Eye entered the new room and looked around the strange effects from the last room gone. She sighed with relief and she walked over to the frame and looked it over closely. She went over to the frame to take a look for herself. She slowly reached out to touch it, and hoped that it wouldn't bite her. Like so many other things in this tower had.

Walking through the door seemed to lift everything off of Camille Ryland, obviously a Sun Trainee. She was inside the fifth, secret room back in her twenty-two year old mind and twenty-two year old body. She looked destroyed, utterly wrecked, and like she wanted to cry. Had been crying. She didn't even bother to go far just picked a portion of the wall where she was out of everyone's way and sank down to the ground, staring dead-eyed out in front of her.

Lex entered the final room with a sigh of relief, no longer paranoid and back to being twenty-six. He looked around, noting a few Hunters he didn't really know, and a bunch of Halloweeners... including that Reaper he'd sent packing earlier.

Hopefully he wasn't a vengeful one.

The first thing Maebe noticed when she entered the room was not the group of people trying to see some secret message in a frame, but the fact that Cami looked like she'd been hit by a wrecking ball. She beelined over to kneel in front of the woman, discerning with a quick visual once-over to see if she was injured.

No, clearly the only thing that had injured a woman as full hearted as Cami, was a place like this. Maebe walked out relatively unscathed (according to her) and Cami was in tears. It was telling proof of which one of them had the real heart, and which had nothing left to cry for.

"Hey." She whispered, holding both of her hands out. "I'm here, beautiful. Miss me?"

A wrecking ball would have been kind compared to what Cami had been hit with. A ball just bowled you over, crushed you a little bit, but this was a knife in her stomach. Red-hot, serrated, with edges that she didn't have all the names for but knew them intricately despite that fact. It took time to register that there was someone in front of Cami, talking to her, and it was someone she really ought to care about.

"Maebe?" No 'Maebe baby' none of that inherent flirtation in her voice. Nothing but raw uncertainty as if she wasn't sure that the woman in front of her was real. As if she wasn't sure of her welcome. Leaning forward, as if she desperately wanted to fall into that welcome, into the softness and warmth, Cami couldn't quite close the distance. She looked so lost. So confused.

"Of course. I was alone..in the dark. I don't like..." She trailed off, biting her lip.

Maebe caught every subtle difference in the way Cami said her name, the way she acted, the way she hesitated. She responded by lurching forward, pulling Cami into the embrace firmly. "Well you're not in the dark now. Neither of us are. We've got light here, and other people, who really don't matter, because they're not us." And they were busy, anyway.

"Forget everything you heard, everything you saw. This entire place is just one big bad joke, trying to hurt you. Nothing about it is real, except us. I promise." Her hands wandered, even though this wasn't the time or the place, but they were right there - she just lightly brushed the back of her hands up, continuing to rest against Cami's neck.

"Look here, Cami." She took the woman's chin in her hand, and pulled it up, bending in to brush her lips against hers. "Feel that? That's you, not being alone anymore. Now, let me see that smile."

After four corridors of challenges of varying degrees, Hanna burst into the last unknown challenge -- the Corridor of Secrets. She had not know it existed and so, when she realized there was a fifth place to go, the girl felt oddly special. Recognition and knowledge mattered deeply to the Death Hunter -- and here she was among a small group of others who, like her, had toiled through more rooms than the average Hunter.

She was special, and this made her feel complete.

A long hallway waited for her. Hanna crossed down it, moving efficiently. Others were there, but she, at first, paid them no mind, instead crossing to the picture frame. It was a riddle, a puzzle? Hanna loved puzzles. Her eyes never left the frame, but her words traveled to Cami: "I'm sorry." After all, one corridor ago, she had slapped the s**t out of this girl who was her friend. There was a blonde girl, but Hanna did not know her.

Awkward.

Nothing could have surprised Cami more than having been dragged into a hug by Maebe of all people. Demonstrative affection of this kind, the reassuring and caring kind, hadn't that been everything she said she was against? But it was so good. So good to have a voice she trusted, a voice that was reasonable and soft against her ear, telling her that everything was okay. She wasn't in the dark, she was in the light, she wasn't alone. She wasn't going to be alone.

A shaky laugh when hands drifted along her curves and stole a squeeze, the most oddly reassuring part of all of it, sealed the deal. Throwing herself hard in against the smaller blonde Cami squeezed the Moon Hunter tightly. "You're right. You're absolutely right. But you're always right, aren't you Maebe baby?" The smile was there and while the redhead's eyes didn't sparkle, they didn't shine, there was life in them again. She was smiling.

It was only the shift of her eyes that betrayed her. "We're friends, right? I'm not...not pressing in on you right?" It was important.

It didn't take long. Cami was smiling within seconds, and she threw herself against Maebe, causing the girl to reel back, almost collapsing from the impact. She held on tight, trying not to feel awkward about just how sweet the moment was, she hooked onto the important part of Cami's realization with a sagelike nod.

"I am." She agreed, very seriously. "Remember that."

But Cami wasn't done sharing, and Maebe wasn't quite ready for the question she posed. The answer bubbled up in her throat, catching before she could express it. No, she knew she'd say. No, we're not friends. I don't make friends. I don't care about anyone. I don't love. I don't even like.

"Of course we are." The first word was strangled as she forced the instinct to hurt her, down. "I'd like to think we're more than that, by now, but certainly friends. If you're pressing in on me, it's the kind of pressing I like. I want you pressing in on me for hours, preferably in a private location, and not in front of - people."

Said 'people' had come up to Cami and apologized at that exact moment. It was a well timed point.

Quietly, because she did see Hanna and had heard her apology, Cami leaned in as if they were sharing a secret which, of course, they absolutely were. "Well yeah we very much are but somehow I think being your friend is a much harder thing to be than your squeeze. Which you're welcome to do as often as you'd like when we lean in again." Sitting back but making sure that she kept a light hold on Maebe's hand, cornflower eyes finally looked up at Hanna.

"No longer goin' on about the opiate of the masses then?" Alright it was rude and a little mean to tease her friend about the fact that she'd gone out of her mind with the Ancients' pools but Hanna had bitchslapped the hell out of Cami. She had to get a little bit back in return! "Apology accepted. None of us were in our right minds." She still hadn't looked down the corridor at what everyone else was doing because, frankly, she didn't care.

Leaning over she wasn't happy until some of her weight rested against Maebe. "I'm happy you're here." It was spoken coincidentally but she did mean that she was pleased both of her friends were there. All they needed now were the boys and it would have been perfect. A hug from Otto, long and tight, lingering the way that his always did? It would have been heaven.

Chel was very late to the party don't judge her.

What she saw was a lot of hunters gathered and Shun, Edel, and some kid she didn't know looking pretty vulnerable.

She didn't point her weapon at the hunters or anything, but she did casually step between the two parties. She thought about putting her arm around Shun to associate friendliness, but then she remembered how tense he had been in the desert and decided not to. "Uh. Hey guys. These dudes are cool. Promise."

Chel looked to Shun like "please be cool please please," but no words were shared as she feared that might sent the hunters the wrong message. "I'll uh. Vouch for them. Or something. Please don't kill them?"

There was one more horsemen in the room that she didn't know though. "I got no idea about her though."

More hunters were showing up, which was making Shun more ill at ease. He kept a narrowed gaze leveled on them all and a good grip on his daggers. Chel showing up and trying to ease the tension didn't really help all that much, unfortunately.

"There are bigger issues at hand, unless you decide to make yourselves the immediate threat," he simply warned. He'd 'play nice' for now, but if violence broke out, he wasn't about to hold back if he could help it.

Eye felt that someone was looking at her and she said simply "I have no intent to start a fight, besides I was attacked without cause earlier. I found it quiet rude, so I do not intend to do the same to others" She said coldly. Ionne pushed another piece of her pale blonde hair back, as she once again looked at the frame, wondering where all of this would end. Then she said down again a wall and sighed. At this point Eye was pretty sure that Charon was right, none was them should have entered this tower so recklessly. At first she had thought perhaps the priestess was doing this for the greater good of their people, but with all the pain and suffering the tower caused anyone going through it how could that be so?

It was a bit lucky that Chel was very obviously a hunter or there might have been a bit of a reaction to the fact that Cami was being asked not to kill someone. Blinking a few times, finally looking down the rest of the room, she snorted. Today was not the best day and the sweet, kind, snuggly Cami was somewhere back on Deus. "I highly doubt anyone from Halloween can be actually cool but I really don't care to smack and be smacked right now. I'm sitting down over here for a reason." Which was mildly untrue but again, give a damn.

All gone. So gone.

Cami couldn't have been more right. It was much harder to be Maebe's friend, than her lover. In fact, the spectrum of impossibility was off the charts, for the former. The latter simply required an open mind. Or it did, she supposed. Things were a little more complicated, now, she realized. The spectrum shifted.

Her expression tightened with worry.

Cami accepted Hanna's apology for a crime Maebe was unaware of, but she simply let the two talk while she spent her moments brooding over how complicated her life had become. When Cami returned to her, pulling her attention back with those soft words and warm intentions, Maebe melted against her and sighed.

She was happy that she was there, too. And that was the problem.

Chel was begging them not to fight with the other people in the room, and Maebe blinked lethargically, trying to figure out if the girl was having a hallucination that involved them looking angry. As it were, Maebe couldn't even move. She was rooted to the woman in her arms, the only real danger in the room for her.

"I won't bite if they don't." She promised Chel, if only to make her feel better.
