Stryke realized suddenly he did in fact have a place in this very place that was suddenly caught up in turmoil and dispute. "i had a place in the Bungalows...near the beach. i dunno what's going to happen me and Skink-Dad moved into a rebel base before all the fighting broke out and been doing training for the last week." He confessed with some sense of apprehension and worry.

Taking leadership might have had it's merits but with the two higher blood cast trolls, and his unimposing size it wouldn't have made sense. Stryke didn't need to encounter either trolls wrath magically, he could keep his pride in tact and help out. Ryk made use of himself in other ways however the sort of pissing contest going on between the taller trolls was fairly amusing earning a raised brow and a snicker at some point.

At Kursha's comment he stopped his busy work, nearly dropping his supply bag. "oh..yes i do, a ways from here. i hope my hive will be alright, building a new one would sssuck all my books are there." The smile was taken from the yellowbloods face. Stryke didn't have much to say on the matter, the reality was he might not have a home to come back to by the end of things. He didn't agree to packing up the supplies but was already doing so to keep his mind occupied. What else was he supposed to do?

“I heard you took it on bare-handed too,” Kursha chimed. He was a little doubtful. He had seen how big that lusus was. Such a feat seemed... unlikely. Before he could press Ganyma further, Stryke mentioned his concern over the books back at his hive. Kursha gave a derisive snort. It was a waste of space in his opinion.

Kursha was forced to quicken his space as Ganyma did not seem to understand that Kursha was the one who was leading. He tried to keep his strides as long but the older troll still had a few inches on him. Kursha had to move at what was almost a jog. It was rather an ungainly walk and he was not sure whether his pride was more wounded by how ridiculous he looked or how he was falling behind. In the meantime Ganyma asked him about his own reasons for joining the rebellion. For an instant, Kursha's face cracked. Then his grin returned bigger than ever. He waved a hand dismissively.

“Nothing much,” Kursha admitted. “It seemed like fun! And besides,” he continued, “What's so great about being just another mindless drone, serving the empire? We're basically slaves, motivated only by our sense of self-preservation. You'd have to be blind or an imbecile to subscribe to the constant stream of steaming s**t the highbloods serve us.” He packed as much venom into his words as possible in the hope that the Colonel would be able to hear them. She was probably too high up, but still he hoped. Then he remembered his present company.

“But really, I just like the idea of mixing things up a bit!” he added quickly. “We may not change anything, but at least we'll stand out from those who sat back and did nothing!” Energised by his outburst, he pranced ahead and made big motions with his arms.

Ganyma is reinforcing the OHC Asylum and has apprentice construction (2d6)

"Is anyone there?" Ganyma chimed into the radio. Nothing. Not even static. "Hello?"

He shook the device a few times before his thumb accidentally pressed the "ON" button once more. A green light blinked on. "Oh!" remarked the tealblood. He cleared his throat and looked around him.

"This is Ganyma of Just Vigilance. We're currently makin' our way back to the Shipwreck for the morning, but we did come into some contact with royalists today. I'm gonna ask for, uh, construction back-up on the, uh, Asylum as soon as possible. I've left all the materials n' salvage stuff, so.... That's all,"

His command petered out. He wasn't particularly good at giving orders over the radio, but at least he made the effort before brightfall.

Waiting his turn at the radio, Stryke took hold of the device and after a bit of instruction on it spoke clearly and calmly. "is anybody able to join in for deployment assignment?" While the yellowblood hadn't tried speaking into one and calling for back up seemed a little strange not being able to see who he was speaking to and all.

Obviously he'd done something right, at first there was nothing but silence. "this is Stryke of just vigilance, requesting troops for deployment." He let go of the button on the radio staring with baited anticipation as the seconds ticked by.

Ryk was surprised when three different voices responded back stating they were in the area, and were ready for development at a moments notice. "understood, i will sssend you the coordinates in a following transmission." some amount of excitement had the short troll on the edge of his seat eyes manic nearly. This felt like some kid of spy mission, and focusing on all the details of the situation and watching them come together made for smooth sailing.

Ganyma is reinforcing the luxury docks; apprentice construction (2d6!)

"Oh! One last thing..." Ganyma sputtered back into the radio. He hadn't taken his thumb off of the button any way. "Same with the Docks. Should be lots of good stuff there -- we checked it out after the demolition. Real nice."

Ganyma was tired and wanted to hit the 'coon. Hopefully the troll at the shipwreck wouldn't come back and attack them or anything. A portable sleeping-coon was exactly what he needed this morning. He recalled how fortunate it was that he'd been able to salvage and pile up materials for the rebels at the Docks. Such a shame a swanky place like that was getting so ... Disturbed!

Once construction was complete on the Old Asylum, Stryke took over the radio again eyeing the map before pressing down the button connecting with the three defenders he'd connected with either. "the three of you are off to old hemisect asylum. coordinates 2,3 if you need an exact location. thanks, good luck guys!" he added in a touch awkwardly unsure what else to say.

They were risking their lives, much like how he and his team had earlier that day. Only they were running out of night light, while they safely made this way back to the shipwreck where they could spend the morning and day, until the evening when they could add-in more contributions to the war effort. With the defenders sent off, he could feel the need for sleep hitting him hard. The yellow blood found himself a spot to curl up, the portable coon would suffice along with his ever watchful lusus.

Result of Action: 3 troops were deployed to Old Hemisect Asylum.

Apparently, it was time to randomly shout orders into the radio. Except not even shout because his team-mates were tools and seemed to think that polite requests were actually going to get them results. As if.

“Give me that.” Kursha snatched the radio out of Stryke's hands and then clicked on the transmitter. He was going to show these naïve fools how it was done. “When someone makes a request for back-up you show some ******** initiative and respond. There can't only be three of you,” he snapped.

There was a pause. Then a fourth voice crackled over the radio, saying that the radio microphone was quite sensitive and that there was no need to shout. Furthermore, he could really stand to learn some manners as well as take into account the meaning of request. Finally, the voice said, everyone was pre-occupied with their own tasks and availability was not always a guarantee. Nonetheless, they would be happy to help despite his inconsiderate and frankly abusive demands.

During the spiel, Kursha's face had turned green with indignation.

“Just... go the the Luxury Docks. 6, 5.” Kursha muttered. He fervently hoped that the owner of the voice would fall into the sea and drown, or better yet get eaten by some highblood's lusus. It was not really all that poetic, but its brutality was appealing.

Chucking the radio at Ganyma's head, Kursha stalked off to find some place to sulk. Why was it that whenever he seemed to be trying his hardest, things always turned out badly? Sometimes it felt like the world was conspiring against him. It was terribly lonely.

DAILY REFRESH!

It's a new day! Not much conflict has broken out, save for some guerilla-style destruction and rebuilding of bases. The mule feels as though some friendly neutral chaos is in order to keep things interesting!

Presenting, her newest creation: the Balancing Lever Used to Engage Surprise Happenstances, Equalizing Luckless Long Shots! With a flick of this lever, who knows what will happen?

Today's Happenstance: A mysterious troll has been dropping hints to juicy locations over rebel radio-waves. Your free coordinate is the Flea Market.

Each troll is refreshed and ready to go with 2 available actions.

Refreshers:
POSSIBLE ACTIONS ARE:

Build: Roll 1D6 to build on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the durability of the base. You can also build on friendly bases to add durability, up to a maximum of 30 durability. You cannot build on a coordinate that already has an enemy base on it.
Trolls with training in Construction get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Rally: Roll 1D6 to organize defenders, which can be assigned to any coordinate you have unlocked. The roll result determines the amount of defenders you have rallied. Defenders will be on stand-by until you mobilize them. Defenders are the second level of defense that can be assigned to protect a base. You must use defenders to take out defenders if you want to demolish an enemy base!
Trolls with training in Recruiting get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Demolish:
Roll 1D6 to destroy a base on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the amount of damage done to the durability of the base. At 0 durability, the base is destroyed. You cannot demolish a base with defenders assigned to it.
Trolls with training in Demolition get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Intelligence: Roll a new coordinate (2D6). If you roll a coordinate you have already unlocked, the roll is wasted.
Trolls with training in Intelligence get a bonus to their rolls:
Apprentice: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6)
Journeytroll: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6); if at least 1 of the coordinates is not unique, re-roll 2D6 until a new coordinate has been unlocked.
Master: Journeytroll effect OR select one new coordinate from another team and unlock it. You must post with roleplay in your own thread and the other team’s thread for this to take effect.
Grandmaster: Journeytroll effect OR Master effect OR… Roll 1 coordinate (2D6). If your allies control the coordinate rolled: add 5 durability and 5 defenders to that coordinate (may surpass the maximum durability/defender limit by 5). If your opponents control the coordinate rolled: it loses 5 durability and 5 recruits (does not apply if the numbers would decrease past 0). You additionally unlock the coordinate.

Mobilize: Choose one of two options:
1. Send defenders from your stand-by or a friendly-base you control to any friendly-base on a coordinate that you have unlocked.
2. Assault an enemy-controlled coordinate that you have unlocked using defenders from your stand-by. Defenders must be deployed to a base before they can assault an enemy base.

POST IN THE WAR ROOM THREAD IF:

You build a new base on a coordinate
You reinforce a friendly base
You assign defenders to a base
You assault a base
You do damage to a base
You destroy a base
You use the Grandmaster Intelligence perk to affect a base

Ganyma barely ducked out of the way of the radio and went to retrieve it. He hadn't noticed that Kursha was in a right bad mood! He wondered what had gotten into his britches. Perhaps he was homesick. As he picked up the radio, a hissy sputtering emerged. It was a voice he didn't recognize, relaying information. Very interesting information. "One new order! Make your way to the Flea Market! We'll construct there in the morning, okay?"

He clicked off the radio and followed after Kursha. "You okay, kid?" He asked, genuinely worried. The two made their way back to the Shipwreck at last.

Kursha had begun to scale the shipwreck when he heard footsteps behind him. He pulled himself over the rail onto the deck and then turned to look down over the hull. Ganyma waited below; he had chosen to follow. Kursha scowled. What was this buffoon thinking? Actually, more than likely he was not thinking. Kursha covered his lookstubs with a hand. He thought he had made it obvious that he wanted to be alone.

“I'm fine,” Kursha replied, voice sharp. “Now go away.” He did not wait to see if the older troll would oblige. Instead he worked his way up the leaning deck towards the prow. Hopping over the bulwarks, he sat down on the prow, where he could brood and watch the horizon. The sky was getting lighter but he still had some time before he would need to escape below.

The crackling of the team's radio woke Ganyma up immediately. He heard the alarm from all rebel forces -- both of his bases had fallen so quickly! Ganyma fretted, but he was mostly crestfallen. Those were his responsibility. He had to do better.

"Kursha! Stryke! Let's go!" He rumbled, and swung into the rebel transport. He slung his hammer across his back.

Stryke woke to the sounds of the radio, sitting up rubbing his eye some. He wasn't exactly fully awake when he heard Ganyma call out his name. The yellowblood blinked slowly, looking between the tealblood and the radio before readying to leave the space they'd shared for the night.

"I'll have to take in the new data and spend some time reviewing it before jumping into the heat of things. Any recommendations?" He nudged the older troll as he joined him, also bidding Kursha a hello with a tired wave and a yawn to follow. He peered at device, surprised by how quickly the board had changed just over the course of a few hours.

"You think if we put some love into these tinier bases it'll at least make for more targets while we discover more locations?" Stryke scratched his head with a worried frown.

Kursha's mood had not improved much during the day. When the message came through on the radio that their bases had not only been demolished but replaced, it definitely worsened. His mood was so foul that he did not even bother to return Ganyma's and Stryke's greetings. Instead he grabbed the radio. “Anyone near the Old Hemisect Asylum?” he barked into the microphone. There was a pause, and then a voice buzzed through the speakers. “Take it out. Raze the whole place to the ground if you have to.” He refused to be a loser.

Handing the radio off to Ganyma, Kursha turned his gaze to Stryke and managed something of a grin. It was tempting to lash out, but for now he needed to bury his fury. “All right, Double 'O'. How do you feel about doing a bit more scouting work for us while we hold the fort?”

Ganyma hadn't gotten a response from Kursha, but he nodded to Stryke. "Do what you need to do!" And he was off. While the greenblood sourly grumbled into the radio, Ganyma made himself useful. He swung time and time again at the flimsy walls of the base, fortunately scaring off any royalists that were there previously. And after... Well!

He certainly made some nice new acquaintances. Whose names he hadn't gotten. Bother. Ganyma grumped for a bit before returning to his mobile scrap pile to help with construction.
