third drink
"It means 'thank you'," he explained patiently, concealing a grin behind his drink. At last she was starting to get tipsy. He wondered what sort of drunk Abbi would be. Maybe he was about to unleash the beast on accident, s**t. But the buzz was starting to settle in, so he didn't feel quite as much dread as he probably should have.
"Well, I'll be sure to make you completely drunk off your a** tonight," Jack promised between gulps. "If you're going to run the risk of dying young, you might as well live it up."
The smile disappeared and was once again his usual scowl at the mention of the shoes. He wasn't even surprised anymore that someone else had found out; Ian had been a shitty guard dog.
He gave a sarcastic half bow, as much as the table allowed. "Your compliment is worth more than a vault of gold, moon princess. But her highness has been ill-advised when it comes to her footwear, for flats and rabbit ears are unbecoming of someone of her stature."
He thanked Owain for help with that one and was glad he could say it with such dripping sarcasm that it probably would go over Abbi's head.

Third Drink
"Aw yiss, deku tree thank you." Most likely Abbi would be the same drunk as she normally was, just more slurred, more ridiculous, and probably more floppy. As much as she hated that Jack was right, the teen sighed and rose her glass. "We just have to drink to that." Of which she did. All of it. The whole rest of her drink right there.
The reappearance of the scowl, of which Abbi had been priding herself on having erased, doesn't make her frown in return. Instead she smirks at him because now he knows that she knows about the shoes. She's about to sass some more, but stops when he bows. Huh, that was... Oh. Oh she got it. "Dang son. You talk to all the girls like that?" For a second she raises her glass, but realizes its empty. "The Moon Princess, you can keep up. Hatin' on the rabbit ears... Naw." The glass was waved instead of her hand because she was still holding onto it. "But if you don't approve of my flats and bunnies... What would you suggest, O Wise One?"
Naturally, the sarcasm totally went over Abbi's head.

He scoffed with disbelief and then laughed as Abbi chugged the whole damn mug down. He even took a few photos for the memories, as he would be doing throughout the night. No eighteen year old girl should live without a few embarrassing white girl wasted photos.
In a way, he hoped this taught her to get drunk but not drunk.
"s**t like that is what makes people not want to date you," Jack told her as a matter of factly, pouring some of his drink into hers just because. "That's what five year olds have, Abbi. Five year olds and ***** approved Japanese school girls. You need to look like an adult if you're going to get an adult. We'd need a whole freakin' appointment to iron out how the hell to fix your wardrobe.
"For now, just toast me for being so generous for offering."

Fourth & A Half Drink
There had been a bathroom break thrown in there for Abbi's sake, of which she returned to their table from with a bunch of clattering and loud shuffling of her chair. "OK. Like, the hay bales totes threw me, but those bathrooms are swank." It did, however, take her longer than normal to actually sit down mostly because she was confused about... Sitting. The chair kept moving out of her reach and her knees felt wobbly and finally she managed to sit, even though it rocked to one side dangerously and she clutched haphazardly at the table. Once gravity returned her mostly to normal, Abbi tentatively let go of the table. She frowned at it for a second, then the chair as though it had betrayed her, before she looked back up at Jack. "Where the heckie didja even find this place?" Her voice was slurred and already she'd forgotten about the picture taking.
"So like... Do I get to ask serious questions, now?" This was the time for that sort of thing... Right...

Third Drink
A peace sign was flashed at the photo taking with her friend hand, all too happy to pose since she was still cognitive enough to do so. Though it was kind of Jack to want to teach her a lesson, Abbi really only recognized that he was providing her a fantastic night of free drinks which was super fantastic.
"Whaaaaaat?! Are you seriously tellin' me that guys don't enjoy the short skirt, thigh high combo? Cause like... I don't do that cause I just like my legs. Actually, actually!" She sits up straighter to point a finger at him. "I hate my legs. They are the worst. You don't even know." But she sighs heavily and leans back in her chair, resignation clear on her features. "Can't I look like an adult and still wear the cute stuff?" They were so unique! No one else wore them but her! "I don't wanna change but like..." Saying she was lonely would be an admission of defeat. So she just trailed off and let the silence speak for her.
"Who said I would take your offer anyways. You'd dress me in a paper sack I bet." Even though it did reek of resentment, Abbi still smiled down at the drink that had been added to her cup.

fourth & a half drink
"My family's had a trip here before," he answered in a low burr, lazily grinning as Abbi struggled to sit down. The alcohol had begun to settle in at last, relaxing the usually uptight Lifer. Normally it took him completely not caring to get that loose; that was probably why he had begun to turn to beer more and more often: just to chill.
He had an arm out in case she fell, but it looked like that wasn't necessary anymore, so he let it fall back into his lap. Jack blew a puff of hair to clear some bangs from his eyes. "Yeah, guess you could. Depends. What kind've serious questions?"

"The combo is fine. You make it unsexy with your..." Jack gestured vaguely at her. "Personality, I guess. I dunno. I wouldn't have sex with you if my life depend on it, so maybe I'm biased. You'll take my offer if you know what's good for you."
He wasn't an aficionado of women's clothes, but somewhere in the muddled "earlier bit" of the conversation he had agreed to help her get a date, so he supposed he'd have to learn a little.
"What's wrong with your legs?" he prompted. "They're fine. Pale as a ghost but fine."

Third Drink
The frown she'd displayed at various things turns to Jack with more intensity, eyebrows furrowing heavily. An accusatory finger points at him, then swirls in a circle. "I wouldn't..." She purses her lips at having to say it, but she's tipsy and Abbi straightens her shoulders. "I wouldn't have s-sex with you even if you asked." Which was definitely a worse insult than having one's life depend on it. "Which offer? The one for extra-curricular activities or the wardrobe help?" { AAAAYYYYYYYYY } Aw yiss, A+ Vivi.
As for her legs, Abbi manages to keep herself from all out grumping loudly. She hates this, but hell she's tipsy so she only half cares. One leg swings out from the chair up and up until her heel clacks heavily onto the table. Having totally forgotten she'd worn tights instead of stockings, there is a bit of shuffling to move the tights down and eventually Abbi has to pull the leg back to wiggle out of one leg of said tights before the now bare leg returns to the table. What is visible of the thigh, just a little above the knee, is marked with two long, thankfully thin scars, but under the knee is the worst. A large webbed scar rests on her knees, tapers down to the ankle. "Screw the Sahara, man." Is all she says.

third drink"Good, 'cause I wouldn't," he retorted more than a little petulantly. "So obviously I mean the god damn makeover one." They got strange looks as Abbi peeled the leggings off, but he didn't care. His eyes traced the scars curiously, something in his demeanor shifting at the mention of the Sahara. "What happened?" He always wanted to know.

Third Drink
Electing to ignore his makeover offer, even if she would sincerely like a friend's opinion, Abbi focuses a frown at her legs, pouting at them before she curls herself off the table and back to her own chair. "You were there in the Infirmary after. Didn't someone tell you?" Her glass is finally emptied, honestly this time thanks to Jack's addition, before it clanks against the table. "The list of things that didn't happen in the Sahara is way shorter." She's surprised at how bitterly she feels, how the normal frustration over what happened is amplified. Surely it is the drink that is making her feelings more intense, but she wonders why it makes her feel so hollow at the same time, like she has had her stomach carved out and a slop of negativity and resentment plopped into the open space.
"Don't even ask to see my back." Sharp in her mind, Viveca reminds the girl that she shouldn't mention things that aren't being talked about if she wants to avoid conversing about them. "The smaller ones... Are from something else. So now you know all my scars. Your turn."

Fourth and a Half DrinkA low whistle, or well what is supposed to be a whistle but is instead just a low rush of air between her lips, is Abbi's reply. "Wow. Jack's family is swank. Lucky duckies." Another look around gave her a new appreciation of the bar. Did a younger Jack drink here too? What did a younger Jack even look like? Probably less hair and maybe like two inches shorter. Or like a little kid... A little kid Jack sitting at the bar with a grumpy face and slapping his hands on the counter demanding chicken fingers in a pompous voice. Yeah. Actually, it wasn't that funny, but Abbi still cracked up over the idea, giggling to herself. Once she'd finally settled down she pointed a finger at him, took a swig, and pointed at him again. "Like Level 4 friendship type stuff. What was your family like, do you miss them, what's the thing you hate about Deus th'most, who's your crush, that sorta thing!" The fact she'd been able to say all that even remotely coherently was a miracle and to that, Abbi needed another gulp.

He gave Abbi a look. "I can't be expected to remember who got what from what when we hit the equivalent of a lunch rush," Jack said with a shrug. "Not when I hit work mode." But it was up to her to elaborate; he knew all too well that some scars didn't want to be explained. He did, however, felt like sharing a little for the sake of the bonding moment.
He drew a line through his right eye brow, crossing just over his eye. "You can't see it anymore, but I used to have a scar here. Fought my ex on Christmas Eve last year. She won," he told her with a wry smile. "Hard not to when you have a giant a** sword with teeth."

fourth & a half drinkFriendship level what...? He rolled his eyes and found it more difficult than usual to do so without smiling. Or feeling slightly dizzy. No more drinks for him then. "One at a time, princess. I'm not an open book you just get t'peruse." Where would he be if he didn't hold some things back after all? He pushed his mug away to stymie any temptations and looked to Abbi to lead the conversation—if she didn't fall off her stool first.

Third Drink
Jack's response did nothing to dull the awful feeling in her stomach and the girl felt it bubble up to show on her face a little. Naturally she was forgotten, she shouldn't expect anything else. "There were some bugs... Some worms I-D-K, almost drowned in sand, and then the bugs threw up acid on me. That's what the uh..." Her hand waved at the webbing of scars on her shin that she attempted to cover up with the return of her tights she found much harder to wiggle into modestly. "Didn't think they'd scar so badly, yanno? Stuff doesn't usually do so bad anymore... Maybe cause I was such a newbie back then..."
Considering another gulp, Abbi noticed Jack's hand move up to his eyebrow and pull down. She blinked at the motion, not understanding what he was trying to get across. "Your ex on... Christmas Ehhh STORMY DID THAT?" Both her hands smack over her mouth to keep any louder noises from escaping. She leaned forward over the table, blue eyes wide as they stared at the now clean spot. "Woooooow... That's craaaaaay."

Fourth and a Half Drink"Whaaaat? Why can't ya be an open book? I am a greaaaat reader." A lopsided grin cocked itself on her face, clearly enjoying all the fuzzy feelings and warmth of the bar and her drinks. "OK uhhh uhhhh... IDK. Chose something secret-like to tell meeeeeeee. You chose, you chooooooose!"Assuming he was offering her his mug, Abbi reached across the table to grab at the mug's handle, knocked back a gulp only to hiss a second later. Yuck! His was so much nastier than her's!!
