Solo
Aybliss learns Pursuit

The male rolled his shoulders as he finished his physical training with the punching bag and dummy. He had felt...compressed. Things were murky right now, something dark was creeping up his spine and he felt as if no one should be near him right now. His trainer had gone quiet, he heard from the others in her team...she had gotten sick. Aybliss felt as if his very light was being drained. If she didn’t make it.

He might not stay the same.

He could feel it. Something was clawing his spine. It was corroding his core. The male rolled his neck then as he took off his glasses. Setting them to the side he opened his eyes. Their glow a tad eerie, he had the glasses to reduce his eyesight. Peering into the darkened woods the youth shed his shirt, keeping to his baggy jeans. Kicking off his boots he cracked his knuckles. Time for a good run. He bounced in place for a few heartbeats then took off in a dead sprint. He knew his way back home. He’d done this type of run plenty of times at night for the past month or so…

As he ran he felt that thing clawing at his core fade. The running helped him clear his head, leaping over a fallen tree he felt something wrap around his leg tripping him. Recovering in mid air he pulled off a good cartwheel. Landing to roll into a crouch he whirled on the shadows. Something was there and it wasn’t about to get the upperhand. Eyes narrowed he felt as if the thing was about to get away as the shadows shifted around him.

Aybliss growled. “No, you don’t.”

He clawed the shadows at his feet. Easily gripping them into tendrils he whipped them out attempting to grab the retreating figure. He felt them hit, just not grip. Making a displeased sound he stood, curiously looking down at his hand. Feeling that clawing sensation a bit he ignored it in favor of making his way back home. Perhaps that was a random wild Pokemon, not yet aware of the change in their little slice of home. He slowly clenched and unclenched his hand as he pondered over what that was exactly.

As he walked into the house he kept the lights low as he walked into the hidden library. He was alone in the house but that was normal for him at this point. Opening the entry to the hidden room he closed it behind him. The fireplace was crackling with life as he was in here earlier. He looked over the 17 different colors book his Trainer had collected. Each one listed off the different move list for a specific type. He pulled down the Dark Move Book, flipping it open till he found a move that sounded similar to what he felt.

Pursuit. Interesting, it was a move that dark types used against retreating foes. He smirked. Perhaps he could use this to bend it to more of a tracking type of thing...that sounded plausible. Maybe. For now he would have to try to focus more of that feeling and energy to get this move mastered.

Solo
Aybliss learns Foul Play

It had been a few months since the male encountered his little challenger in the woods. Aybliss wasn’t too pressed about it. He was having fun...though there was something in the back of his mind that made him slow in his joy. His Trainer. She was getting worse according to the letters of the member of their Team who stayed with her. The others were out looking for a way to save her, Aybliss was told he didn’t have to travel out to them. He was debating if he should tell them to move her back to the house in the woods. Where they all spent so many good and happy times. He was sitting in the large tree that he remembered watching the stars with her and the others. He looked up to the full moon.

That dark feeling crept up his spine again, he shivered despite himself. Time for another run he supposed. Leaping off the branch he took to the ground running. The male easily clearing a few trees and large rocks that littered the forest floor. He ran to clear his head, or find a way to run from his emotions. Either way he wasn’t stopping anytime soon. As he ran the youth’s instincts spiked as he slid to a stop and flipped off to the side.

He saw a shadow loom in the forest. Slowly rising to stand he froze feeling his blood run cold. It was himself...what? Wait...he held his head. His Trainer. His Light...she was already dead. She died years ago. Why was he thinking she was still here? What was going on? Was he mad?

The youth let out a harsh growl as he fell to his knees. His mind was playing tricks on him, making him reread old letters he had seen exchanged between her and her elder brother. Screwing the words till he thought that she was still there. Aybliss howled as he felt that old angoy tear at his soul. When he lost Light. When he lost his family that he had known from Day One of his life. Everything changed, nothing remained as he knew it. He was alone with his Darkness. He was sitting in the middle of the woods, alone.

His shadow moved. Aybliss heard Light’s voice sharply, “MOVE IDIOT!”

He jerked leaping up and flipping backwards. Sliding to a halt his eyes glowed as he growled low at the shadow. Its eyes were void black, it's smirk all fangs as it slashed at the ground sending a wave of shadows at him. Whether this was real or another delusion his mind created he didn’t care. He felt his own shadows swell, gathering them he caught the wave and flipped it back. He blinked as the wave crashed into the shadow and it vanished.

He slumped to the ground. Weary. He was vulnerable out here. He had to get back home. Struggling to his feet he found his way. Feeling a slender figure supporting him the whole way there. He could hear Light scolding him, just like she did when he was younger and went at a pokemon that sorely thumped his hide. As he entered the house he turned seeing the murky image of a long haired female. He waved once before he saw her vanish.

He went back to where he left the book. Flipping a few pages he saw the move he just did. Foul Play. Turning the attack back on the opponent. Fitting. He slumped in a nearby chair and curled up. Crying himself into a light sleep.

Aybliss Evolves

He had slept for two weeks. Something that he remembers doing a lot of as a baby, but to do so now. He sighed heavily as he woke in the mid-morning light. He glared at the open curtains. Groaning as he rose. He looked around sadly. He really needed to get the others back here. He hated being alone. It was too easy to get wrapped up in his own hellish mind. His nightmares. He looked around the shadows. There wasn’t a ghost around was there? It would make sense that one of those jerks would be screwing with his head. He grumbled as he went downstairs.

Foraging for food was easy. He had remembered to stock up a month ago when he felt his darkness was creeping closer. On the one hand it was good he was out here by himself. Less chance he could hurt others in his confusion. On the other, it was way too easy to let his mind slip into a dark place that was getting harder and harder to claw his way out of. He found himself walking around with less and less on. Remembering to at least wear jogging pants nowadays.

He stopped as he sipped at the water bottle. Looking to the team photo. He had to get everyone back together somehow. But...how? He would need to prove to Light’s elder brother that he could protect everyone. Taking a deep breath he glanced back to his shadow. There was a reason his darkness was growing. Was it something in himself that was changing? He heard of the others talk of their feelings when they evolved into more powerful forms. They didn’t lose themselves but for a moment as something in them spiked with power.

He wondered how he would do that now that he was...well. He looked down at himself. Changed. He walked out to the side porch, looking out over the woods. He supposed some meditation couldn’t hurt. So leaping from the railing he landed in the large tree that grew alongside the house. Sitting he leaned back. Letting himself fall into a trance. As the youth sat there letting himself get lost in his silence time slipped past him till it was moonrise. Aybliss took in a sharp breath as he looked up. His wings granted to him a kind Celebi when he first changed fluttered to life. He looked back at them. They seemed a big...bigger. He hummed before he felt himself go into a half trance.

Jumping down to land softly the youth walked into the woods. Glancing back once or twice to the house to make sure he was in view of it. As he walked he took a path that as a pokemon had scared him. He could never understand the reason why. All he knew was that he could never walk down the path. As he walked now he felt it again. Fear.

He stopped for a mere moment. He could do this, he had to. There was something at the end of this path that he needed. The youth closed his eyes slipping further into the trance his fear slipped under a murky blanket. He seemed dazed as he kept walking. Coming to an old stone table he touched it gently before stepping up and sitting crossed legged on it. He could feel it.

His Darkness was coming. The youth wasn’t scared of it now. He knew what it was. As his shadow manifested in front of him, Aybliss locked eyes with it. This was his Pain. His Agony. His Despair.

“I couldn’t save her.” he muttered. The shadow wasn’t smirking as it nodded. “I couldn’t stop the family from being torn apart.” another nod. “I couldn’t understand why I changed and why the others were so scared other humans saw me. Not till I didn’t have them any more.” his answer was yet another nod.

Aybliss held out his hand. “I can accept that. I can grow. I can get stronger.” the shadow looked unsure. “I can get the family back.” the shadow’s eyes seemed to gleam with a light. Hope.

He still had it.

He could get it all back.

As the thought entered his head he gained clarity. Light always said her elder brother feared what he didn’t understand. Aybliss’ isolation...that was the elder brother’s fear. The other being separated. That was his fear that they would change like Aybliss. The youth realized this and the shadow growled. Aybliss felt hate. NO. He shook his head. “We can’t hate. We can’t harm.” he was stern. The shadow watched him. “We can get strong. We can get them back.” he wasn’t budging on that. The shadow nodded and took his hand.

When the two hands met Ayblis felt a surge of power. Shadows whipped up and around him, cloaking him as he felt his bones restructure themselves. A howl of pain and the shadows burst out. Aybliss’ hair was more wild now, his eyes were brightly glowing. His wings were fuller. His tail...all the fluff.

The young male rolled his shoulders as he settled back to sitting. He could feel so much more. He looked to his shoulders where he now had a nice layer of fur lining his sides and puffing out into a odd mane. He lifted his hand to find it was claws. Looks like he became more Anthro with his evolution. He stood up. Feeling his legs were stronger. He easily ran back...walking inside the house he looked around. Everything was the same. He walked to the photo, lifting a hand to rest it against the image.

He knew exactly what he had to do…

He had a family to bring back together.
