Alyssa nodded. "Did you have a herd growing up? Or were you just with your family? If that's too personal you don't need to answer it. I'm just curious." She bit her lip and kept moving her tail to fan him. She wondered what his like had been like as a colt. Had he had a happy life growing up or was there sadness and hardships? Better to not ask him it might be too prying and she would not pry.
She saw he was grateful for what she said. Yep she had been right to not pry into his past or anything like that. She stared as she watched his green gain a pink undertone. How pretty that looked. Though why was there a pink undertone? Was it a blush? He was blushing? Her purple eyes widened in shock as he spoke. He couldn't tear his gaze away form her? Was it for a good reason? Her cheeks turned bright red as she heard his next words. "You think I'm the most beautiful mare you've ever seen? Really?" She giggled and shook her head. I'm real Gamma I'm no illusion or a trick of your mind." She stared into his pink eyes as she blushed more.
((Oh wow he is going to make her blush so much she turns red or pink permanently. XD))

"A mother and brother that I don't care to think about," Gamma replied simply, wanting to answer her question since she'd answered his. But he probably would leave it at that. He was in a moment of surprising clarity, and he didn't want to be clouded by his guilt and regret again just yet.
Alyssa's eyes went wide, and for a moment Gamma was worried that he'd scared her off. Then the blush appeared and she spoke. Once again mesmerized by the beautiful mare, he nodded to her question. His blush deepened slightly at her teasing, but a rare smile formed on his face all the same at her confirmation that she was real. His pink eyes gazed back into those beautiful amethysts, the stubborn weight of his sins all but melting away. "I'm glad," he said softly. How bitter his thoughts would have been if Alyssa, who seemed to be the mare of his dreams, was truly the mare of his dreams and vanished without a trace once he left the shade of the tree.
(( D'awww. Adorable. And this is definitely going better than I thought it would. ))

Alyssa smiled at him and tilted her head. "Alright no more asking about that then. I'll remember that. We'll talk about other things." She was really curious about his family but if he didn't want to think about them then no more questions about them. He had to have his reasons to say that and they were his reasons. She would ask him about other things to mollify her curiosity. But was it that his family wasn't nice?
She grinned at him when she saw his worry to show that there was nothing for him to worry about. She blushed even more when he nodded and she had no idea how to react to that. No one had ever said that to her. Sure some had called her sunny or bright but no one had ever called her beautiful or even the most beautiful mare they had ever seen. She wondered if he had seen that many mares but didn't want to ask that would just be rude. She beamed at him when she saw him smile. "Wow." He was stunning when he smiled. Her purple eyes looked into his bright pink eyes. She blushed even more her cheeks must be bright red by now with how much he was making her blush. "Me too." She spoke just as softly as he did.
((Glad it's going better than you thought. He is so cute I want to snuggle him. XD Alyssa wants to keep him. And that would be sad for him to be bitter. I'm glad she is real. ))

This mare was an angel. She was like gentle sunshine: warm, but not overbearing. She was kind, but unobtrusive. And she made Gamma immensely curious. Maybe... maybe he wouldn't mind opening up to her. To let someone see his putrid past... But not right now. Right now, he was content just to stare up into those beautiful eyes that were looking back into his. Her blush showed embarrassment that mirrored his own, but he found himself just thinking more affectionate thoughts toward the mare.
"Wow?" he parroted, curious as to what Alyssa was amazed by. Her words of agreement to his comment made him feel as if he was floating. He'd never before felt such genuine... happiness. His mind fantasized of not returning to his sister's crowded home, instead just staying under the shade of this tree and talking to Alyssa. He would be content if this moment never ended. It was such a peculiar feeling for him, but he was glad for the change.
(( They're adorable. Trying to make posts with Gamma's love-melted brain is a little hard, though. xD Yes, Alyssa, keep him! You are the chosen one! ))

Alyssa continued to look at him. He had such a strange look on his face as he looked at her. She got a bit self-conscious and wasn't sure what to do. Was she really that different from other mares? She didn't think she was that different. But she wasn't sure if she should ask such things. But she was very curious about him. He was so interesting and different from anyone she had ever met before. But at least he was blushing as well as she was.
She blushed even more and ducked her head. Oh crap he had heard her say that. She hadn't meant to say that out loud. "U-um w-well.... I just. You just. Uh.... Well you look stunning when you smile. That's the wow." She got the last part out in a rush. Hiding her face and blushing more not wanting to see his expression when she said that. She was really nervous why had she said that? she looked at his hesitantly and smiled again.
((Yeah they are really adorable. lol sorry it is hard. Did she break Gamma? Yay she is the chosen one who got past all of that gloom. she will happily keep him.))

Gamma couldn't help be a little amused when the mare blushed further and ducked her head. She hadn't meant for him to hear that 'wow', had she? But all his amusement slid off of his face at her answer. His eyes widened slightly and his mouth dropped open. "Me?" he repeated quietly, the thought blowing him away. Him? She was wowing at him? She thought he was stunning?
No one had ever given him praise like that. Sure, the occasional giggling mare would give a shallow compliment, but nothing strongly worded. Stunning was definitely not a word used to describe him before. He wasn't sure how to react. He lowered his gaze to the grass for a moment, as if trying to find his answer there. Almost timidly, he lifted his gaze back to Alyssa's and hesitantly asked, "Really?" His pink eyes were big now, like those of a foal who had been promised carrots for dinner. "I'm... stunning?" With how genuine she'd been with him so far, he was inclined to believe she meant it. But it was also possible that he'd misheard and she'd said something else. If she had, he wanted to know early so that he didn't embarrass himself.
(( I'd say Gamma's more mind-melted than broken. xD And I'm glad Alyssa will keep him, because I don't want to imagine what would happen if she rejected him. ))

Alyssa looked at him from under veiled lashes as she tried to figure out what he was thinking. She wished she could read his mind. That would make all of this so much easier. She bit her lip as she saw his reaction to her words. Maybe Gamma wasn't ok with her wow being about him. She nodded her head. "Yeah you. Wow you." She bit her lip more even more worried and nervous. She couldn't help that she thought he was stunning. He took her breast away when she stared at him. And she looked up unable to keep her eyes off of him. But he'd probably be gone as soon as he was well enough and had had enough rest. That was be really sad.
She saw him look at the grass and was even more worried again. Had she said something wrong? Was he trying to figure out how to tell her to get lost? Alyssa couldn't help but giggle when she looked into those huge pink eyes. That was far too cute. "Yes Gamma. I think you are very stunning. Most stunning stallion I have ever seen. Sorry if you think I shouldn't have said that. But I think you are extremely stunning." She shifted her weight from foot to foot more.
(Poor guy. She melted his mind and wasn't even trying to. xD yeah I don't want to see what would happen if either of them rejected the other one. That sounds really scary. Sorry this reply took so long.))

Gamma could only stare at her in utter awe, speechless. Every word was a ray of light that drove away the shadows around his heart, one by one. Usually compliments were ignored or otherwise brushed off, but he couldn't ignore hers. Even if he could, he wouldn't have wanted to. He didn't mind that she was giggling at him; hearing her laugh was worth being the fool.
She couldn't possibly be real. This was a dream caused by him passing out in the heat, wasn't it? He had to be sure. It was too wonderful to be true, but he desperately wanted it to be. He pulled himself to his feet without a second thought, stepping forward and gently touching his nose to Alyssa's. "You are real," he breathed, relief written all over his face.
Then, blinking, Gamma realized how close he was and stepped back, embarrassed. "S-sorry," he apologized meekly. Invasion of personal space was rude--and often annoying to the one whose space was intruded. What had gotten into him? He wasn't usually this... impulsive. That was his sister's job. But he felt so drawn to this one-in-a-million mare that it made his heart sigh in disappointment when he stepped away. Was this really happening? Was there really such a thing as love at first sight? No one had ever captivated his attention like this. Was Alyssa... the one that he had been so sure did not exist? He was too cowardly to ask. He pawed lightly at the grass and dirt at his front hooves, probably even pinker than Beta's adoptive mother. He wanted to pour out his heart and soul, but was too afraid to do so.
(( Yeah, but I think his mind needed a little melting. xD And yeah, I have a feeling that rejection from either party would result in mass heartbreak and possibly extreme losses in sanity. ))

Alyssa saw him staring at her in shock and she wondered what she was saying that was so shocking. All she was doing was telling the truth. He had to have heard this before and many other things from other mares. No way others hadn't seen how amazing he looked and commented on it. "Why so shocked Gamma? I'm sure your girlfriend or mate has said far more than this to you. And you must have heard much nicer things from other mares before. There is no way I'm the first to say something like this. Not with how you look." She just couldn't believe he hadn't heard stuff like this before. So maybe he was shocked at her audacity for saying it to him. That had to be it. He was shocked she would say something like that for that reason. Had to be.
She watched him get up and tried so hard to push the pout away but she failed and knew she was pouting. But he was getting up that meant he was going to be leaving. There was no other explanation for why he was standing up. But then he moved towards her. She was really shocked by that but smiled as he touched his nose to hers and then she giggled some more at what he said. She couldn't help it. He had said something like that before about her not being real. "Yeah I'm real. You already asked if I was real once before. Yes I'm very real. I'm not a dream or anything like that." She grinned and looked at him.
She pouted when he stepped back from her and looked at him. She shook her head. "You have nothing to be sorry for. You really don't need to apologize for anything. Why are you sorry?" She walked over to him and wanted to step closer but she was so worried that he was going to push her away. She touched her hoof against his tentatively and hoped that he would let her get closer. Alyssa just wasn't sure what he would do but she really wanted to get closer but she was so scared.
((Yeah and I don't want to see either of them heartbroken that sounds like it would be scary.))

"I don't have a girlfriend or a mate," Gamma replied, shuffling awkwardly. "And you are the first one to say something like this to me." Any other compliments had been given lightly or jokingly, not an ounce of sincerity in them.
His ears had flicked back when he saw her pouting, but perked back up at her smile and giggling. Blushing profusely, he mumbled, "I was just making sure." There was a difference in being told something and confirming it for oneself.
The stallion blinked and lifted his gaze when Alyssa questioned his reason for apologizing. She wasn't... upset? She seemed worried as she drew nearer. His eyes went to the hoof touching his, then timidly inched closer to the mare again. He was sorry for a lot of things. For being a coward. For being so guarded around someone so open toward him. For not... being able to express himself. He gently touched her nose with his again, trying not to fidget. "I'm... not sure what to do," he finally admitted. "Or what to say... and that scares me." He lifted his gaze to meet Alyssa's once more, afraid of what he may find there. "I... don't want to make you leave." He didn't want to say or do something that would make this angelic mare leave.

Alyssa stared at him in shock. This guy didn't have a mate or a girlfriend? How was that even possible? There had to be something wrong with the girls he had known. Or maybe he preferred guys? Maybe that was it. "How do you not have a girlfriend or a mate? I can't believe you don't have one." she watched him shuffle awkwardly and it was really cute. He was really cute. She blushed at what he said. "Oh. Really? I'm seriously the first person to say something like that to you? What kind of people were you around?… Oh oops sorry that was rude you don't need to answer that if you don't want to." She flushed and sucked her head unsure of what to do about what she had said. She just didn't know what to do or say after what she had said. It seemed so rude she really needed to think before she spoke. But he made it so hard to think.
She watched his ears flick back when she pouted and wondered why he did that. She giggled more and smiled even brighter when he said that. "I promise you Gamma that I am as real as you are. So there is no need to worry and it's sweet that you want to check." She watched him as she waited to see what else he would do but he was making her so happy and he was being so sweet.
Her amethyst eyes looked into his gorgeous pink ones. He had the most beautiful pink eyes she had ever seen. She was really scared he would pull away when he looked down at her hoof touching his hoof. She didn't want to have him pull away from her. She relaxed as he moved closer to her and she smiled even more. Her grin got even wider as he touched his nose to her nose again. She nuzzled his cheek very tentatively worried he would pull away. Or push her away. But he didn't seem like he would do that. She wished to he closer but he seemed so nervous so no need to push it too much. She frowned as she listened to him. "Well Gamma what do you want to do? And what don't you know? Just listen to what your heart says to do. That's usually right." She smiled more at him as he looked up. "Please don't be scare. How can I help you not be afraid?" Alyssa stared at him in shock as she heard the next thing he said. "Why would I leave? Why are you afraid of that? I… I don't want to leave." She whispered the last part.

"I just... don't have one." Gamma had never been very interested in others. He shuffled again when she asked who he'd been around. "No one pleasant," he mumbled. It had been his brother and his mother and him--and whatever sorry soul was coerced into coming with them for a period of time. There had been others after he left, but none that he truly befriended until he met Kadenza and reunited with Beta. Even they hadn't called him stunning.
Her reassurance was comforting. He was really glad she was real.
Gamma could feel himself blushing again as he tried to answer even a few of her questions. "I want... to stay with you." He felt childish saying it, but that's what it came down to. He wanted her to stay. "Just... stay with me? Please?" He could feel a bubble of panic trying to rise up. He was afraid of being alone, of being rejected. He wanted to be accepted, to remain with this magnificent mare that had so suddenly entered his life. Alyssa's whispered words simply sent a tremble down his spine. It was an irrational fear, but he was always afraid when people left. With the exception of Beta and her adoptive family, he'd never seen an Azrein after they'd parted ways... His mother and brother included.

Alyssa smiled at him as he said that. "Ok. Well I'm glad you don't even if I don't know how you don't." She smiled sweetly at him as she said that. She frowned when he spoke and tilted her head. "I'm sorry you've been around not pleasant people and I'm sorry I asked. It was insensitive of me." he didn't look like he wanted to talk about it or anything else like that. She wouldn't do anything or ask him about it again. She watched him and he looked so sad about it. She wished there was something she could do to help him out since his past seemed so bad. But no reason to dwell on the past especially if it was a bad past.
She giggled as she saw how glad he looked when she reassured him that she was real. It was just way too cute to see that.
Alyssa watched Gamma blush even more. He was adorable when he blushed. It made him look even more stunning. She blushed even more when he said that. Had she heard him right? He wanted to stay with her? Really? Seriously? She hadn't miss heard him? He wanted to stay with her? Not with someone else? It was so hard to wrap her head around that idea. She nodded when he asked her that. She would stay with him no matter what. To get to see him smile more she would do much more than just stay with him. She saw his panic and snuggled closer to try and relieve his panic. There was no need for him to panic. "Yes. I will stay with you. I want to stay with you. No need to worry about that. I don't want to go anywhere away from you." she saw him tremble and frowned. "Are you ok Gamma?"

Alyssa was glad he didn't have a mate or girlfriend? Did she... like him like he did her? It was a hopeful thought. And her words were so gentle and soothing that he wasn't even upset that she'd caused unpleasant things to be brought up; they evaporated as soon as she spoke again.
Gamma's pathetic, childish request was met with a nod, and his panic was met with snuggling. His fear and panic lessened considerably, as if the mare's gestures had lifted a burden from his back. He leaned lightly against her. "Thank you," he replied meekly, thanking every deity he could think of that he had met this angel of an Azrein. He nodded to her question and nuzzled her lightly. "I'm... really happy..." He grinned sheepishly as twin tears rolled down his cheeks. "But it's a little embarrassing... I can't remember how to express it." He felt as if his body was trying to perform a maintenance check and make sure everything worked. The stallion's frame began quivering slightly, but Gamma didn't really feel any panic over it.
Deciding that he couldn't embarrass himself enough than he already had, he asked, "Alyssa... do you... believe in love at first sight?" Despite his conclusion, he still couldn't stop himself from shuffling a bit in nervousness. He hoped that he wouldn't regret this question later.

Alyssa blushed more as she realized what she had just said. She really needed to think more before she opened her mouth. She had just said that she was gla that he didn't have a mate how rude was that? What did he think of her now? But she couldn't help it. She was glad that he was single and there was nothing she could do about that. She couldn't help but be glad about that because it meant that maybe just maybe she could have a chance with him. A chance to be happy with him and make him smile more. Maybe she could make him laugh. She wanted to hear his laugh so badly. What did it spun like? Alyssa looked at him. Well at least he didn't look upset. That was good.
She stayed snuggled closer to him. She wanted to be pressed all against his side but wasn't sure if he would welcome the touch or shy away from it. She didn't want him to shy away from her touch that would make her sad. She relaxed as he leaned against her. That felt wonderful and she leane against him just a tiny bit more. "You're welcome but I don't know what I did to deserve thanks." She spoke softly. She let out a happy sigh as he nuzzles against her. That felt so good. She frowned when she saw the tear. She nuzzles his cheeks to wipe them away. "But if you're happy then why are you crying? What's wrong? Did I do something to make you upset?" She stared at him for a few moments. How did someone not know how to express that they were happy? She snuggles close. "Express it how reverse you think you should. You don't need to know just do what feels right." Probably a bad idea to ask him how he didn't know how to express it. She pressed against his side as he trembled. "What's wrong? Are you ok? Mauve we should sit down." Although she thought he should sit down.
As he asked the question she tilted her head. Not sure what to say. She thought about that for a moment. What should she say she hadn't believed in that before but seeing him she wasn't sure what to say. She felt something for him and maybe it was love. She had never felt that before in her life. "Before I met you no I didn't. Now I think I do. And how about you Gamma do you believe in it?" She bit her lip and shifted from foot to foot very nervous.
