As he held the squirming girl, he had to wonder what it was with Aludra and her obsession with whether or not a thing was boring. Still, it was with some relief that he watched her finish her search.
With a chilling smile curving his lips, he set the girl against the wall of the alley and gave her filthy hair a gentle caress as he spoke.
"Hush now. Be honored and take comfort in the fact that your life will give one of our great Queen's children sustenance."
Still smiling, he plunged his hand into her chest, fingers groping until they found her starseed and curled around it. Swiftly plucking it out, he held it where the girl could see the faint shine. He waited a moment, watching the light in the girl's eyes die out. Then, tipping his head back, he ate the starseed, shivering as the pure energy coursed through him, causing the various cracks and holes in his body to glow eerily.
Only when the rush that came with devouring a soul was over did Haumea turn his attention tot he pitiful corpse at his feet. It seemed a shame to waste it. And after his last hunt with Alkaid, he had such a wonderful idea for what to do with it.
Picking up the body, he strode past Aludra until they were back at the alley's mouth. It was time to leave a message for those who still resisted Metallia's rule. Setting the body down, he began to fuss with it, posing it almost artistically where it was sure to be seen.
"Find me a decent sized rock or bit of old pipe, would you?" he half-asked, half-ordered Aludra. Things were going to be a little messy, but hopefully not, he thought with some amusement, boring.

She had heard of course, about how it worked, but had never actually seen it. Aludra watched, eager and curious. She inched ever closer, as the hand went in and the out, starseed glowing softly in his grip. Then it was gone, into his mouth and down his throat, gone, gone, gone. The girl went with it, just a husk now that her life-force had been removed. Aludra wanted to touch the cracks in his skin, run her fingers over them, but she didn't dare, not this time.
The Corrupt crouched down beside the corpse, reaching out with one pale finger to move a lock of hair from the girl’s cheek. It was tender gesture but there was no remorse or sorrow in her gaze.
When Haumea gathered the body into his arms, she rose with them and followed him to the edge of the alley. She said nothing, merely did as she was told, finding both a rock and a long, jagged piece of timber. "Here." She offered him both.

Well well, so she could follow orders. It was good to know. Allowing the veriest hint of a smile to flicker across his face, Haumea accepted both timber and rock with a nod before turning tangerine eyes back to the girl's body.
"If you are the least squeamish," he cautioned in a soft voice, "I would recommend both standing back and turning away. This will be messy."
Then, kneeling, he went to work, methodically pummeling the girl's chest with the rock, ignoring blood and eventually tiny bits of flesh as he focused on her breastbone. He wanted cracked and broken bone. He wanted blood, however sluggish, and rent flesh.
He wanted to make sure that whoever found this pitiful little thing knew who had helped to engineer her end. Only when he was satisfied with his work did he drop the items and stand, ignoring the blood on his hands in order to pluck a single flower from his fuku and place it ever so carefully upon the battered mess of her chest.
Works of art were meaningless with a signature, after all.
"Time to go."

Aludra sat beside him as he worked, knees pulled up to her chest, watching the rise and fall of the rock. She listened to the crack of the bones and tearing of the flesh, the soft bubble of blood. This was an empty creature, a sac of meat that no longer held even a shred of life. Somewhere inside her she felt someone screaming, but the person in charge couldn’t seem to feel anything more than a vague interest in the process.
Blood splattered against her legs, her hands, one stray droplet on her cheek. She wondered what it would feel like if she was the one on the ground.
"Why?" She asked him.

Turning his head just enough to look at Aludra, Haumea considered the simple-yet-not question for a moment. This was the first time she'd not been flippant. She deserved a properly thought out answer.
"So they will know, beyond any doubt, who hunts them down. So they know that their silly resistance is futile."
He paused and absently wiped his bloodied hands across his pants, ignoring the rusty smears they left.
"So they know that they will never be safe for as long as they continue to fight against us. What I did to that girl I can do to them. If they will not serve Metallia, they will die."
He reached out a hand to help Aludra to her feet. Was she wondering if that could have been her had she not corrupted? He hoped so. He had no memories, fond or otherwise, of his brief time within the White Moon. All he knew was the Dark Kingdom and he much preferred it that way. And his methods, though brutal, served a purpose.
Which really? Was all he'd ever asked of Metallia. It was a pity that more couldn't experience that sense of contentedness.
"Was the answer good enough," he turned his focus outwards and actually smiled at Aludra. It felt... odd. "Or is it too 'boring'?"

“I see.”
Aludra accepted his assistance to rise, but her eyes didn’t leave the mutilated corpse. She wondered if it would work as intended or if it would simply make the forces of Order more defiant. In the end, perhaps they would have to do this to all of them, one after the other. In her heart she thought they would all perish before they knelt to Metallia. She hoped so. She would enjoy the fight.
But at least some would find this and weep. They would feel despair and Haumea’s efforts wouldn’t be a waste.
She smiled back at him. “This time it wasn’t boring. I hope next time is just as fun.”

"You are an odd little monkey, Aludra," he murmured, shaking his head slightly. He'd never considered what he did to be fun, though he could understand her sentiment. Exhilarating might have been a better word.
Still.
"If there is a next time, I will have to find a path and choke point for you to herd people into. It will be like flushing game out. Fun."Ruriska I think we can call this a wrap if you want. XD

She clapped her hands to her cheeks, smearing that drop of blood along her pale cheek. Her eyes were bright and full of delight.
"That sounds wonderful! I'm good at that! I promise I am!"
For somebody who had started out so boring, Haumea was turning out to be one of her favourites.
