yus after all she knows about the phoenixes and wishes no troubles before time. After all she still has to set up her scheme. She can't have a wandering monk blow everything up now can she?
-❝ What?! ❞- Startled after Illo finding out about the dessert's fate she quickly grabbed the plate from his hands and sniffed it herself. -❝ Oh no, and I was saving it for a special occasion ❞- Sighing in disappointment because of the failure of the dessert, she quickly dismissed Illos accusation. -❝ Oh geez no, what kind of mother do you think I am... I mean it's not like you are two coming here to visit to tell me I'm going to be a grandma right? Therefore I have no need to turn with violence against you. ❞- She giggled gently for a few seconds. -❝ Right? ❞-
-❝ Good, then we don't have anything to worry about. ❞- Petting the monks head she would later put thought onto his words. -❝ Oh I'm sure she can help herself with something. But it would be a shame to put all that cake to waste. But better take it out now before someone gets to bite on it. ❞- With that, he would proceed to dispose of the cake and return moments later with just an ordinary apple. -❝ I hope this would do for now. ❞- After the devil machine sat next to Illo a few steps would be heard. The barefooted redhead would drop by with some light clothing. -❝ Phew, that was refreshing. ❞- With no warning at all, Melani would lean her back against Illo's arm whilte taking on her sip of tea. Illo could see the hint of an eye twitch on Eva's eyes as Melani was so casually attached to Illo. More over since there were hints of bruises on her shoulders but those were because of her special training with the Monk and Nariaki. -❝ Is there something else you would like to talk about Illo dear? ^ ^. ❞- She asked with a gentle tone but Illo could feel a murderous intent behind those sweet words as Melani kept carelessly close to the monk.
Ah, the apple, fruit of knowledge we are told. Man does own all of his triumphs to knowledge, you know? But of course, the apple is not the fruit which Eve tempted Adam with. It isn't easy to be innocently menacing, but Illo seems to to a patent on a formula for it.
Hmmm? Oh, yes, I do! We're been training hard, you see, and whenever Melani was too tired to go on I would start to meditate, and, well, here's the habit she picked up. I don't even notice she's there most times. The clueless cleric went on without the slightest hint that there was anything wrong with this picture.

I must say I cried the first times since I ended up sore and trembling. But he was right I could endure it... eventually getting to like it. It doesn't hurt anymore either. ❞- Eva's eyes twitched frantically as how vague where both of them. -❝ I-is that so Dear? ❞- Her calm voice managed to barely hide her intentions of ripping the monk's head off if she didn't had a descent explanation. -❝ Yup, We like to do it a lot. So mostly we do it in the mornings. Sometimes I think sempai is a bit pushy, it's like he's not satisfied with just an hour. And we do it every single day. One would easily get tired but he's like a super man or something ❞- She giggled holding onto the monk's arm. As Eva was within a 10 second countdown of Illo's last seconds on earth.
Eye twitching was generally not a good thing. Illo eventually noticed this and nudged Melani.

After a long a rather detailed explanation in comparison of the previous overly vague one both Illo and Melani shared. Eva held a tiny grasp of what the misadventures of her daughter had been so far. -❝ So, you've slain a demon. ❞- This should proof usefull. However, Illo had incidentally set the engines of time on Melani. She needed to be raised properly. Dear, would you go and get us some desserts at the store? I'm afraid the pie I've saved had spoiled. And we wouldn't want our guest to miss dessert now, would we. Melani Nodded and without any sign of self awareness nor care, she went outside just the way she was currently dressed and ventured in pursue of said dessert. With that a sigh escaped from her lips before turning over Illo. -❝ As sad as it makes me, I believe you've no idea of how to raise a weapon properly do you? I couldn't blame you. After all Monk center themselves on this physical training thing. Not much to do with weapons. But there's something you must know if you are to be my daughter's partner ❞- Eva frowned as to emphasize how serious this was, she even grasped her clothing appearing nervous but trying to get the courage to speak. -❝ Melani... she would never become a deathscythe. No... she can, however, she mustn't. After all, you said she just ate a demon soul didn't you? That means... she made the same decision as her father. ❞- Those warm eyes grew sadder over time rather quickly as she tried to explain. -❝ You were right when they said there be needed a special attention to raise a weapon. For it was no easy task. 5 demon souls 5 witch souls 5 evil souls and 6 innocent souls.
Unlike normal weapons, my husband was raised as a rather unique weapon. As far as I knew, everything would be safe, such as long as he did not consumed the demon souls. For those ignite the devilish reaction that consumes their mind. Witches are hard to fight, Demons are not any easier. But the property in both souls carry a vast amount of madness. Should he not succeed he would turn into a Kishin cocoon and eventually fall into the path of madness. That is way it must be fed with 6 innocent souls to bring balance to madness. He refused to take innocent people's lives, let alone their souls. He tried to endure as much as he could but eventually madness consumed him and... I... ... she was still so young. I couldn't possibly let her be taken...so.. I had to protect her whatever it take. ❞- She would look Illo straight into his eyes before holding onto his robe tightly. -❝ Mr Monk, a mother give everything to keep their children safe. But now, because of the demon soul my beloved daughter is at risk of becoming the same as her father. I can't protect her from this for she's no longer my only concern. Her sister's need me. Thus I must beg you. Name your price. See to it that the ritual is fulfilled and the souls are gathered. She already ate a Demon soul, the recipe for a Death scythe would no longer work on her. Our only chance to save her is to get those souls. Taking in consideration you already took one by yourselve I trust you are strong enough to get the other 4. Should you do so the witches wouldn't be as problematic. Even less the evil souls. But the tricky part are the innocent souls. And that I know is too much to ask. But, must I beg you to bear with this. I can't get the demon souls or witch souls for my daughter. But I do have the innocent souls. People that knew me and my husband. Who died tranquil deaths by their long age. Have donated their souls to me should the situation arise to prevent any of my child to suffer the same path as her father did. Please.❞- The Devil machine buried her face upon the monk's chest, as soon his robe would feel warm, and soaked. The mother's body trembled as the sobbing would not be halted. -❝ Please, I beg you great Phoenix. Save my daughter. Do not let her become a monster... please spare me to see my child be dragged into grave before me. ❞- Eva begged Illo with teary eyes as she would soon show herself more vulnerable. Apparently the news of her daughter acquiring a demon soul did shocked her. And had only remained strong in front of her daughter not wanting her to know the truth. -❝ Whatever your price is I'll pay it, but please, save my child... ❞-

Illo held Eva out a little to look at her. She did look sincere, and as far as Illo could tell the story did check out. There were just a few details which the monk wanted to ponder.
Don't cry, now. You must be so lonely now. I'm sorry I took one of your precious daughters. The monk scratched his head, still wearing his hood for some reason.
I'm afraid I must confess as well: I haven't the slightest idea of how to make a weapon stronger. I was told that the weapons of Shibusen ate souls to become stronger, and that's what I gave Melani. I had no idea there was an order. You are right, the brotherhood only concerns themselves with personal training.
...I'm not sure how you know that, but it doesn't matter now. The important issue is saving Melani from the pitfalls of madness. Truly, it is a terrible fate... The monk paused here again for some reason. He seemed to be closer to the conversation now, but wouldn't say why. Instead he go up and took out a piece of bark from his cloak casually.
Please, do not cry anymore, ma'am.
I shall retire to meditate on the next course of action. Please excuse me. With that, Illo found his way to the sliding glass door and the patio deck outside. The breeze was calm, loving really, and the fauna were quiet. Illo would call upon theirs and the wisdom of the universe itself to route a path through this journey he knew he would be thrown into.
He paced back and forth on the deck for a little bit, then threw his arms up as if to embrace the sun. Then he sat down in lotus, his hands falling into his lap, making a cup shape. All through this he was chanting his arcane sequences, filling the area with echoes, the illusion bordering on byzantine. There he would stay for a while, and if Eva knew much about the Phoenix, she would know to try to stop him.
-❝ I'm sorry. This must be really troublesome for you I can figure that much. ❞- Stated Eva trying to clear her tears as she calmed down after hearing Illo's apparent "yes". And as he immersed himself into meditation she would try her best to clean her tears before Melani could get her way inside.
After a few hours Eva would appear to feel better as the door opened only to see the cheerful Melani minding her own business. -❝ Guys I got a few icecream at the store, there was this huge line at the corner store so I had to walk my way to the mall but it was worth it. ❞- She replied with a wide grin, Eva managed to smile back, not showing any tears but it was clear she didn't wished to get near Melani or she would most likely notice the remnants in her eyes. -❝ Ara ara, did you have fun while looking for those? Why don't you offer some to our guest when he's done meditating. ❞- She motioned her to the table while Eva went into the kitchen trying to clear up her act as convincing as possible. -❝ Huh? Sempai are you at this again? You can meditate later, c'mon let's eat some icecream. ❞- Said the cheerful weapon while poking the monk's shoulder.
To those in a transcendental state of mind, the experiences of normal sensory input are a bit skewed. That's an understatement, but Illo didn't hear Melani come in the apartment, or feel the tapping on his shoulder for that matter, but instead heard a series of clicks and felt a dull tingling in his shoulder.
More important than that, though, was the way Illo perceived the energy around the apartment and the soul signatures. The energy around was quiet, as if being hushed by fear of some unseen threat and all the souls themselves seemed to be normal, that is except for one: Eva's. There didn't seem to be any soul wavelength from her at all. Illo searched far, extending his perception all around Death City. And while he was able to locate even Shinigami's soul, he could not find Eva's. He woke from his trance with a serene look on.
Ice cream? You're sure you don't want to train a little first? It always makes dessert taste better, you know? He looked at Eva through the sliding door.
Your mother could wield you, and you could both come at me, it'll be great!
-❝ Sempai what a mood killer, always training. Why can't we relax for a bit and have some icecream instead. Besides it's not fair you already had your tea. I haven't even taken mine. ❞- Replied Melani, mostly because she did wanted to have some ice cream. Back with Eva, the devil machine was rather surprised by Illo's proposal. -❝ You want to fight me? oh but that would be rude. I couldn't possibly harm my guest. ❞- Replied with some giggles as the mannerism of her hands hinted she tried to dismiss the thought. -❝ Besides, it is against the rules. The landlord would be greatly upset should he find us fighting within his property. ❞-

Very well, it seems I am out voted. Let's have some ice cream. As he passed Eva on the way to the table, Illo let the both of them know he knew something was wrong with this whole picture, but only one of them would catch it.
A relaxing night should be good for the soul, don't you think?
-❝ What I mean was that I couldn't possibly call myself a good host if I raise my hand against my guest, wether or not I deal damage to them.❞- As the monk approached, Eva's eyes widened. He didn't expected monks had developed soul perception. -❝ Yes, it should. Please, you'll be welcome to stay with us tonight. ❞- With that being, Melani proceeded to give away the icecream for everyone to help themselves.
Oh, no, I wouldn't think of troubling you any more than we already have, the monk said as he sat down at the table. He did hesitate to eat the ice cream, as it was one of his favourite brands. That, and he knew it wasn't spoiled.
Now that Melani is progressing so much, I don't think I'll have to keep her away from home so long... I'm sorry to worry you, ma'am.
