"Dancing! You're so lucky, it's so nice to go out on the town." For a brief moment, Hvergelmir was transported by the image of being a young girl taken out dancing by this tall, pretty senshi. It seemed pretty romantic to her. "A show's a great way to mix things up. There's an okay production of Footloose on right now, if you want a dancing show. Skip Mamma Mia!, the cast is, um, not the best. But for fantasy shows she might like, Wicked's ending next week, and starting Friday they're opening up Into the Woods just down the road. Wicked's a little more light-hearted, Into the Woods is Sondheim, so it's kind of snarky and biting. They're both great in different ways, depending on what you like. The theater scene here's not bad -- like I said, Mamma Mia!'s the real dud right now, but most companies will put on a good show."

Well, snarky and biting didn't sound too bad to her, but Chariklo wasn't entirely sure about Ava. Still.. Wicked was light-hearted? Really?
"Ahh, okay. Time out. Clarification time. I'm not like, the most avid reader out there, but I did read Wicked when it came out. How is rape and murder in the land of Oz light-hearted?"
There was nothing in her voice or body language to suggest she was anything but sincere in her desire to understand. If they'd taken all the awful, ugly bits out for the stage version, she might be able to watch it. All she knew is that she didn't want to go through another six months to a year of having Judy Garland warbling Somewhere Over the Rainbow ruined for her.
"Into the Woods... that's that fairy tale one that Disney's making a movie out of currently, yes?"

"Ah," Hvergelmir said, frowning, a little abashed, "that's the one, yeah, that's Wicked. You might not like it, in that case -- a lot of the foundation of the book's still there, including some of the grosser stuff -- but they've toned it down a lot. It's -- how should I put the difference between Wicked and Into the Woods?" She pressed a thoughtful finger to her chin. " Wicked's -- heavy subject matter given a weirdly light treatment. Into the Woods is light subject matter given a weirdly heavy one." She pondered it a little more, scratching her head. " Once Upon a Mattress will be in town in a few weeks, they're doing advanced sales now. It's completely lighthearted as musicals go."

"Ah sorry," Chariklo said quickly, not wanting to make this conversation weird. "The book was kind of a shock when I read it. So Into the Woods doesn't sound bad. What's Once Upon a Mattress about?"
She was going to owe Hvergelmir a friggin' fruit basket for putting her on the spot like this. But this was genuinely helpful stuff.
"Seriously, thanks for taking the time to help me figure this out. Outside of rok concerts and s**t, I am pretty out of my league. I was never very good about keeping up with culture."
The tall senshi chuckled a little, clearly laughing at her own shortcomings.

Hvergelmir shrugged off her apology with a smile. "Well, I mean, musical culture's not, like, culture culture, it's just more expensive than the movies, if you ask most people. I'm just a fan -- I like all the song and dance." She always had. And the simple, kind of juvenile storytelling musicals frequently employed, the costumes and the bright lights -- it was comforting when life could be so dull and complicated. " Once Upon a Mattress is a musical based on The Princess and the Pea -- it's really cute, the princess in it is from this backwater kingdom, so she's really gruff and unrefined compared to what they're expecting, and she's so vibrant, she kind of sweeps the prince off his feet all the more for it. Romantic, not too sobering. It's fluffy and fun."

Now that sounded perfect! Grinning, Chariklo tilted her head and was obviously thinking hard. Money to buy tickets wouldn't be a problem, just the timing.
"Well, gotta say you've been super helpful for a knight," she said, insolent grin stretching her lips. "We're supposed to kick the asses of any knights we meet, you know. But in your case it seems kind of unfair since you've been so great about answering my dumbass questions. Well, and that oath of yours."
Shaking her head, she treated Hvergelmir to a sober look.
"I really hope you know what you're doing there and that it doesn't ever backfire on you."
In spite of Hvergelmir being a knight, Chariklo honestly didn't wish any harm on her. Unlike most knights she'd met, this one seemed like an okay person. Besides, she'd been helpful. It would have been the height of dickishness to attack her now.

Hvergelmir smiled, glad to have hit upon a more helpful suggestion. "Well I'm a theater lover first, and a knight second," she said, punctuated with a silly wink. "And a hopeless romantic -- if I get to help you plan a special date with your special someone, I'm thrilled." She accepted Chariklo's mercy, her wishes and her warning with what she hoped was slightly more somber dignity. Of course I don't know what I'm doing. None of us do, do we?But maybe she was wrong. Maybe everyone else knew exactly what to do, and Hvergelmir was the only one that felt lost and confused all the time. Maybe. "Don't worry. I'm sturdier than I look," she promised. Hvergelmir extended a hand for the Dark Mirror senshi to shake. "It was nice to meet you, Sailor Chariklo. Good luck on your date!" Twilight Jaws wrap on your next post maybe~?

Giving Hvergelmir a slightly skeptical look-over, Chariklo had to take the knight at her word.
"If you say so. As delicate as you look, you'd have to be," she said bluntly. Still, a moment later she was smiling easily and taking the offered hand, giving the knight a gentle tug in order to pull her in for a half hug.
"Why thank you, knight Hvergelmir," she answered, wrinkling her nose impishly before grinning. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance and I honestly can't thank you enough for your help. Stay sparkly and safe, my friend."
With a wave, she released the girl's hand and ducked back into the alley's shadow. She didn't want any of the milling theater going civilians to be alarmed by her walking amongst them. She could shinny up the fire escape ladders that hung against the building and then take to the rooftops to get home. And she had quite a bit of food for thought now as well. Maybe not all the knights needed to be done away with. She'd have to consider it.Shazari We can fo'sho' wrap this. I'm sorry I was such a slug ;; <3
