A soft smile began to grow on Harlow's face as she listened to Zascha talk about his sisters. It was interesting listening to him talk about them. As he got into it he sounded almost happy. Not quiet all the way there but he was definitely fond of them. She looked down at the picture and her smile grew bigger. "Wow." She said as she leaned a little closer to get a better look at it. She was pretty happy listening to him talk. "They're beautiful." She wasn't that sure of what else to say. She tried her best to be sensitive in situations like this but she didn't want to mess up and say something stupid. They did sound adorable.
His question made her look forward It was hard to hide her uncomfortable-ness. Occasionally she didn't mind sharing but there were some times where she didn't really. She clutched her reigns a little tighter and swallowed before speaking. "Well, no." She was supposed to be the first of many children but her family never got that far. She was quiet for a few seconds. She stared forward quietly before speaking. "My mother died when I was very young." Her voice dropped a little.

"My sympathies then." It was never easy loosing a parent. Let alone two parents. Zascha could sympathize with her quite well on that front. But this wasn't a time for thinking of sad things. They were here to have fun. "Want to go cuddle some bunnies?" He pointed at the Petting Zoo sign that they were coming up to. Cute animals cheered sad girls up right? At least, if she liked animals. He was pretty sure Harlow liked animals. Who could resist a cuddly little bunny? With their beady little eyes and blood thirsty gnashing teeth.

She stared forward a little longer, she wasn't that sure what else to say about the subject. She sat up a little more and then turned to him with a small smile and a nod. "Don't worry about it." She answered simply now sure what else to say, she wasn't going to say that she didn't want his sympathies but she wasn't going to say that she didn't want them either. She simply didn't talk to anyone about it.
She snapped out of her daze when he asked her a question, she looked up and then over to him and laughed, she smirked and then looked over at him. "I'm up for that, only if after we get some food." she wasn't quite hungry yet but she was getting there and either way eating something that wasn't from the cafeteria sounded extremely exciting. She grinned as they approached the point where they were to drop off the horses. She swung her leg over as she hopped off and reached up to adjust her hat. "you lead the way?"

He could tell it was a touchy subject. The death of his sisters was one for him as well so he wouldn't push her on it. Some wounds take longer to heal than others, especially ones of the soul. As he dismounted his own horse, Zascha's stomach let out a rather loud rumble. He clasped a hand to his stomach. "Ah it seems like my stomach would agree with the whole getting food after bunnies statement." Taking the reigns of both horses he quickly took them both to the man in charge of them then made his way back. Flicking the brim of her hat with a grin. "This way." The petting zoo wasn't too far away. There were a few kids and adults about but it wasn't overly crowded. Zascha reached for the gate and opened it to let her through. "Ladies first, just watch yourself or they might nibble on you instead of the oats."

She was glad that he wasn't poking or prodding for more answers, she didn't really like to talk about that to much of anyone. Honestly she was pretty emotional, but she did her best to not be emotional in front of anyone that she knew.
She took a moment as she got off of the horse to adjust her hat and her hair before she started to walk forward by his side. She was excited to see the animals and especially to pet them. She was excited as they approached the pen and then laughed as she walked through the door that he opened for her. She laughed at his comment, "What are you trying to say?" She giggled as she walked through the gate carefully. She laughed again and moved to one of the not busy corners and then knelled down and one wandered toward her. "I think you're right about this being a good idea." she said as she looked back at him with a grin. "as long as you aren't going to die of starvation first."

"Perhaps that you look like a tasty morsel that anything would want to nibble on? Or that if you spill some oats on your clothes you might get nipped. Who knows." He shrugged with a grin before making his way over to one of the feed machines. Popping a few quarters in, he gave the crank a few turns and cupped a hand beneath the spout to catch what came out. As he came back over to her a gaggle of baby chicks came rushing over. He knelt down next to her, taking her hand and placing some of the feed into it. Keeping about half for himself before he sprinkled a bit on the ground in front of him. "I think I'll be fine. Besides if I get too hungry I've got some feed right here. Though I think the animals might get angry I'm eating their food."

His comment made her blush she looked down at the rabbits and a small smile lingered on her lips. She was hoping that he didn't see her blushing although she was sure that he did. She dug her elbow into his side playfully and then laughed. Not that sure of what else to say that was for sure.
When he came to her side she flashed him a grin and opened her palm to take what he was giving her. "Thank you!" She nodded and then leaned her hand down, giggle as the ducks tickled her hand. "Oh, well I was asking because this was going to be your opportunity to eat." She teased, as she looked back over at him, she leaned back down and scooped up one of the ducks. "Beside, he kind of looks like a big goat, doesn't he little guy? She pretended to ask the duck glancing at him as she did with a smirk then pulling it closer to pet it, it was soft. She really never held a baby duck before.

He didn't catch onto her tease for a few seconds before he turned his head quickly in her direction. "Heeeyyyyyy! Why am I a goat? Can't I be like some handsome stallion?" Zascha lifted his head and scratched at his chin with his free hand. "I don't have the scruff to be a goat." Eyes narrowed at the duck. "I would suggest you think before you answer bird. I enjoy a good roast duck every now and again." His stomach rumbled at the thought.

Harlow glanced over at Zascha and smirked, she reached her hand over and pinched gently at his chin, "Mmm, but you might be cuter with some." She shifted her weight on her legs and leaned a little closer to him.
She held the duck a little closer to her chest and then snuggled into it a little more. "Don't worry little duck, I won't let the big mean horse hurt you." She grinned at him and then placed the duck down gently. She laughed as she heard his stomach growl again and she pushed at him playfully. "Well I think we better get moving before you eat something you shouldn't." She stood up and reached her hands down to brush the straw off of her pants. "Beside I think I could use a drink." She flashed him another grin, walking toward the fence and then turned and put her hand on her hip waiting for him to catch up with her.

An eyebrow raised as she pinched his chin. It wasn't a hard pinch so there was no pain. But a slight tingle ran up his spine at the same time. He'd never really pondered growing out his facial hair, it always seemed like a lot of maintenance. Although some girls did like guys with beards and junk. But she said he might be cuter with some. Wait... cuter? He scattered the last of the feed in his hands before standing, brushing his hands off on his jean pants. "Bah, he wouldn't feel a thing. A quick dip in a boiling pot of oil and he'd be in ducky heaven. With all the puddles to swim in." Ah yes, a drink. He could certainly use a good one right about now. A nice cold beer to drive the dust out of his throat. "Me too."

Harlow huffed at his comment about boiling the duck. She leaned over one more time and pushed it's ducky butt forward with one of her hands. "I'll hold him back, go little duck." She stretched her other arm out in his direction as if she was going to be able to keep him back like that. She grinned as it waddled away and she then turned toward the exit. As she exited she grabbed a handful of hand sanitize that was on her jeans. She knew they were dusty at the bottom but she wasn't about to follow her instinct and wipe them on her pants as well.
She flashed him a smile and then pushed her way through the door. "So do I tell them my name for the table because I'm paying." She smirked and then pulled the hat down so the string was resting on her neck and shoulders and adjusted her head band. She waited for him to catch up to her side, when he did she walked close to his side. She was wanting to follow his lead at this point.

Crossing his arms over his chest, he watched her try to run blocker on the duck with a raised eyebrow. Shaking his head a couple of times before moving to use some hand sanitizer himself. Animals were cute but they were kind of dirty, that and they were going to go eat anyway. "Hey now, at least let me have some dignity as a man and not get all the dirty looks until it's time to pay the check." The hallway to where the matron stood was short, but the ceiling was high and gave it a larger appearance. Of course, the restaurant had that cowboy western look to it. Not super fancy but it was certainly a place where you sat down for an expensive meal. Placing a hand at the small of her back, he ushered her a long with him. Gesturing to the matron who stood behind a podium, dressed in western wear. "Two under Firsov." The man ran his finger quickly down the page of a book before nodding, grabbed two menus and beckoned them to follow him to their table.

Harlow laughed, and then dramatically rolled her eyes. "I guess I'll let you get away with it this time." She teased with a smirk still on her face. She was extremely blad that she was able to tease and play around with Zascha. It was always nice to have some one who could deal with her teasing them. It annoyed her when they couldn't.
She tensed for a moment when he touched the small of her back. She wasn't upset by it but she was more startled than anything else. She relaxed and let the blush past before turning to offer him a small smile. She was quiet when he talked to the woman, and as they followed she smirked and mocked quietly. "Firsov hmm," She started before chuckling quietly. "Fancy." She slowed and nodded to the woman as she motioned toward the table.
She moved quickly picking a seat on the booth, she didn't want to have to deal with the awkward, sitting across from and sitting next to issue.Yayoi Sneaking one in before bed ;D <3

Having five sisters Zascha could certainly take teasing and give it back just as good. Though of course, he really only did it with those he felt comfortable around. And only after he'd figured out what type of person they were. Some people just couldn't take a joke and that had backfired on him more than enough times. "Not really. Its a typical Russian last name. Though I suppose along with beards fancy sounding last names are things that women like too." He took the seat across from her, preferring to be able to talk with her face to face. Taking a menu he flipped it open and gave it a look over. "What did you want to drink?"

"Hmm."on She pondered at his comment on the last names and facial hair. "Now I said nothing about beards." She teased with a grin before leaning back in the booth lifting the menu up so that she could glance at it while she was talking to him. She cross her legs and then looked up at him. "The term you used was scruff." She arched a playful brow at him and then chuckled, she ran her hand down the menu and then clicked her tongue before nodding at him. "I want a long island iced tea."
She then flipped a few pages over trying to figure out what she was going to eat. "Everything on here sounds so good." she grinned, before spotting something she liked and putting her menu down in front of her looking up at him. "Good choice."
