After Rose had finished trying on clothes for Miss Amaya and a small bunch for herself, she paid for her selections, storing away the store in her mind for any of her future clothing needs. Once she had paid, she stepped to the side for Armel to pay for the clothes he had settled on for his queen. "Well this place is definitely interesting. I might just end up coming here again." She said to the owner who had just checked out her items.
When she had had a chance during their long, but still enjoyable shopping adventure, she had used her smartphone and googled what 'donauwelle' was, and it sounded delicious. It also sounded very hard to make, making her think Armel was a chef, or at least a very talented cook. Sour cherries and chocolate? That was something that was definitely on her bucket list if it hadn't been before.
[That's a good idea, considering I, like Rose, do not know fashion very well. my second to last post is the extent of my knowledge. razz ]

Armel had all the clothing he chose for his queen—shirts, leggings, trousers, lingerie, dresses, footwear, everything—paid for, boxed, and bagged. He also had to buy himself clothing so he could remain presentable to his queen, though he mostly bought suits that would be tailored and delivered to the suite his queen shared with him, the rest of his clothing were button-down shirts and trousers with matching footwear. A bodyguard must always appear well-dressed for his queen.
Once everything was package, Armel turned his attention to Miss Cameron. She mentioned returning to the boutique another time. "It would be enjoyable if I could accompany you once again to this tiny boutique. Her Majesty may even come as well once she hears of our little adventure," he said with a small mischievous smile. "Though we won't purchase as much next time." Staring at his piled of bagged boxes, Armel believed it would be possible to fit them all in Miss Cameron's car. As for Miss Cameron seeing out of the review mirror, that was to be decided once they were outside. It is good I ordered my meats to be delivered to the inn. It would be impossible and insanitary to keep clothing and raw meats together, he thought to himself as he gathered his purchases before walking to the door and opening it for Miss Cameron.
[Ha, same here, but I've watched enough What Not To Wear to figure it out.]

Looking at the large amount of clothing now in Armel's possession, she began to wonder if she would be able to see out her rear view window. She would find some way to fit them, though, she was good at that. She smiled at the mention of Miss Amaya joining them next time, and laughed when he smiled mischievously and told her they wouldn't be buying as much next time. "Well, that will definitely be enjoyable, I think."
Seeing the contemplative look on his face, she smiled and said "'The only thing that is impossible is impossibility.' - we'll figure out a way to fit all this in here. That is, as long as we don't need to stop anywhere else to make any other purchases before going back to the inn?" She inquired, her inquiry more serious than her light joking earlier. Waiting for him to respond, she exited the store, nodding in thanks to him for holding the door, even though he had more things than her. Oh well, he was an old fashioned gentleman, so she didn't protest. When she got to her car, she opened her trunk and put her small collection of things to one side, to leave room for any of the clothes Armel was holding, if he decided to put them in her trunk.

Armel smiled as Miss Cameron spoke of impossibility. He had expected her to quote Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but his quotes were too much of a mouthful. "No, this is our last stop for the day," he said as he let the boutique door close behind him as he walked to the car, circling to its trunk where Miss Cameron stood. A number of his purchases would be stored in its other half, though he was certain the rest would overflow into the backseat of her vehicle. And he was right. After placing everything away, he barely managed to not obscure Miss Cameron's view of her back window.
Turning to the shapeshifter, Armel said to her, "I believe we won't be cited for dangerous driving with this arrangement." He was ready to return to his queen's side and finish cooking dinner.
[Let's exit to Amaya's and Armel's room with this post. It'll be faster.]

[Enter Aoi from Anything Is Fine.]
Upon approaching the boutique, Aoi stopped and motioned with his free hand to the fire elemental. "This is my first time here, but it looks pleasant," he said as he took a closer look at the window displays. He saw clothing from the Elizabethan Era and even the Song Dynasty. It actually frightening him to know this little shop in this little town had clothing from his own era. However, seeing the clothes only brought on bad memories for him, though the clothes on display were only formal wear. He wouldn't wear any of them for casual, everyday wear. If he was lucky, Kira wouldn't ask anything about non-European clothing.

{Enter Kira from Anything is Fine}
Kira walked beside Zaya as they arrived to the store he had spoken of, already feeling much stronger now that she had some food in her body. She no longer wobbled every time she took a step for one, and she was more than grateful to no longer look that weak. To anyone around her she simply appeared to be a vibrantly healthy girl that for some odd reason was wearing a robe, a girl literally glowing with health. It was only until they looked at her eyes and noticed that they were glowing embers, or discover tongues of flame flicking though her ash-grey hair, that people would have realized she wasn't technically some girl.
She looked at some of the clothes on display in front of her protected from the elements by glass, another thing she had to marvel at. In her time, Romans had lighted on glass, having learned it from Egyptians while they traded with them, but it was crude ugly material only suitable for holding a few things like liquids. It took forever to make by human-power what she could produce in seconds. But in this day, humans nearly made everything out of it.
Kira looked at each piece, vaguely uncomforted by the headless statuettes. She turned back to Zaya, "From some reason I think I should be gratefully I did not got through that time" She said, pointing with thumb at the Victorian era clothing, with its poofed out skirts on wire and whalebone corsets. "May we go inside? I would like to see what else there is."

"Trust me, you wouldn't want to wear one of those. It hurts to breathe." The water elemental pretended to suffocate before grabbing the front door. Aoi held open the door for Kira as soon as she asked about going in. "Sure, look around and pick out anything you like," he said as he closed the door behind them and tried not to jump out of his skin when he saw the woman sitting behind the counter. Was she the boutique owner or manager? Either way, she looked like a perfect doll. It was unnerving, but he didn't show it. Besides, she was the least startling person he had ever met. It just surprised him to see a living doll in the store.

Kira walked into the store, doubly grateful for not living in that time, even though she didn't necessarily need to breathe, the thought of restriction was not pleasant and reminded her of her time as... She locked up for a few seconds, her hair flaring up as panic raced through her body. After it subsided, she did her best to play it off to Zaya, ashamed at her panic. "That doll scared me, I thought I saw it blink." Then Kira really did freak out when the doll moved its head and smiled at her. IT'S ALIVE her mind shrieked, her hair flaring up even hotter. The panic set in for a few seconds and she nearly backed up into some clothes in her haste to evade the creature, but she finally managed to calm down. Of course she only calmed down once she realized that it was human. Oh, oops. She gave a sheepish smile over to Zaya, now extremely embarrassed.

Aoi took a small step back as Kira's hair flared up and worried first, about his locket being damaged by her flames and second, about Kira. He saw the way she stiffed up and was sure, despite how she tried to play it off. Something set her off...maybe his comment about breathing? The corsets did restrict breathing...Then he realized too late. The fire elemental remembered her two millennia captivity by the slave master. Inwardly, he worried how this would effect her mood in the near future and if she would have panic attacks. However, these thoughts soon vanished by the fire elemental's next move.
At first, the water elemental thought Kira was lying about the boutique owner being a doll. Sure, she looked like a doll, but she wasn't. Then he had to laugh as the elder elemental panicked as the boutique owner move, greeting them with a wide smile. Resting a hand on Kira's shoulder, Aoi reassured her with a smile of his own. "You'll find more surprises around every corner." He wagggled his eyebrows for effect, and to get Kira to laugh a bit at her own foolishness. "We won't be long, Miss Owner. C'mon, Kira, we have less than two hours before we talk to Pele, so let's get as much shopping done as possible." Aoi waved at the boutique owner before steering Kira in the direction of the casual clothes.
From the corner of his vision, a flash of black passed by the windows. When he got a better look, Aoi suppressed a shiver. Three black sedans drove down the road, and he knew from personal exposure they weren't ordinary sedans. The water elemental could only tell general direction in which the sedans took, but it didn't take a genius to figure out why they were in Kuro Shiro. They people inside were in Kuro Shiro for one reason, or rather, for one person. s**t.
I need to call Ollor. Aoi just needed to confirm what he already knew. He needed to reassure himself and prepare himself. I just don't want to have regrets. Like how he should have looked back when he went after Kira. Aoi heard the black dragon roar when he made his escape down the mountain, following the path Kira burned. He couldn't let himself regret not looking back. He'd keep hope that the sedans were in town for a different reason. But, if I'm right, I will drop Kira off at Luna and Sol's room before investigating myself. But he wouldn't get near. One thing Aoi learned through all his travels and all his years was not to interfere with another person's fight. This was especially true when it involved yakuza.
[She's very cute.]

Kira gratefully allowed Zaya to walk her away from the owner of the shop, fervently hoping that she wasn't considered a norm of this time, If she is, I'll never have a moment's peace Kira thought sadly. Still somewhat mortified at herself for reacting in such a way, she gave Zaya a thin-lipped smile as he tried to cheer her up, before she delved into the sea of clothes he had directed her to. She eventually picked up a pair of tan cut-off jeans, as they reminded her vaguely of shorts that roman fishermen used. She pressed them against herself to check the size and frowned when she noted that while it matched her size at the waist, it didn't really match her at the legs, in fact came up mid-thigh. She rifled through the same set of clothes until she found a pair that fit her legs, but now the material was too wide at the waist. She harrumphed at the difficulty turning to Zaya to remark on it "Why is it that these clothes are so--- Zaya are you alright?" She remarked upon seeing his face, he had looked troubled by something.

Aoi blinked twice at Kira, surprised by her question. Guess he got lost in thought. Quickly, he thought of a cover story for his state. "Sorry, I was just thinking if I told Pele not to tell anyone about are Skype meeting." To assure the elder elemental that everything was alright, he gave an embarrassed laugh. "Believe it or not, people have become extremely nosy in other's personal matters. I don't want you coming face-to-face with all those weirdos, not before you learn the ways of this time. Gotta arm yourself to the teeth when it comes to them." Well, it wasn't much of a lie. The people the water elemental knew were, to put it bluntly, freaks of nature, which was saying something considering the world they lived in. Aoi definitely did not want Kira meeting anyone who would use Kira.
"Anyways, I'm gonna text her. I don't have service here," Aoi said as he pulled out his cell phone and lit the screen. Well, he had full service here, but Kira wouldn't understand what the white bars in the corner of his screen meant. Suddenly, Aoi felt like he was one of the weirdos he mentioned. Ah, but aren't I doing this to protect her? It certainly was a dilemma for him. For Kira, was he good or bad? If he were to ask those he intimately knew, they would vary their answers depending on what they wanted from him. Whether it was a favor, money, or his body, he couldn't trust them. Ask someone he kept a superficial relationship, something more honest would result. However, he rarely kept superficial relationships. They were taxing. Pretending, acting like he was a decent human being. No, Aoi was a dirty and sly as those weirdos. Sometimes, even worse if the right buttons were pushed. Then again, most of those buttons have long died, yet their memories still linger.
Clucking his tongue, Aoi brought up Pele's number in his inbox before pointing to Kira and the short-shorts she held. "Those shorts are too big for you. Give me a few minutes and I'll help you out with finding the right size. In the meantime, check out the shirts and jackets. They'll be less perplexing." He smiled as he turned around and walked out the door, nodding to the doll-like boutique owner. However, he didn't go far, only stepping in front of the store window with the Victorian dress when he started texting Pele. Might as well show evidence that I did in fact text her, he thought as he glanced around. Then, taking a shallow breath, without even moving his lips, Aoi mumured one name: "Ollor."

As soon as the words left Zaya's lips, it was overheard by a passing wind and sped away.
{Enter Ollor}
Ollor swept into the road, bringing with him the sharp tang of salt air and a cool humidity that took the edge off the sun. His wind blew briskly over Zaya as he encircled the man. Ollor was anxious, for he had just recently learned that a wind spirit from a neighboring realm had came into his realm of order and then subsequently disappeared. While he wasn't necessarily concerned within the goings-on of the other realms, seeing as how Kuro Shiro was practically a closed system, it did give him cause for concern. Especially if the Wind Lords actually got involved to see why it happened. But he had yet to hear anything from any of his winds about it. But now Zaya had called him personally, and he was curious as to what the water elemental wanted. "Well met, Zaya. Good to see you still alive after your encounter with the Enslaver. I trust the Fire elemental is free and alright?" Ollor said as briskly as his wind, even though he already knew the answer. He could feel her close by, and was awed by how strong and old a flame she was. She got quite the power on her, makes me wonder how that Enslaver got his hands on her.
Kira's brow furrowed as Zaya explained himself, she could tell he was lying. I am still not sure of this Skype thing, but it shouldn't have worried him as much as it did. But Kira chose to let him have it, deeming it as something Zaya had to do on his own. He had been good to her so far, and therefore was willing to trust him to handle this... whatever it was he wasn't telling her. So she left to wander through the shirts and jackets basing her idea of normal on Zaya's clothing and those of the girls that had flirted with him in the restaurant. She picked up a cotton tunic though, just for the familiarity. The loose sleeves, soft fabric, and wide neck gave her pleasant memories of Gaelic fishermen that had helped her travel between the lands and of Roman peasants in the fields she used to run around in. It was simple fabric, just off white with little embroidery, but she preferred it. She moved on to jackets and continued to ruffled through as she waited on Zaya.

The scent of the sea and the cool humidity that often accompanied it passed over and encircled Aoi. So he was here. A small town often lead to messages being passed rather quickly, more so when it involved the winds. As he sent another text to Pele, Aoi listened to Ollor speak the way wind spirits did, brisk and to the point. Again, speaking without moving his lips—an old skill taught to him during his early years in the imperial army—Aoi glanced over at Kira. "Her name is Kira, and she's surprisingly resilient after her ordeal with Scarface." But it didn't mean she would be "cured" of all her trauma. "She may have started falling for me. It's troublesome." Staring up at the sky, Aoi let a slightly peeved look show on his face. Romantic relationships were troublesome. Most partners wanted sex. Aoi felt no desire for sex, or romance. To him, if he did engage in sex, it was in exchange for something else. He'd have to tell Kira at least the first half of that. She didn't need to know he acted as a prostitute from time to time.
"Kira aside, I've a favor to ask of you. Follow the passengers of the three black sedans that came into town. From their appearance, they are belong to yakuza." Aoi looked back at his phone when Pele's ringtone sounded. "I only know one reason they would be here: The white dragon, Fuyuki Hiryū, is missing. He belongs the yakuza. Hiryū is a naive child, Ollor. I think he might have gone after the purple dragoness and gotten himself captured by Scarface." He sighed as he continued his conversation with Pele before glancing at the street. The sedans rolled by again, this time heading down the road to the forest, which often led to the mountains. And in the mountains is a cave containing the gigantic black dragon and Scarface. "These men will be mostly composed of dragons and all will be armed to the teeth. They can wreck the town if it meant rescuing Hiryū."
Destroy the town, destroy all the lives within it. Aoi knew how they operated. Japanese, Chinese, it didn't matter. Once they were given an order, they followed it without fail. "Please prove me wrong, Ollor. Please prove Hiryū isn't missing and his family isn't here to destroy whoever has him." Was it wrong of him to ask Ollor of this? It was a favor and Aoi was willing to return the favor as needed. All he was asking the wind spirit was to observe the yakuza men and not engage them.

Ollor listened to Zaya's description of the fire elemental Kira, pondering at why in the world a man would sound peeved at the idea of such a lovely lady liking or even loving him. But he instantly swirled to attention at the mention of a favor. So soon after doing a favor for me? That's a relief. he thought, up until he heard what the favor was. Ollor had heard from neighboring winds what the yakuza were, as well as their reputation. Them plus the still alive Enslaver meant trouble. Why did the dragon have to be yakuza? Kuro and Shiro won't be pleased, they'll think I've slipped up on my job, and the Wind Lords with their issue on this missing spirit. I get the suspicion that they're all together. Ollor told Zaya "I can get someone right on it, just one sec." before creating an updraft for himself and rising until he was clear of the town. From there he asked one of the slipstream winds if they could convey a message to the mountain winds to look out for three black sedans carrying a lot of men with a lot of guns and told the winds to relay the order to notify him of anything. He also asked them to keep an eye out for the missing wind spirit. That done, he descended back to Zaya "We'll know about all of it within a few minutes or so. But I will say this, we wind spirits don't like killing, but you probably shouldn't have shown mercy to that Enslaver." Ollor sighed, It would have made my job a whole lot simpler.

Because Ollor was a wind spirit, an entity without a physical form, Aoi not read his facial expressions, but he was sure Ollor could read his. However, what the wind spirit made of it was unknown and Aoi had little time to fret about it. What was a worry was being unable to tell where the wind spirit was, though he adjusted to the situation as best as he could. It was certainly different from his time under Cong Li, when the wind spirits did as they liked without giving a word. People were toys for those spirits. Thinking of them made the water elemental bring up the hate he harbored for them. Whatever, I haven't returned to China since Master's death. He furrowed his brows as he decided to text his son. If he was to play the waiting game, he might as well talk to his son since he was so close to Pele. I suppose it's a good thing Lia is an aesthetic. The urge to smoke popped into Aoi's mind as he felt Ollor return to him.
"I chose Kira over Scarface. Mercy wasn't an issue," he said as he continued texting Lia, "and I don't regret it. I only regret not looking back, Ollor." As he spoke without moving his lips, Aoi felt a deep sigh and the urge to smoke growing. However, he squashed those weak feelings as quickly as they arose. "Though if those dragons have their way, Scarface will be dead." It was true, unless the dragons decided Scarface was better off as a pet than dead. He heard worse of the American branch of the yakuza, which were more ruthless than their parent group. It was scary to think they were in town. "But if they don't kill him, I will find a way to kill him." Aoi didn't like killing, he was tired of it, just as he was tired of many things, but he had a talent for it.
As his mind ran through all the possibilities, Aoi noticed two familiar figures in the distance. "Hey! Sol! Luna!" he called out, waving to gain their attention. It was perfect. Now he wouldn't have to bother them in their room at the inn.
Quickly, Aoi ducked his head into the doorway of the clothing boutique. "Kira, I'll be right back. I found some people you'll love to meet." He grinned before ducking back out and discretely motioning for Ollor to join him if he wished.
[Exit Aoi to Town Square.]
