"You better grab someone and start going, Ganymede." Ida said as she glanced about, taking stock of the growing number of senshi and knights in one spot. It was wonderful to see so many people showing up, but problematic when so few had pearls and no way to get more. Plus the danger that grew with each new signature that this gathering was going to draw notice from people they'd rather it not.

"We really need to get people moving before any unwelcome guests show up. Everyone who's staying, please keep an eye out... We don't have a cat to cover us yet." Ida spoke to the group at large as she looked between the faces that had joined them, noting who was new and who she had already met. "This is indeed the meeting place for the moon trip. I'm Sailor Ida, this is Sailor Kallichore, and Sailor Ganymede. Kallichore and Ganymede have pearls and they've agreed to take you up to the moon. It's really nice to see some new faces, I'm really glad you've all decided to come."

The eternal made sure to give her attention to each of the newbies in turn, a welcoming smile on her face. There was nothing to be done but to keep moving and wait... hopefully Horatio would make it. In the mean time, though, introductions done, Ida pulled out her phone to message Thraen.

SMS:

Kallichore and I are at Ferry 3. Ganymede has joined us with a pearl, but Horatio hasn't arrived. 7 people are here, we're working to move them. Do you have anyone to spare?

Maybe one of the other ferry points had a cat to spare, or more people with pearls...

So far, no luck on the Aquarius front. Normally, Hvergelmir would've spared a little more enthusiasm for the hustle and bustle of the people around her, all assembled in the interest of banding together to form a stronger, more united Order front -- but today, all she could think was that her best friend was still missing and sometimes, well-intentioned team endeavors turned out horribly, bloodily wrong. Well, at least Sailor Ganymede had tried to be helpful, even if she hadn't had any information to spare. The sympathy in her tone didn't fall on deaf ears.

The concentration of auric energy in one place was getting a little worrisome, however. Hvergelmir looked up as yet another aura was added to the mass pile -- but this time, she saw someone she knew approaching, and they were calling her name.

"Mimisbrunnr!" Hvergemir detached herself from the group briefly to cross to the Mercury page, immediately linking her arm around the other woman's like they were best friends in an Austen novel just out taking the air. Arm in arm, she led her back to the group, leaning in to say more quietly: "I wasn't sure if anyone else from Mistral would be here. I'm glad I'm not alone. How are you holding up?"

Then, intent on catching her companion up with what she'd missed, she summarized: "It seems like the guardian cat for this checkpoint's not here yet, so we're low on the charms they use to transport people to the moon. They're working on getting a cat to come here from one of the other checkpoints." Then she went visually around the circle, quietly pointing to and identifying the knights and senshi who'd offered their names thus far.

"Everyone, this is Mimisbrunnr of Mercury," she introduced the page around to the group.

The Himalayan remembered a story that her two child owners had told her about how, once upon a time, a little girl had followed a white rabbit down its hole into a freakish fantasy world. The rabbit had a watch and always complained about being late. Horatio had never really understood. If you carried a watch, how could you be late? Why weren't you there early? It never said he had a game or another engagement or anything before hand, and if he kept looking at the watch, how had the lateness happened?

Now she knew.

Horatio felt very much like that white rabbit at this particular moment as she headed towards Meadowview. She had no problems being up and about at any weird kind of hour, but she had just... completely lost track of time! Even though there was a digital clock in every room of the house, and on the stove, and a big grandfather clock in the living room. When the bong came twice from there, she had dropped the yarn out of her mouth and taken out through the kitty door with a frantic mewl! All those wonderful winners were waiting for her.

She didn't always take her duties as a Guardian Cat as seriously as she should, even if she would never admit it. Her life, as far as she was concerned, was one great big, fun game. Sure, there were levels that sucked, and yes, even casualities that she... frankly did not like to think about because it made her heart ache and her stomach suddenly feel like she had swallowed a load of hot lead, but ultimately a game all the same. She had to be there so that her team could win. Winning, keeping her winners in the game? That was all that mattered. That's why she ran with all of her speed, all of her strength, until that glorious basketball court came into sight. No sign of any basketballs, though. No pre-Moon game hoops? That was a little disappointing, but she wouldn't hold it against anybody.

"I'm... here..." she wheezed out to the group, her sides rising and falling as she panted. Her lungs burned with that wonderful, post-race exertion, and her desire for conversation was thereby stemmied. At least, momentarily. As soon as she caught her breath, she intended to talk the ears off of any Senshi or Knight that allowed her to do so. The thought of future friends and talk and play and cuddles made a grin erupt on her muzzle.

Her goggles were already over her eyes as she scanned the crowd, giving each person she saw a cheery wave of her tail. The checkered flag fluttered behind it in a form of salute as she all but chirped, "Hi old friends and new friends! I expect at least one hug from everyone before the trip's over, so prepare yourselves for some fur on your pretty outfits."

My sincerest apologies to everyone for not posting sooner. ANYONE is more than welcome to approach Horatio for any reason.

There was mostly idle chitchat going on. Bifrost attempted to keep names to faces but mostly it was just coming out "She Who Uses Eggs" "She of the White Stars" "Popcorn Kitty." Not exactly helpful to Bifrost, but it was a way to keep them straight. Sort of. The glowy one was Ganymede, that stuck, but the rest of them sort of... blurred together. So she focused on what they were actually doing instead of who was who.

She'd get it eventually.

The Squire fidgeted, rocking her butt from side to side slightly and rolling her shoulders. She was anxious; anxiety tended to spawn more pronounced butt wiggling and shoulder ruffling. An unfortunate downside of being otherkin, her invisible bits manifested themselves when she was under stress.

The last time she'd been to space, people died and did not return. She was not ready to deal with that again, nor did she want to even consider what would happen if something went wrong. While her own Wonder did not worry her, general space did. Where they were going tonight did not seem to be a space for death or destruction, but she had heard little about the Moon, just as she had heard little about Mistral. She couldn't... go through that again, not so soon.

She stood quietly, inching towards the kitty and bending down to pet the guardian cat. She was soft and cheerful, and that was more than Bifrost could say about herself right now.

"Bifrost, Squire of Chronos. It's a pleasure to meet you, Little Kitty."

Her panting had subsided now into just shallow breathing, but the flag waving with her tail continued. Nothing like a visual pep talk, right? Except an actual pep talk, but at the moment she was running her eyes over the group and separating winners she knew and loved and winners she had yet to meet. There was Ganymede, looking all glowy and pretty as ever, and wonderul bestest Kallichore, and Vallhalla and Ida and... someone new on their way over!

Oh, she took note of the Squire's fidgeting. All the more so whenever the inching became definitively in her direction. She just chose to interpret it positively. Clearly her fluffy, trustworthy face had been worth getting up for! The graciously offered pets were received with an arching of her back to try and get closer to the gentle hand, "Hi Bifrost, I'm Horatio and whoooa you've got some real nifty metal on your hands there! You all excited to go to the moon, too, Bifrost? I'm super excited and hope we bounce, like they always show on the tv, but probably we don't. Still, here's hoping!"

Ganymede had the grace to appear modest and bashful at Megrez's introduction and reminder of the rooftop battle during the blackout, but beneath the awkward giggling and sheepish expression was a bit of smug pride.

She could't help it. It wasn't often that she was so successful in battle, particularly battles of that scale. The remainder of that evening had not progressed quite as well as the initial hostage crisis, but she chose to focus instead on the more positive aspects. It was easier that dwelling on the less pleasing events, after all. Her modesty soon melted away to be replaced by the brash grin it'd been concealing, as a wave of confidence momentarily carried her away on a mild ego-trip.

“Oh, yeah, you know, good ol' Buddy and I have some history.”

She said it like they encountered one another often, when the truth was she tended to avoid being in the vicinity of a Negaverse officer when she had the ability to do so. But that was a pointless detail to reveal to a lower level Senshi with the look of one who was obviously impressed by the gathering.

As their numbers continued to swell, Ganymede looked to Ida and Kallichore for direction, nodding in agreement and thrusting the hand clutching her cellphone into the air. Horatio's arrival made the need to depart quickly somewhat less imperative, but if others were going to continue making their way to the basketball court, they should probably focus on lessening the numbers already there.

Waving her hand and phone around in the air, Ganymede raised her voice over the chattering of the crowd, “Yes, hello, hi, good morning, nice to meet you all! I'll be one of your lovely space flight attendants! Step right up and we'll start making our way to the moon! Val, you're with me for the first round, you big baby, but do I have another volunteer to join us? Don't be shy, the moon's not really so bad! It's not as big as mine, but we won't hold that against it, okay? Looks a bit busted up too but, hey, what can you expect after hundreds of years, right? Maybe you'll get lucky and see the ghost of the dead Moon Queen. Oooooh, aaaaaaah!” she finished, putting on a creepy face and lowering her voice into a ghostly tone.

Obnoxious? Probably. She thought she was hilarious.

There was so much going on, so much hustle and bustle and names and faces she didn't know, Amphitrite was having a really hard time keeping it all straight. She waved whenever anyone introduced themselves, but really, she didn't feel like she had a whole lot to contribute besides her company. It was sort of like being invited to a party by the one person you knew, and they hadn't popped up yet. She wasn't even completely sure if the senshi whose names Ash had mentioned to her were even here or not, to be totally honest.

Some caught her eye more than others. People with flowing dresses and awesome tattoos, others with words on their clothes, and it would honestly make her life it she could talk to even half of these people. Then, there was a cat -- one of the proper little talking alien cats like Ash! Even if she didn't bound right over to lavish her with pats or anything like that, she did wave eagerly as she found herself wishing she'd bought a water bottle or something to offer some out. "I don't mind fur at all!" she made sure to call back; like she'd ever turn down a chance to hug a precious little talking cat. Who would?

Then, one of the senshi began to speak. She was particularly glowy, like exceedingly glowy, and she was completely gorgeous besides. "Oh wow, " she breathed mostly to herself; seriously, how were all these people so damn gorgeous? Then she was talking about ghosts and even if Amphitrite knew she had to totally be kidding, wouldn't it be sort of cool if that was actually a thing? After all, all she had ever known about the moon was the guy taking bouncing steps across dust and rocks, and now -- plus the chance to buddy up with the gorgeous glowy senshi was a little too much to pass up. "Oh, me, me!" she added a little bounce for good measure. As she wobbled a little on her awkward heels, she realized maybe she'd been a little too eager and added a hasty, "I mean, I'll volunteer, you know, if that's cool. I ain't afraid of no ghosts." Ghostbusters reference at her first big senshi meeting. Wow. Way to look cool, Nat.

Ida caught Kepler's attention first. The senshi was introducing the others and Kepler just let her hands flutter a little as if she didn't know what to say for the moment. at Ida's smile, Kepler was able to smile back without having to force it. There was just something calming about her. What was it though?

There was constant movement and talking and it seemed someone not a Senshi had joined them, but she had a feeling this was a Page.

With a deep breath to calm herself, Kepler stayed quiet to take in everyone's names and what they were a senshi of. There were so many! She was delighted to find out she wasn't completely alone. Then Ganymede started talking and her eyes were on that Senshi completely. She was so stunning. God, everyone here was pretty.

"Oh, me? I want to go!" She slowly stepped closer to Ganymede and bit down on her bottom lip. This was more ruckus than watching her siblings!

Ganymede motioned her first volunteer forward.

“Alright then, you and Val first,” she said, and felt ashamed that she'd forgotten that Senshi's name already—but then that wasn't out of the ordinary—though the seashell motif of her fuku was quite distinctive.

“I'll come back and grab you next,” she told the second volunteer (Kepler). “It won't take long. Just sit tight!”

Ganymede nudged Valhalla's side and handed him her thermos of tea and bag of muffins. She then proceeded to grab his arm and pulled him closer, then eyed Amphitrite and jerked her head in a motion meant to beckon her into their personal space.

“You'll have to hold onto me,” she said. “Just grab my shoulder or something. Now, get ready for a crash course in lunar travel. Don't worry, it's easy. Kinda like going to your homeworld. Once you've got one of these handy-dandy moon pearls you just have to wait until the night of the full moon. Then you look up, concentrate, aaaaaaaaaaand voila!”

It didn't happen quite as quickly as she made it seem it would. Concentration was key, after all. Once she was done with her instructions, Ganymede set about following them, raising her gaze onto the silver face of the moon. A few moments passed quietly, and just when it seemed as if nothing would happen, Ganymede's thumb descended onto the center button of her phone.

She, Valhalla, and Amphitrite vanished from the Earth.

He knew he was young. He knew he could sometimes be a handful and more often than not, people wanted to make sure he was looked after. But that didn’t mean he was completely helpless, and he didn’t really appreciate being left out of things that the “adults”, who were really just children themselves, got to do.

“I can help, too,” Oberon announced, watching for a few minutes before making his approach towards the basketball court. With so many arriving, and the help of a guardian cat, it wasn’t surprising that his own aura might have gone unnoticed.

But now that Ganymede had taken both Valhalla and the other senshi, he figured that now would be the best time to offer (before he could be scolded for being out of bed). While he was exhausted and had very little idea about what was going on, he still wanted to be involved. Oberon crossed his arms, looking up at……

Wow he didn’t know anyone. Except Kallichore of course.

“Uh… Oberon…” he introduced, puffing his chest out a little and standing up straighter and wishing he was just a little taller already. After a moment of not knowing what else to say, he pulled his phone from subspace to show everyone that, yeah, he did have a moon pearl. “See? I can help.”

Of course, as soon as she sent the text message, the kitten she'd been talking about arrived, looking flustered from her race across town.

"Horatio!" Ida said in relief pacing over to join the guardian and the squire, sinking down on her toes in a crouch. "Hey, do you have some extra pearls you could share with us? I don't have one and I bet the other first level senshi don't have any either. If we all had one, we could take ourselves rather than try to ferry people up there."

The younger voice that came from off to the side drew Ida's attention and she glanced up, the sight of a chibi bringing a smile to her face.

"Oberon? Welcome! I'm Ida. If you want to help out, you could start taking our knight friends up. Horatio can cover some of us, but we're going to be late if we don't start getting people up to the moon. Once I get a pearl myself, I can take two people up and Horatio can hang out with Kallichore for a bit." She said warmly, offering the cat her hand.

Bifrost smiled at the kitty, stroking her head. "I am... sort of excited I suppose. My last trip to space didn't end very well, so I'm sort of nervous about this." The words were truthful; she was nervous and rather anxious about leaving at all. Space didn't bring her good things. Space just brought pain.

The squire looked around at the rest of the group and the chibi who appeared before tuning into Ganymede. Ida popped over and Bifrost smiled softly at her before moving a bit away to give Horatio some space to do whatever her thing was.

Horatio was quite content to lie there on her new Squire friend and purr the early morning hours away. At the girl's quiet confession, the Mauvian only increased her thrumming and lightly kneaded her leg. "Well, you just keep on being excited and don't worry! The moon's a big ole safe spot. No scary monsters or Negalosers to worry about."

A very sea-themed Senshi called out for wanting a cuddle, but before Horatio could make her way over her good friend Ida appeared! With a very peculiar question. "Pearls?" She tilted her head in obvious confusion while the flower Senshi spoke with a Chibi before mewling, "Uh... no? Don't think so. Was I supposed to grab some? I'm sorry...but I'll stay as long as everyone needs me to, no problem!"

The rest of the plan seemed winner, to her. Kallichore was awesome, and more time spent with her was boss. "Sounds like a plan to me." The sprightly Mauvian wriggled away from Bifrost, leaving behind the promised amount of hair on the poor Squire's clothes, and booped the Eternal's offered hand in a feline version of a high five. "Let's do it, Ida!"

In 11th grade Vanessa had broken Jeremy Creedle's nose during PE for sneaking her bra out of the girls' locker rooms and poking fun at her cup size. She remembered being shocked by how much much blood he'd spilled onto the basketball court, and feeling sorry, despite her own humiliation, for the tears that she'd made him shed.

Not that any of that had prevented her from joining in when they'd started using it as a slingshot.

Unbidden, but not unwelcome, memories of her life as a student at Meadowview High chugged through Vanessa's mind on a nostalgia train. Some of them were painful. Most of them were bittersweet. So much had come to pass since the days she'd walked those tender halls. John Jr was a student there now. From what he'd told her, not much had changed. Odd, that something could stay so normal when chaos practically oozed out of Destiny City's every pore.

Sailor Vulcan approached the group gathered at the basketball courts with a thoughtful smile on her face, bright eyes drawn to the place where Colby Schmidt had pantsed skinny little Robert Morgan. The corners of her lips twitched sadly. Last Vanessa had heard, Robert was dead. Most likely murdered. And Colby was missing.

Tonight, she was going to the moon. High school felt impossibly far away.

Most of the faces, Sailor Scouts and Knights alike, were new and strange to Vulcan. But that mattered little. Vanessa was hardly shy, and it warmed her heart to see so many of her comrades come together in one place, in the spirit of progress. The last time she'd seen so many Order Warriors at one time they'd answered the call of a man who hid behind a mask.

High school basketball courts may not have been the safest choice for a launch point. They were all vulnerable and exposed, despite Horatio's heroic presence. But Vulcan preferred that. It was better to risk death on their own terms than to eat pastries prepared by the hands of the enemy.

"Hey, handsome," Vulcan said to Oberon, gravitating towards him automatically for being so damned cute. She dipped at the waist and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. She straightened and then, smiling big, offered him her hand to hold. "Wanna be my hero tonight?"

Knight friends? Oberon stared curiously up at the woman who called herself Ida, before glancing around towards the other women at the basketball court. He didn’t know many knights, but it wasn’t too difficult to pick them out. Either way, he had offered to help out and he would.

Of course, the others all looked kind of busy. No one looked too eager to get to the moon. In all honesty, he wasn’t even sure if he would be welcome there, being just a kid and all. He stood there, glancing from one to another, waiting for someone to say something or offer to go with him first.

Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait long. A senshi in red and gold and white approached him and even gave him a kiss. He nearly jumped back, startled, but the grin on his face was pretty impossible to hide. He was, after all, almost fourteen and totally over the whole ‘girls have cooties’ thing. “Hi,” he chirped in return, surprised that she was so willing to allow a kid to transport her to the moon, but he wasn’t going to argue. Oberon took hold of her hand, his courage revived with her boldness.

“Are we going to the moon or not??” he called to the others, holding up his senshi phone in his free hand, waving the glowing screen around to get the others attention. “If you wanna go, I can probably take one more with me at a time.”
