I was thinking that we let people run with the idea and come up with their own situations that fit the idea. That way it's not dependent on one or two people being available and everyone can get involved who wants to, with it all organically leading up to a seance or something for our actual Halloween Event.

Maybe we work out some basic guidelines so people don't go completely off the rails with it, but otherwise let folks do whatever comes to them?

Holy shoot. I didn't realize so many people were talking about me in here~ XD I feel special. Love that you guys are developing things, by the way.

For the Halloween event, I actually just talked to Hikaru about this recently 'cause I suggested it as an event for another shop and I can't get enough of it. But aren't Masquerade Balls - the Medieval fantasy sort that nobles used to attend with themed, grand formal wear - something along the lines of fancy halloween dress-up parties?

Though you might have done one before/recently; I'm afraid I lost track. I just thought it might be a fun embellishment on the usual, though of course the haunted plot and such could still take place. I guess it's less of a plot suggestion and more a suggestion of a fanciful atmosphere rather than just your typical Halloween one.

Pfft, when 'Shin-ra' is mentioned, I keep thinking of Shinra Kishitani, but I'm betting that's not the case. XD Especially with mention of Reno.

Speakng of DRRR!!, let's see...yes, Simon might be a little tricky to work in if they're going to be younger. But from what I understand, he used to pry them apart often even then, and if Hikaru likes BOMB4Y's concept of being on the cafeteria staff (maybe as an exotic Russian sushi chef with Dennis to give the Ouran students a taste of a different culture, even temporarily), I think that'd work great!

LOL on a side note, I know it might be tricky for Hikaru to play the twins and Simon at once, but as some of you might know, Izaya actually has experience with twins, which might be amusing to play with sometime.

SO I hope there's not too many dangerous items around for them to get their hands on, even if there's bound to be no end of expensive things to break. XP Ah, unfortunately, plot ideas seem rather limited when it comes to playing Shizuo and Izaya because there's almost nothing else they do when they encounter each other than fight, with poor Kadota either caught in the middle or forced to stay on the sidelines.

Hmm...I guess I could try playing Kasuka as well, unless someone else would like to? Someone to give Shizuo incentive not to break everything in sight. Unless that is, in fact, what BOMB4Y would prefer. I just thought it might be a bit boring for you. I always find it a shame people don't get to see more of Shizuo's usual, gentle side when Izaya's around, especially because Shizuo is actually my favorite DRRR!! character.

Since Kasuka becomes a famous actor and rich, he would probably fit well in Ouran. In fact, I don't really know where Kasuka went to school, so this might actually be plausible. Shizuo could be coming to look at the school with him, perhaps to see if he should apply (unless he's already enrolled and just having Shizuo visit/maybe see if he wants to join him at this school?) and they encounter Izaya. Before that, though, I'd imagine Shizuo would be pretty gentle, kind, and courteous to other Ouran students? Maybe want to leave a good impression for Kasuka's sake. These are all just suggestions, of course!

Mmm...regarding Kadota and Izaya...Izaya might have business to talk with Class D students, especially because he gets into stuff with the yakuza right out of high school, so it's probable to think he had ties with them (like, say, Kasanoda). I think Izaya and the man he stole the name 'Nakura' from both founded an illegal gambling ring called Amphisbaena during their high school years. Kadota might sense trouble and try to come along with Izaya to talk him out of said illegal activities? And/or maybe to make sure disaster doesn't follow.

Pfft, I daresay Izaya might even have offered to pay him to be his temporary bodyguard, especially since Izaya's pretty small and weak himself and Kadota, (keeping his build and future in mind,) may or may not already have had fighting experience at this point. I imagine Izaya would be more cautious after Nakura tried to stab him in middle school which may be why he took up carrying a blade on his person even if he seems to prefer running away to using it when he can help it.

Kadota may be enough without Kasuka to remind Shizuo that they're in a fancy school and can't just break things, but I figured at least the notion of Kasuka might be good enough a reason for Shizuo to be there at all.

Again, these are all just suggestions. Let me know what you guys think~! I'm game for pretty much anything.

Hahaha, not at all~ heart XD I just didn't want to assume you might prefer to do something different with a character when you might have just wanted to continue to play him the way you did before. I find your actual personality to be really fun~

Aw, you're so kind. XD Thank you, but as much as I love Shizu-chan, there's a reason I usually play Izaya. I find it interesting to play characters I don't like or am not as fond of because it helps me to understand them or that kind of person better. Also, I find instigators to be the most interesting when it comes to roleplay because I enjoy the conflict. The anime is more than enough to go off of! I was just pulling things out of the novels to see what we could incorporate.

On the contrary, I think every character - especially characters that aren't our own - takes brains to get right. Some just come so naturally to you, BOMB4Y, that I feel you may think they don't because it takes you almost no effort to fit into those roles. It's pretty amazing. But that's just my own personal opinion.

Hmm...did you have a preference between playing Shizu-chan or Kida? I can play whatever character that might go along with them and Kadota and Simon. If you enjoy playing Shizuo with Izaya, we can still do that! I just thought you might get tired or bored of him just running around and chasing and yelling and throwing things.

I figured if I played Erica or Walker, who both know and get along with Kida as well as are a part of Kadota's gang, they could interact with other people by talking about anime/manga and trying to get them to cosplay and such. I just thought it might be a change to people just trying to dodge/stay out of the way of Izaya and Shizuo's chaos. I guess the only thing is we'd have to figure out why they were at Ouran, but their eccentricities combined with that of the Host Club's and Ouran's overall wealth could be interesting, too.

And yeah, I think Shinra's good to just be there to add a bit of conflict to stir things up a bit, nothing too serious or big. Rufus isn't the type to give up on something he's set his sights on, but he's also the type who would retreat to regroup and plan again. You can have him in and out or have various people who just want to play Rufus pop in and out to accompany Reno whenever.

Yeah, you guys do the mulling, mom. whee I'm actually thinking of experimenting a little on adoptables, so most of my brain cells and time would be tuned to it now hahaha

Well, I don't know. I'm not really a role-player by nature, I'm just this guy who logs in, chats, posts pictures, then logs off. If you're going to talk to me about writing stories or characters, I'm afraid you're going to have to expect rather poor delivery. When I imagine things, I mostly see pictures and that's the first thing that comes from my hands. Ask me to describe it in words, and I'd kiiiiiiiiinda have problems with that.

Unlike you guys who're naturally into writing, I don't understand characters - I merely illustrate them. That's why I've never role-played until now, and even when I started, I don't really do it often. In fact, I was rarely in character in comic con. Taught me a lesson in avoiding dressing up as stoic characters even if I might look like them somewhat, 'cause their fans got real disappointed. sweatdrop I can't even pose. I felt silly, and very awkward, doing it. The only thing I can be is myself. I'm poor at pretending.

Rampaging Shizu-chan is easy, since what we're describing isn't his personality, but the actions he takes when attacking someone. Kida's almost effortless because, embarrassed to admit it as I might, we share a lot of personality traits - and that often doesn't take brains to play. Problem with Kida is that he's such a chatterbox, and while I'm a chatterbox, I'm extremely busy right now and I'm good with only a few paragraphs while I'm being a chatterbox over my phone emotion_facepalm I'm right now trying to convince this girl to go shopping with me on a date next week. Another girl actually gave me the idea but we don't click so

About the plot, both have their pros and cons in their own way - Izaya and Shizuo fighting is physically exciting and would shake the club up since things in Ouran aren't really violent; you sort of introduce a bit of shounen into shoujo and balance it out... though the regular players won't like being subjected to having to run away while Optimus Prime fights Megatron.
Erika, Walker, Dotachin, Simon and Kida are fun, since you do get to mesh in a bit of weird with the classy, but then again, Ouran's pretty weird in the first place, so it wouldn't be much of a change, I guess? Worth mulling over, but not too seriously so though. ninja You could, you know, break them up into two separate events... ninja

Hey, no pressure, play whoever you want to play, for whatever length of posts and whatever length of time. Like I said — no big deal to me. We're a casual RP, remember? It's supposed to be fun and relaxing, there are no quotas here.



This is me. I visualize the scene as it's playing out; have ever since I was a little kid, not just for RP but for books I'm reading, too.

I don't mind recurring appearances of the DRRR cast — in fact, I'm trying to figure out how to set up Kadota so he can reappear with some regularity, as I'm rather fond of him.

Kyan never felt comfortable with the role, and has had her life become extremely busy. She requested to step down recently. We will be having a round of auditions again when the hosts are back from break.
