"I'm never fair," said Ian breezily, but he leaned happily into the kiss, the smile fading a little, less enthusiastic and more gentle affection. He sank down onto the bed, though he kept himself propped just a little up, so that he wouldn't crush Shiloh beneath him. He tugged a little on the pale strands of hair and then bent his head and kissed the tip of Shiloh's nose.

They could do this. They were going to do this, and it was going to work and they were going to work through whatever it was that needed to be worked through in order to be together. Hindsight was, unfortunately, 20/20, and Ian did not want to spend the rest of his life wondering what ifs and if only I had done this and that.

They were going to move in together. He would be living with Shiloh, waking up to him every morning and falling asleep to him every night. It was nearly overwhelming, and of course there were doubts and anxieties, but now was not the time to think of them, at least not in Ian's head.

He lifted a hand and cradled Shiloh's face against his palm, smiling at him.

"I'm so ******** glad that you exist," he said, and dropped his head and began laughing. His wandering hands slid beneath Shiloh's shirt, higher so that he could touch more skin, their hips pressed together, legs tangled, and Ian's mouth had found Shiloh's ear.

"I think we should do a proper christening of said bed when we get everything moved in, but until then, I wouldn't be averse to some hot Ian and Shiloh makeouts xoxoxo."

Ian's shoulders were shaking with the effort of holding back his laughter.

Shiloh’s cheeks turned a bright shade of read, of course he was glad Ian existed too, so incredibly glad, but hearing it aloud was different, to hear that his existence matter to someone, to Ian, to the person’s that matter most to his, well, coupled with the hands sliding beneath his shirt, warm and slinking against his skin, he was liable to faint just from the head rush of it all.

Luckily he was saved, in the end, by Ian’s superior wit, a wit so powerful that it had the power to stiffen Shiloh in all the wrong ways, as he promptly brought his hands up, pushing Ian up with the most unimpressed face he could manage, though it was admittedly quite difficult to keep his own laughter in check.

“I think I’m having second thoughts about this whole moving in thing, I’m not sure I’m ready to live with a teenager.”

Sitting up a bit himself, he leaned forward and caught Ian in a kiss, pulling at his lower lip gently with his teeth.

“Even if he’s totally a teen heartthrob, I don’t know if I can take the terrible jokes,” he paused, a smirk on his face as made a pointed glance downward, “Or the hormones.”

Ian was now laughing so hard he nearly rolled off the bed, his shoulders shaking. He felt Shiloh's hands pushing at him, and it just made him laugh more, clinging to Shiloh's waist, fingers digging into his hips in an effort not to be moved very far away.

"Oh come on," he said in mock outrage. "I'm at least an older teenager, let's be real here."

But then Shiloh was kissing him again, and Ian growled against his lips, a smile curving them upwards. His eyes flickered briefly to where Shiloh was looking, following his gaze with an amused one of his own before he crushed his mouth against Shiloh's again, his laughter muffled. Snuggling closer, he slid his arms around Shiloh and beneath him and then rolled, so that Ian was on his back with Shiloh on top of him this time.

"You can take the terrible jokes, and you can take me," he said, and let his hands wander a bit before they finally settled on Shiloh's hips. "You know you want to anyway," he added, with a waggle of his eyebrows. "All this hot man action going on right here, how can you resist all of that?"

He wiggled a little to get more comfortable and grinned.

"By the way, I charge a kiss and a buck for every shirt you borrow from me. Double if the shirt was actually yours but that you gave to me in the first place"

all I can say is that I wrote this on my phone so the innuendo is ttly not my fault rite?? ;D

"Physically you're definitely a grown-up," Shiloh admitted. "But mentally? I just dunno, Ian."

That was as far as he was willing to relent, or at least as far as he was able to before he found his mouth promptly occupied. Not being in any sort of mood to complain, Shiloh's fingers coiled in the neckline of Ian's shirt, pulling him even closer. But it wasn't long before Ian's arms had slid beneath him, scooping him up and rolling them both over. As Ian's hands settled onto Shiloh's hips, he settled onto Ian's, enjoying his vantage point as he straddled him, looking down with a grin.

"I can take you, huh? When you put it so sweetly, gee, I don't know how a guy could resist!"

He fluttered his eyelashes at Ian before breaking into laughter and leaning over to plant a kiss on his lips. It was affectionate at first, though it lingered with a certain amount of longing, a sort of insatiable hunger. He'd never get enough of Ian, no one lifetime would ever be enough. But while he was here, he figured, he might as well make the most of it.

Sitting back up, he glanced down at Ian curiously. "Like a dollar buck? Or..."

Ian raised his eyebrows.

"Mentally I'm about the same age as you," he teased, and poked Shiloh's side affectionately, trying to tickle him before his hands settled back onto his hips. He liked this closeness, couldn't really get enough of it; they were like two lovestruck teenagers discovering what hormones were for the first time, all laughter and passion and desire. Though what made it different was the very real sense of longing that drove Ian to want to be closer; the desperate desire to prove himself to Shiloh, to savor the fact that there was someone in the world who wanted him as much as he wanted him.

Ian's hands dug into Shiloh's hips, a grin his lips as Shiloh bent to kiss him. He raised one hand, touching the side of his face, sliding his fingers along his jawline before smoothing them through Shiloh's hair. They trailed away as Shiloh leaned back, and Ian found he was very comfortable. He reached out for Shiloh's hand and drew it to his lips.

"Like a dollar buck," he said with amusement, nibbling on Shiloh's fingertips affectionately. "But, you know, I'll take a certain other kind of buck too, if you know what I mean."

This was accentuated by an exaggerated waggling of his eyebrows and a wriggle of his hips, an obnoxious, teasing smirk clearly evident on Ian's face. He pushed himself upright into a sitting position, arms looping around Shiloh's waist as he hauled him close, his grip like iron.

"You make me happpyyyy," he sang softly, almost teasingly, but there was genuine adoration in his eyes as Ian covered Shiloh's mouth with his own, sliding one hand beneath his shirt to feel the warm skin of his back. "What did I ever do to deserve you, anyway?"

Shiloh scoffed, pretending to act indignant at the very thought of being on Ian’s level. But then he was giggling as Ian’s fingers found his sides, it was childish and silly but he didn’t care – he loved every single second of it. This was the reprieve he’d been missing, the perfect getaway from the island that had always been only an arm’s length. The laughter that flowed freely between them was a medicine he’d sorely missed, and he already felt lighter for it, from the top of his head to the tips of his toes, it was as though a weight had been lifted, his smile replaced.

He knew he shouldn’t depend on other people for his own happiness, but it’d been hard to smile, to really genuinely smile, without Ian, without knowing if he’d ever come back. But he was smiling now, beaming in fact, as he sat back from Ian.

“I’m not sure,” he said coyly, watching his fingers and Ian’s mouth with a sort of curious intent “Could you be more specific?”

The last part of his question trailed upwards, his voice raising an octave thanks to Ian’s deliberate hip rolling. Scrunching up his face, Shiloh was determined for revenge, only any plotting he had was interrupted as Ian crushed him into a hug, one he could barely move his arms enough to wrap them around Ian, let alone squirm his way out to retaliate.

Then Ian delivered the ending blow, hearing those words, Shiloh forgot all about the teasing and kidding around, his face upturned and staring at Ian with an honest hopefulness, an innocence that belied the way their mouths met, the way he softly sighed as Ian’s hand wandered beneath his shirt, leaning into the fingers playing gently against his skin. Shiloh mirrored the motion in turn, his own hands pushing up Ian’s shirt to splay over his stomach, then his chest as he pushed him down, all thoughts of ditching this for their original plan of cleaning, and now moving, forgotten.

He didn’t have the answer to Ian’s question, not in words anyway, as he leaned over him, his lips finding Ian’s neck and he pressed a kiss there, then another, tracing the line down to his collarbone.

They were supposed to be cleaning; or at least, they were supposed to be doing something productive, but in Ian's mind there wasn't much difference in being productive in one sense or being productive in this sense. They had spent too long apart, too many hours spent hating himself, too many days spent wandering aimlessly through the hallways of the Haunted House, hoping for something real, something to make him want to keep ahold of the life he was wasting away.

He'd already lost one precious person to him, he couldn't bear to lose another.

It was for this reason that Ian didn't care that they were supposed to be doing something else; this was just as important, because they were getting to know each other again, making up for all the time hat had been lost due to Ian's stupidity. He was only grateful that it had only been a month (even if that month had seemed endless), and not more, because perhaps one day more would have meant something else would have happened.

Maybe he wouldn't have ever gotten Shiloh back. Maybe he really would have died in that Haunted House, possessed by that terrifying creature who'd slit his throat. Either way, it was a miracle he was still here, a miracle he was still alive, and almost unbelievable that Shiloh was with him now.

Letting go was no longer an option.

Ian felt warm fingers against his stomach and then he was back to lying flat, cradling Shiloh's face in his hands briefly as they kissed; but then Shiloh's lips had found his neck and Ian's breath hitched in his throat, his eyes fluttering.

"Seeing as how I'm feeling a little...less than my usual self," Ian managed to get out, though he was terribly distracted. "I'm just going to let you take the reigns this time."

He reached up and impatiently tugged off Shiloh's shirt in one easy, quick gesture, and fumbled a bit to pull off his own as well, before wrapping both arms around Shiloh's neck, pulling him back down to crush their mouths together with absolutely zero intention of letting go anytime soon.

---

It was a while later that Shiloh finally roused himself, the sheets half kicked off and he shivered. Half asleep still, he scooted over and huddling closer to the source of warmth lying next to him. It distracted him for a moment, while he sleepily nuzzled his face onto the back of Ian’s neck, his hair soft against his cheek.

“Mmm,” he murmured appreciatively, and if he were a cat he would have probably been purring as his arms wound their way around Ian’s midsection, hugging him close. It hadn’t quite sunk in yet that this was reality and not some morning daydream; hatched up after many a night spent alone, he’d wake up to find himself spooning a pillow. Pillows were soft, he thought as he snuggled against Ian, but they weren’t warm like Ian, they didn’t smell like Ian, they, in short, were not Ian but merely a very poor substitute.

His head was clearing but he tried his best to cling to the last vestiges of sleep, to burrow back against Ian and this wonderful dream. He was afraid to open his eyes because everything might fade away in a blink, and he’d be left alone again with only the receding comfort of a dream.

He didn't know what time it was, just several hours had passed and he was currently lying on his side in his bed, the blankets only half on, the rest draping to the floor. There was something incredibly warm and wonderful wrapped around him from behind, and as Ian stirred, he could feel someone nuzzling the back of his neck. It was both pleasant and comforting, and as Ian's eyes flickered open, slender arms slid around his bare waist, hugging him tightly.

A smile wormed its way onto Ian's face.

"Good morning, beautiful," he said with a catlike growl of pleasure. He twisted around in Shiloh's arms so that he could see him, sliding his own around his boyfriend and drawing him nearer. Ian tipped his head and pressed a slow, gentle kiss to his lips before pulling back. Then he sighed, relishing the feel of Shiloh so near.

"I could most definitely get used to this," he said happily.

It was only with the wake-up kiss that Shiloh was convinced to open his eyes, certain that no dream could ever compare to the reality of Ian's lips against his, warm and wanting. He opened his eyes and, met with Ian's smiling face, he smiled too. He agreed with Ian's sentiment entirely, as they snuggles together.

He could definitely get used to this. He was going to, he thought happily, now that Ian was moving in, though he had to wonder if it was too much of a good thing. He was all for good morning kisses to wake him up, but the fact was that it wasn't morning but instead probably somewhere around mid-afternoon and not only was Ian's room still a mess, they hadn't even started in the whole moving process. He laughed a little to himself, as he took a look around the room and then, extracting himself a bit from Ian's arms, he leaned over him, pressing a kiss to his forehead.

"If we get used to this, we're going to get written up for never leaving my room." He paused for a second, thinking, then corrected himself with a grin. "Our room."

It was tempting to spend the rest of the day in Ian's bed, wrapped up in his sheets and his arms but love had done nothing to wane Shiloh's sense of duty and after kissing Ian one more time, he sighed and rolled himself off the bed, searching the nearby floor for his clothes.

Ian would have been entirely content to spend the rest of the day cuddled up against Shiloh, but there were things to be done and places to go and rooms to move out of it and rooms to move into and Ian knew that nothing would ever get done if he continued to lounge around in bed for the better part of the evening.

Ian let out a little groan, a soft whine of reluctance as he felt Shiloh pull away. He flopped face down on the bed, his face in the pillows, and then slanted a look towards his boyfriend, a little smile playing on the corners of his lips. He let out a teasing wolf whistle before finally sitting up, sliding to the edge of the bed, and wrapping his arms around Shiloh's bare waist.

"Look at what a hottie my boyfriend isssss," he crooned, and grinned, kissing the back of Shiloh's neck affectionately before he got up, stretching his arms above his head. Ian plucked his jeans up from the floor and pulled them on, shuffling towards the closet to find a better shirt than the one he could no longer find (it had been tossed around, probably kicked under the bed, and he was too lazy to look for it).

"So," said Ian, yanking a plain black teeshirt over his head and putting his hands on his hips. "How does one...move, exactly. Do I just grab my crap and bring it to your place, or...what..."

He gave Shiloh an expectant look clearly expecting him to have all the answers.

Shiloh had expected the groan, anticipated it even. He knew how Ian was and furthermore, he knew how comfy his bed was, and how comfy lying together was, and it was only with extreme restraint that he’d held back a groan of his own upon getting up from the bed.

The whistle, however, while it should have been totally expected, caught him completely off-guard, turning him red all the way from the tips of ears to the bottoms of his cheeks. He hadn’t had a chance to even pull on any sort of clothing before Ian’s arms were around his waist, and he shook his head a little, smiling at his goofball of a boyfriend.

“Well, that’s a step up from cute at least,” he teased, giving Ian’s rear a swat as he slid past him. He’d learned his tricks from the best, after all.

Then, before they found some excuse for his clothes to stay on the ground, Shiloh quickly pulled on his cleaning attire, which was still incredibly clean, considering how little cleaning they’d actually gotten done earlier. He had to hunt a bit for his socks; one had hidden itself under the bed while the other was tangled in the sheets. He sat on the edge of the bed to pull them on, meeting Ian’s expectant look with one that asked, ‘What?’

Luckily, Shiloh did have an answer, though he had no idea if it was the correct one in terms of how to go about moving rooms. But he figured it couldn’t be that hard, could it?”

“I guess, well, we can gather up what you want to take and then make trips? It’s just down the hall anyway, and it’s not like there’s anything super heavy… Unless, did you want to take the shelf? We’ll have to take the books off to move it anyway, we could just carry it down after... Otherwise, it’s just your clothes and stuff right? Your crap.”

He grinned.

Unlike Shiloh, Ian didn't attempt to twist away from the swat at his backside, merely twisted around to give Shiloh a knowing look, waggling his eyebrows. He had enjoyed immensely the bright red blush that had spread across Shiloh's face, because although Ian was very happy with Shiloh's confidence in the relationship, sometimes he just liked making him as flustered and cute as he could.

Ian tugged absently at the bracelet on his wrist before glancing around the room. He didn't have much, to be honest, which was probably a good thing - less things to carry - and he smiled, walking back around the bed to slide his arms around Shiloh's shoulders, curling them around his neck. He leaned down and pressed a lingering kiss to his lips, a smile curving his own up before Ian leaned back.

"You're so ******** wonderful," he said happily, and then slid away, moving to the closet again. "And now I've really gotta get this s**t done because otherwise I'm just going to drag you back to bed all day. I'll grab the clothes first, they're easier."

And with that he wrapped his arms around a heap of his clothing, pulling them, hanger and all from the closet. It became apparent rather quickly that he couldn't really see where he was going over the pile, Ian walking straight into a wall, and he let out a laugh, trying to regain his footing.

"Where's the door?"

He’d at least accomplished fully clothing himself before Ian’s arms found him again, curling around him in a way that, though not productive in the least, made his heart flutter happily.

“Are you planning to pack me up too then?” he asked with a smile after Ian had kissed him, his fingers trailing across Ian’s arm as he pulled away. He agreed though, that moving in separate directions was probably for the best, as any sort of close proximity only encouraged reaching for each other instead of the items they were supposed to be moving, and even Shiloh’s willpower had its limits.

“Easier, huh,” he said, deciding to tackle the books now, rather than later. “”I see, leave the heavy stuff for poor Shiloh, it’ll be fine. Well, you’re probably better off with something easier anyway, I don’t want you to strain yourself.”

The last bit coming from anyone else might have seemed snide, but Shiloh’s voice was devoid of sarcasm by that point, being completely honest in his concern for Ian’s injuries. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure that Ian hadn’t grabbed to much clothing as it was, thinking clothing could still be pretty heavy, and he managed to catch the exact moment as Ian made contact with the wall, bouncing back against the pile of clothes in his arms.

“You’re a goof,” he laughed, gathering a set of books under one arm as he stood and made his way over to Ian. “That’s way too many clothes for one trip, it’s just down the hall, we don't have to get it all in one go.”

With his free hand, he found Ian’s within the pile of fabric, and latched onto it, pulling him through the doorway.

“It’s this way, follow me, chicken.”

Ian touched the tip of his index finger to Shiloh's nose.

"You're going to be with me everywhere I go," he said affectionately. "And the same goes for me to you. I just want to be with you no matter what, so if that means packing you up, then yes, I'll just pack you up in my arms and take you with me."

He kissed Shiloh's forehead before moving to the closet, his heart hammering in his chest. It was simultaneously liberating and frightening to be saying everything he felt out loud, but somehow it was slowly becoming easier. The fear that had stemmed from those three words - I love you - had ebbed somewhat, and although Ian was still anxious, the anxiety seemed strangely lessened the more he said it.

A hand fumbled beneath the pile of clothing - Shiloh's hand, his warm fingers wrapping around his own. Ian flashed him a happy smile and said, "I can carry it, don't worry too much about me. Just lead the way and I'll follow you."

Everywhere, was the unfinished part of his sentence, Ian allowing himself to be towed down the hallway, his cheeks flushing with pleasure. I will follow you everywhere if that's what it takes to always be with you.
