Alistair felt his eyes watering, even though right now, tears, of all things - unless they were tears of joy - seemed completely the wrong reaction. He rested his hand on the side of Lance's face and tilted his head, pressing his lips to the blond's.

"Words will do for a long time," he said, "especially those words." He could wait for a ring, because in the end he had the most important piece. "You know that I'm yours forever - across a thousand lifetimes, a million years, a billion stars. Until the end of the universe itself."
