Again? Damn, she had really hoped he'd hit that time. Maybe he was so tired he couldn't see straight. He really, really needed to sleep. "Your nightmares are back, aren't they." It wasn't spoken so much as a question as it was an observation. Heidi raised Matilda this time, aiming for Herryk instead of Tuck. She released the arrow, it bounced harmlessly off the axe. "After this take a nap. With me. I'll stay with you for the whole thing." He used to sleep better with her around before, maybe he still could sleep okay with her now. But he couldn't honestly think she bought for even a second that he was sleeping. Seriously now. HP: 50/50 Damage done: 0 Charge: 3/3; 0/2 used

"Worse now," he spoke the words before he really realized what he was saying. His face pinched a little. "You don't gotta look out for me, Heidi. It ain't your job." Tuck held Herryk out in front of him, his stance defensive. Everything about him was defensive, in all honesty.
On the other hand, he really, really needed some sleep - and he'd never slept better than he had with Heidi. Tuck sighed. Mostly he was afraid of getting carried away, which was something that was doomed to happen if he woke up to a sleepy-soft Heidi in his arms.

"I'm not offering because I think it's my job," Heidi clarified as she readied another arrow. "I'm offering because I love you and I care about you, and you can't get better if you're not taking care of yourself properly." It made perfect sense. Heidi didn't want to tell him she hated seeing him unable to even hit her once when she was giving him a free shot because he was just so tired. And him saying they were worse made her want to do it even more. He needed to sleep. "You said you wouldn't run away anymore. Maybe running away is why your nightmares are getting worse."
She shook her head and released the arrow, aiming for Herryk again. "Just a nap for a few hours, that's all. You won't be fine if you're sleep deprived, you'll make stupid choices and get yourself hurt. Or worse." Heidi frowned. "Please?"

She always was the voice of reason, and everything she said made perfect sense. In fact, it made so much sense that Tuck knew if he said no he would only come off as being a big ******** baby. He knew he needed to sleep. He needed to sleep bad. Maybe with Heidi in the same bed as him, he would be able to have a heavy, dreamless nap.
"Fine," Tuck grunted, holding Herryk defensively. "Just for a few hours."

When he finally agreed to a few hours she sighed with relief. He would sleep, and even if he had trouble sleeping she would be there to help him. Thank god.
Heidi raised Matilda again. "Your defense is way better than mine. Maybe I should've been a Sun instead." She shrugged. Nah, Sun didn't suit her. She liked being a Moon even if actually defending herself or someone else wasn't quite her strong suit.

Heidi actually felt kind of proud of that compliment. She beamed. "Not really. I always figured if I transferred to Sun you'd have a heart attack. I like helping people." She hummed, aiming Matilda again. Again the arrow was aimed for Herryk. "..Do you think I should?"

"I think you should do what makes you happy," Tuck groused softly, deflecting only a small bit of Heidi's attack. "An' stop worryin' about what would make me happy. You hit ********' hard. I think you'd make a great sun if you decided to go to that division."

She hummed. "Well, I value your opinion. It's important to me." Heidi came closer, this time swinging Matilda how she'd seen Tuck do it with Herryk earlier. She hit, but Matilda hit Herryk's blade with a loud, harmless clang of metal hitting metal. She winced when she felt the vibration down her hands and arms, backing off. Heidi blinked. Oh. Was that it? Matilda vanished as well, reappearing around Heidi's ear in totem form. She smiled. "All right, sure. Let's go take a nap. You..room or mine..?" Wow, Heidi did not like that question. She shook it off, approaching Tuck with an unfaltering smile still.
