Proto was smirking just a bit...but he was serious. Joe better bring back a straw. It was important!
And touch anything? ...Hrmph, the General was having a hard time staying awake. He really just didn't have the strength right now to go around messing with Joe's stuff. Honestly, the other Audio should have felt honored! Of all the places he could have crashed, Proto felt like trusting -him- to not do anything stupid while he got some rest.
That counted for something, didn't it?

Joe growled as he stomped out and slammed the door lest Proto add any other items to the shopping list.
Several minutes later, the rebel audio returned toting a six pack of E-tanks and a hundred pack of bendy straws, since that was the smallest size he could find them in.

In the several minutes since Joe had been gone Proto had done...
Well, nothing.
In fact he was still in the same exact spot. Nothing moved, nothing touched. Hell, he didn't even greet the other as he walked back in.
Namely because he had fallen asleep. Again.

Joe walked over and dropped the cans loudly onto the table by the couch. "There ya go. Happy now?" he huffed. Proto better not expect to be served too. Not that he wasn't grateful for what he'd done, but Joe hoped the general didn't expect him to bow and scrape for him now. He was also maybe a bit cranky since he was quickly becoming hungry again.

The bot let out a startled yipe, jumping a bit in his seat. Thankfully Joe was out of strangling range this time, because Proto's good arm was definitely whipping around ready to grab whoever the -hell- had the nerve to scare him!
....Oh right, he was in that guy's house. ...He must have fallen asleep. Between the hurt arm, the scrambled memories, and his inability to recharge correctly and thus being tired -all the time- he was starting to get really annoyed.
Not at Joe though, just at the situation itself.
"...Thank you."
And he honestly did sound grateful. For all the snark and coolness earlier Proto really did appreciate any time someone bothered to help him. Now though, he had to go about getting his fur smoothed back down and a straw into one of those E-tanks. Thanks Joe, he could in fact do that part on his own.

The general of Wily's army just said thank you?! To him?? Wow.....now Joe kind of felt like an a** for startling him awake. Grumbling a little, he nabbed one of the cans and popped it open before holding it out to Proto. It wasn't like he'd been commanded to or anything, he just felt like it okay? It'd probably be kind of hard to get it open one handed anyway. But Proto could get his own straw!

...Okay well Proto was just -confused- now. Thanking him again, the General took the can...and yes, he managed to get a straw into it on his own. The red bot was content to sit there and sip at his drink for the moment.
Yeah, he was kind of a quiet uninvited guest. Sorry Joe, he had deemed your house safe and now you just had to deal with it.

With his guest apparently appeased, Joe took the opportunity to dig some leftovers out of the fridge. Chinese...well it still smelled like food, so he'd chance it. Taking a seat on the chair next to Proto's couch, the rebel audio began stuffing his face while he observed his guest. "You're a robot so uh...isn't that sort of an easy fix?" he asked between mouthfuls, pointing to Proto's arm.

Oh...Joe was talking to him again, honestly Proto had been starting to nod off yet again. Hopefully this E-tank did the trick and got him to wake up. ...For a bit at least.
"...It's something I'd prefer to fix on my own."
He sounded rather uneasy when he said it, but he wasn't going to elaborate on the circumstances. It wasn't something Joe needed any details on.

"Oh." Joe slurped down a long noodle. "You can fix yourselves?" Well that would be good to know. He thought all the bots had to go back to Wily for repairs. A nice little bit of information to add to his journal which was lying open on the table HOLY s**t! Scooting to the edge of his seat, Joe attempted grab and stuff it away as nonchalantly as possible. Nothing to see here!

With his reports stashed safely under his backside, Joe resumed eating. "Hmm." Well that was good. At lease they didn't all do self repair. "So uh....not to bring up a sore subject but the guy said he got you in the face...with a rocket launcher...and all you got was a broken arm?"

Suddenly Proto realized that Joe had, in fact, mentioned something about a guy saying he was dead before. The statement had only just now caught up with him, now that he was waking up a bit more. Well s**t.
"Let me guess, grey colored hooded guy, real jackass. No, he didn't hit -me- with a rocket launcher...he was aiming for Wily and I got in the way. He's lucky he hit anyone at all with his terrible aim."
Flashover's aim wasn't really that bad. Proto was just blowing the encounter off. ....only way to stop himself from being enraged.
"There's other damage...the arm is just the most noticeable."

"Yep that's the guy." Joe shoved another mouthful of noodles into his maw. Well that was a relief. If the other robots were rocket proof, the resistance was in real trouble. "So you almost got yourself killed to save Wily? You really like that guy, huh?"

Getting Proto to admit he liked anyone was a pretty hard thing to do. But there was definitely some sort of connection since that blast had done quite a number on him.
"...So exactly how did you run into Flashover of all beings. He's usually sneaking around the outer limits and offing bots. Doesn't seem like somewhere -you- would go."
The General's gaze was fixed on Joe as he resumed drinking his E-tank. -Maybe- Joe had higher connections than he thought...
