Hrm...Foleigh cocked his head to one side, a thoughtful, musing expression on his face. Really, what sort of story WOULD he like to hear? He didn't have a lot of experience to draw on, so he didn't really know what sort of stories there all even WERE! "Well...I remember liking adventure stories when I was a colt. You know, the sort where a brave hero goes venturing off into the great world and saves the day? I never wanted to go out and do those heroic things, but they were certainly exciting to listen to," he finished with a chuckle. "Though I trust you and..Damselfly, did you say your sister's name was? Well, I trust you guys to come up with an awesome story, no matter what the subject. I really don't know all what sorts I might like hearing, to be honest." The curse of a limited experience!

But even with his limited experience, he knew there was a valid argument in what Dragonfly was saying. How long had Foleigh been on this journey now, with Dragonfly the first friend he'd made? "Yeah...making friends isn't as easy as some people make it out to be!"

Dragonfly beamed at his suggestion. Stories of bravery were certainly something he enjoyed himself. Often he tried to embelish upon them as much as he could. The hero being dashing and famous. While the Princess was always in mortal danger and had been the most beautiful damsel in all the lands. Certainly any damsel that was less than the most beautiful in all the lands was not worth a heroes time to save! Or that was how he felt anyway. And much of the stories he had already weaved showed it. He was lucky his sister had been so willing to go along with such terrible ideals. "Adventure stories are wonderful! They are my favorite thing to tell!" He mused for a moment. "Though... If I made one for you... I think I would have to change the way I told it. It would be the first time I would need to do such a thing as well." He smiled at the stallion. "I think the story would need a little less embelishment and a little more realism. Certinly the hero would be no less dashing, but the maiden may need to be a bit more down to Earth as it were. Maybe even have a higher station than to simply be pretty." His smile widened as the ideas in his head formed into a small test story. Or at least formed the characters who might take part in the tale.

He looked over him eagerly. "That's correct. My sister is Damselfly. And I'm sure that she would help me create the perfect story for you. One to inspire you on your long journey." He laughed a bit as the other started musing over the difficulties in making friends. "It's certainly a more tiresome and large task than others make it all out to be, right?"

Truth be told, Foleigh was sadly uninformed when it came to princesses, beautiful or otherwise. His experiences with mares had been very limited; not only had he originally settled down the with the first mare he ever got friendly with, he’d had a very male-dominated upbringing. His mother had died when he was a young colt, and he’d had only brothers. There had been his cousin Liani, but their paths hadn’t crossed much as they’d aged; though they could easily have passed as twins when it came to their looks, there was nothing similar about their personalities! Liani had been unabashedly bored with the world; consequently, she was always on the move, always drifting along in pursuit of something to hold her attention. Foleigh, of course, had been a creature of habit, loving the familiar and the steady and, until now, never traveling at all.

Really, his daughter was the closest thing he knew to a princess, and even that was stretching it! No one would accuse Aleda of being fairy tale material any time soon…

Still, the prospect of hearing a new adventure story made Foleigh feel a sense of anticipation, one he hadn’t felt in who knows how long! Even if he didn’t know quite what Dragonfly meant with his talk of ‘stations.’ What, exactly, was a station? Still, his smile remained wide, and he was as polite as ever in his response. “I’m sure whatever you two come up with will be wonderful, and a pleasure to listen to. I only hope I’m able to remember it all, so I can tell it again later! Well, tell it as well as I can; I’ve never really been good at performing, or anything like that,” he added with a modest dip of his head. Though truth be told, he’d never tried to cultivate that skill: he was terrified of the very idea of being the center of attention! But perhaps his daughter would like to hear the story, or his sons, the next time he ran across either of them! Because who knew when this journey would be ending, as Dragonfly so astutely pointed out! Foleigh couldn’t help but chuckle; how true that comment was! “Yes…journeying is something easier said than done, as I’m finding out firsthand. But it also doesn't seem as terrible as I’d originally feared, so I shouldn't really complain.”

He knew that wouldn't stop some people, but it had never been his way to sweat the small stuff. Or sweat at all, really; even setting out on this journey had done little to truly ruffle his feathers. THAT had happened earlier, when Aleda had first pitched her extraordinary idea to him. Who knew the girl had such lofty aspirations for them as to see her father find a new lifemate?

“Do you or Damselfly have any children, Dragonfly, to help inspire your stories?” Perhaps this was an impertinent question; Foleigh didn’t have enough experience with strangers to know. But it was something that he suddenly found himself wondering; after all, stories and children seemed perfectly suited to one another!

Dragonfly smiled at the other stallion. It was such a mind boggling thing that someone didn't have any experience in traveling, or outside their own little world. It was such a strange thing... Someone like that didn't have much experience in... well... almost anything. It was almost an amusing thought really. Someone who hadn't been out and about in different areas of the town. Or in different towns and such. There are so many different things that this other stallion would be able to experience now. So many different things that he would be able to experience and tell his own daughter of when he got home. It was a rather exciting thought. Being able to go out into the world and experience things for the first time. Things that he had never seen or thought about before. It would be rather amazing to get to experience those things for the first time again. Perhaps his new found friend would enjoy having some of those experiences with Dragonfly himself! It would be wonderful to see what he actually thought of things like the dessert, or of things like Kelpis! They would be a rather astounding thing for him to see!

Dragonfly smiled at Foleigh widely. "I'm sure that anyone you came across would be MORE than happy to hear the story my sister and I may be able to come up with! I don't see why how you told it would matter." He looked at him thoughtfully, "And if you went ahead and added your own things to it, the story would become your own over time! That means it would be even better to get to tell over and over again. You could even change around the characters. Or change the ending! The journey you are on now may even inspire you to create your own story." He bounced up and down with such excitement. Enjoying the idea that this one may be able to improve upon his own story. It would be so interesting and so much fun!

Dragonfly stopped for a moment, he had not actually been expecting such a question. Not many had asked such things of him, after all. He was mostly asked about how he inspired his own stories. Though he was always happy to share about how his and his sister's adventures have always inspired their stories. And certainly their own imagination had expanded their stories even further. They had enough between the two of them to expand upon their stories immensely.

"Neither of us have children of our own." He looked at him lightly, "It's something that we just haven't obtained yet. The only thing that has eluded us, as far as I know." He thought on it for a moment, "I don't think that she went and had any children though."

He sat for a moment, "I certainly wouldn't mind having children I think. Though I'm not really sure that they would improve on our stories any. Not unless we told stories of the trouble they would probably get into." He smiled a bit. "I know that Damselfly and I certainly got into trouble when we were younger... Though it was mostly from our stories... And a few pranks." He laughed a bit at the thought of their old exploits. "Were your own children often trouble?"

There were some Soquili (or Usdia!) who might be upset at having their life's experiences laid out so baldly for the world to see. But Foleigh had always subscribed to the theory that only people who had done shameful things should be ashamed of themselves and their pasts; he had never done anything even remotely shameful, so what did he care if Dragonfly knew of his life? Considering how contented he'd been with his life before starting out on this grand adventure, it was hardly surprising he was willing to be so open with Dragonfly; the other stallion's warmth and friendliness only made Foleigh more eager to talk and share. So he'd never had much for excitement in his life before; big deal. He'd never been the type to desire excitement, and just because he was now living the life of a wandering listener didn't change that!

Which was why he doubted Dragonfly's words when the blue stallion said that 'how' he told a story was minimal. Foleigh was sure that Dragonfly knew what he was talking about; after all, the guy was a professional weaver of webs, teller of tales! Even just talking ABOUT telling a story, Dragonfly was animated and alive. He made one want to sit and listen; Foleigh was sure that he'd enjoy listening to a weather prediction, if Dragonfly was the one doing the telling.

Still, he was willing to try, so he gave Dragonfly a bright nod. "Well, I'll at least listen and learn the important parts as well as I can from you, Dragonfly. Maybe I'll practice telling it to myself for a while before I try it out in front of an audience. I'm sure that it'll get easier after I've run through the story a few times...maybe after hearing YOU run through the story a few times," he said with a soft chuckle. "You and your sister are the experts, after all. It would be enough for me to share your words, never mind thinking of making up my own." He just didn't have that much of an imagination, plain and simple.

But he WAS surprised to hear that neither Dragonfly or Damselfly were parents. They just seemed like the sort that would be so good with children; at the very least, Dragonfly seemed like that type, and Damselfly SOUNDED like that type. Perhaps they had spent time around other non-related children and that had helped them get to the level of...comfort that they now displayed. "I'm sure that when you guys each reach that point, you'll be wonderful parents. Children are a real blessing, in my experience." And he had gone into the whole 'fatherhood' thing with a much smaller skill set than Dragonfly! "I was no storyteller, obviously, so I don't know how much help they'd be to your craft...but maybe their antics would provide you with a little more info for your stories. My boys were certainly a handful when they were small," he chuckled as he remembered, "But my little Aleda was a much more laid-back sort. As far as I know, she tended to behave herself!"

Dragonfly flitted his wings excitedly at Foleigh. This little stallion was sure to do big things! He knew it in his heart of hearts and soul of souls! After all, one who seemed to do just about anything for his children was certainly a stallion to be looked up to. Even more so since the small stallion was going so far out of his comfort zone. One who has never adventured before going out and having an adventure because his child decided that he should is certainly something to be admired at the least! He was certainly good at listening too. That would be something to make a story out of for sure...

He smiled at the stallion and trotted a wide circle around him. This stallion would certainly have a story to tell when he got back to his children. Dragonfly wanted to make sure of that for sure. If for no other reason than it would probably make his daughter the happiest she had probably ever been listening to her father. And most of the story wouldn't even have to be made up! If any at all. The stallion was sure to think a lot of things were interesting that Dragonfly had never thought of before. He would have to try and stay with him for a while. See what this stallion would think of things while he was out and about.

"I'm sure that you could make up your own story as well!" He stuck his nose up near Foleigh's own, "I mean, you are going on a grand adventure! What else could possibly make a better story than your first adventure!?" Flitting his wings about, he bumped his flank against his new friend. "You wouldn't have to even make up this story! All the wonderful things that you are going to be able to see for the very first time! Can you even imagine?" Dragonfly giggled.

Thinking for a moment, he answered slowly. "I'm actually... not sure... how it really would be to have children of my own. How would I pull pranks? I would certainly not be able to pull as many pranks I'm sure. And traveling would probably be more difficult." He tilted his head in thought, "It would probably make plenty of interesting stories though. That part is certainly true! I'm sure that you have plenty of stories from raising up your own children, yeah?" He giggled a bit and hopped back in front of Foleigh.

"Would you like to help me make up a story for you?" He smiled and flitted his wings, "I'm sure you have some ideas after all! We can start out with the basics of the basics! That way we can make it nice and simple. And we don't have to make it up all at once. It can be over time. That way you have TWO stories to tell your children when you get back home!" Dragonfly's smiled simply got bigger, "One you made up and one you made on your adventure!"
