She happily hopped to his side, facing the same direction he was, and lifted her head proudly. "Ready when you are, sir. Lets go find us a family!" Nalani started marching slowly forward, obviously taking her time because she had no idea where they were supposed to be going. It helped use up some energy built up inside for a while now, but also a chance to let him take off.

Rhamiel smiled at her enthusiasm. She really seemed happy that she had some company and to tell the truth so was he. The journey would have been long and lonely otherwise. "I am rather glad you decided to come with me. Journey's such as these can be really lonely and tedious." He walked in a basic westward direction, hoping to come across any signs that his family was around. Senshi the herd 'leader' was so clumsy that he was always falling down and making huge impressions in the dirt where he'd fallen. Rhamiel shook his head both to make the memories vanish and to hide the tears in his eyes. He gravely missed his family and hoped they were all okay.

Nalani matched his pace and smiled at him. "It's a pleasure to come along. I need a change of scenery and hey I may get to meet others like you. You have no idea how many times I thought I was the only being left. I used to meet a few others back then, but when my own family disappeared I never saw anyone again since then." She remembered how many times she went out and searched for them, but never found a single clue as to where they went. "I miss my children and my adoptive mother. She found me when I was a foal...all alone in the wilderness. She took me in as her own. I never met my actual parents..."

Rhamiel listened as she explained why she had thought he was unreal. It made him terribly sad to hear that she thought she was the only one left in the world. "Well at least I can be proof that you are not truly alone Nalani." He smiled at her hoping to make her feel better with his happy outlook. "I think my family will adore you and if you'd like you are free to stay with them or travel with me back to the Khalasar." He was sure the Queen would be happy for more members and to be honest he was becoming fond of Nalani. She was just so excitable. "Oh! I should mention why I am trying to find them shouldn't I? Gosh why didn't I think of that! My herd sister Blight she is pregnant, and is proving to be a very nervous mother." He raised his eyebrows with an exasperated look at his face.

She looked at him with wide eyes, a bit shocked at his invitation. Nalani would have happily said yes to either of them, but she would have to choose between the two herds. It was going to be difficult because she was never good at making the right decisions and she did not want to make a mistake in choosing to be somewhere that she would not be happy. "Thank you. I would really love to be a part of a family again, but I will need time to think about it." Nalani was not sure if she would be well suited for either herd. She did not have any special talents that would prove usual for anyone and she sure did not want to become a burden to them. Her ears flickered at his explanation for his travels. It made her chuckle as she remembered how scared she was on her first pregnancy, "I understand how she feels. Is this her first?"

Rhamiel smiled and said, "Oh do not worry too much Miss Nalani. I would not pressure you into joining my family or the Khalasar. It is entirely your choice and you are free to make it in your own time. Besides its rude to push a lady to choose something she is unsure of." He nudged her in the shoulder slightly to turn her in a new direction. "West is this way now, we are starting to go a little southwest at the direction we are traveling." He thought for a moment how to explain Blight's situation. "Well the best way to explain Blight's predicament is she is pregnant and without a mate. It was a casual encounter with a half kalona and now she fears she will never find someone to love as she had children out of lifemate. She didn't really think anything would come of their union..." He remembered the parrots distressing message and tried to come as quick as he could.

She smiled warmly at him, mentally thanking him for being such a gentleman with her. His sudden nudge kind of caught her off guard, causing her to lose her step. Nalani did not topple over only merely bounced like a kitten trying to stay on her feet and she giggled softly to herself, hoping her clumsiness and awkward movement did not unsettle him. The story he told brought her attention back to him, but she remained quiet. She was a bit unsure on how to respond since there was no one she knew who had ever been in that type of situation. "Is the herd unable to help care for her foals? This must be very difficult, but she shouldn't be left alone to deal with it. I'm sure she will be able to find someone who will love her no matter what she has done. It was just a simple mistake that anyone can make."

"Oh my! I am so sorry Miss Nalani. I didn't mean to set you off balance!" He had an ashamed look on his face. He should have just stated that they needed to change direction. Blinking a few times rapidly he tried to change the subject, "Its not so much the herd that can't take care of her and the foals, its that she won't let them. She wants to do this herself you see. Blight has always been very headstrong and set in her ways, and her familiar, that awful little ferret hasn't been helping. He keeps saying the children will be terrors... Or so the parrot told me..."

Nalani shook her head at him and grinned. "It's not your fault, Rhamiel. I just have been a bit clumsy lately. It's like I've forgotten how to properly walk. So do not worry about a silly old mare like me." She faced forward and changed the way she was walking, steadying each of her steps so that she could avoid messing up again. Nalani kept an ear facing him, listening to everything he had to say about the other mare's issue. "It might be best to just keep an eye on the foals from a distance. That way the mother won't be troubled as much, but if something were to happen at least someone could rush in to help. As for the ferret you speak of...I'd give him a n** or two. I would never allow anyone to speak that way about my children. That's just rude and inappropriate."

Rhamiel stopped his steady gait forward and stared at her with a stunned look on his face. "Silly old mare?" He didn't like how that sounded at all, "No, no, I think not Miss Nalani. You are young and vibrant and beautiful, and with my upbringing I always worry about Mares no matter who they are." He smiled in a way that he hoped brought her the happiness that he felt when speaking with her. She was such wonderful company and he was glad he'd met her. "Ah well we had discussed that through my herd brother Senshi's parrot being the messenger. The main thing she is worried about is that the father might steal her children from her. She seems almost afraid of him now that she knows she's carrying his children." He couldn't help the laugh that spilled from his lips after hearing how she would handle Ghost and his asinine attitude about Blight's babies. "Oh my. I think you are right. Ghost could use a n** or two. Maybe you'll be the one to give them to him!"

She tilted her head and made a face at his lovely comment about her, although she was squealing with glee on the inside. However, the explanation he gave about the foals and their father filled her with concern and she looked up at him with sadness in her eyes. Would a stallion really go through with something like that? Nalani could not even begin to imagine the kind of pain and despair a mare would feel if her foals were taken from her at such a young age. "That would be terribly cruel of him. To separate a mother from her offspring would be like tearing out her heart. Why would anyone even think about doing it?" The mare closed her eyes and shook her head. "I pray that the members of your herd know better than to let something like that happen. At least I truly hope someone will step up and defend them if it comes to that."

Rhamiel almost sighed at her comment of the herd defending Blight and the foals. As much as they wanted to help her, not a single one of them could fend off a determined Kalona, even if he wasn't a full bred. He was about to explain when a gold and silver parrot fluttered down and landed on his neck, using his mane as a grip. The parrot eyed the mare haughtily as he did all new comers, and whispered a few things in Rhamiels' ear, then it took flight in the same direction they were traveling. So they were close after all. That was his herd brother's familiar. "Well it seems the children have been born Miss Nalani. That parrot was Aurum, my herd-brother's familiar. He was coming to tell me what had happened." Rhamiel picked up his pace, hoping they would get there before nightfall.
