Yeah Zachary Vex's stuff is pretty cool. He actually used to frequent the DIY Stompboxes forum that I'm a member of, and stull pops up once in a while. unfortunately, out of respect for him making a living off of them, his schematics are not available anywhere. Even so theres an unlimited number of projects to do.

Getting into the hobby isn't hard at all, I'm not part of an electronics course either. However it does take some studying to actually understand what's going on in the circuits. It's one thing to slap all of the components together correctyl and have a working circuit. Its another thing to actually understand what makes the circuit WORK. I'm just now starting to understand the basics.

I can understand that, especially the kind of stuff he builds. I mean the wah probe? That's just a crazy piece of equipment for a guitar. Pricy, too.

And this reminds me, my mom recently got a new job! Which means more cash flow for my family! Yay. I should be getting a job soon, too, but I'm trying to put that off until after my exams. So I should have a little extra cash that I can put towards experimentation with circuitry and guitar components and whatnot, I just need to read up on the how-to's.

And thanks Ash, you've always got some great advice up your sleeve for any situation. So, thanks for any advice that you've given, ever. It always helps.

Thanks for the kind words, Bamb. Always nice cool

I hope I continue to be of service to you and the rest of the Guild!

Equinox: Thanks man, I couldn't dream of going pro right now but I hope that someday either my guitar building or my pedal/amp building will take me somewhere. Speaking of which, my guitar project is on hold yet again, because I've been dumping all my money into pedal building! xd

And I'm working on retrying a small 1/4w amp build (Smoke yAmp clone).

If you get a chance, look into some of the Zvex stuff. They've got some crazy things goin' on.

I so wish i'd taken electronics as a course in school now, I really want to start making stuff.

T_____T

Don't worry about an electronics course, I did all my best stuff before i took any courses. I built a tube amp back in high school but later had to sell it (for $300 dollars!!!)

On a side note, my bass player, my father and myself are all looking at building our own guitars this spring or summer! I'm thinking about using a body style similar to the fender swinger.

Wow, very nice. Hope that all goes well for you, I'd love to make a guitar, but I lack ability. Which is kind of a shame, I'm always coming up with crazy things in my head that I'd love to do.

It's not like I have the ability to build a guitar either, but I'm sure as hell going to give it a shot when I get the cash! Senior project, here I come!

Finally got one of the circuits working and in an enclosure. Drilled out the aluminum box that i had bought for my first (failed) project many moons ago, and slapped in the Bazz Fuss. Nearly killed myself drilling though sweatdrop

Now its sounds great AND looks decent. I have to figure out how I'm going to finish it.

Now all thats left is to find a box for the TS-808, then order some parts for a couple more projects!!
