He took a deep breath as she leaned against him and slowly he just relaxed a little more. That was.. interesting. Kor never really had someone to lean on since his gang, and well, that had ended horribly. Still, this wasn't exactly the same situation, and she wasn't addicted to drugs like ...Junpei had been. Green eyes slipped half closed as he listened to the question and then hummed. "No. Never adopted. Bounced from foster home to foster home. Don't know what happened to them. I never cared enough to ask. It was one of those: they didn't care enough to keep me, I won't care enough to get to know them, kinds of situations. I know it's bad of me, but you write me off, I write you off. That's how I feel about it." Kor shrugged then and hummed. It was still crowded. He wouldn't get up to get their coffee just yet, so he looked down at her with a smirk. "Did I shatter your thoughts on me?"

Her thumb twitched and began a slow, gentle stroking motion when she felt him relax. "I mean it Kor... I'm here for you if you ever wanna talk." Or if he didn't, and just needed someone to sit with. Then she gently tugged on the arm she had hugged with a small 'gimme'. When the arm in question unwound, Laine wrapped it around herself as she tucked herself against his side. "...Feel better?" Laine hadn't missed the way he seemed to slightly zone out for a moment there. She shook her head lightly. "No.. I'd probably feel the same way if I were in that sort of situation. It makes some sense to do that I think." Then she grinned. "Nope. Still my big tough guy tattoo artist who apparently can't take the heat. What do you do during heat waves?"

His arms were forced open and one was wrapped around her now and all Kor did was make a low noise and laugh, holding her a bit closer. "I.. didn't really feel bad. Just trying to process things." He gave her a bit of a wink and then slowly let one of his fingers toy with her hip where his hand had landed because he was kind of really lanky. "Your big tough guy? Yours?" Kor's grin turned impish and he slid his fingers to toy with the hem of her dress just a bit before humming. "Stay inside, naked, lounging on the couch with the AC cranked and a fan on me." Blunt. Very blunt, though honest. "I would bring a fan to work, but the ink goes everywhere. Just not good for business. I tried it once and never again. I ended up repainting a wall because the ink wouldn't scrub off without peeling paint with it." Kor laughed at that and then hummed a little, thinking carefully. "Next question."

"What kinda things??" Laine asked gently, once more leaning against him. "Oh totally mine. I will boldly throw that claim out now and challenge anyone who dare question it." She grinned before it faded and she just sort of... stared, for a moment before turning a rather impressive shade of red. "Uhm... " She tried to say something... but the only things that spilled from her mouth were "Uh, er, um" and various other intangible things." She was now vaguely curious what he did during the winter... Next question, "Er... How'd you get into tattooing?" Smooth move.

That red is what he was going for and Kor just broke out into whole hearted laughter and almost doubled over before he remembered he he was holding her. It was a laugh that rang out through the lou crowd and actually turned heads, but he didn't care. With his free hand, he dabbed at his eyes and tried to calm down before swallowing. Jesus. She was great. Easily flustered and it just made it that much better for him. "O man, if only you could have seen your face. So cute.. Oh I'm going to die of air loss.." Wth a sigh he got himself under control and just giggled now. "Uh.. Eheh, I got started young. You know, the way I grew up we did tats illegally. Stolen tattoo guns and ink, in dirty places that we tried to clean up. When I got my first one I wanted in. I like the feeling of it. The pain. It's kind of therapeutic to me. Helps me focus. Then the sketching comes in and I can just..." He paused, looking for the word as he pressed his lips together. "...Drown everything else out. I think the turning point was when Junpei bought me my own gun before the gang broke up. I knew then that I had to get an actual shop and sort of..." He waved his hand. "Honor that? Kind of something like that."

"Oh my god shut up!" She whined, covering her face with her hands. "You did that on purpose!" ...Not that she was complaining but still! "Keep making comments like that and I might die from nose bleeds... God what am I gonna do with you.." Laine tried not to make too many faces as she listened, but she was nervous, despite it all being in that past. "You could have gotten hurt doing something like that.." Though she smiled when he described the almost euphoric like state. "...Like nothing can get to you. You can get lost in what you're doing and not have to worry about whats going on around you for once?" Laine however twitched slightly, her voice dropping. "...Junpei?" Gang? Was that the bad situation?

"Got an infection from a bad tattoo once, but... Eh. I'm alive, right?" He grinned and winked at her before nodding a little. Getting lost in what he was doing is what drove Kor to keep doing it. It was how he worked through his problems. He could connect with people without... really connecting to them if that made any sense. "As for what you're going to do with me... Nothing in public, but behind closed doors I can show you a thing or two." Then she asked about Junpei and Kor's chest hammered without him wanting it to and he just shrugged. "Junpei... Was with me when I first ran from my first bad foster family. He was fostered there too. We grew up like brothers, but we started foolin' around.. Dated for a long time. We weren't.. loyal to each other in the bedroom but every other way we were. ...Honestly he was the first one I ever really loved. We joined the gang together, got initiated together.. He was there when I took over and.. split when I wanted out. When I wanted something better. He couldn't believe I was turning into the guys who looked down on us. Turnin' into a suit, is what he said... His love turned ...to hate and we just haven't talked sense..." Kor frowned a little as he seemed to curl up on himself. He was staring at the table without really looking, lost in memories so strong even the smells were starting to fill his nose. "We turned tricks together.. got.. wasted, high. We did everything together..." Kor's voice trailed and he just gave a sad sort of laugh. "Now I don't know where he is.. if he's still alive.. Funny how life does that.."

"Sounds painful.." She murmured. Then she rolled her eyes and snorted quietly. "Who knows, maybe it's me who will show you a thing or two." "Shh..." Laine said, wrapping her arms around his shoulder's. "Kor..." She called gently trying to get his attention. "...Kor you don't... You didn't have to tell me that.. I would have understand if you said you didn't want to talk about it..." Laine brushed his bangs back, tucking what she could of it behind his ears. "That doesn't matter anymore hun... I told you, you've got me now." Laine wanted to tell him that it would be okay, but she knew enough that this was something that still got to Kor. So instead she just reached out and squeezed his hand before lancing their fingers together.

"...I told you, open book. You ask, and I'll tell you. My past is pretty heavy, but... It's me. It's why I am the way I am today." Kor just shrugged a little and watched her react. He didn't tell her for pity, not for attention, but because she'd asked. With a noise, he pressed his lips to her forehead and just squeezed those slender fingers with his own and pulled her slightly closer. "Honestly it's not that big of a deal, just.. sucks how things happened. Can't change them though, you know?" He looked around the shop again and then nodded. "I think we can go for our coffee."

"Even still babe..." She sighed quietly when he kissed her forehead, and she tried not to let the little noise he made break her. Laine nodded against him, staring at their hands. "...You're a better person for it Kor... It may hurt to remember, but..." She shifted again, glancing up at him as she gave their hands another squeeze. "...You wouldn't be here now if you didn't go through all that.." It had it's merits... even if it was a small one. Laine made a small noise of agreement, but made little to no attempt to disentangle themselves. At this point though, she was unsure if she didn't want to let go for her sake, or his..

He didn't let their hands go even as he got up, just tugged her with him. "Yeah. It's fine. Really! I promise I'm not going to cry or anything. Wouldn't want to ruin my make up." And he was wearing a bit of eye make up. Just a little bit to make his eyes seem wider than they were. "Let me tell you, eyeliner is a b***h, but I got the hang of it. My secret is a spoon. If you don't know it, I'll show you." The grin on his face was honest and it showed just how quickly Kor got over certain things. "So. Do you have any more questions? Or can I ask you one?"

Laine followed quietly, twisting herself in his arms every chance she got. ....Even if it made it awkward to walk. "I'm curious about that trick. I've given up on eyeliner and just stick to the shadow at this point.. And... A spoon. How." That didn't make any sense, but whatever. To each their own. "Out till I think of another one... So your turn."

"I'll show you, sweetie. It's not hard." Kor grinned and tilted his head to the side, looking her over. "...Any drug addictions I should be worried about? Maybe drinking? Oooh, are you addicted to sex?" Kor was definitely teasing her at this point, even going so far as to tug at her bangs lightly before it was their turn in line. He ordered himself a plain large black coffee with three shots of milk in it before looking to Laine. "Go on."

"Mmm. Nope. No drug addictions." Then she rolled her eyes. "Kor, I'm eighteen remember? I'd get s**t for even thinking about drinking." Then she sort of stared again, once more turning into an impressive shade of red while simultaneously shrinking against him. Laine didn't comment as he started playing with her hair, yet again. "Uhm. I'll tell you when we're at the table and not in a line." She squeaked lightly before ordering her "fancy" coffee. That comment only seemed to garner her more attention as the Baristo that had taken their orders instantly began making flirtatious comments. She would humor him and reply to some, but he was quickly becoming rather persistent. Did he just... not see the six-foot-five guy attached to her? Rude much. When they got their coffee's she had to suppress a groan. "Alright.. You know what? This is ridiculous." Laine grumbled as she wriggled her way out of Kor's arms and leaned over the counter to grab a fist full of the Baristo's apron. "Alright. Listen here, a*****e. First of all, Rude. You've seen that guy's had his arms around me the whole time we've been standing here. Second, you wanna know why I'm out with someone older than me? Because he, unlike you, know's how to treat a woman, he unlike you, can probably FIND his d**k." Laine knew for a fact he could, God bless first encounters... "And he, unlike you isn't an inexperienced little a*****e. Next time, keep your mouth shut. And might I recommend not making foam hearts and writing "Call me" with your number in someone else's coffee."

"Please, I was drinking since I was like... I don't know, twelve." Kor didn't drink much anymore but he definitely still drank. Then his green eyes spotted that red shade and he laughed a little more before grinning. Putting two and two together... "I'm going to keep you to that," he murmured softly. The flirtatious baristo made him grin and just look at him like 'Really dude?'. Shrugging good naturally, watched as Laine took control of the situation. He stared down at the little firecracker as she wiggled her way out of his arms and then laughed a bit more. God, Kor liked a woman that take care of herself. When she was finished, he just waved his fingers at the boy, slid him a twenty, and said, "Keep the change. Maybe you can buy a better personality." With that, he grabbed Laine around the waist and picked her up, carrying her off to the table again with a grin. "You're a regular cat! Claws out, I don't wanna mess with you!" Kor's twang came back with a lilt before he spun her around and put her right next to the table, chuckling. "At least I don't have to worry about you not knowing ow to deal with creeps."
