He was a prince? Her mouth opened in a silent gasp. She should have known for the way he spoke it was not common unless you were of noble blood or an old folk. Ophelia suddenly felt foolish and bowed her head to him a little “A prince?? I’m sorry if I have offended you or anything.” She would feel crossed with herself if she had.
When he complimented on her passionate feelings. She lowered her gaze shyly to the grass and smiled to herself. She never in her dreams thought she would meet a real prince. At least not a prince that she would be speaking one on one with alone. She felt this odd twitch in her gut it almost felt like---what was it? Butterflies?
She looked up to him “That is a noble thing to say. I am sure you will find her one day.” Whoever it was, she would be lucky. He was a gentlemen; a rare gem that is hard to come by. She could never imagine herself finding a soquili like him.
Her eyes widen when she came to realization that she had been talking instead of resting like she was supposed to be. She nodded “You’re right. I probably should get some rest---I don’t want to waste your offer…”

“No you didn’t offend me.” He said to reassure her. He didn’t think the mare could even harm a fly and even though that wouldn’t win you any battles, it wasn’t a bad thing either. He could tell she was a very pure individual and someone that was a little naïve when it came to certain things. Though he had a lot to learn himself.
“Maybe, but either way I won’t hold my breath for her or for that day to come.” He said giving one final nod as his eyes fell on her for a moment. “Yes get some rest. I will stay here until you awake in the morning. Then after that we can either part ways or I will walk you back to your family lands.” He didn’t know which he would prefer since he didn’t find her as annoying or threatening as most others around the area. He was a little afraid she would run into that stallion again, but if he was still waiting around come sun up then he really needed a life or something better to do. He lowered himself onto the ground and flicked his wings open for a moment to give them a good stretch. When he felt the ache dissipate, he folded them gently onto his back once more.
He watched her contently making sure she was all right. He never had a friend before and he didn’t know what he would call her. They didn’t know each other that well, but he felt like he could say anything to her and she wouldn’t judge him. That was a good feeling to have. It was also a rare find. Most were always so quick to judge never giving a moment to just look beyond.
“Sleep well.” He was tempted to call her princess, but stopped himself. It was too early for something like that. He was never going to see her after day break. He was sure of it.
