Just...stop thinking? Sometimes he'd -love- to, but for some reason he simply couldn't. Or, at least, it was very hard for him to shut off internal processing and just go the eff to sleep.
That purr though..it was calming, and nice, and the more he heard it the more he settled down. Proto slid over a bit, looking to curl against Bass' side rather than lay on top of him. Sorry Bass, but the fluff of your bed was just a tad bit more comfortable than your hide. He kept his head on Bass as much as possible though, to better hear the purr emanating from his body.
Despite earlier fears and protests, it wasn't much longer after that before Proto slipped back into recharge. And this time the terrors of his past didn't plague his sleep. Tomorrow? ...Yeah, he'd stay in with Bass. That actually sounded rather nice.

Good. Bass let Proto slide to the bed and he just adjusted himself until he was in the prime spot and just purred as he curled closer to the smaller one.
Before he knew it, they'd both slipped to recharge and he was extremely comfortable, even if his purr did die off in favor of batteries. At least they didn't snore.
