Finn raised his eyebrows and watched the other man go as he made his way back to the pod.

"Good luck!" He called after him, still smirking away like crazy.

Chris almost stepped out onto the first tile in front of him, but he noticed a weird inconsistency in the tile that had him hesitating. Instead, he side-stepped to the tile next to it.

Which, of course, shot ******** gas up around him, until he was choking and coughing so painfully that tears welled up in his eyes. It dissipated, albeit slowly, but he was left feeling like he was wheezing harshly.

Chris eyed the next tile warily. He was still breathing funny, with a soft wheeze that made his throat tickle, and he was hesitant to step on to the next death trap. However, no matter how hard he looked, the tile looked plain and nonthreatening.

He stepped forward, and miraculously nothing happened. No fire burned him, no gas choked him, and no blades killed him.

Because it had served him well last time, Chris took his time examining the next tile before moving. He stepped onto it carefully, and nothing clicked.

He'd survived again, somehow.

He was starting to get paranoid. Surely he couldn't go another tile without getting attacked? Maybe the first time he'd tried had been a fluke? After all, Finn made it through on his first try.

He jumped to the next tile and winced. Nothing.

One last step. He just had to make it one more step and then either he'd die and fail or he'd survive and win.

He didn't even examine it this time, just closed his eyes and took a quick step forward. Nothing happened...

"Oh s**t NOTHING HAPPENED!" Chris hollared, throwing his fists up in the air.

The disappointed voice rang out over the course again. "Congratulations, you have completed the deathsweeper course. Unless...."

"Nope. Nope nope nope."

He popped out of the pod, whooping excitedly. "I did it! We both did it! Yeah!"

Finn had been watching, but after the very first incident he thought that Chris was going to end up dead and back at the beginning for sure. There were no real feelings on it beyond that. He wasn't really rooting for the other man to succeed nor was he hoping that he would fail. He watched out of more of a passive interest, a morbid curiosity as well considering he kind of liked watching the golems get torn apart.

When Chris made it through all five tiles, however, Finn smiled, turning to greet him as he came out of the pod.

"How about a drink to celebrate?" He offered, figuring it was only polite to offer.

"God, yes please. I need something in my system to forget that I just felt things no living person ever should." He clapped Finn on the shoulder, and grinned. "Lead the way to the booze."
