She turned her head away then rolled her eyes, taking care that he wouldn't see the gesture.
"I know, I know. But won't there be water closer? I thought healers made a point of living near water for just that reason!" She really did not want to walk through the woods soaking wet for a second longer than she had too.

He lifted his brows, and tilted his head. "Well yes, he lives near a river... I suppose I can understand your feeling, I just... Have concern as to what might be in it. I am sorry if I presume. I would hate for something even more unpleasant then has already happened to you to come out of that encounter."
He sighed softly, but didn't know what else to say. Infection could set in quickly, but if she didn't want to wash it til they got to Chane, that was her choice.

She nodded. "If I can wash the wing without soaking myself then... maybe. But I would prefer to make the journey rather than risk catching a chill while I'm already compromised."

"Of course. When we get to the first stream, perhaps you can look over the situation, and see if it is possible to do so. If not, we shall see how fast we can go without exhausting either of us, nor compromising your health further." He sped up, just a bit. He didn't want to go so fast they'd miss things on the ground but... The sooner she got there, the better.

She sped up, keeping up with his pace, "I will tell you if I need a rest." She already knew that she would before the hour was up, but for now, the more ground they could cover while she still felt more or less fit and healthy the better.

"Excellent." He gave her an encouraging smile, and led her down a winding path through the woods. "So what brought you to angering that fellow? You mentioned a foal...?" He found himself pondering what an angeni could do to anger a kalona enough to leave his child alone. "Did he think you'd threatened his foal?"

She rolled her eyes openly this time. "The foal was trying to stomp on some little field mice. I was just going to scold it then send it on it's way. But I'm sure a bit ol' kalona daddy isn't going to take too kindly to an angeni approaching so I don't really blame him for thinking I was a threat."

"Ahhh I see. Over protective fathers, in any breed, I suppose, and with Kalona, that leads towards... another level of it."He nodded, and led her on.
After an hour, plus a rest break, they broke through the trees near the river. The place they were heading was ahead, and Rosh relaxed, pleased they'd gotten there. "All right, we're about there!"

She was panting heavily by the time he said those magical words. If she'd been on her own her pride wouldn't have been enough to keep her standing, but as it was she couldn't just flop down in the sweet, sweet shade. That being said, she was far too tired to realize that she should have recognized the area. After all, she'd played here plenty as a filly.

"Just around this bend, we'll find a place where you can safely rest, and I will see who is around. There are... a number of soquili who come and go in this area." He smiled a little, thinking of the various horses, and nodded. "None are dangerous, so if any come out, you needn't worry about being attacked."
He moved towards the bend, and added as he went "The water here is not so cold, and quite sweet. If you're thirsty, I would definitely suggest this is a good place for a drink."

She nodded, staring at the ground as she focused on breathing. Just a little longer, it sounded like. This would be the stream to wash in, but they would want to drink first. "Thank goodness," she sighed. "I don't remember the last time a walk in the woods has tired me so.

"I can imagine. I know that when I first got here, I was having the same reaction. I mostly fly, but I wanted to spend time with my brother, and he has no wings." He gave a soft sigh. "Perhaps if he had, he could have escaped that damn Skinwalker with less damage. But I digress."
He walked over to the water's edge, and lowered himself to drink. He had to get down on his knees, as he always found himself off balance kneeling to drink, for some reason.

She had lowered her head to drink, but her ear flicked at the mention of a skin walker. "Your brother was attacked? Is there a skinwalker active in this area?" she wasn't sure that she would be able to stand against a skinwalker any time soon, but if there was a walker she would have to find some way to combat it regardless.

He lifts his head from the water, and blinks at her question, then smiles. "Not that I know of, now. No one has seen her since the attack. It wasn't... too close to here, I think. I'm not 100% sure how close it occurred, or where the walker's range is... But none of those who I know have spoken of her, so I think she might be gone from the area?" He honestly believed this, since Aurianna made sure to patrol the range semi regularly since the attack, but they could have missed something.

She held back a relived sigh. "Good, good. I'm glad no one else has been injured." She lowered her head again and drunk her fill, "When you're done, I'd like to bathe this wing."
