The mares unease at his question was almost palpable and Uroko shifted his weight uneasily - he hadn't meant to make her feel uneasy, quite the opposite actually, he had wanted to assure her that she wouldn't be all alone once she was recovered regardless of her memories. It was hard to fathom what it might feel like not to know who you were however and so Uroko decided that her unease probably wasn't something he should take personally.

"Well, we don't have to do anything until your ready, you need to regain your strength before we even consider what to do next after all." He assured her hoping that a reminder that nothing was going to be decided right away and she need not worry about it for now, she already had enough to stress about certainly she didn't need anything else adding to it.

"Would you like for me to find you something more to eat? I might be able to find some fruit nearby." He offered.

Ichiou hadn't even realized that she had been led off the beach and into a nearby meadow of grass. Being distracted by her lack of memories and the struggle to gain her footing in this new land was bad. She needed to concentrate on the present and worry about her missing memories later. It was a nice thought but even now she could feel it tumbling about in the back of her mind, not knowing who she was and where she came from was a tough thing to deal with. Ichiou looked out over the swath of grass before them. It was like a sea...a big green sea. She snorted at the though, the last thing she wanted to think about was water or any reference to water.

Lowering her head the mare clipped at some grass, she did need to eat, since she wasn't sure when the last time was that she ate something. Not to mention her body was feeling weak from her time in the ocean. After a few mouthfuls of grass she looked up once again at Uroko as he spoke once more. Fruit. Fruit might be nice. But...she didn't want him to leave either. He was the only solid thing in her world right now and she had no idea how far away he would need to go in order to get her fruit. Her ears flattened on her skull for a moment as she fought the panic that was rising in her. Finally she gave her head a shake. "No, the grass is fine." Perhaps later she could get some fruit, once she had fully accepted her fate her, but for right now she needed him to stay with her to give her something solid to turn to. Lowering her head she returned to grazing and fought to keep her mind from wandering away with it's thoughts.

Uroko wasn't sure at first if the mare had heard him, as quite a while went by before she responded, a part of him was surprised - who would turn down fruit over grass? But rather then question her about it he decided to just accept her decision. The somewhat nervous way she was acting helped to cement his decision - something about his question had upset her but he couldn't put his hoof on what exactly that had been.

Well no matter really, perhaps she was still nervous about him - they had just met after all and she not only knew nothing about him but nothing about herself as well which was something of a double whammy to deal with. "Alright, the grass here is pretty good at least, we are far enough away from the shore that the dunes protect it from most of the salt." Salt grass could be nice once in a while but it had a tendency to make you thirsty and wasn't quite as comforting as good old sweet grass.

Falling into silence he watched her as she grazed, her coat was starting to dry out and he could see the patchy flakes of salt stuck to it, it would start to itch before too long - or at least his own hide did if he didn't wash the salt out after swimming in the ocean but Uroko doubted the mare would be in too much of a hurry to get back into the water itchy hide or not - perhaps he could suggest a nice calm spring if it started to bother her. "When your ready I can show you a nice quiet place to sleep and perhaps a calm stream to drink at." He suggested.

She continued to graze, only shifting nervously from time to time and casting the occasional glance his way to make sure he wasn't leaving. Had she been this paranoid before this incident? She wasn't sure, but one thing was for certain, she didn't like this feeling. She made a sound to acknowledge that she had heard him talk about the grass, but she was too busy eating to actually answer. Honestly she didn't care at this moment, her hunger had fully taken her and she stuffed herself full of grass. It was a little while before she had eaten enough to quiet her belly.

Lifting her head she looked towards Uroko. "That sounds good." She could definitely use a good drink and some rest now. Giving her body a shake, Ichiou stretched out her sore muscles, though they were hurting her less now than when she first awakened on the beach.

Uroko wasn't exactly sure what to do with himself as she ate, he wasn't hungry, having eaten before setting of and stumbling across her but just standing there while someone else ate was somewhat awkward and she didn't seem to enthused with the idea of conversation. In order to ease the awkwardness Uroko finally settled on taking a few bites here and there while she gorged herself. He didn't blame her - who knew how long she had been laying on the beach unconscious and how much energy she had spent fighting in the ocean before that, she probably needed every bite of food that she was putting away just to replenish herself and a good meal would help her heal, at least that what his mother had always told him when he was feeling under the weather. At least she seemed to be walking better then she had been.

"Are you alright to walk a bit? There is a stream close but it can be kind of rough there is a much calmer one a little ways off that I think you would like better."

While still a bit sore and tired Ichiou was feeling much better now that she had eaten and was away from the beach where she had woken up. "I'm find to walk." She told him, and for once her voice sounded confident, which reflected how she was feeling. She was still confused and struggling to remember who she truly was, but at least she was feeling better physically. She considered her optioned, on which stream to go to. Considered what she had been through last night the rough flowing stream was ruled out almost instantly, she worried it would trigger some memory of what had happened to her. Actually that might not be a bad idea. No, it could also throw back her progress if it instilled too much fear.

"I think the calmer stream would be best." She finally told Uroko. Perhaps later when she was feeling more stable she would be up to the rougher one or even going into the ocean once more, but right now she needed something to help her, not hinder her progress of recovery.

Uroko waited patiently for the mar to make u her own mind, however when she finally spoke he wasn't at all surprised by her decision. He doubted that he would want to deal with potentially swift or rough waters after going through what she had either he poor dear. "Alright, it's not that much father honestly and it might be best not to let your muscles stiffen up to much anyways." He agreed, attempting to make it sound like the decision had been a wise one and that he didn't think it was based on any sort of fear - he didn't want her to think he was coddling her or anything, he had known mares in the past who despised such treatment from stallions, or anyone else for that matter.

At least the pathway there took them farther from the beach and the sand gave way to firmer ground which he was sure the mare would find easier to walk on. "It's just this way a little bit." He told her before leading the way, he kept the pace slow and comfortable well aware that although she seemed to be doing better she was still recovering and it was best not to push things to much. "It's actually a somewhat nice path this time of year, wildflowers and songbirds and other such natural beauty." He had no idea if she liked such thing but it felt good to fill the silence with idle conversation.

She smiled slightly. She would walk quite a bit farther if needed to reach calm waters, but she didn't want to quite vocalize her fear of rough waters to him. Surely he would understand, given the vague details she had shared with him of what had happened. It would take time for her to work up the courage to face rough waters or even the ocean. Ichiou really appreciated Uroko going out of his way to help her today. When all was said and done she would need to thank him. Yes, she had already thanked him but after all of this it seemed like words weren't enough.

She began to follow him again, looking forward to this small dip in the stream. She was beginning to feel a bit itchy, what with the salt drying on her hide so the chance to clean that off was very appealing. Ichiou was busy glancing around, the scenery was changing quickly from near beach to almost forest, mixed with meadow. "It really is quite beautiful." She told him. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like it." And if she had, well she couldn't remember. But for once that thought didn't bother her because it was like getting to experience it all for the first time and that made it special. "Is it all like this out here?"

Uroko was pleased to see that Ichiou seemed to be enjoying the walk, or at the very least she didn't seem to be as tense as she had been since he had found her, part of that tenseness had been her injuries true but some of it had been the lingering fear and worry about her memories, even if this walk gave her a bit of a reprieve from that inner stress he thought it was worth it.

"Some of it." He told her "The farther you get from the beach the more woodsy it gets and if you go far enough you get into the hills and mountains which are a world all their own." He told her with a warm look. While he loved the beach and the ocean he was also quite fond of the mountains and the differences between the two. A small part of him wanted to tell her he would take her there someday - but that would be rather presumptuous, to assume that she would be around that long or even that she might like to do such a thing. For all he knew she would get he memories back and leave in a day or so - maybe sooner. In any case it was likely best that he did not start to think of her as a permanent fixture and so he kept silent.

Ichiou closed her eyes and tried to imagine seeing the forest and the mountain beyond. She had no idea if she had ever seen mountains before, but she was fairly certain that she had seen, and possibly been through, a forest in her lifetime. If she wasn't still a bit tired from her experience in the sea and in desperate need of a good cleaning and then a long rest she might have asked to go see the mountains right now. But she also remembered that Uroko was part of a herd, so he likely wouldn't be able to just up and leave without telling them to show the mountains to someone who had no memories. Opening her eyes, she suppressed a sigh, perhaps she better focus on the here and now and not worry about the future just yet. If she made it through the rest of today without issue then she would think about tomorrow and the day after that.

"It all sounds wonderful." She finally said, about the mountains and forest. She would see it one day, she promised herself. Right now her focus was on getting clean, then perhaps she would meet some of Uroko's herd mates before getting some much needed, hopefully stress free, sleep.

"It is definitely interesting." Uroko agreed as they walked along, they were quickly coming up to the calm and placid bit of water he had promised her, if he was lucky there would even be some charming waterfowl or fish lazing about to make the place even more inviting to the traumatized mare. Rounding a corner in the path the water spread out before them , it was calm and shallow, certainly not a place where Soquili as large as themselves would have to worry about being swept away - but still he gave the mare beside him a sideways glance to make sure that she wasn't bothered.

"Its fairly shallow - so it should be quite warm." He told her cheerfully, wading into the water himself though he had no need to do so. "I've often seen water birds and fish around, if your lucky perhaps we will see some of the prettier ones." He added, lifting his head to glance around and see if he would catch sight of anything interest.

She had been worried that seeing the water would trigger the fear once again, but seeing the calm shallow water, Ichiou felt no fear. In fact it looked like the perfect place to just relax...which is exactly what she needed. "Looks lovely." She said with a smile. The mention of birds brought her attention away from the pond for a moment. Looking up at the trees and the area around the pond Ichiou didn't see anything at the moment. "Perhaps they will come along in a while."

In the meantime, there was this pond tempting her. With a glance at Uroko she stepped into the pond. The water was quite refreshing, a little warm but certainly not overly warm. "Ahhh." She couldn't help but let out the sigh of content as she slowly lowered herself into the water. She could already feel the hardened salt from her hide lifting away.

Uroko was disappointing not to see any of the birds lingering around, some of them were really quite beautiful and he would have liked to show Ichiou, the only good thing he could see in loosing your memories would be in rediscovering the beautiful things in the world, it would be like a foal seeing its first sunset, awe inspiring and wonderful. Sadly the birds were not cooperating and he gave a slight snort of disappointment. "I hope so." He told his companion sincerely.

It was nice to see that she was comfortable in the water and he was sure that it felt wonderful to wash the salt off her hide. Salt was an unpleasant aspect of the the ocean to be sure. Uroko wasn't sure what he should suggest they do next but to be honest he kind of thought it would be nice to just hang out here by the water for a while, there was food and water and while it wasn't particularly sheltered as long as the weather stayed nice they wouldn't really need much. Rather then suggest this however he just remained quiet and enjoyed the moment.

It felt so good to be clean once more. There was nothing worse than have dried salt on ones hide...well losing ones memories was worse, but as far as things that could be easily fixed goes, dried salt was probably the worst thing. But Ichiou didn't linger long in the water, much as she wanted to stay there for a long time, once the salt was off she felt the need to get out. Probably thanks to the lingering fear from her experience. Even so, she felt more relaxed and alive now than she had since waking up on the strange beach. "That was wonderful." She told Uroko with a smile. Though she still felt a bit uncertain with who she was and where she was, at least physically she was feeling more solid.

Now all she had to do was wait for the mental strength to return. Coming out of the pond Ichiou gave herself a bit of a shake to free herself from the clinging water. No longer did she feel weights down by the grit and the uneasiness of her situation. Hearing a flapping sound Ichiou nearly bolted. It had been so quiet that the sudden, albeit, soft sound startled her. She took several quick steps back while she looked around for the cause of the sound. Of course she felt very embarrassed when a bird landed on a nearby branch. A nervous laugh rolled out from her. "It's just a bird." But it was a beautiful bird as well.

It was nice to see the mare somewhat more relaxed and with the salt and sand from the beach washed away the stallion could see that she was indeed the pretty mare he had thought she was. He doubted that this would be a good time to tell her that however - she was already feeling somewhat vulnerable thanks to her lack of memories, no need to make it worse by making her self conscious.

He was on the verge of asking her what she would like to do now when all of a sudden she tensed up, shying and on the verge of bolting away, unsure of what had startled her Uroko was none the less quick to react, charging forward to place himself between the mare and the direction her scare had come from, keen eyes searching for the source of her fear. When her next words finally processed and Uroko realized that it had just been a bird he flushed a bit in embarrassment himself "Ah yes..well that would be the pretty waterfowl I was telling you about. I didn't know they were so good at hiding however." He stated, giving the bird a mock annoyed look.
