Vaguely she wondered if there wasn't a dial somewhere on Taym that was turned wrong. His tone for everything seemed just a little off. Talking about Caelius as if it were going to simply be inclement weather and then liking her as if she'd somehow taken a baseball bat to his front windows. Grumpy hunters were becoming something of a subset of skill for Cami but even this was a level that she couldn't quite figure out how to deal with. So instead she just smiled gamely, accepting the compliments in fact if not in delivery, hands tucked into her pockets.

"I keep hearing that, seems sorta hard to believe between Twitter bouts. Not that I'm saying you're wrong." She added thoughtfully. "I just continue to be surprised when the compliment comes up." Kicking at the sand, being entirely unproductive, Cami looked at the hole she'd been digging with her foot. "Doesn't have to be part of your division for you to sorta take it on on the side, right? Plus if you're in Moon, that's protection, right? You'll be standing between the kids and the worst of the stuff. On and off the battlefield." Her smile was more brilliant now, confident and sure of the plan that was forming in her mind.

"It'll work out. We can work it out." When his mission had been adopted by her was all of about ten seconds before the statement but it was a good cause. She'd figure something out and if Taym didn't want her help, well, that was too damn bad.

Scrubbing her forearm across her forehead she had to nod. "Hard to do much by way of instruction out here in the middle of the blasted ******** desert. Why did it have to be the desert? I'm tropical." It was a half-whine, really, exhaustion and heat combining to melt her brain. Nothing was in sight that needed fixing and so they trudged on.

Since Cami had decided Taym's tone dial was turned every which way she was able to more easily ignore his condescension. "Well obviously but I don't have to like it. I never wanted to be arid. I like being tropical." As if it wasn't obvious from the way she moved, the way she talked, the way she...was everything.

Pausing over a dagger that had dimmed out she marked the note down and handed it over to Taym. "Congratulations, you're capable and we're finished."
