint the origin of this starting plume. What’s this?
