To her, the Ryoms were the problem, but slow realization of the situation became an eye-opener. In a sense, they weren't the problem, she was, and in several ways, not just one. Her nervousness, coupled with the fact her mind was bellowing, "The twins! Danger, danger!" despite their general concern for her had left her at a crossroads. Continuing her current state of body and soul was not helping, especially since she was holding up the class. This was her final internal warning: Get to work.
She dipped her chin at Hwan and as she stared at the hill of her knees. "I-it's okay..." she responded gently, her voice a tad raspy. Looking to him, she added, "A-and yes, riding... R-riding to make up for y-your jerkiness." She didn't smile at this small jab because she thoroughly meant it. Tit for tat, as they say.
Shaking her head at the offer they should leave her company, Shakuntala straightened her spine, and nodded her head again. "R-right, together..." It was definitely an encouraging piece of advice, though it didn't lift her spirits as much as she wished it would. That dawning spike of nervousness she had managed to quell by now was slowly burbling to the surface again, so the copper-skinned immediately began on her stretches without a signal or added agreement from the twins to start. The quicker she got her mind off the subject, the better.
(( Sorry for the wait on this and the crappy response. ^^;; ))

Relief flooded through him as Shakuntala shook her head and began to stretch. He wasn't completely convinced she'd recovered but pushing the issue much further would likely only result in embarrassment on her part and he began to warm his muscles up as well.
"If anything goes wrong, I'll catch you. Scouts gotta look out for each other, right?" If there was one thing the Ryoms were good at, it was teamwork. They'd grown up practicing it all their lives from adapting to a partner's mistakes to predicting a partner's movements. He'd never flown with the 3DMG before but he'd figure out some way to rescue her from a nasty fall or collision with a tree. Just like he'd try to help his brother and Larisa. Glancing at his double, he wondered if the calmer of the twins was feeling nervous about this at all. Jeong was good at keeping a hard to read smile on his face. Silently he cocked his head towards the trees to ask if his brother was ready.
If things went miserably wrong, the cool headed Shun leading the class would prevent them from killing themselves, right?
"C'mon, let's give it a try. We'll stop overthinking and just go by instinct! I'll go first. It's a bit scary but no worse than running laps with Santos, right?" Once his muscles were ready, he prepped the gear and after a deep breath, plunged into the trees!
It almost felt natural for a split second and he narrowly grazed against the side of his first tree. The mechanics were still weird to him but he tried to experiment with it. The second tree came all too quickly and he barely avoided it with a quick burst of gas that sent him inches out of harm's way. The rush of a successful dodge felt electric and the urge to boast to his brother bubbled inside him but before any words could come, he ran face first into a tree. Dazed and confused, he fell away from it.
Panicked at the sudden momentum as the world rose around him, desperate fingers triggered the gas again and he slammed into the same tree two more times before smacking his head hard enough to keep him down. Maybe Shakuntala had right to worry over these damn trees, he thought weakly.

"It'll be okay. Even if you fall, all of us are here for you." Jeong nodded from beside Hwan to Shakuntala. He hoped that the pep talks had honestly helped her and she wasn't trying to put on a brave face to get them to leave her alone. She seemed to be willing to try again so he finished doing stretches with the group and then nodded at Shun's instructions. This was a bit nerve wracking, as they'd never done the training before, so he listened more seriously than he'd expected to. Jeong had come into this thinking it'd be a little dangerous but fun in it's own way. For the other girl to react so badly before they'd begun the practice didn't seem like a good sign.
"Hey it's time for a rematch, Risa. We'll do two complete runs of the course and whoever hits the most trees loses!" His pride still stung from the horse riding class loss. Jeong hadn't expected to be so naturally good with his mount but it'd been lame to fail right at the end! Now that he had a shot for taking the blonde on again, he was all for it. Watching Hwan begin, Jeong gave him some time to get a few seconds head start before attempting the course a little behind him.
As he began, Jeong managed to watch Hwan and try to mimic the actions that looked good. He swung up and through the trees with a close start but passed through the course without any serious problems until he almost caught up with his brother. Brown eyes widened as then he witnessed Hwan crash directly into a tree, dizzily spin off of it and then ram right into the next one twice.
"Hwan! s**t!" He had to have a concussion after that! Panicked, Jeong slammed his own gas to hurry over and check on his twin. He overshot it, due to inexperience with actually stopping, and slammed right into the tree above Hwan's crumpled body. Sliding down the bark with his face implanted, the second of the boys flopped to the ground and simply laid there, trying to recover.
Welp, looked like that first aid training for bloody noses was about to come in use for a second time.

Larisa nodded eagerly as Shun warned her about the very real possibility of getting hurt, still too excited by the prospect of finally beginning to learn to be put off by the danger. She settled into her gear as the twins worked through stretches with Tala and fidgeted around with pent up as she waited for the practice to start. And yes, here it was! She turned a cheerful smile towards Jeong as he spoke to her, and then nodded again.
"Alright, let's do it!" It felt a little silly to be so proud of it, but she still hadn't entirely gotten over the fact that she'd won that race despite all the troubles that she'd had. Another win today, on the gear that she'd joined the military to get her hands on, would have been more than wonderful. So she had to take this very carefully and make sure she did as well as possible! Hwan was on his way through now, so she studied his movements, and then Jeong's as he took off a few seconds later.
And then, feeling as though she'd already wasted to much time, the blonde burst into the trees after them. The first was all too easy to miss, a neat twist taking her around it, but her delighted laughter kicked her balance off just enough to make the next less perfect. She'd have some scrapes from grazing it, but she hadn't expected to be perfect yet! She was doing really well for a first try, she thought, and it was entirely possible she would have kept doing well if she hadn't suddenly noticed how the twins' runs had turned out.
Larisa gasped, shifting to move towards them and see if they were alright, and grazed another tree as she did so. That was alright though, all she had to do was a little correcting and- "No no no, that's too much, wait-" Panicking as she realized she'd over corrected, she braced herself as well as she could in the split second of time she had. The crash still took the air out of her, though, and it took her a moment after the crash to get her mind back on track.
Woozily, she looked around to check where she was in relation to the twins and then pressed forward to close the distance. Her side slammed into the next tree but it hadn't been a full crash, at least. She dropped to the ground beside them, clutching her side with a grimace, and leaned over. "Do you need any help?" She had a sinking feeling that she was going to need some of her own before the day was done, but it was definitely worth it for those moments inbetween when there'd been nothing but air.

Shun waited on the ground initially to watch some of the others give a go. The twins crashed a number of times, which he expected to some degree. Even so, see them faceplant into the last tree before sliding down had him slowly shake his head to himself. They'll learn. Or maybe they won't and just end up with a lot of scrapes and bruises by the end of this.
He wasn't about to just sit around and watch everyone, however. After all, signing up for being a TA was partially so he could get more practice, himself.
Being somewhat more experienced than the beginners, he managed to go on through the course without outright crashing into any trees. It was hardly a perfect, run, however. A few times his arm brushed against the bark, while another he hit the side a little more firmly. That smarted, some.

Shakuntala took her dear, sweet ol' time stretching; every muscle, tendon, fiber of her being pulled taut and relaxed. Of course, it was pretty obvious she had used this cycle of bends and squats to stymie the inevitable, but she did have the intention of going to, in her own mind's view, prepare an example for onlookers who have never used the gear and would need an example. She was a little late on the uptake, however; the twins were already zooming off on their own demonstrations. Not wishing to be left behind, the copper-skinned trainee took a deep breath, swallowed thickly, and finally shot out a trigger to the treetops above.
Regret, regret, regret.
Her feet that she felt most safe rooted to the ground or hooked into the stirrup of a horse's saddle suddenly flung outward as if they were wings attempting to keep her aloft. As she flailed herself to try and right her wrongs, crack! Shakuntala's side smack deftly into the side of a tree. And then another smack, a miss (much to her surprise; maybe luck was on her side?), a slight brush, and one more solid impact to a branch to signify the end of her first run and her desire to just give up already.
The cables to the 3DMG made a whining whirr as Shakuntala triggered one of the grapples to return to her side so she could make a landing. Coming to a skidding halt, she let out a sigh as a leaf fluttered from her locks and landed beside the heel of her foot. Her head looked like a bird's nest brimming with sticks, chips of bark, and even more leaves poking out in various angles. Turning her head over her shoulder, she caught a glimpse of the twins unspectacular acrobatics, and her eyes widened in concern.
That couldn't be good!
Hustling over to their location, she lowered herself to their level down on her knees, and switched panicked eyes between their identical faces. "A-are you guys a-alright?!" she cried out in alarm. "S-should I get someone? Shun... S-should I get Shun?!"
By this time, the pain from her own faults radiated up the side of her hip. She ignored the pain, enduring it until she knew the others were fine. Looking up to Larisa as well, she added with concern wide in her eyes, "A-are you okay as well? T-tell me you are..."

It hurt to open his eyes but Hwan forced his body to complete the action and raise his head at the sound of his brother's voice. Blood smeared from his nose but he was too dazed to really notice or care. Several eyes peered down at him nervously as if they were surprised he was still conscious. Jeong, Larisa and Shakuntala crouched beside him in various states of well-being and he let out a pained chuckle at the leaves and greenery sticking off their clothes and hair. They all looked like hell right now. Nearby he could hear the sound of Shun finishing the course and loopily wondered if the TA was grading them or not.
"Help? Who needs help? I'm alive, I can do it-" His words were a little slurred and mumbled but at least he was breathing and able to think. A throbbing pain rippled through the front of his face with every heartbeat though and he hoped he wasn't hideous looking. It felt like the impact had dented his head though he knew that wasn't true.
"Walls, I'm so tired." It was the last thing he said before he slumped back down and passed out.
((Thanks for the RP, Kuroda! I think Hwan is about done here but people can respond to him if they need to post more.))

"Oh! Um, I'm fine, don't worry about me! What about you?" Larisa looked a little startled to have been worried over, figuring the twins' worse state would have held the other trainee's attention longer, but she hurried to return the concern. She hadn't been able to see Shakuntala's run, but it was hard to miss the leaves and twigs in her hair. Larisa hoped she'd had a better time of it than the three of them had and she really really hoped the twins got up soon because it was not a good sign they were still just laying there, was it?
As if in answer, Hwan's eyes popped open and he began to speak. The way his words slurred was bad enough, but the passing out was definitely the worst reaction. Yelping, she cast a quick glance around for Shun. Had he seen them crash? He was in charge of the lesson, so he'd come help, right? Or maybe he just hadn't seen and was still going through the course? They couldn't wait that long to get Hwan help! And what if Jeong passed out next? Could she and Tala carry them both?
"Should I run for a nurse, or do you think we can get him there?" She couldn't remember if they were supposed to move people with head injuries, and what a stupid thing to forget. What were those first aid lessons for if she was just going to forget them?

Lenore had overslept, having stayed up the night before reading a book. Yawning, she made her way to the course. She had done more "titan" slaying than most last time, but it was clear to her that she still needed practice. The twelve year old arrived in time to see Larisa and Shakuntala standing over a prone pair of twins. Blinking once, she pointed at them as she called out to the two. "Are they alright...?"

"Well it's safe to say..." Jeong wiped at his nose with a handkerchief, "We weren't prepared for that." He'd stopped bleeding now but his brother's condition worried him. His head throbbed from the collision and it was a little questionable how well he could walk but at least he could focus his vision if he tried. Wobbling, he crawled over to check on Hwan and bit his lip when his twin passed out.
"Could you help me get him to the infirmary?" He glanced up at Larisa and Shakuntala from the ground. Jeong believed if he tried really hard he'd be able to walk himself there but carrying Hwan right now did not feel like a good idea. Staggering to his feet, he began trying to pull his brother up so he could be lifted and let the girls decide if they wanted to continue on with class without them or not.
"Just a little accident but we'll be okay." The teen nodded to Lenore, though he did not look as good as he hoped he did. Swaying slightly, he tried to look tough by pushing through his fatigue as to not scare the 12 year old girl, not knowing she'd already learned the gear and could currently swing circles around him.
((Yeah thanks for the RP! We'll have to RP again sometime, Kuroda! Sorry to send Jeong away but he's got to take care of his brother!))

Lenore gave the twin a blank stare, but otherwise said nothing. Stepping over to the assorted 3D Maneuver Gear, she strapped a smaller one on to herself before casting another curious glance at the gathered trainees.

Shakuntala let out a breath of relief upon finding out nothing was wrong from the blonde, loop-tailed trainee. Giving her a rather embarrassed simper upon plucking a branch from her hair, she shook her head and replied, "I-I'm just fine... Took... T-took a few hits here or there, but I-I'll live." Casting her maroon eyes back on the twins, she made it pretty obvious no more concern should be directed her way. Those two needed help. Pronto.
The option of bringing a nurse over sounded easier than moving the twins. Considering their state, it seemed best not to move them too much, but Jeong spoke up before she had a chance to say so. Her lips pried back in a thin line of concern and disapproval of his desire to take his brother to the infirmary. Neither of them should've been moving, as she thought was a better option, but noticing the twin get to his feet tilted her thoughts towards approval. If he could walk, then maybe it would be for the best.
"Let's... L-let's just take them to the i-infirmary," she responded to Larisa with a nod. "I'll h-help anyway I can... Should I, um, g-grab his arm?"
Upon the appearance of Lenore, she gave her a somber smile and a nod with it in regards to the twin's explanation to her. Going into detail of the accident would probably bring about more alarm, which the trainee was hoping to avoid. Widespread panic certainly wouldn't help the state of a downed victim.

Larisa nodded, glad both that Shakuntala was alright and that Jeong wasn't quite as bad off as she'd worried. That didn't exactly mean he was doing well, she noted as he wobbled, but he was walking and even trying to carry his brother, so it wouldn't be as hard to get them both to the infirmary. As she moved forward alongside Tala to help, a new voice cut through the air. Momentarily distracted, she glanced back and was surprised to see that Lenore had arrived. Had she come for practice too?
"Oh, um, they'll be okay!" She really really hoped so, anyway. "But they're going to need some rest, so we're going...Ah, if you were here to practice, the instructor was, umm...!" Belatedly it occurred to her that she'd never gotten his name. That was a little embarrassing. "Well he'll be through the course soon, I'm sure!" She glanced around in hopes of spotting the trainee turned teacher and waved widely at the flash of movement in the trees she'd spotted. There, if he'd seen that would call his attention over here for Lenore, right?
"But um, please be careful, okay?" Nodding to the younger girl again, she turned back to helping with Hwan. Three people might've been more than was technically needed for carrying one, but Jeong was still pretty unsteady on his feet, so he'd probably need support too! And she'd be too worried to focus on anything else unless she knew for a fact they'd made it there alright.
((Just getting in a last post for Larisa too, so don't worry too much about replying to her since she's off to the infirmary! Thanks for the fun roleplay though, even if everyone got all beat up, haha!))

Lenore tilted her head at Larisa, but said nothing. If it was taking all of them to get back, it was probably worse than they said. However, it didn't really have anything to do with her. As the group departed, Lenore fired her grapples into a tree trunk overhead and launched herself at it. Landing safely, She made her way through the trees with great speed. She dodged the first one cleanly, but the rest not so much. Grazing two, clipping one, she ended the run by hitting the last tree dead on. As she fell, she fired the grapples into the bark and slid to a stop. Well, this was why she needed to practice. Blade Kuroda Sorry about this, but could you post at least once more? Shun furrowed his brow, watching the others fuss over the brothers. Perhaps he was partly responsible for that, letting them go ahead when they had no prior experience. But he had warned them. It was on them to have gone on with it anyway. He came up towards Lenore after he had finished the course, grunting lowly, "The class is over, given how just about everyone went off to nurse their wounds."Shaking his head to himself, the wires sprung out from his 3dmg back to the trees. They had barely covered what he was planning, given how that was simply the warm up, but he wasn't going to let the fact that he had just lost all his students in one go deter him from getting any personal practice in.
