He frowned, as if Sherry was doubting him.
"I've only gotten sick like... once in my life, and I think that was the time a bug was going around and half the island ended up sick."
He couldn't remember when exactly that was, but he was pretty sure it was a thing.
A small huff escaped his lips as she was done rubbing down his hair only to end up... fluffing it more. Perhaps the bleach had ended up making his hair more sensitive, as he found himself quite enjoying having Sherry run her fingers through his hair, though trying to style it was probably a lost cause in itself. He really... should get a haircut at some point.
"It was cold, but not...extremely cold. Kinda like the colder side of warm?"
He took her hand, lowering it so that he could kiss the back of it.
"But you should be fine. I doubt you'll catch hypothermia from it."

Sherry let out the tiniest of laughs at his comment. Only sick once? Lucky. And she remembered that... "It was," she said. But that was all she said on the subject, forcing herself to focus on his hair. Mention of the sickness brought back memories, and some happy some sad, but all hers. Only hers. She fought the urge to touch her necklace and focused on poking at his hair.
At least until he stopped her, taking her hand.
"I'm not worried about me," she said with a smile. "I'm worried about you in this Fear tainted forest." Her free hand brushed his cheek, her eyes not leaving his face. They'd come so far and been through so much, and here they were, and she was happy. If that wasn't the time for a soft, sweet, and tender kiss, Sherry didn't know what was. So she leaned in to kiss him.

Having Sherry cut herself off, Jake only arched an eyebrow, wondering if it was something he said, but then she was smiling again, and he laughed at her response.
"I'll be fine, really."
The kiss was a surprise, but a pleasant one, and he leaned down to kiss her back.
"Well, enough chit-chat. If we take any longer, we'll run out of time and have to go back. Shall we get going?"

Sherry was nothing but smiles. Happy smiles. Happy feelings. This date was going very well so far.
"Great idea!" It would ruin everything if the Fear of the forest got to them. "Let's go."
