"It makes it harder to work as a hunter." Jason began to explain, frowning as he was cut again. "Our weapons are what allows us to fight FEAR based creatures. They generate our FEAR shields, give us advice and help us to heal when we are injured. In short, they kept us alive. If we don't trust them, then it makes it harder for them to do so" He went to lunge again, but apparently his feet where out of whack today as he tripped again. HP: 28 Damage: 0

That was an interesting thought. Alistaire pulled on the chains, trying to equal out the balance between the two daggers as he took a few steps backwards. "So that's why we heal faster than normal humans, is it not?" he asked, and tapped the point of one blade thoughtfully against his chin. "I suppose they could just stop healing us, then, if they wanted?"
He smiled, a quick hit to Jason's arm.
"Theoretically speaking, of course."

Jason held his blade up with one arm, blocking the majority of the strike to his arm. "E-er...I s-suppose they could, theoretically." He had never thought about it that way. He did know that a weapon had to follow whatever the hunter said even if they hated the hunter, but then again he had never considered what would happen if they just refused to follow orders. It wasn't like a hunter could just be given a new weapon. He stepped forward and went for a thrust to Alistaire's chest. "I've heard of weapons and hunters not liking each other, which can make things difficult, but I haven't heard of one trying to kill their hunter..." Yet. HP: 25 Damage: 4

What a curious thought. It made him wonder what would happen if, theoretically, a weapon tried to stop healing their hunter, if it were even possible. Alistaire wound up a few links of the chains in a thoughtful sort of way, still lost in thought as the sword swung towards him.
"Weapons and their hunters are bonded," Alistaire mused, wincing from the the last hit. He straightened again. "But that doesn't necessarily equate to them being forced to do the other's bidding, at least in the case of healing. Ah, but this is really just all of my curiosity," he said, a slow, amused smile touching his lips.

The was this conversation was going was making the moon trainee very uncomfortable. They were simple questions, but they were probing on some of the very things that made them hunters. Jason had never put much thought into the bond between a hunter and their weapon having learned to trust his a very long time ago. But the idea of a weapon purposely choosing to not help them... He struck out again, frowning slightly at Alisatire. "In a sense you're right. The weapon has to obey what the hunter says most of the time, but there are other times they can choose not to." He wasn't a fan of his opponents curiosity either. HP: 21 Damage: 2

The concept of weapons was fascinating to Alistaire. While Grimshaw wasn't submissive by any means, he instinctively seemed to know what to do when the time came for attacking; a strange, irrevocable bond between the two of them. Alistaire was in charge and Grimshaw was his faithful servant, in a sense - a very loud, feral, growling servant.
"Does your weapon obey you, Mr. Kenneth?"

Sensing a lull in the battle, Jason took the opportunity to dish out some damage, dashing past the sun trainee and thrusting his arm forward in what could have been a lethal stab to Alistaires back hadn't he know the FEAR shield could take it. "M-most of the time." He answered truthfully. "He can be a handful, but I know Zanthvos will do as I say if need be. Sometimes though I end up taking orders from him, if he knows more about the situation." Because it was best to let a halloween creature direct you about halloween matters, at least in his opinion. HP: 21 Damage: 13
