Oh wow, she's a Crystal girl! came the internal dialogue and the blinks of surprise. Zach chuckled, slightly embarrassed and suddenly feeling tremendously out of his league. He didn't know anyone from Crystal personally, except for his cousin Melinda, and she didn't talk about school very much. From what Zach understood, Crystal was a place of exclusivity, a palace of privilege Zach would never get to see (the fact that it was girls-only aside).

Rubbing the back of his head, Zach toed the boardwalk sheepishly. "I uh... wow, I didn't know you were from Crystal or I woulda tried to find a tux or something!" He was internally kicking himself for not thinking to dress fancier, only worrying that he would sweat through whatever it is he wore anyway.

His Meadowview attendance painfully shoved to the forefront, Zach held out his arm for Failyn to take. "I'll do my best to at least get you a good time. Since it's a carnival, you up for a ride? Or maybe a game or two...?"

Demetrius chuckled, "And whats so wrong with a girl in pants?" he questioned before continuing, "I think it's great and probably the newest and hottest trend and plus you pull it off perfect. So your date would be crazy not to stay."

He smiled at the end of his sentence. "Though wait ... geek thing?" he paused and looked at her for a second, "What geek thing? Please do share." He didn't know how he just talking to her like this but he had to say she was definitely peaking his curiosity. Which had never happened to him before. Ever. Never ever.

As soon as she said she was his date his smile got even bigger on his face. "Well if you are indeed Emily, then I suspect I am," he said with a small bow, "It's a pleasure to meet you my blind date Emily, and I'm glad to hear you like fun. Since I plan on having as fun as you can possibly handle." He chuckled a t bit at the end since he was honestly so nervous even if she couldn't tell. He also still had no idea how these words were coming his tongue so easily, but he was glad they were. Since every word was nothing but the truth.

"Though with that being said - which ride or game would you like to start on? We have many options - rides, music, and even a few teddy bear winning games I believe," he said as he looked to her and then towards the park ahead of them.

As he awaited her reply. He started thinking how he was glad he signed up tonight. He was having fun and the night had only begun. After all they were only at introductions and fun questions. His friends or maybe the books he read said that was the first small yet huge part in a date and hoped he was doing alright from her view.

"I plan to work on Computer Sciences and such, try getting into robotics." Emily grinned, nodding. "My Dad does computers and such as well, so I don't doubt it's genetic. I'm considering Dungeons and Dragons, and I'm kind of a gamer, music fan..." She laughed. "Getting into the Marvel films. I've introduced myself to people like this."

She smiled, stepping back and bowing.

"I am Loki, of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose."

The brunette beamed and stepped forward again, regarding the second question as she spoke. At least he wasn't the sort to expect skirts. This was a plus.

"Sometime I plan to try a con. Cosplay and all. Mmmm... Well, what do you want to try first? If we do rides first, we can both go and not worry we'll drop something or lose it, but if we do games first we can wander a little."

Emily tapped her chin thoughtfully.

"So what are you into, too?"

Zach chuckled when she took his arm, thinking he'd finally done something right during this whole 'date' thing. He thought of himself as a gentleman though he lacked the restraint most older folk possessed. Right now the only thing he was concerned about was keeping Failyn happy and occupied. "Nah, I don't think all the ladies at Crystal are snobs. I mean, I know it's pretty exclusive" Up came the air quotes, "but my cousin Melinda went there and she's real down-to-Earth. I just know Crystal has a reputation, but so does Meadowview."

With a shrug, Zach let it drop.

The boy felt very proud of himself, able to lead around his date because she had asked him to. Really, he didn't consider it power, but trust. He would strive to give Failyn a good time. "We don't have to ride the rides if you don't want to! There's plenty to do, like those skeeball games and ring tosses... and cotton candy too! And not all the rides are big and scary." Zach walked slowly with Failyn, trying to keep her from having to move around the people on the crowded boardwalk. He pointed to a ride that seemed more Failyn's style.

The ride was a rollercoaster but the track was very low to the ground (maybe four feet at its highest) with gentle curves. It was a short and closed track meant for children or people who weren't interested in rough-and-tumble, scary rollercoasters. The ride itself was a happy medium blue in color and was named Ocean Waves with beach scenery painted all over the railing for the line to start the ride. "What about something like that?"

Silas found that blush charming, but did wonder why she was acting embarrassed. "Yeah! I was just wondering about what your name meant, that's all. Gentle like the wind, huh... it sounds like your parents actually put some thought into your name." He couldn't help but chuckle to himself. "I don't think my name has any special significance to it. Most of my family has pretty plain names." He took a quick glance around the carnival. "So, what would you like to do first? We should do the rides before we do the food, I think."

Zach chuckled at the thought of being at the dundundun bad kids school. He liked to think of himself as pseudo-basass, especially since he was a senshi now and all that that entailed. But if he were honest with himself, he was a good kid. Even if he didn't want to be. "Yeah, or Hillsworth. I hear drug dealers and kids with criminal records get sent there as a last resort. No thanks! Even if I don't come from a lot of cash, Meadowview's not so bad in the grand scheme of things..."

The boy couldn't help but grin when the couple ended up in line for the diet rollercoaster. Really, he didn't mind hat ride they went on as long as he could get to know his blind date. "Of course! I'll make sure you don't fall out or anything - you never know how wild n' crazy this thing might get in TURBO MODE!" Zach leaned back and chuckled good-naturedly. While he was simply teasing, he wondered if Failyn was frightened of the crazier rides the park had to offer. "After we're done with the crazy, we won't have to worry about keeping a hold on our prizes. Cuz we're gonna win prizes. You can bet on that!"

He dropped her a wink then, not knowing whether his carnival game was up to snuff when it came to winning prizes. He hoped he didn't embarrass himself in front of her.

Christa felt her cheeks flush and dropped her gaze, twiddling her thumbs in nervousness. "Ah, actually... my younger brother wanted to go on a date and I didn't want him getting into trouble. So... I signed up too. I wanted to make sure he didn't do anything..." She cleared her throat, wondering then if Zach were nearby and could hear her. "...stupid."

Brown eyes had wandered to the food booths and she wondered if food first would be a good idea. Since she hadn't been to too many faires in her life, Christa had no idea if there was a rush hour for food or not. Funnel cake was lovely but wouldn't lemonade be better? And the chicken smelled divine. She, however, was rocketed back into reality by Donovan's comment. If she had a drink in her hand, she would have dropped it onto the boardwalk. "E-e-excuse me?!" she sputtered, hands flying up to her cheeks. She was completely broadsided with that statement.
