"I'm going, I'm going - ow, ********' hell Elliot!" Bas was already on his way underneath the booth when his friend's hand shoved down on his head and forced him into hiding. He would have protested more noisily, but seeing as he didn't want his wages to suddenly be cut in half he, in a rather undignified manner, remained tucked under the booth as Elliot's mom came in for an inspection. There was hardly enough space to hide, and if Elliot's mom happened to wander around the booth they were both screwed. It might have been better if he just pretended to be hanging out with Elliot... His mom would have disapproved, but surely she wouldn't have chased him off.

Hiding now made him look suspicious.

Plus, it was boring. Idly, he drummed his fingers against Elliot's thigh, tapping out a pattern while his friend regained composure just to talk to his own mother. God, the two could be chatty... Sighing softly he found a rose, and began to pluck out the petals one by one until he deemed that enough quiet had occurred above him that he could slip out of hiding.

He cast a wary glance over to Elliot, hoping his friend wasn't going to just shove him back down again, and slowly rose up to peek over the edge of the booth. "She gone yet, or are you just letting me chill out down there for fun?" In a pile of rose petals, to boot.

"Working hard?" His mother questioned, raising her brows at Elliot as her lips curved into a wry smile, "Looks like you've managed to make a couple of sales at least, though the day is early yet. I expect you to keep at it until most of these are gone, okay?"

"Yeah yeah, I've got it," Elliot grumbled in response, absently pushing back some of his peach-colored hair that had escaped his hairpins, "Anyways, is that all you wanted to do? Come check up on me? Because now that you've done it, you can go now." Although his face did not show it, he was more than a little anxious about the fact that his mother would probably skin both him and Bas if she realized that the latter was hanging out in the booth with him. It wasn't as if she disliked the boy any, rather that she knew the pair would never get any real work done when in each other's presence.

His mother fell silent as she seemed to consider something, but then she finally nodded. As she opened her mouth to speak, however--likely to excuse herself--a certain someone decided to peek up and speak at that moment. Fortunately, the noise of the crowd drowned out his words, but it was pretty clear that Elliot's mother had heard something by the way her head snapped to the side. Elliot himself lurched to the side just in time to cover Bas from view, forcing himself in an awkward and very unnatural looking position to block his friend.

"What was that?"

"That was...that was uh, my stomach! I haven't eaten yet, but I'll probably go and grab something in a bit." Noting that his mother's eyes were narrowing in suspicion, he cleared his throat. "I mean...uh, you know. After I make some more sales and stuff."

"...Alright," The woman finally relented, taking a step back, "You seem to be doing a good job. I'll be back to check on you again later, okay?" A rapid nod in response. "See you later then, Elli."

Leaning forward slightly to meet his mother's kiss on his cheek, the teenager watched intently as she turned to leave, waiting until she has disappeared among the crowd before finally drawing back with a sigh. Close one.

After a bit of travel, Shun came upon a rather flowery booth that was run by what looked by a fairly laid back individual. Or bored. Maybe both. He was planning on going on his way when he was stopped to suddenly be requested to tell a joke.

The young man just stared at the boy for awhile.

He just had a staring contest.

Commence the bland staring from both parties.

"...Not a funny one, are you?" Elliot asked dryly, leaning forward and propping his elbow on the surface of the booth, chin in his hand, "At least entertain me for a bit--you don't know what it's like getting stuck with running your parents' flower booth." That being said...

"I'll give you something for free," He added, trying to bribe him into chatting for a bit or something, "I've got uh...these nice beaded flower things...though you don't really look like the type of guy who is interested in that kind of stuff. Other than that..."

Turning, he rooted around. "I've also got a pencil, some candy, annnnd...my lunch." Last one courtesy of his mother.

Man, how sad was it that he was trying to buy (more) company? He truly was that bored.

"WOW. WHAT A WONDERFUL BOOTH WE HAVE JUST HAPPENED TO STUMBLE UPON, RIKKI," Danny announced.

She was casually looking at the sky, the flowers, Elliot- everywhere except a certain guy who had been avoiding them. She was still respecting Shun's space, it was just a coincidence they were here.

"You're right, I don't. And I'd rather not find out, either," he deadpanned in return. The offer of something for free did catch his attention, however. Shun tilted his head in thought, then crossed his arms. He wasn't quite hungry again yet and that banquet was soon but...

"How well does the lunch keep?"

Maybe he could get that and save it for later. A luxury that didn't happen all too often.

"And for that matter, what do I need to do in tu--?"

His words were cut off as he heard an all too familiar and loud voice announcing its presence. Closing his eyes, he let out a heavy sigh. He just couldn't catch a real break from this girl, could he?

Reaching down, Elliot grabbed his lunchbox and set it on the booth's surface, right in front of Shun but just out of reach. "Omelette rice, and some baby tomatos and cucumber slices on the side. Er--I guess it'd keep for a bit. Wouldn't leave the egg part out anywhere hot for too long, but everything else..."

"As for what you have to do, for God's sake, just entertain me somehow. I'm bored out of my wits here, and--"

...Now that was an interesting girl who had just wandered to his booth. Certainly a lot more lively than sir-blank-stare over there (granted that his expression was just as blank as Shun's had been).

"What about you?" Elliot drawled, lifting a hand to point at her. "Do you have a funny story to tell me? I'll give you something if you manage to make me laugh."

"Hi Shun," Rikki said as they passed.

Danny was the one being the wind or some s**t. He was happy to still say hello. He also kind of thought that maybe there needed to be a sane middle person to be rational.

"Do you wanna buy some flower stuff, Danny?"

"For that matter, do you want to buy some flower stuff?" Elliot shifted his pointing hand from Danny to Rikki, "Because my mom's stuff is awesome. I think. I don't know--take a look. Buy something for your buddies here."

He was a good salesperson.

Rikki started a bit as he was pointed at, freezing for a second to glance at the booth owner. He was actually kind of charming compared to some of the booths they'd been to. Which was probably bad for Rikki's wallet. "Do you think you have a flower pin that would flatter Shun's broodiness? I'd be interested."

That food looked really good. He could always eat the egg bit first then save the rest for some other time. While he considered this, he heard Rikki passing by with a greeting, in which he just gave a reluctantly curt nod along with a low grunt. He had other things to think about right now.

Entertain...

Shun was hardly an entertainer. He didn't know a thing about that, really. He soon paused as he over heard Rikki once more. Slowly he turned to stare at the other man.

He said nothing.

The faint smirk on Elliot's face widened into an amused grin at Rikki's question. Reaching to the side, the peach-haired boy pushed forward a small box, flipping back the lid to reveal a number of cute, beaded flower accessories. "I'm sure I could find something. I mean...how about this?"

Rooting through the items, he pulled out a pink flower hairpin, offering it to Rikki for the other boy to examine. "Goes with his broodiness pretty well, I think, and if you ask me, I think it even brings out his eyes a little. And if it's any solace to you--" His gaze flickered to Shun, "Your suffering at the hands of your friend is pretty good entertainment for me. You might not have to do anything after all for this lunchbox."

Rikki's eyes lit up and he held up the hair pin so that it wasn't touching Shun, but he could still see how they looked together. "I don't know man, seems like a match made in heaven to me."

He raise his brows to Shun. "What do you think? I bet we could get a really good price if you want it. He said it brings out your eyes. I hear that's important."

Danny gave Rikki a shove. "We're supposed to leave him alone!!"

Then Elliot asked her for a funny story. She didn't have any stories, but jokes-

"What do you call a fish with no eyes?" she said cheerfully. When the appropriate, comedic amount of time had gone by, she said, "A fshhhhhhhh."

She then began laughing at her own joke. Loudly.
