When David had returned to the staircase to head downstairs from the second floor where he had shown Leo the guest room, Wendy was standing there on the top step. She narrowed her blue eyes briefly at him and then glanced to Leo and nodded to her politely. "Hello, Miss Mitchell, I wish you the best of luck. Just know the Avery family has three core values of importance: Dignity, Pride, and Family. Remember that and that no one likes a liar."

She turned and moved to walk down the steps before pausing and turning said, "I didn't feel like bothering with old Chaisty family recipes. Consider this me returning the favor I owed you, David. We're even."

David blinked, "I didn't expect..." Wendy didn't wait for him to answer as she walked down the steps heading towards the first floor to exit to the manor's grounds. He shook his head and glanced back to Leo and let out a sigh and made a short laugh, "Well, at least the tea and tea cakes won't be poisoned. Like you said, best not to keep them waiting." He led the way down the stairs and down a hallway where he opened a door to reveal a formal living room with sunlight streaming in and on one of the couches sat his grandmother and on a chair his grandfather who narrowed his eyes at the two as David led the way inside.

Robert Carlson Avery I stood, his wife following, and the head of the Avery family said calmly, "Go ahead and make yourselves comfortable. It is possible we might have much to talk about, David, Miss Mitchell." He nodded at them both. "And I'd rather keep this less formal. After all the incidents at the Yule Ball were sorted out a few days ago. Along with the discussion of David's remarkably poor OWL scores."

David raised a brow and thought to say something but let out a sigh and sat on the couch that his grandmother had not been sitting in and picked up a cup of tea. "Can we get this over with then? It's getting dull hearing criticism over OWL scores that contained far more Os than yours were. And the only failing score I got you said yourself was a nonsense class. Besides Leonette can cook. I already took responsibility for my fault in the matter." He ended taking a long sip of the cup of tea he had picked up.

Seeing Wendy at the top of the stair was a bit of a surprise, then again seeing as how the younger girl lived there it maybe it shouldn’t have been. Regardless she smiled at her and said. “Thank you, Miss Chaisty.” If Wendy could give Leonette respect then she could do the same in return, because she had nothing against the classmate of her sister. Watching her head on her way Leonette ran what Wendy said through her mind. ‘Dignity, Pride, and Family… I can follow that. Don’t I do that already? And, I don’t lie. David said so his self.’

Snapping back to where she stood Leonette liked the idea of not have to worry about being poisoned. Not that she was… well not until David said what he did. “You’re really comforting you know that?” she said sarcastically before following him down the stairs and into the living room. Her first thought was how nice it looked, not surprising considering the rest of the house. Letting her eyes fall onto David’s grandparents she tried not to feel intimidated.

“I’d like to thank you both for allowing me to visit your beautiful home.” Leonette said after listening to Mr. Avery say to make themselves comfortable. With that she took a seat next to David and upon hearing that David had poor OWL scores she hardly doubted it. They hadn’t talked about it yet but she knew that he had failed at least one class before he took the test. Though, upon hearing David’s reply she wasn’t surprised that his personality never changed between home and school.

Looking over at David the look Leonette gave him was one of sincerity. She had offered to help him study but he had turned her down. Perhaps if he had let her help he would have at least passed. Though, she did nod at his comment on knowing how to cook. “David would be right about that.” She said in agreement. Leonette didn’t see a reason for her to hide anything about what she could or couldn’t do. After all why not own up to things she was good at. Besides if someone asked how she did on her OWL scores she could at least say she passed everything.

"Well at least her manners are better than yours, David," Jane Avery said with a sigh as she sat down after Leonette did, not bothering to reply about the comment on the home, though she had smirked slightly at the girl's compliment initially.

"It doesn't take much," David answered, dryly. "I'm still more than happy to accept being disowned if you care to."

"That joke is getting old," Robert Avery answered taking a seat and waving a hand towards the tea and said once Leonette agreed to David's comment about her cooking skills, "Go ahead and have a cup of tea. Wendy made it before she headed out. She also is a fairly talented in a kitchen. Perhaps more so though with potions than cooking. Regardless, we are one of the few older families that see the practicality of avoiding complications house elves bring and haven't bothered with having the sort for some time."

David glanced away and continued to sip his tea not saying anything before he glanced back to his grandfather who had fallen silent and silence built for a moment before Jane spoke up, "So, Miss Mitchell, Leonette was it? I suppose you have two sisters as well. Wendy has said to be decently acquainted with your younger sister Mary... or..."

"Mira," David interrupted.

"Mira, yes," Jane said. "Wendy has at least never reported anything negative of her. So at least one of your family member is vouched for enough."

David looked at his teacup he set on his lap and didn't bother to mention he had his doubts about whether Mira was exactly associating with who Robert or Jane Avery preferred. After all, she spent a lot of time with Tanya's little brother-not that David had a problem with a kid-but Tanya's brother spent an astronomical amount of time with the Ryans kid. And the kid seemed to have settled quite well in the Slytherin house despite being what David would judge as overly outspoken-that is if he was being kind. Meanwhile Jane glanced to her husband and then focused her attention back to Leonette, "So, why don't you tell my husband and me a bit about your family? After all, I am sure David has told you plenty and you've of course met my daughter and I suppose that man she decided to lower her standards to marry-at least the Leagues are a respectable enough family- and of course I know you have met Cathaline."

Thank god they thought she was polite. Now all Leonette had to do was continue that and pray that all went well. Her father had said just to be herself… that she didn’t have to change for them. Perhaps he’d noticed something about her when she came home. If he had been home before she had left he definitely would have based on what she was wearing… Oh well, she knew what she was doing or so she hoped.

“Thank you.” Leonette said at the mention of tea. She’d decided not to say anything on the whole better manners and being disowned. It was safer to keep the subject on a happier note in her opinion. Taking a cup of tea she took a quiet sip. Luck for her Wendy knew how to make a good cup of tea.

Listening to Mrs. Avery, Leonette nodded in conformation that she’d gotten her name right. Glancing at David for a brief moment when he interrupted, she then looked back at his grandmother happy to at least hear nothing had been said. The sixth year wasn’t surprised when she said that Mira was vouched for. The whole point of this was for them to figure out every little thing about her family good, bad, or otherwise.

When Jane asked for her say a bit about her family, Leonette remembered what Wendy said. No one likes a liar. “Well, it’s just my father, my two sisters Mira and Grace, and myself.” She told them. “My mother passed away when she gave birth to Grace.” She explained simply before continuing. “My father met my mother while they were at Hogwarts through my uncle when she started there. After they both graduated they met up again and then they got married. A little while after that I was born, two years after that was Mira, and three years after that was Grace.” She said calmly.

“My father works for the ministry and since my mother passed I've been looking after my sisters.” Leonette said before added. "Mira has an interest in the arts and a love of potions. Grace loves reading and has read all of my school books. As for myself I play chaser on the Gryffindor team, I love music and as you have probably guessed cooking." She finished before added.

“Is there anything else you’d be interested to know?”

Robert Avery the first sat back as Leonette began to explain her family situation and Jane leaned forward, meanwhile David had moved to adding sugar cubes to another cup of tea, seeming to try to keep his focus more on that than anything else. Finally when Leonette finished speaking Robert was the first to reply, “There are a lot of jobs in the ministry-some more respectable than others.”

“And a lot of reasons why to work in certain departments-good and bad. For example, Lysander Tempest once worked in mum’s department. And the guy end up going on some murdering spree that was pretty grisly. At least Wendy’s father only killed one guy and it was far less intentional,” David answered. “The Oblivator department is in many ways about protecting muggles from too much knowledge that’ll just harm them… and yet Lysander Tempest went on to murder dozens of muggles and then his own family. Mum spent weeks having to deal with that mess. She wasn’t happy to say the least. But, it proves that where one works says little for the individual.”

“Well, it also proves what I have thought for ages on how much more competent Averys are verses many other families-including the Tempests,” Jane said with distaste.

David shrugged not bothering to answer as his grandmother glanced to her husband and Robert, leaning back, changed the subject back to the matters more at hand and the people present, “There’s quite a bit that I would be interested in knowing, Miss Mitchell. However, I have to say the loyalty to family is commendable. It’s a very Slytherin trait actually. Unfortunately, there is always the occasional family member you must cut off for their own good, despite how it may or may not pain you to do so. And, I know very well some people have found way to officially cut someone off but unofficially not. For example, where the funds for Flourish and Blotts was raised from…” Robert raised a brow at David who took a sip of his tea which he had added half a dozen sugar cubes to. David wasn’t totally surprised that the man had figured out his father’s investment in the store-after all, where to find that much money on short notice for a wizarding book store was limited. “I suppose I should first ask you what do you know of our family before I bother returning the favors of introductions.”

Taking a sip of her tea, Leonette listened to David in many ways vouch for her father since where he worked wasn’t the best in this case. She was grateful it got to the point where she just had to be quiet and listen. If there was one thing her boyfriend was good at it was talking enough to push past the initial question and avoid having to give an actual straight answer. Though, through it all she did recall the Tempest. One of them had actually landed in Hufflepuff if she remembered correctly.

When the subject was changed, Leonette couldn’t help being happy about her slight praise on family loyalty. The brunette knew exactly what Mr. Avery was referring too. The Ryans’ family, they were cut from the family. Why she didn’t really know. David had never really explained all that, probably for the best. Glancing over at David something hit her. ‘Don't the Ryans family own Flourish and Blotts…?’ she thought to herself. Obviously there had to be something going on revolving that, what Leonette wasn’t sure.

Looking back to Mr. Avery when asked what she knew Leonette thought for a moment. “I know that other than David and Cathaline your whole family has been sorted into Slytherin house. I also know that David’s mother is head of the obliviator office and that his father is a squib.” She replied. “Other than that I don’t know much else aside from that you made David conditional heir.” So she failed to mention she knew that he disowned the Ryans’ family. What good would it have done to mention such a thing? If he wanted to share that was his choice after all.

"Actually, you aren't entirely accurate. David will be named the official heir to the family before the start of the next school year," Mr. Avery answered raising a brow. David glanced away, he hadn't gotten around to mentioning that to Leonette. He half dreaded what his grandfather would say farther on the matter, but Mr. Avery ended it quickly with a single statement, "Though, beyond that you are accurate enough."

Mr. Avery paused and then nodded at Leo's summery and glanced at his wife who said nothing. And, taking a sip of his tea, the room was silent for a moment when finally Mr. Avery gave a curt nod to his wife who said, "And you never bothered to ask more? Or do you not care to know more, Miss Mitchell? Though I doubt David is the most forthcoming about our family considering his poor jokes about being disowned. I'm aware where my grandson stands on inheritances and old families, what interests my husband and me, Leonette Mitchell, is what interest do you have in my grandson? Though obviously you don't come from a moneyed family or a particularly notable one, you don't seem to be the type to try to climb the ladder of notability. Besides, Gryffindors especially seem to lack the ambition of that sort. So, Miss Mitchell, what exactly is your motive? What is it you want? After all, even the most so-called 'pure-hearted' have something they are aiming for."

David frowned at his grandmother's words. He knew the question would be eventually asked, but it sounded so distasteful from his grandparents. Besides, David could easily point out most sixteen year olds didn't exactly sit around mapping out their entire futures to every detail. Even, he didn't, and David knew he obsessed over planning far more than was normal. Of course, he was raised in the sort of family that thinking was thought to be normal. David seriously doubted that Leonette would have some artful answer that would satisfy either of his grandparents. In many ways David felt as if he was winging certain details-especially who he dated. Besides, the Averys weren't exactly mentally stable and David was well aware of his lacking in being a likable person. David glanced to Leo and raised a brow and gave her a half smile before glancing back to his cup of tea. He decided that his grandparents could sit around plotting but he'd take things as it came, even if he was far more dedicated to Leo than was probably logical. After all, if he had been logical he would have dumped Leo the moment he found out Sapphire's feelings and move in that direction. At least his grandmother was fairly partial to the Slytherin-and if Jane was-well it had a great deal of influence on what his grandfather's opinion was. Jane Avery, formerly Jane Chaisty, was remarkably cunning, even if she was petty and prone to gossip and petty insults.

Leonette was a little shocked that before the start of the school year David would be named official heir. Though she figured he probably just didn’t have time to mention it to her. Luckily Mr. Avery didn’t press the matter further and just accepted what she knew for the most part.

With the eerie moment silence between them Leonette was wondering what question she’d be asked next, hopefully an easy one. Taking a sip of tea she realized she wasn’t so lucky. Glancing over at David the half smile he gave her was at least a little reassuring. Although even Leonette knew that she couldn’t give them an answer that fit to their expectations.

“Truthfully Mr. and Mrs. Avery, I don’t like to pry. If David feels the need to tell me things about his family, then I’d be happy to listen but aside from that it’s not my place to ask." Leonette replied before answering the real question at hand. "As for my interest in your grandson, I don’t have any motives and I don’t want anything from him aside from the relationship we currently share. I’ve been friends with David since we met first year. I knew nothing about him then, all I wanted was to be his friend and I’ve spent most, if not all my time with him since. The only difference between then and now is, I want to be more than just his friend and I know he feels the same way.” She was speaking the good to honest truth on what she wanted.

Leonette wanted to be with him because she had feelings for him, the kind that made it hard to imagine any length of time without him. She was pretty sure that’s how her father felt about her mother and how her cousins’ felt about the people they were with. It just made sense to her, whether it did for anyone else didn’t matter to her. Glancing over to David she hoped she said the right thing. Or at least didn't think she was digging herself a hole in the ground.

"And, my dear, it never will be your place to ask no matter the circumstances," Mr. Avery said with a small smirk. "David does make a lovey face for an old pureblood family such as the Averys. After all, unfortunately, due to politics the ministry tends to scrutinize the old families far more than necessary or fair. My youngest grandson, David, has a great many faults, including his lack of tact in wording, but his directness is a change. I recognized it with my own children the importance of knowing more about the muggle world-which was why all my children have taken muggle studies- and David can navigate it quite well without needing the class, though, the same can be said in regards to Cathaline, but she lacks ambition or common sense."

Mr. Avery shook his head, "But you said your current relationship? More than just friends. I would have thought you would be on rockier terms all things considered. Regardless, friends are expendable. As are casual romantic partners-which is what I prefer to consider you two. Though, David lacks a certain casualness about most of his decisions, including the company he keeps."

David raised a brow and spoke up finally, standing and setting down his tea cup, "No one cares to hear an old man ramble. I can summarize things, I made an agreement with my grandfather for five years of time to properly align my affairs to be a proper heir without direct interference during that time. If I am able to do so it will be a smooth transition. If not, depending on the severity of issues, he or my uncle are free to assure those are fixed. If it is a lost cause, well, even black sheep serve a purpose."

He glanced at both his grandparents, "She's not the type to ask unnecessary questions, she is loyal enough to family, and has manners-definitely better than mine- and far more patience. Is that all?"

Mr. Avery sat back and shook his head and waved a hand and said, "No one cares to hear an old man ramble, correct David? Feel free to head out. Or stay here. I do need to send a letter to your father. I was considering offering to look after Leah for a few weeks once you and Wendy return to school. It gets quiet in the manner. A change is nice. Besides, I hear that Cara and the squib are having quite a bit of trouble being able to find a muggle nanny right now since Leah looks to be the most expressive with her magic. And to think I was worried that the child was going to be defective."

"Go figure," David said dryly, as his grandparents stood and left the room. Once the door closed, David leaned back on the couch and let out a long sigh before picking up a cup of tea and taking a long sip not saying anything. It could have gone far worse. With half a laugh he said changing to the subject of Leo's family, rather not focusing on his, "So anyways... how has your summer been so far? And Is Mira still mad I forgot to mention certain Ravenclaw's friend is from a disowned Chaisty? Grace is starting this year, too, correct?"

Leonette remained unfazed by Mr. Avery’s comment. Although saying what he did about David and Cathy irked her a bit. She may not know a whole lot about Cathy but she knew enough to know the girl was smarter then she looked. Luckily the brunette sitting across from them wasn’t the type to snap at an insult. Leonette knew that they didn’t agree with David being anywhere with her. However she unlike them didn’t believe that friends were expendable.

Before she had a chance to say anything David stood up. Looking over at David she would be lying if she said she wasn’t worried. As Mr. Avery said, tact was not something he was good at. Listening to his words Leonette at least knew the overall agreement between his grandfather and himself. She may have followed but honestly she didn’t like the way it sounded. Coming from David it probably sounded a million times better than if his grandparents started on everything.

Though, when David stood up for her Leonette felt special like she was more important to him then she thought. Perhaps she was, after what happened with the rumors last year and of course Christmas it was reassuring. Looking back to Mr. and Mrs. Avery she certainly didn’t like the use of the word defective but pushed it off as they left the room. Luckily she’d survived her first meeting with them somehow she doubted they were truly done questioning her beyond belief.

“That went better than I expected.” Leonette said with a sigh after the door closed. Leaning back feeling as if she was trying to remain in perfect sitting position the whole time, the Gryffindor looked over at David. “Why am I not surprised that you’d go and change the subject from our current situation?” she said with a smile as she sat up and grabbed a cup of tea. “As far as how my summer has been, I suppose it’s been fairly uneventful. From what I can tell Mira’s forgotten all about it although I somehow doubt that. Regardless she hasn’t been complaining. In fact I think she was spending more of her time telling me I was walking into a snake pit to be eaten alive.” Honestly it wasn’t as bad as Mira had stated but she hadn’t been far off. “And yes, Grace is starting this year. She's excited to say the least.”

Taking a much needed drink of tea Leonette looked down at the remaining liquid in the cup. “I know you probably don’t want to talk about it... but how’d I do?” she asked still remaining focused on her tea. “I mean… I know nothing I said would have mattered but I’d like to know at least what you thought.” She tried to explain her reasoning for asking, as she glanced over at him briefly before looking back down at her cup. Honestly she didn’t want to talk about it either but it was just something she really wanted to know.

David nodded grimly at Leo's assessment of it going better than expected. When Leo asked about changing the subject David let out a humorless laugh, "Because, that's what I do, Leo. I avoid subjects I don't like." He did smile some when Leo began to talk about her summer and that Mira had been doing well and kept talking about it being a snake pit and then about Grace starting this year.

"Hmm... and Grace will probably end up in Ravenclaw, right?" David asked of Grace before Leonette returned the subject of the meeting. He made a tsk and leaned back, massaging his forehead before glancing out the window, "Honestly it is hard to say. If Wendy was here she would probably know, she's the most like them of the family or of the younger grandchildren or our distant cousins, well Wendy is considered the last true Chaisty so she isn't exactly a grandchild, but still. Of course, I can't figure out what Wendy thinks or does either. Not usually. I mean, she could have cut off Mira a long time ago. It would make more sense if you ask me, but Wendy has vouched for Mira as my grandmother said."

David shook his head and said, "As for my opinion, I summarized what they were looking for. You don't get far if you stick to antiquated ideas like 'blood purity'-all you get is a crumbling fortune and a dying family tree; however, there are plenty of purebloods who aren't purists who end up quite successful. But then again what family would you ask more questions of and look at closer if you were a ministry official-a line of just well known purist Slytherins or a pureblood family that does interact with muggles and muggleborns and halfbloods and all sorts well. Or at least speaks poorly of those who do think blood purity actually should still amount to anything."

"I'm so focused on being nothing like the rest of the Averys I end up being the perfect official heir," David said. "As long as I don't end up fraternizing with anyone who is a complete disgrace it doesn't matter. Or say call a ministry raid on the manor or something or burn this place to the ground." He shook his head, "All of which I've considered. I thought in passing to give it to muggles but I doubt the wisdom in that..." He shrugged and said, "By all logical accounts the meeting went well enough. If anything my commentary is the biggest issue of the whole thing, but they are already annoyed enough at me," he ended with a shrug as he stood and said, "Anyways, we are free to go where we please. Is there anywhere specific you want to see?"

Leonette knew that much about David. In fact it wasn’t hard to figure out that he avoided certain subjects. Everyone did it at some point in their lives and honestly she couldn’t really blame him. Still smiling the sixth year nodded. “That’s the plan. If she has anything to say about it that is.” She told him. Honestly Grace would be great in either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw and it could go either way. However, if Ravenclaw is where she wanted to be then Leonette hoped the sorting hat would put her there.

Listening to what David had to say about everything Leonette looked up at him. A part of her wanted to smile at how he couldn’t just give a simple answer. “You know a simple answer would have been you did fine don’t worry about it.” She said shaking her head. “Although, I’ll admit I am grateful that Wendy didn’t say anything bad about Mira, that’s the last thing either of us would need right now.” Leonette said before adding. “But, regardless I do agree with you and I appreciate that you stood up for me today.”

Leonette thought for a moment on David’s question before standing also. “Actually there’s isn’t. Honestly I came here to see you and to get the unavoidable out of the way.” She answered. “Though again it’s mostly all about you.” She added with a smile. “Got any suggestions?”

David smiled when Leo spoke of her youngest sister's plans. "Well, everyone knows, or should know, the Sorting Hat does take a person's personal preferences into account," He said with a shrug. When Leo said a simple answer would have been 'you did fine don't worry about it' he raised a brow, "I couldn't actually say the last part-the 'don't worry about it'. I have figured out a long time ago to always worry about a Slytherin's thinking is probably best for one's health. And, when it comes to my family, all the more true. Perhaps even more true about certain Hufflepuffs in the family tree," he added half joking. The only Hufflepuff of course being his sister Cathy.

David didn't bother to say anything more on the matter of Wendy or Mira's friendship or whatever it might be, or what Wendy may or may have not said and instead listened as she added that she was glad that he stood up for her. "Oh, but I do so partially out of selfish reasons," He replied with a shrug. "Besides, I grew up dealing with these people. They are my family-regardless of how much I may or may not like them. I'm sort of stuck with them. Well actually at this point I am stuck with them. And all things considered, I wouldn't be surprised if both of them lived another two decades."

He shook his head and then looked at Leo a bit confused when she said she had been there to get the unavoidable out of the way. "Well, you could have just broken up with me and avoided this whole thing," David pointed out. "I'm sure many of your friends have some little campaign for that to happen-no doubt led by Tanya. At least, I can understand why your sister seems so fond of Tanya's little brother at least: the kid is quiet."

"Anyways, 'all about me', huh?" David said to her last statements and gave a bit of a smirk, "Well in that case, I could give you the grand tour of my room in the manor." He kissed her on the cheek and then stepped back holding up his hands innocently, "I'm kidding... sort of. No, there's the general foyer I usually spend a fair amount of my time because the grand piano is there or we could go outside. The manor's beach is probably where Wendy is, though. She spends most of the summer outside around the ponds or on the beach of the manor."

Leonette know that Grace would land in Ravenclaw if that’s where she wanted to be. The Sorting Hat would put her there just like it did David and Dakota. There was no doubting that. At his comment about what she said Leonette smiled. “Cathy isn’t that bad. Thought, I get what you’re saying and I know ‘don’t worry’ is out of the realm of possibilities here.” She knew his family was something to worry about.

When David said he stood up for her partially for selfish reasons Leonette shook her head. “Regardless of whether it was selfish or not, I’m glad you did.” she told him. “And I hate to break it to you but everyone is stuck with the family they were born into. Not including those who were disowned.” She added. After all she was stuck with her family and sometimes they drove her crazy.

“I could have but what kind of a person would I be if I did that?” She asked him. “Besides, I can’t say if my friends are campaigning for it or not. They don’t exactly vocalize how they feel. In fact anyone I’ve talked to about us seemed to have nothing but nice and/or helpful things to say.” She admitted. Not that she talked to a whole bunch of people but there were a few. Regardless of how her friends felt though, Leonette wasn’t one to walk away from anything when started. Whether that was a bad thing when it came to being in a relationship she really didn’t know but she hardly gave it much thought.

Leonette didn’t say anything about her sister having a fondness for Tanya’s brother but she knew David was right. Mira liked Timothy for that reason. They could just sit in the same room and the Slytherin wouldn’t be irritated because even when they talked he didn’t make noise. As odd as it seemed it was almost like Timothy was made for her sister in that regard.

Looking at her boyfriend when he questioned her on it being all about him, Leonette nodded as she wondered what he was thinking. When he mentioned his room she blushed slightly as he kissed her and then stepped back acting all innocent. “That’s an intriguing idea.” She said looking away before glancing back. “Though as far from innocent as you can get.” She added. “Well unless we want to avoid Wendy entirely, I’m always one for the great outdoors.” She replied. “Plus it’s actually a pretty nice day out.” Not that she was against anything that revolved listening to David play a piano but why waste a perfectly nice day outside?

David chuckled, "No, Cathy really isn't. I adore her. But, she's hardheaded and impulsive and stubborn. Those aren't exactly lauded traits in the family. But no, I love my sister. But, you can't say you don't worry about Grace or Mira." He added at the end with a smile. And when she pointed out being stuck with one's family he shrugged, deciding it wasn't worth discussing.

"You probably would be a normal rational person," David said when she argued what kind of person she would be if she just broke up with him. However, as she went on about her friends not exactly vocalizing how they felt and the people she had talked to about him seemed to be nice and helpful about the relationship he fell silent and stared at her in shock, blinking a few times, a bit baffled. The thought that people actually were positive about their relationship took him by surprised. He wasn't exactly liked by his peers-or not that he had seen. Granted he didn't bother trying to make friends at all.

However, when the subject changed to his proposal and Leonette blushed at the mention of his room before answering David chuckled, "Intriguing? I would hope so. But, it could be innocent, I mean my own personal library is up there, too. Not that, browsing books I was actually proposing to bore you with." He shook his head, "Regardless, I'd rather not give my grandparents further reasons to be annoyed with me at the moment. Outside is fine. And, the estate is large enough that there are plenty of places to see and avoid Wendy completely. The most likely bet is Wendy is at the beach, anyways."

Holding out a hand to Leo he asked and then suggested as an after thought, "Where were you thinking to see? And I would suggest changing into flats instead of heels if we are going outside. Unless you'd rather go barefoot-though that probably wouldn't be best for your tights."
