That had probably been one of the most boring stories she had ever heard, well, barring her uncle going on and on about herbs. That was boring. Her uncle bored her to tears... She had no idea how her father had handled being raised by him.
Fortunately, she could make it interesting. She had her own stories and what did Ikkio care about embellishing? Of course, some of her stories needed a little more editing than embellishing, and she was no bard.
But she could lie like a fallen branch.
”When I caught my Zuzu...” she said, her voice low, purring, and most of all, bragging; ”It was an accident – I wasn't even looking for him at all. I was exploring, you see, around Ast – that is where I live, you see – when I found a whole nest of them!” she explained. So far, mostly true – she had found the Radaku nest by accident. ”I came back, day after day, to watch them from the trees where they couldn't get me.” she continued. Still true – she'd watched them often, wondering how to get one of her own. They'd been too big for her to take on her own, and she'd known she'd needed help. ”One day, I found their lair empty. All the big ones had been killed, and the little ones too...” she scrunched up her face in mock sorrow, ”It was a... predator... I think, something big, something mean...” She was lying now, but she was good at lying, putting the emphasis in all the right places, watching Aysun to see if her story would move him. ”Of course,” she purred, ”I thought the predator might be nearby, but I wanted to take that chance. I was only a little girl at the time.... Hmm... I don't know what I was thinking when I went into the lair, but... I found Zuzu...” she pet the Radaku's head softly, ”There. He'd been spared, you see.” she smiled at Aysun, her eyes glittering wickedly, delighting in her deception. It had, of course, been the ice man who had killed the radaku for her, who had handed her the radaku pup for her own. But this was her story, not his. He was not important. ”So, of course, I took him in and tended to him...” she smiled, ”Mmm... Would you call that miraculous, Aysun?” she asked him sweetly, smiling with her sudden inspiration, ”I would.” she added as an afterthought, glancing at the sprite, almost hungrily, ”It was very... miraculous.”

Aysun listened in with rapt fascination, his eyes wide, lips parted a bit, as Ikkio explained to him how she had come across her Radaku. It was a tale of violence, sadness, and at the end a miraculous triumph as a single radaku was able to walk away from the massacre of his pack. It was something unlike anything he'd ever heard before and he couldn't help but to be impressed, "Wow! I wonder what it was that got the better of his pack." He mused to himself, wondering if that sort of beast were still prowling around out there. Menzuri, maybe? Naw, they didn't attack, they just made webs and waited for something to walk stupidly into it. Witu didn't come into Jauhar, maybe it was a new predator that nobody knew much about? Something that was moving into the area to challenge the other top predators for territory and prey? "Man! I should look for it! See what it is that can hunt down and kill a whole pack of radaku! I bet it something really amazing and terrifying! Wait... maybe it would be too dangerous to try to track." He mused, wondering if he should see if his father would come along with him to find the thing, maybe it had young? Maybe he could train one of those too? Oh that would be an amazing addition to his army! He clapped his hands together, "Do you think you'd want to come along on the hunt? Maybe Zuzu there could track the thing since he knows it's scent? It would be neat! We totally should! Though I should bring my father along, if it can take out a pack of radaku the it's formidable and I don't even have a weapon yet." Nodding rapidly he said, "Yes! We have to do that! When do you want to go? Can you show me where the cave was? Maybe the beast that hunted down the radaku took it over!" He was excited now, making plans in his head that involved all sorts of sneaking around, stalking the predator, hopefully able to get in and out to snap one of its young or its eggs if it was from an egg laying species. He was all but jumping around in place now, ready to be on his way to the hunt as soon as possible... even though it couldn't be today, not when his father wasn't close enough to go and fetch straight away, "Soon? Want to go soon Ikkio?"

Ikkio, of course, knew what it had been: an ugly Ice man whose face and nature had been lost to memory as anything other than a tool – once used and almost discarded.
But she could not resist the tantalizing thrill of deepening her lie, especially as it led to... well. Observation time with this strange white-haired boy. And proper attention from him too. ”I'd love to.” she purred, thoughtfully, ”Though I'm not sure how much of a help Zuzu will be. It was a long time ago, after all, and he was but a pup...” she toyed with her radaku's mane, ”Still, he has a very good nose...”
It was hard to get a word in edgewise through the strange animal-boys talking, but she knew shed hooked him. She had his attention now, and that meant his animals attention too – which was what she wanted. ”Well then.” she said, ”Lets go?” she asked, starting towards the settlement and the old, probably overgrown and abandoned cave that she had raided long ago. Now that she had his attention, she needed to wrap him up in lies and manipulation. Then he would be useful.
Yes she eyed the sprite, Useful and interesting indeed
”What would you would do if we found this creature?” she asked casually, ”You sound like you have a plan.”

DraconicFeline Should probably see about wrapping this one, since it's rather old, but we can see about them having another adventure soon. Just say that the war times stuff got in the way of what they were planning here? Aysun looked at Zuzu before giving an 'aww' sound before grinning, "Oh man, you got him a pup and everything? That must have been so adorable! Was he small enough to carry? Did you carry him around? Oh! Did you have to hand feed him and everything? I bet that was quite adorable. He is quite the cutie after all, so I can only imagine what he looked like little." How he'd love to be able to see some little radaku pups he thought to himself, all that much more excited about the whole idea of getting to go out to find one of them for himself. "Let's go? Now?" He asked, looking thoughtful about it, he'd rather not take the whole group along if it was going to be dangerous, not to mention they would need supplies. He crossed his arms over his chest in a thoughtful manner before taking a few steps along with her, "We should probably make sure we are ready before we go, plan the adventure a bit, just in case we do find the creature that caused the radaku so much trouble." He suggested. What would he do if they found it? That was a good question, what would he do? He gave a thoughtful sound then said, "Well... if at all possible I'd say tame it, if that isn't a choice, if it's something too big or scary, then just observe it. I am pretty interested to see what it is though." He mused then said, "Plan, yeah, we really need one. We should see about gathering supplies, planning it out, then go out soon, maybe on an extended trip if that is what's needed for us to be able to safely observe the creature. Not to mention it will allow me to make sure all of my buddies stay at home."

Orpheus Solon Yeah. This is just before her fateful trip to Zena, so between the trip and the war... ”Barely.” she replied, amused. ”I was about his size at the time.” She was sure that Zumurundi had been cute in her arms when she'd tried to carry him as a child, all those years ago. ”I did have to feed him.” she said, ”He was, after all, my pet.” not that she hadn't tried to foist the hard work onto someone else... but her father hadn't been having any of it. Her father made her wary – he saw through her too easily. She was going to work on that, but with mother being far easier to manipulate, it wasn't worth the effort. Not yet.
She groaned inwardly when he started talking about 'plans'. Plans – of this sort, anyway -were boring. She wanted spontaneity, she wanted adventure. But... he did have a point. An expedition to find Radaku and the nonexistant predator would take supplies. And planning.
She sighed, her interest waning. Still, even with the planning and dullness, there was a chance to get into the boy's good graces. And his animals she thought, eying the sprite again to remind herself of what she was really after.
Them. Through him.
”Ahhh, I was hoping to go soon.” she said, letting some of her frustration through as dissappointment, ”My mother wants to take a trip, you see... all the way to Zena” which was not something that Ikkio wanted to do, but Ikuri did, and without Ikuri present it would be a very frustratingly lonely world...
She shrugged, ”But you have a point, Aysun...” she decided to admit, throwing up her hands in resignation, saying his name with a very suggestive flutter of her eyebrows, just for effect. ”Perhaps later, then...” she said, touching his shoulder lightly, ”If either of us can wait.”

Aysun's eyes went wide, mouth dropping open a little, "All the way to Zena?" She was going to Zena? That meant she would see a whole lot of Tale, Sauti, and then the icy country to Zena? Oh man, she was so lucky! He'd love to go on a trip like that, to see all the animals, bring them all home with him, but he knew that his mother would know in an instant if he tried to sneak away on such a trip. He'd have to stick to Jauhar and Tale near where he lived for now even if he was starting to feel he had all the information that he could gather on the animals of this area. Save of course for this mysterious beast that Ikkio alone knew about. Giving a rapid nod of his head he said, "Yeah, we will definitely go later, after your trip!" He said, sounding quite eager for a chance to go on the expedition to find the beast she was talking about. It was going to be too much fun! He wondered if there was a chance that they could drag Chandra along too... though he might just fuss the whole time, or worse tell their mother what Aysun was planning. He'd have to debate if bringing him along with them would be prudent. "It will be hard to wait for such an amazing trip but it wouldn't be any fun to go without you. I will do my best to wait for you, I promise." He said, turning to his animal army and said, "Alright guys! Time to get everyone home so that I can start to figure out what supplies would be best for the expedition after the mystery beast." Turning back to Ikkio he asked, "How long do you think you will be gone? Just curious so I know how long I have to plan and prepare." He wanted to be ready to go the moment she returned from Zena.

How long... That wasn't something Ikkio wanted to think about. She hadn't dared to think about it. ”I don't know.” she said, honestly, with a shrug, ”But I'll come back.” One way or another, she would come back, this Ikkio knew.
”But, if you're willing to wait..” she said, smiling, ”Then I'll pay you a visit.” she blinked, ”Where do you live, Aysun?” she asked, realizing she didn't know. That wouldn't do! Such an oppurtunity should not be wasted!

Aysun wasn't sure that he liked the idea that she didn't know when she was coming back, it meant that she might be a while. Their expedition might be a while in coming... but that meant that he had time to talk Chandra into coming along and not tattling to their mother about Aysun going off to do something stupid! It would be time well spent or so he hoped. He wanted to do more with Chandra then just tease him and hide his books after all. "Huh? Yeah, of course I will wait for you! You're the only one who knows where we are going so I sort of have to." He laughed a bit at that before tilting his head, "Huh? Oh! Yeah, that would be pretty useful to know, huh?" He set to giving her directions to his place with Yera as the first step. His mother wanted her own place after they'd arrived, so that she wouldn't have to stay with Uncle Jacin and Uncle Takoda, not to mention she wanted to be a bit closer to Jauhar so that Aysun and Chandra's father could visit. Giving a smile he finished with, "We aren't in any village but it's a nice place, not too hard to find if you follow those directions. Don't forget, once you get home from Zena you have to come visit! Not only so we can go on our expedition but so you can tell me all about Sauti and Zena and the beasts that live there!" Giving her a bright smile he said, "I look forward to when you return!" Turning to his pets he called out, "Alright, troops! Let's move out!"
