With the large box fan set on high and her fluffy duvet covers keeping her warm, Seira had a rather peaceful night's sleep. The next morning, she awoke at around seven due to her alarm clock going off, which she had set right before going to bed. Because she had showered the night before, the only thing she did in the bathroom, other than her usual business was wash her face and put on the miniscule amount of make-up in the form of nude colored lip gloss and a small bit of mascara. It was cool outside, but in a nice refreshing manner. She slipped on a pair of light coffee colored leggings, aka, coffee with a few creams that turned it from black to a very appealing light brown and a long pink thin shirt with three quarter sleeves that came off of her shoulder slightly revealing the straps of her white cami top and completed it with a pair of brown crochet flats. She studied herself in the mirror. She wasn't unattractive. Sure, there were things that she wished were different. She wished she had a few more curves, especially in the chest area. Seira was not flat chested by any means, but it would have been nice to have a little more than what she already had. She had a cute face with a small button nose and round cheeks. All in all, pretty good, aside from the obvious lack of bosoms and curvy hips. Seira sighed. If only she looked a little more like Mariah. Now that was a girl who was stunning. She also didn't know just how gorgeous she was, that's what Seira liked about Mariah. She wasn't vain at all unlike some of the other girls she knew who thought their s**t didn't stink.

Syrina was still asleep in her tiny bed. She looked quite adorable with her beautiful auburn hair all mussed in tangles. Seira didn't have the heart to wake her. She went into the small kitchen to turn on the coffee pot and prepare some coffee before digging through her miniscule pantry for a zebra cake while her coffee was brewing. Once it finished, she poured herself a cup and added the usual condomints, which were three small cups of creamer, which could be found at those cafes and three packets of sugar. It was a form of OCD she had. If she couldn't have three each, then she wouldn't drink coffee. The same went with tea, even if there was already sugar in it, she still had to have the three extra packets and god forbid if they forget the lemon wedge. Seira then went into the living room and sat down on her rather comfortable couch and sipped her coffee and finished off her small cupcake. She was about to turn on the television when she heard a familiar voice just outside her door.

Seira sighed. The a*****e had her number. Why didn't he call first? Well, it was a good thing she was already dressed and hadn't lolled around in her night clothes like she usually did when she didn't have to get up early. She stood up, her coffee cup in hand and crossed the living room to open the door for him. "Well, well, well, look at what the cat dragged in," she said smirking over her steaming cup. "What're you doing here so early?" she stepped back in case he wanted to come in. Sadie, her cat, appeared out of nowhere as was her custom and began to wind herself around Aiden's legs purring and giving off her smaller and sweeter meows, which she only gave off when she wanted to be cute just to get attention, hoping to get a few scratches under the chin. Seira picked up the cat with one arm and looked up at Aiden. "You wanna come in? I just put on some coffee," she said holding up her cup that she held in the other hand.

Aiden stepped into the penthouse, hesitant to speak. He looked down at her coffee mug after a lasting gaze toward Seira, gently prying it from her fingers and taking a sip unto himself. He brushed past Seira's right shoulder, looking around a bit, and making his way deeper into the room. "Actually... I've already had my fair share of coffee this morning, but one more mug wouldn't hurt, right?" Aiden said shrugging his shoulders and taking another sip. His free hand dug deep into his pocket and rested there. Oh how he loved a fresh cup of coffee in the morning.

He took a seat on Seira's couch, reaching for the remote, and turning on her TV. The news was playing.
"I'm sure you've seen the news this morning.." The mug met his lips again.. Aiden crossed his legs before he continued "Ya know, Seira... I could use some company on my way to the market later today. There are some things I've been meaning to pick up. With demons running about outside, the imports on goods coming out this way is going to be limited. I'd like to get my hands on some goods before they disappear overnight. Four hands are better than two." He took another gulp of coffee before setting it down on the table in front of him. He left room beside him, encouraging Seira to come have a seat. "Can I ask you something..?"

Seira cut her eyes at Aiden as he took her coffee that she had been drinking and began sipping on it for himself. If she wasn't afraid of coffee spilling onto her nice carpet, she would have punched him in the throat for doing that. But as it was, she went back into the kitchen and poured herself another cup, adding the three sugars and creams and stirring it in before coming back into the living room and sat down in the recliner, nursing her mug. She ran her fingers through her hair. "Yeah, I watched it," she said. "That's some crazy s**t, huh?" Seira considered his question. "Hell, I need a few things too. Why not? After all, there's safety in numbers or whatever that old saying is." She took a sip of her coffee and perused him. How the hell could he be so chipper in the morning? She needed at least two or three cups of coffee before she was even the least bit pleasant.

"I also need to visit my friend later. The girl never really gets out much anymore and I'm pretty much her only company aside from a few annoying brothers of hers. So if you want to come with me, you can." Seira set her coffee cup down near his and sat back in the recliner. "Well, you know, you already did ask me a question, technically. But sure, fire away," she said curious as to what he could possibly want to ask her.

Aiden leaned forward in his seat, toying with the nearly empty mug that sat in front on him. He looked outside the window to his left, as if making sure the two were in privacy before turning back to face her. "You're the first person I've seen who could manipulate the earth to your will. This isn't something you get to see everyday, nor is it expected of humans..." Aiden wiped his mouth turning the other way for a brief moment. He was trying to choose his words rather carefully but his curiosity wouldn't allow it. He turned toward her again. His eyes meeting hers deeply. "You didn't happen to be involved in the events that occurred 5 years ago were you? What exactly are you? Aiden said as his eyes narrowed toward her. The city welcomed plenty of its habitants, but they didn't want the war, fought between the Keepers and the Fallen to travel within the walls of Zion. The likes of which were prohibited and subjected to exiled. Although the Gate Keepers were more beneficial to have around in case of potential threats, the world, with exception of few other places, hadn't come to except them. Zion officials were urged to arrest/detain any "Hex", as they were called, and report them immediately. Exile would follow. Zion had the largest militia in terms of size and strength compared to many of its neighboring cities and sought to take care of threats on their own. Neighboring cities who lacked defenses and resources welcomed Gate Keepers, in hopes that they would aid in restoring their land.

Seira ran her fingers across the smooth eggshell white color of her coffee mug. The coffee was now luke warm and not as good anymore. She set it down on the coffee table before turning her cinammon brown eyes upon Aiden, not blinking at his question. She had felt thsi question coming sooner or later. After all, she wasn't exactly human. "It's a little hard to explain," she said. "I am what is called a Gate Keeper. In a way, we are protectors of this realm. We basically keep the demons in check and sometimes fight much more powerful enemies. You asked if I was part of the incident that happened five years ago. The answer is....yes. I was only about thirteen at the time. I was still new to this whole Gate Keeper thing. To be honest with you, I guess you could say I was a replacement. The last Earth Gate Keeper was someone named Kyrad. He was killed in battle years back. He was much more powerful than I could ever be." Seira sighed, unsure of what to tell him next.

"My brothers...Yuri and Noel, they were Gate Keepers as well. They were both the leaders. Yuri controlled Light and Noel controlled Darkness. Then there was a girl, Mariah who controlled Water, another named Thealos who controlled Fire, then Ariel who controlled Lightning, then Zagi...Wind. Finally there was me and I controlled Earth, or more importantly....Nature. I wish I could give you more details, but I don't feel too comfortable yet. All you need to know is that on that day five years ago, I lost both of my brothers. One of them betrayed us and the other perished trying to save myself and Mariah who were the only ones alive. Everyone else had been killed." Seira was about to say something else when a voice interrupted. "You could tell him about Guardians as well," Seira jumped to see Syrina hovering in front of her before turning to Aiden. "Forgive Seira. She's been trying to hide me from you for the longest time. I'm Syrina. I'm Seira's protector and Guardian."

Aiden listened carefully as to what Seira had to say. He was growing somewhat uncomfortable as the situation had began to come to light. An actual "Gate Keeper" stood in his presence, and Aiden was blind to see it. He stood from the couch and took a few steps toward the glass window as Seira continued to speak. He shook his head in disbelief.

A foreign voice called out form Seira's direction. Troubled, Aiden reached for his blade, resting his hand on the hilt. His eyes peered toward Seira in hopes of finding the source of this foreign body.
"What the hell...?" Aiden said to himself. A beautiful young fairy stood before him. Aiden grew tense in light of the current situation. "Guardian...? You're....a Hex?" Aiden said to Seira as if trying to confirm his own beliefs. "Why haven't you told me this, Seira? You could be in grave danger here in Zion. I could be in danger! If Zion officials were to find out that I was accompanying one of your kind without informing them, we'd both be caste out..maybe even killed!" Aiden walked about the apartment in distress. Never before had he been so troubled. This was seemingly his first encounter with a Gate Keeper and their Guardian, and from his point of view, he didn't want to be caught up in their war. What was he to do?

Seira ran her fingers through her hair, now flustered in regards to Aiden's reaction. Not to mention, Syrina just popping up out of nowhere didn't help things. The young Gate Keeper lightly pinche Syrina's large light blue wings and pulled her out of the way. "Aren't there some flowers that need some singing to or help growing out there?" she asked, frustrated at the moment before approaching Aiden slowly. "Yes, I'm a Gate Keeper and she's my Guardian," Seira said indicating Syrina who glared at Aiden as if insulted at the fact that she had been referred to as a Hex. "Look, Aiden. I didn't exactly ask for this. It's not like I really had much of a choice. You should have known that I wasn't normal the minute you saw me use my abilities that first time a long time ago." She picked up the two coffee mugs, one empty, and the other only half empty, but she was still going to toss it out and took them to the kitchen and put them in the dishwasher before coming back out again.

"I'm well aware of the consequences. I've done the best I could to be careful. I mean, if I had somewhere else to go, I would leave Zion, but I don't. I still have family here, a mom that needs me. It's not like I can just pack up and leave like a lot of people could." She narrowed her eyes at him. "If you feel uncomfortable, then I'll understand if you never even speak to me again. However...you seem to be quite adept at fighting these demons almost as good as I am. If you are ever looking to team up against them, you can just give me a call. You have my number. But just be careful out there. Don't just go looking for trouble."

Slowing to a stop as he paced back and forth in the penthouse, Aiden rested his hands on a countertop, leaning over onto his arms. He lifted a hand to his face, wiping his mouth, speaking with his head toward the table. "What of your mother? Does she know of anything you're doing? Does she know you go out hunting demons? Saving my a** on occasion? My mother would definitely not approve." Aiden said trying to lighten up the situation as best he could. Still this newly found information was a bit overwhelming. "What are you fighting for anyway...? This planet has gone to s**t since your incident 5 years ago... So many people have died. Potentially billions of people.." said Aiden as he questioned her. Maybe he was going a bit too far. He turned away, looking out the window again. "I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable... I just..... I just don't want to get caught up in your war. There is little we, or any of us could do to change what already has happened..." Aiden said as he walked back towards the living room area. He took a deep breathe massaging the hilt of his blade. She had to know where the others were located. After all, she was one of them. "This friend of yours... Is she a 'Gate Keeper' too?" Aiden said as he waited for a response. He leaned against a nearby wall putting his free hand deep into his pocket. He very well should have known they're was something more to Seira than he had previously thought, but his denial wouldn't let him confront the truth of the matter.

Seira wished he would stop asking so many questions. Aiden had seen her in action before, so why was he interrogating her now? And why did he keep caressing the hilt of his sword? She eyed his weapon with suspicion for a brief second before lifting her eyes up to his. "There are certain things my mother doesn't need to know about what I do with my life. If she knew, it would only put her in even more danger than she already is. I think it's best to keep her in the dark. She's already lost three of her children, I have no intention of dying and forcing her to lose me as well." She folded her arms across her chest and leaned against the counter, her tailbone lightly grazing the edge in a rather uncomfortable, but not unbearable way. What was she fighting for anyways? That was a question she asked herself every single day. She was the only one fighting when everyone else had seemed to have given up and accepted things the way they were right now.

"I don't know why I'm still fighting. Maybe it's because I refuse to accept things the way they are right now. Maybe it's my destiny as a Gate Keeper to keep fighting these demons and the Corrupted. Maybe..." she trailed off, biting her tongue against revealing the biggest truth, the truth about the brother who had betrayed them all. "I'm not going to force you to join forces with me. Lord knows the last thing I want to do is put someone in danger, but I do see your potential. I won't ask you again," she said with a shrug before falling silent for a few moments until he asked about Mariah. Seira nodded. "Yeah, she's like me, except her abilities and fighting style are...or used to be much different than mine. She's sort of become a bit of a recluse now. But long ago, she used to be the strongest female of us Gate Keepers physically. No one could throw a punch or deliver a kick quite like she could. But...well, certain events lowered her spirits I guess you could say. I really don't think it's my place to explain Mariah to you." Seira's eyes met with Aiden. "This is the life I chose for myself. I accepted the consequences. There's really no way for me to turn back now."

Aiden nodded his head, gently biting the inside of his cheek. Seira was someone he trusted with his life, and he had little reason not to trust her now. After all, she hadn't lied to him thus far.

Who were the Corrupted and what was their purpose? Maybe something's were best left unknown. Then again, they may have been the ones to have caused this mess. Aiden made his way slowly toward Seira, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Seira..... For your mother, your brothers....this war you fight, for everything!" Aiden made his way to the kitchen area, grabbing a bottle of water and taking a large sip. He glanced over to Seira, resting his forearm on the arm of the refrigerator door. "I won't get in your way, and I'll help you if I can." He paused for a brief moment, looking back into the fridge, as if to break eye contact. "I'm actually honored to be standing here with you right now." Aiden said with a nod looking back up towards her. He looked outside, taking another sip of water. "Should we be going? I wouldn't want to keep your friend waiting. I've still got groceries to gather for later tonight at the market."

Seira did not react to Aiden's sympathy. She had received it many times from other people. However, he was the only person whom she had told the truth now. Everyone else had received different versions of the story of how her brothers had disappeared, more acceptable and mundane versions that didn't involve anything even remotely abnormal. She forcefully swallowed back the lump in her throat and spun around on her heels, turning to him with a wide grin on her face and her hands on her hips looking almost like the carefree young Gate Keeper she had been years ago, but still not quite reaching that point. "Well now, let's not be melancholy today. I'm sick of thinking sad thoughts, aren't you?" She said it more for her benefit than anyone elses. If she thought about her brothers and everyone else she had lost, she might start breaking down right then and there in front of him. She shooed him away from the refrigerator so that she could also grab a large bottle of water, mostly to wash away the aftertaste of the coffee.

There was the fluttering of small wings as Syrina appeared in the kitchen, stopping right in front of Aiden and hovering. Seira wondered what she was about to say now. Syrina was never afraid to speak her mind, so it was always rather interesting. "I've decided that I don't like you one bit, but I'm going to be good for Seira's benefit. However, if you do anything to harm her physically or emotionally, I promise that I will ram vines up every orafice of your body," she threatened, her beautiful jade green eyes gleaming threateningly. Seira had to bite back a life. Syrina had always been quite graphic for a fairy. "Right...Syrina. I really don't think that would be necessary." she turned to Aiden. "She's just really protective of me, that's all." Syrina glared at Aiden before flying off and settling herself inside of Seira's large purse that rested on the counter. Seira picked up the purse and slung it over her shoulder. "We ready to go?" she asked.

Aiden came to an abrupt halt as the small green fairy bolted out in front of him. He raised his shoulders slightly in shock. This small fairy didn't seem too fond of Aiden. He relaxed his shoulders as Syrina concluded expressing her dislike toward him. He looked her up and down, only slightly having to scroll his eyes. "Cute......" Aiden said with a nod, slightly intimidated by the small figure. He took a sip of water grabbing his motorcycle helmet from the couch. He turned to Seira was he gathered his things. "Passionate companion you've got there, eh? I'm quite jealous.." said Aiden as he walked towards the elevator door. He always carried a swagger about him that said he wasn't afraid of anything. He stepped into the elevator. and turned to face its open doors. "Ready as we'll ever be, I suppose."

The two made their way downstairs and out of the apartment complex. The air was meek and the artificial light illuminated the city. It was supposedly 2 o clock in the afternoon, but people had long since forgotten what time of day it was. It was saddening to know that some of the children that occupied the city had never rested their eyes upon the sun. Even sadder still, knowing those children who enjoyed roaming through the grassy fields outside the city would no longer indulge in such...privileges. "I've only got a few things to grab while I'm out. If you didn't want to keep your friend waiting, we could make the visit."

Seira would have stuffed her hands into her pockets if her leggings had possessed any, but instead she kept them at her sides and plodded after Aiden rather ungracefully as he stepped into the elevator. The two of them rode the elevator down to the first floor where the lobby was. Seira waved to the receptionist on duty before stepping out into the artificial sun. It was depressing that so many people had never seen the real sun. Seira, herself, could barely remember what it felt like upon her skin. She could barely remember the feel of grass under her feet. If there was grass in the city, it was artificial and didn't feel even remotely close to the real thing. Those who tried to travel outside the city were punished quite severely, no matter their ages. Parents were forced to keep a firm hand on their children, for the authorities did not hold back on their punishments. It sickened Seira to see these children deprived of any sunlight and warmth. Forcing the bitter thoughts from her mind, she climbed behind Aiden onto his bike and fastened the second helmet he carried for passengers.

"My friend can wait. She's not expecting me at any certain time," Seira said over the roar of the bike. Seira dropped in on Mariah at unexpected hours constantly, why should today be any different? "Let's grab the stuff you need first." If they were going to the grocery store, then she might find a few things she needed as well. If they were going somewhere else, well, then she supposed that browsing never hurt anyone. She made herself as comfortable as possible on the back of the bike, but she could already feel the rather uncomfortable seat digging into her rear end and leaving an embarrassing imprint. "Let's hurry up and go because my a** is already falling asleep," she said in an effort to rush him along.

Aiden tightened his helmet and took hold of the clutch on his bike. He revved the engine twice glancing over his shoulder through his visor toward Seira. "You got it.." Aiden said as the bike sped off into the distance. Driving was one of the few times Aiden felt the wind brush against his body. The air in the dome sat idly. "You should let me massage that backside of yours when we're finished, eh? You know, because doing it yourself would be a bit difficult." said Aiden as he slowed down entering the marketplace. He was always a bit vulgar when it came to his attraction towards Seira. His sense of humor was one to be....noted.

There was still plenty of food and goods to go around. He dismounted his bike, leaving his helmet attached to its handle bar.
"I just need to get some ammunition. I got my hands on a new sniper rifle I have housed back at my place. Nothing wrong with sniping a few stray demons near the dome." Aiden also needed to grab food. He didn't have much at home.

Seira wrapped her arms around Aiden's waist securely. Her body was jolted back briefly as the bike took off. Even through his shirt, she could feel the contours of his muscles as they rolled and shifted with each movement of the bike. There was no denying that he was very good looking and there were times when she fantasized about him as any normal young woman would do when they were acquainted with the very appealing branch of the opposite sex. Yet, Aiden's next words caused her face to flush crimson. She covered it up by scowling and hitting him upside the head. Of course, her hand hit the hard plastic of the helmet, but she thought she got her point across quite well. "Just keep your eyes on the road and get your mind out of the gutter," Seira said quite flustered.

Their destination was an indoor marketplace that sold everything ranging from weapons to food to clothes and accessories and make-up. There was even a small area where people could purchase pets and pet supplies along with many other items available for purchase. "It'll be faster if we split up. I need a few things as well. How about we meet back up front after we've made our purchases," she said. She turned and headed off towards the food section of the very large super market. Syrina poked her auburn head out of Seira's purse, beaming when Seira came to the cold cuts first and began perusing the meats and cheeses. "All I ask for is a one package of Muenster cheese," she said. Knowing that her Guardian would throw a tantrum if she didn't get her weekly dose of Muenster, Seira grabbed a pack and tossed it into her basket before moving on to grab a few packages of thinly sliced turkey and sliced cheddar before she moved away from the meats and cheeses and over to the bread and grabbed a loaf of very mouth watering french bread to make her sandwiches with.

After getting a few more things, including some drinks, a few boxed dinners, a few bags of chips and snack cakes, and some canned foods, Seira was ready to go. It didn't take her too long to find Aiden. She scent of his cologne reached her before she laid eyes on him. Yet, as she approached him, she heard another familiar voice calling out to her. "Seira! Is that you?" Seira knew that voice and groaned. It belonged to someone she had dated briefly for a short time. Well, they didn't really date, unless you count them going together to a dance when Sadie was around thirteen. But after that he had emailed her constantly, called her, begging to go out with her again. He was what many people would call, a stage five clinger. He had let up after awhile, but now she could see the hope in his eyes. She reached Aiden and grabbed his arm, pulling him to her so she could whisper to him. "Just do me this one tiny favor and pretend to be my boyfriend for a few minutes so this clinger will leave me alone. Don't ask questions. I don't have time to explain," she said, hoping he would comply.
