Sigurd hadn't been doing much in the way of thinking, he was letting his body do all the thought and work. The fact that Shage wasn't pushing him away only urged him along. At least, until Shage spoke again. It caused the fae to freeze.
Was that really what he thought? His prince wanted a family? Little children of their own? Brown eyes blinked, trying to comprehend what had just been said. He pulled back a moment to look at Shageki. A family? He would have more to take care of, to protect, to love. A moment of the shock lasted, finally curving the pale fae's lips into a smile. Yes, a family. They could have children.
Words failed Sigurd this time. He couldn't even manage a one. Still smiling like a fool in love, he kissed Shageki again, pulling their bodies as close as he could without pain. Or was that going to feel good again? Sigurd couldn't help it, there was just so much of his prince that he had yet to explore, to get to know. Both in personality and physically. With Shage's admission, Sigurd's hands were starting to traaaaaaiiilllll
-Aaaaand black out. Enjoy your dirty thoughts you pervs <3-
Sigurd had heard about the faerie of life, without her pae wouldn't be born. He'd never thought he'd be going to visit her himself though. And with Shageki at his side, Sigurd was even more shocked. Not by how strange it felt, though that was certainly a larger part of the emotions, but by how right it felt to walk to her cottage hand in hand with his prince. They had asked for a potion to help them create a baby together. She'd been all too happy to let them have it. After all, they were in love and had a nice house that was ready for kids. Sadly though, there was a little bit of a problem.
Sigurd should have known what it was right off the bat. Shageki probably did too. They were both men. Neither of them had the parts required to nurture a new life while it developed. Yes, they had the hearts and the will, but not the bodies. Now they had another task, to ask Iordanes to bless one of the two of them with the body of a woman. It wouldn't be easy, they had found out where they needed to do it nothing else.
Squeezing Shage's hand, Sigurd looked to his lover. "Are you ready?" he asked, having tucked the potion neatly into a pocket somewhere. They'd decided not to drink it until after Iordanes had helped them.

It was a strange thing, going from merely dating to lovers. Strange, but he wouldn't lie that he liked it. When they laid together on the gutting table outside, it had been his first time. And Sigurd was just as devoted in that as he was in just about everything else in his life.
Their fingers laced together, he gave a nod to his leafy fae. Meanwhile his stomach had butterflies the size of foxes. He thought admitting to his family that he was gay and living with his partner was hard. Coming up to them as a pregnant female...Woo. As soon as Millie had told them one of them needed to carry the child, Shageki of course offered himself. Sigurd had the physical task of gathering meat, and doing so while pregnant simply wasn't feasible. Which led them there, to a place just outside of the temple. Apparently something horrible had happened to the actual Temple of Venus -which now that he thought about it his father HAD mentioned seeing snake creatures pop out everywhere- so they needed to call Iordanes just outside of it. How to call Iordanes? Well, that was where dear old Uncle Raken came into play.
It was quite frankly embarrassing to ask. And the look on his face when they followed up how to make incense was hilarious in hindsight but slightly frustrating at the time. The silver haired demon swore to secrecy before showing them what to do. So they grabbed some Sage and pinewood, ground it up and stuck in in a bowl.
That easy.
Now Raken also mentioned there was a second part in the ritual, something about a piece of them. What that meant no one knew. He hadn't any literature on the subject and knew no one who had called Iordanes before. The deity simply had a way of showing up whenever he wanted to. They figured however it had something to do with their relationship, since this was all about having a baby, and took a vial of water from the river where they met.
Which brought them here. He slowly let go of the males hand to go into his deerskin pack, pulling out the items along with a good striking rock to make a fire. "Grab some tinder and wood to light the incense?"

Sigurd grinned, he was well ahead of Shageki. It was something he had grabbed during their long distance trips across the isle. "Right here Love." The fae offered, pulling several bits out of his pack. Surely it only one of the reasons why it had been such a bulky thing. But it was also because he'd wanted to make sure they had plenty of supplies while they traveled.
"You're sure you want to be the female for this?" Sigurd checked, one last time. He wouldn't push Shage into anything he wasn't sure about. He'd carry their children himself if it would keep Shage from unwanted discomfort. He wouldn't light the incense until Shage's response, it wouldn't do to be waffling in front of a Guardian like Iordanes. At least, after the incense was lit they knew vaguely what they were doing.

"Thanks Sig." He smiled gratefully before handing over the striking rock. "Well...it's a once in a lifetime chance to experience both sides." He said 'once in a lifetime' but...maybe Sigurd and him would follow his parents footsteps and have a large family? First of course they had to see how they were with one or two kids. "I'm ready when you are." He uncorked the vial of water, ready to dabble a few drops onto the fire when Sigurd lit the incense.
He wasn't sure if that was what he was supposed to do. This wasn't exactly common practice for either of them. So he'd dabble a few drops into the small fire, then set the rest of the vial beside it as an offering.

"As you wish My Prince." He smiled, backing down on his worries. It really was a rare chance to experience both sides of everything. Without further ado, Sigurd lit the incense, letting it burn just long enough to get the smoke going. Carefully blowing out the flame, Sigurd fanned the smoke about. It would help right?
"Ready for the water, Love." He backed up just a bit, watching Shage and waiting for whatever cue it was to start calling for Iordanes. Or whatever it was they were supposed to do. Sigurd chewed his lip, wondering how long it would take.

There hadn't been much to do since the temple on the island had been taken over by...whatever those were. Iordanes had been amusing himself by watching the mortals go about their lives. Well, when he wasn't teaming up with some brother or another to play tricks on the girls. He'd heightened his own awareness for his preferred incense, in case he was needed and summoned somewhere other than the temple.
The smoky sensation at the back of his throat caught his attention. He turned his gaze upon its source--two males. Iordanes smiled. Surely they were in need of his services. He snapped his bow and arrows to his side, and poofed his way down to Telrunya.
"Good day," he said to the pair before him. "I am Iordanes. You have summoned me on purpose, I presume?"

As he sat back to wait for Iordanes, he took back Sigurds hand. "Do you think I'll be pretty?" He mused aloud, a blush spreading over his face.
It couldn't have been more than a few minutes, but it felt like hours. Did they do something wrong? Was it a different incense mixture, or did they need something individually instead of combined as an offering?
Then in a flash of purple, a slender figure appeared before them. A female? Yet referred to as a male...Fitting. Should have expected as much. "Iordanes? Y-yes. We did. I...uh...uhhh...Millie..." And now his words seemed to fail him. He looked over to Sigurd for help as his face grew redder and redder.

"I think you'll be gorgeous Shageki. You always are." He smiled, gently caressing his lover's cheek. And without much to add, Sigurd contented himself with waiting for Iordanes.
Surely, if it had taken much longer than it had, he would have started to panic. But this was a very powerful pae they were attempting to summon, it's not like he could be on call all the time. Hearing Shage loose all coherent thought, Sigurd stepped up to bat.
"Yes Sir, we would like your help in starting a family." Sigurd beamed, taking Shage's hand and squeezing it lightly. "Millie, the little faery in the cottage, told us we would need your help. Iordanes, would you please turn Shageki into a woman?" The fae asked, still holding onto Shage's hand.

Huh. They had this allll figured out, did they? Something about the fae's tone irked Iordanes, as if he were asking a neighbor to borrow a broom rather than petitioning a god for assistance.
A smirk crossed his face, the briefest of expressions.
"Well," he began casually, shrugging his shoulders. "I mean, that depends. Did you bring the winged seashell?" He twirled an arrow between his fingers. "Or drink the juice of a rock? What about the wooden cloud?" He blinked very seriously at them.

He almost gaped at the fae at his straightforward request. Shageki knew the other had balls of steel, but he himself could never be so bold. Instantly he looked back at Iordanes, his blue eyes scanning the purple pae's face for the answer.
Instantly his heart sank. What on Gaia was a winged seashell? How would he even juice a rock? Clouds could be made of wood? "I...we...no." He let go of Sigurds hand to rummage through his pack. After a moment he produced the bottle of potion. "All we have is Millie's potion..." His first thought was despair at their family being postponed. But this was a GOD. It really was ridiculous to think it would be so easy to get a favor.
"But...but we can. How can we get those things?" Each of the items sounded positively impossible to get. But surely other pae had done it before, if that was what was required. And he was determined to do anything to earn Iordanes' favor.

His look of confidence changed to one of almost despair. He'd not thought through any of it. At least not enough to realize that it couldn't have been easy to gain a favor. Sigurd resolved himself to do whatever it was that needed to be done. Shageki would have that family, even if he had to go to the ends of the isle for it. But those items...
Well that was it then. Sigurd had screwed things up royally. They'd jumped the gun and would have to wait guardians knew how long to fill Shage's wishes of starting a family. Or more precisely, Sigurd had moved too quickly.
He could hear the despair in his lover's voice, changing to determination. The fae was about to open his mouth and speak, but something told him that was likely just a bad idea. He'd already offended the god once, certainly he'd do it again just as easily. Quite ashamed of himself, Sigurd just kept quiet and stood next to his prince to support him.

Iordanes let them sputter for a few moments, savoring their realization at who they were speaking to and miraculously keeping a straight face, until finally he burst out laughing.
"Really, though, do you just want me to shoot you, or would you prefer to know how it works first?" he asked the dark male. He held his bow up and drew back the string, pointing the weapon at him.

Shageki stood there, trying to keep on his brave face in spite of his nerves wanting him to clam up again. Trying not to lose hope with these impossible quest items.
But then suddenly, unexpectedly, the god started laughing! Not just a chuckle, but full out laughter. He was pulling their leg?!
That wasn't very nice.
However they needed Iordanes' help, so he kept those thoughts to himself. "Well, uh, a brief run down would be nice...but either way, I definitely want to be shot. If that's how it works." He knew that the arrow was what made him a her, but it still was rather unnerving to have it pointed at him. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt too much.

Sigurd despaired, all the while trying not to show it on his face. How were they going to get any of that? And then Iordanes started laughing. Normally that wouldn't have bothered him, but it felt like the god was laughing at his prince. Sigurd's metaphorical feathers were ruffled. But they still needed this man's help, regardless of how rude that was. The fae took a breath to calm himself, this was a god, he had probably offended him earlier.
"I don't mind getting shot if you're afraid of it Shage" He offered, noticing the look of nervousness on the other. And really, he didn't mind. He may not have wanted to be a woman, but if it was for his prince, anything.

Iordanes ignored the loud one for now. They were partners, to be sure, but this decision was not to be made lightly, nor by another. He kept his gaze level on Shageki, softening his expression somewhat. Shageki was clearly serious about his desire to have a child, and despite Iordanes' joking around, he really did love helping couples conceive.
"Just one little arrow-p***k is all it takes. It shouldn't hurt. Much. And then you'll be on your way to womanhood." He grinned. "You'll still be you, fundamentally, but the changes are more than just physical. Normally the effects last only a day, but if you conceive, the changes will remain until you give birth. Now, I don't have any experience with that, but I've heard it's a rough time."
"If you find that being female suits you better than your present form, I can help with that too," he added at the end.
He raised his bow again. "Now are you certain you wish to do this?" he asked.
