With a mask crafted just for me, I draw close to the enemy -
Slaying all those who may believe - dropping them in them dark.

The moon overhead burns up - like it may fall apart,
sinking over the hills into the dawn ...

"Micha'el" Lottie called out. She was a little way behind the white mage and was climbing over a rock face when she saw him scouring the environment from a small piece of jagged land that stood up high. Aoi was climbing up the same rock just behind her, her mic-like wand in her hand as she let out a sigh. "Micha'el" Lottie said again, but he continued searching frantically with his eyes. "We're not going to find her like this, this place is too big" her voice was equal parts concern and logic. "I know" he replied, his shoulders hanging low as the stench of the forest began to fill his nostrils again. That was when a chittering began coming up towards Lottie, something she had quickly become tired of in this place. They had been fortunate not to come across to many Vardent yet, however, there was the occasional- Lottie swung her glaive down to the right, there was the sound of cracking bone and the burst of disgusting liquid as she cut through the carapece of a gigantic bug. "And there's are too many bugs" she shook her head in disgust.

It was then when a rumbling sound echoed out beneath the canopy of the trees, and not far from them a great purple pillar of light erupted above the trees. "Oh no" Aoi began. They ran as fast as they could to follow the power, knowing that it must have been something to do with Tsuna. Where ever Tsuna was, they realised, would always be a big flashy show of some kind. When they got close to it, it was coming from a great gaping hole in the ground not far from a fortress of stone, seemingly in ruin. "Tsuna!!!!" Lottie yelled. Micha'el spotted her quickly, and jumped down to take a closer look at what was going on. When he landed he was astounded to be surrounded by cursed stones, they looked very much like the Sunborne crystals yet these were darker and dead. Tsuna was absorbing the power.

Just as he was about to help her he heard something move, the gargantuan beast beneath the rubble exploded with life, its grotesque and fearsome shape coming to a stand before him. He took a step back and stuttered. Suddenly the sound of metal flung past him and Lottie's glaive sunk itself into it's flesh as it let out a cry in agony. "Go!" Lottie shouted, jumped down and running at the creature. "We've got this one, Micha'el!" Aoi confirmed, extended her wand into a singing staff as she parted her lips. This time it was quieter, perhaps even a slightly different song but it only effected Lottie, concentrated a lot of speed and power into her body.

Micha'el turned his attention to Tsuna and attempted to pull her from the inferno. But the moment his hand came into contact with her body he was flung backwards and a sensation he didn't like filled his body. Pushing himself up from the ground he spat out some dirt then flung over his book. The Aria's pages glistened in the little light their was as he commanded the right pages to spread with his fingertips in the air above him. He conjured up a white ball of magic, an aura of wispy velvety magic that expanded to surround him and then it attempted to surrounded Tsuna too. But the dark magic was trying to combat it, letting out a massive groan of protest. But he gritted his teeth and forced the barrier to expand further, engulfing half of Tsuna's body in it's warmth as he called out to her. "Tsuna!" he pleaded, air rushing through his hair and clothes as the dark purply magic lashed out to attack his magic. "Let go! Don't let it take you, whatever you're doing nothing good can come from these stones!"

And again the tragedy repeats, shrouded with a veil laughs a face ominously,
To protect the things precious to me,
I'll draw my blade and challenge this dark cruel destiny!

Like prey trapped without a prayer - tangled in webs of despair,
My eyes lift up to the light, locking on to the sky.

Tsuna Miki

Tsuna heard a familiar voices call out to her among the flames trying to console her possessed stated. However, the Chimera Vardent hadn't died from her flames and was now attacking her group. Lottie managed to temporarily stun it by stabbing one of her glaives in its reptilian flesh. Aoi's harmonic singing enhanced Lottie's fighting, speed, and accuracy while Micha'el jetted around the flailing beast to get to Tsuna. At first, he tried to approach her head on, but once he made contact her power rejected him. He refused to quit, and instantly flipped through the Aira for a protective ward. White magic curled at the tips of his fingers and a bubble of pure magic encased his body. Against, he tried to combat it against her and expanded the barrier trying to pull her into its containment. Half her body was in, but the darkness around her began to rage against the unknown force. Micha'el's voice became more and more distant with each passing second and her consciousness was being taken into the darkness.

Out of nowhere, a firm yet caring hand from an unidentified man plopped onto Micha'el's shoulder. When the boy looked up, he would see a burly man with wild red hair and bright blue eyes. His black furry appendages looked exactly the same as Tsunas. He wore a grungy black coat that was practically torn to shreds with the sleeves messily rolled up. His trousers were ripped at the bottom and he wore no shirt exposing his scared chest. The man had jumped down with ease after spotting the pillar of flames that he knew was his daughters. He smirked at Micha'el and proceeded forward gently embracing the child in his burly arms. The darkness tried to counteract and fling the man away, but he had to tie of a loving hold on Tsuna. Micha'el was even able to get closer with his interference. The man leaned down to Tsuna and replied in a gruff, but soothing voice. "I know you're stronger than this. I bunch of tainted crystals could never satisfy your hungering strength. Forget about them. Your friends need you...I need you. Come back my Little Warrior." He gave her a small squeeze and looked down into her eyes that began to return to normal. The flames instantly began to extinguish themselves and the darkness quickly lost its influence over the girl. For a second, Tsuna looked up through her blurred vision seeing a face that she had almost forgotten. "Dad..." she whispered light before she fainted after what little energy she had left her.

Cradling her sleeping frame close, he glanced over his shoulder at the blonde. "Take her and your friends. You all need to leave now before the other Vardents appear. I'll finish off this abomination." He placed Tsuna in Micha'el arms like he was handing off a baby and ran towards the creature. He loudly began to antagonize it knowing he'll get its attention. Shortly after, he pulled out his weapon was similar to Tsuna's but more elaborated. As the ax head transformed, he swing it down onto the Chimera's tail severing it and causing the creature to fly into a rage. "GO NOW!!!" he shouted to the children unable to give a second glance.

Micha'el valiant attempts and thrusting his power further and further were quickly coming to be useless again this taint magic. It was unlike demonic magic that he'd ever faced before, which usually the Aria can expel with ease. He gritted his teeth and was ready to push again as he heard the yells of a charging Lottie behind him. But then something touched it, it was a careful but strong grasp on his shoulder. Micha'el looked up with a gasp and was startled to see someone entirely new. He was tall, burly, strongly built and his arm.... werewolf? Micha'el asked himself. And suddenly everything was coming together and he moved forwards to help Tsuna. He was stunned, this man could withstand the might of the Vardent magic. With his help Micha'el extended his barrier, it's white and misty magic crawling around the two of them as it's walls finally surpassed Tsuna and her father. The fire ended and she lost consciousness.

Like a blip his barrier vanished from existence and his book closed tight with one firm clasp of his hand. Then the man came to him, telling him to take Tsuna and the others far from here. Dispelling his book he opened his arms to carry her. She was heavy, but not too much. He then began to take the atention of the monster and as soon as Lottie back-flipped away to make some distance he was charging at it with a similar weapon to Tsuna's, just more elaborate and extensively designed. Aoi suddenly stopped singing and the aura over Lottie dissipated into the air. "Lets do as he says!" Micha'el shouted, jumping from the crater through several pieces of fallen debris to reach the top.

Along the way back many elven soldiers had arrived and were just on their tail. Many of them continued on to follow as Team Sun informed them of someone else still fighting down there. It's uncertain what the Sunborne will find when they arrive, but their relations with the Therians, especially the Therians of Ardinas, are very healthy.

As they arrived back at the encampment Sun Elves directed them immediately to the infirmary, a long tent with Sunborne banners at the entrance. Inside were a wooden floor with beds laid out evenly with cream and red sheets. "I think she's just unconscious. But she touched one of the dark crystal- stone- things" Micha'el informed the Sun Elf with robes of red and black. That was when the Onsen Twins appeared at the entrance to the tent. Kotaro had his back to his brother, Kaito, and the two of them stared down at Team Sun as Micha'el placed Tsuna on the bed. "Hm, did her quest for vengeance get the better of her?" Kotaro asked, and then Kaito replied "such recklessness is a disgrace among students of any academy. Well..."
"Perhaps not Hope Academy, dear brother."
"Correct, Kotaro. And little did the girl know we were right here in this camp the whole time"
"Shut up!" Aoi said, pulling her hands into fists at her side with her shoulders tensed as she walked up to face them. "You two are nothing but an inglorious smudge on the portrait of Merlin Academy! I bet any student from Hope Academy has more of a personality and willingness to extend the wisdom of our school than you two do together." Micha'el was stunned, standing with his mouth agape at Aoi's sudden outburst. "Yeah!" Lottie then said, coming to stand beside Aoi with her arms crossed. Kaito gritted his teeth, baring his fangs in anger but Kotaro muted him by pulling away from his back and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't waste your anger on them, Kaito. They will get what they deserve". And with that the two of them turned on their heel and left the tent, vanishing somewhere elsewhere in the encampment. "Oh my god, Aoi" Micha'el then said, stepping forwards just as Aoi turned around and her face was terrified. "That was terrifying! I'm never doing that again it can't be good for my health and don't even let me think about whether i brought enough spare underwear normally the rest of my team throws the insults but I just couldn't stand there and let them treat you that way" at the end she took a massive breath in to replenish her longs.

And again the tragedy repeats, shrouded with a veil laughs a face ominously,
To protect the things precious to me,
I'll draw my blade and challenge this dark cruel destiny!

Tsuna Miki

Tsuna remained unconscious for most of the journey back to the Sunborne encampment. She didn't stir until the very end of the twins quarrel with her team proudly hearing Aoi stand up for herself. This reaction bruised their egos even more than her punch, but truth be told, Aoi wasn't the aggressive type. The redhead fluttered her eyes open when the boy's disruptively left leaving Lottie and Micha'el to console Aoi. Tsuna lifted her heavy body which must have been the side effect of absorbing all that dark energy and began to glance around. She was in the medical ward, the smell of herbs and anesthetics was quiet pungent. The floor was hardwood for sanitary reasons and all the cots were dressed in the riches red and cream colored sheets. Not far from her, stood a mighty warrior Sunborn, his black hair was slicked back and his goatee was beautifully pointed. He was generously armored with many pieces of armor and a long shield similar to the other Sunborne in the city. Tsuna's somewhat dulled eyes wondered over to her teammates as she breathed lightly in relief that they were safe.

Tsuna smiled slightly and turned away when her hand unintentionally slipped into the pockets of her jacket. She knew she hadn't lost anything fumbling around for what little items she did had. However, it was the fact that her fingers pumped into a thick cylinder object that surprised her. When she pulled it out, her eyes widened because immediately she knew what it was and who she received it from. Before she lost consciousness, she could have sworn she saw her father but assumed her wary mind was playing tricks on her. It wasn't, and her father must have discretely stuck it in her pocket before her team took her away. At that moment she should have been thrilled, but instead she was terrified that her father was even roaming around the same area. As the child wobbly stood up, she grabbed the head of her hammer and extended the handle. It was clearly obvious that she could barely hold the thing seeing her weak arms tremble under its massive weight. Difficultly flipping the hammer round so the tip of the handle was facing her, she stuck the cylinder on the end and turned it sideways until an audible click noise was heard.

After flipping it back over, she faced her team sternly so they could see what she was doing and what the gizmo is for. It's a mini rocket launcher barrel with a scope attached to the top. It's powered by the fire magic that burns through her weapon and condenses that magic into more concentrated form. An endless supply of ammo, but only when her physical state is top notch which right now it was far from it. Struggling to hold her weapon horizontally instead of vertically like usually, she began to walk up to her teammates. She stopped at Aoi and put a shake hand on her shoulder. "You look down to no one, Aoi. Those twins don't even count as an obstacle." she smirked acting like she was alright before glancing at the other two. "Thanks for taking me here, but I have to leave now. Stay here and don't follow me." she advised a bit harshly as she shoved past them. She knew they would stop her regardless, but as weak as she was, not even the three of them combine could hold her back.

Team Sun all gasped and were suddenly aware that Tsuna was awake. Even Aoi was momentarilly distracted from her own ramblings as Tsuna seemed to get up with a new attachment for her weapon. With an audible click that was what initially alerted the others she put it with her hammer, then showing it off by chance, revealing it to be a ranged addition. "Tsuna" Micha'el said as she began to come towards them, "you should be resting-" but then she walked past him and was suddenly in front of Aoi. She let out a small yelp of surprise when her hand landed on Aoi's shoulder, but Aoi opened her squinting eyes as Tsuna gave her words of encouragement. "o- thank you." In reply to her other comments Micha'el was even quicker to respond, "What? No, no you're not going out there alone again! We came here as a team and we'll fight as a team, we didn't just save you from that monster just so that you can get yourself hurt."
"Yeah..." Lottie began, "You-" but Micha'el began again. His tone firmer. "Someone saved you out there" he lied through his teeth, well, not exactly. He had a few good guesses as to who it was. "and he obviously cared a lot about you. So i will not let you go like this just so I can break the promise to a hero who risked his life for us and I wil not let anymore people get hurt!"

The last part came out a little unexpectedly. Spoken as if he felt guilty for hurting people, as if he felt responsible. Even he seemed a bit shocked at what he came out with, feeling the sweat on his forehead. But he stood his ground with narrowed brows. He stared at her through the archway of the tent, feeling his chest turning tight.

"At least... if you're going to be stupid... let us be stupid with you?" Lottie then added quietly, hoping not to agitate Micha'el further, but hoping to reach Tsuna without anymore trouble.

"I highly advise you stay here to be healed, the sun's healing magic is quite effective" the Sun Elf at the back of the tent then added, as if finding now the right time to say something rather than earlier. Even still, his posture and expression didn't seem to show too much worry, just a general care towards her well-being, but if she was to refuse he wouldn't be too bothered. Her blood was not on his hands.

And again the tragedy repeats, shrouded with a veil laughs a face ominously,
To protect the things precious to me,
I'll draw my blade and challenge this dark cruel destiny!

Tsuna Miki

She was left speechless and wasn't as impenetrable or strong willed as she original assumed. Micha'el words of concern brought her to an abrupt halt, slowly she glanced over at him. Lottie attempted to be just as abrasive, but missed her opportunity once Miche'al made his point imperative. She would have never guessed that he was guilty for being unable to fend for someone in the past. Or at least, that's what his confession of atonement sounded like. In many ways, she could relate knowing that she had failed a lot of people in the past. The boy's eyes reflected his secrets, but whether he was in the mood to get regrets off his chest was entirely up to him. Tsuna wasn't the type to physically force information out of others, unless it was necessary, but in this case it was a matter of repentance on his own terms. She appeared just as shocked as him and together they looked like two long lost friends staring at each other through a transparent wall. Neither of them wanted to open up to one another but in time they may find they're more similar than they think.

Finally, Lottie wrapped up the tension by saying something so like her that Tsuna couldn't help but snicker. The elf in the back of the tent also interrupted suggesting that staying there to heal was the best solution for her. She couldn't hide her damaged posture and decided to give in. Sighing, she twirled around and tossed her hammer lightly onto the bed. She sat down with an exaggerated plop and rubbed the back of her head. "You guys care to much, but its for the better." She looked up smiling and leaned back. "You know Micha'el, my father would have loved to here you call him a hero. He's a real narcissist." She inhaled deeply and immediately changed the subject to more important affairs.

Turning to the elf, she replied, "I assume you're the Captain of this small operation. I don't know how long you've been stationed out here, but maybe you can enlighten me. Have you come across any Vardents that can mimic human speech? The one that I was fighting...it spoke to me." She paused looking serious, yet confused. "It was searching for its creator and didn't know what it was...I believe I angrier it unintentionally." She took a moment to contemplate what to explain next. "The tainted crystals were down in the pit with it. They were hidden well so it was no wonder anyone could find them, and there power..." A subconscious flashback came to her mind when she involuntary used the stones to save herself.

((EDIT: ((my next post is in Dawnrise Vale))

Finally... she listened to him. Micha'el let out a great sigh as she seemed to finally turn around and take her seat on the bed. He could have rolled his eyes at her comment, but his head was still writhing and so he couldn't be bothered. As for the conversation moving over to the elf, he nodded. His glowing eyes blinked once before he said "Yes, but only once or twice before, a long, long time ago. We call them Abominations... they are the twisted gathering of... usually Sunborne that have given into the hunger of the Vardent Crystals. As they are the original forms of the Sunstones, before we have purified them, they are stronger but much more dangerous. Under rare circumstances the victims of the crystals can come together so much they they form one being with fractions of their mentality intact. They forgot what they were... but they identify with us... with you." he looked down as thought it was hard for him to recount memories of facing one. "I am sorry you saw such a creature. I am Landaras, the captain of this basecamp. Now, let me heal your wounds."

Landaras got down on one knee and opened the palm of his hands over Tsuna. He took in a deep breath and muttered some incantation, then a warm light radiated from his fingertips and reached out to her. The magic was like nothing the arcaz sovereignty could make, nor even the healers of Shard. This was the magic of the Sunborne, it was a warming, healing light that was much quicker than any healing she had seen before. His eyes glowed more brilliantly until he was finished, then standing up. "There, you should feel better now.

Tsuna Miki

The elf confirmed that he has encountered the talking Vardent, but it was long, long ago. He said the scientific name assigned to is Abominations for they are comprised of tainted Sunborne that feel victim to the Vardent's Crystals. The same could have happened to her if she had harnessed the power a little bit longer. Although she was surrounded by a dark aura, the power of her father's love and Micha'el endurance saved her. He continued to report that the rare cases of the crystals being misused by the Suborne end up manifesting into that thing she saw. Their minds are still active meaning that was the reason why the creature could communicate. With all those minds being cobbled together, it's no wonder their memories detoriate over time and in order to maintain some since of humanity, they try and connect to anyone they come in contact with. Tsuna felt confused and sad for the creature because in a way it was suffering by staying tethered to this world. She blanked as he apologized to her for seeing such an atrocity before healing her wounds.

Her physical wounds were minor, but her heart ached with pain hoping her father fled before that thing could get him. Landaras knelled down in front of her and spread his palms outwards over her. Inhaling deeply, he spouted his incantation causing light to flicker from his fingertips. His glowing eyes mesmerized her as a warm sensation healed all of her afflictions. The radiance slowly dimmed when his work was finished and he announced that she should be fine. Tsuna felt fully rejuvenated and stood up grabbing her weapon again. This time she swung onto her shoulder with ease and looked to the others intrigued. "Are you guys ready to go on a monster hunt? I think its ugly head will make a nice mantel piece on King Sol's wall!" She was pumped and wanted to get moving as soon as possible.

I just wanted you to be my brother...
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▒▒Micha'el Maues▒▒▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

Dry your eyes now baby,
Broken wings won't hold you down.
You'll take flight soon baby,
You'll be lifted up.
And you'll be there.is the prize.

Feel it everywhere and you see it growing,
Enemies arise and the hate is flowing,
Shattering the moon and
bloodying the sky.

Getting back to Sunspire was pretty straight forwards, they went back to the camp just within the borders of the infested forest and the Striders were there waiting for them by their tent. Without having to say much they were able to leave the forest. The whole way back, Micha'el wasn't quite sure how to feel. He was still angry, but he was also relieved. He was angry that Tsuna had used herself as a suicide bomb on not one but several occasions. He was also relieved however that Aurelius was destroyed, he didn't believe for one second even he would survive a fall like that after being crushed by debris. All the while however, he had been wondering what the twins were up to. They hadn't seen them since this morning, and they never turned up at the tower, nor did Landaras ever mention anything about that after his initial thoughts about the two. He had a feeling he'd be seeing them soon though. When they emerged from the forest and into the vale it was refreshing to feel the warm sun on their skin. It was still early afternoon too, it lit up the green grass beautifully and the scattered white-birch trees with golden leaves stood out like focuses pieces of an ornamental display. Even better was the feeling of returning to Sunspire, although the Elves seemed to not really react as if they've done much. They went about their lives, lounging, researching, reading, spell-casting, you name it. Their lavish lifestyle could not be stopped. They left their Striders near the front of the city and walked back towards the King's palace, where the gigantic bridge stretched over the bottomless crevasse.

"Welcome back, Team Sun." A voice called, and it was King Althaes Sol. He emerged from the towering archway at the other end of the bridge and came along the red carpet towards them. He face didn't greet them with happiness, he had the same expression that Landaras had, one that was worried, one that was almost shaken. Yet like a cat, like the many felines in this city, he was doing his best not to show it and instead looked indifferent and emotionless in his cover-up. "The deed is done? Aurelius is dead?" he asked. And Micha'el nodded, "he's gone, and the tower with him."
"Good. You have done this city a great deed"
"Why did we do it, if I may ask your grace?" Micha'el then said, stepping forwards and looking over the rim of his glasses. "Aren't your people strong enough? Or was this a test?" Althaes tilted his head, so slowly it was almost eerie as his long, bright orange hair fell over his shoulder. "A test?" he asked, and then let out a strong guffaw. "Of coarse it was a test. You Occulians came here to help and to learn, and when the Star Elves reached out to me to hand them a mission for you to take I did so to test the powers of Occulian Children. Not to extend my hand back to the Star Elves. Their chance for forgiveness was lost long ago. But you have proven to me that Occulas has come a long way since we left. Did that answer your question?"
"Yes. Thank you. But there's one more thing. When we were fighting Aurelius something happened." Micha'el swallowed, wondering what to say. But the King was already stepping closer, standing much taller than them as he approached. His eyes narrowed, his brow raising as he seemed to swoop down slowly to listen. Lottie realised how he made almost everything seem so majestic, but perhaps it was all the regal red and gold robes. "Landaras and his guards cast a light from the sky-"
"A solar beam - it blinds and stuns the most powerful of enemies, but it is difficult to cast."
"Yes..." Micha'el continued, "but just before it, something else made Aurelius pause long enough for the beam to hit. A voice. Did you hear it?" Althaes stood up straight again, putting his hands behind his back in thought. He then looked between each of them and said "there are a great many myths and legends in this world. You know that?"
"Well... yes."
"Like the Grim Reaper! The High Angels...." Lottie added, and even Aoi added "Injustira is real though! He made the Syndicate."
"Well some of them are real. There is one such legend here that bothers even evil magisters. There is one such legend that instills fear into the people of this land. He was once known as the Vardent King. Long ago, he was said to have ruled the Vardent in Magic Earth before they were eradicated. Centuries ago this legend drove an Orc to insanity and almost caused him to thrust the Vardent upon Otherearth, killing thousands of people, even elves. If anything did scare Aurelius, it was that legend."
"So you heard it?"
"No. I heard nothing.

The machines of war will fuel both sides,
And the greed will only grow more lies;
Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to
die.

Where did it go?
Our peaceful
youth,
Seems to be gone forever

Tsuna Miki

The Striders were mounted in the camp awaiting their arrival like Landaras said, but the birds were less resistant to her this time. On the ride back through the forest the team stayed silent, especially Micha'el who was probably still bitter towards her. Tsuna had caused problems for her team time and time again making her wonder why they came back for her. Her ears drooped low as she kept her eyes on the ground trying to recall Aurelius's death and the destruction of the tower. The twins should have been their to steal their victory or at least be used as a diversion for bringing down the tower. Although, they had been absent since this morning's dispute so she didn't believe they would appear for a while. Finally, they approached the clearing where the sun warmed their chilled skin. The bright green grass and fall colored leaves rustled among the light gusts of wind as the sun still rose to the earlier afternoon. Sunspire and its citizens weren't effected by their mission in the slightest, in fact, they hardly noticed their return. Entering the city, the Elves were going about their lives the same as before, reading peacefully, spell-casting, and lounging serenely. She assumed they couldn't be bothered by trivial threats despite the king making their situation sound so urgent. Jumping off the Striders, they began to travel across the endless bridge built above an empty crevasse to Sol's palace.

King Sol loomed out from the archway on the other side greeting them as solemly as Landaras did while he met them half way across the red carpeted structure. He hid his emotions well, like most of the cunning cats that roamed Sunspire yet his eyes held a since of terror within. Immediately, he inquired Aurelius death and Micha'el humbly answered. He pretended to sound pleased by their successful endeavor, but Micha'el wanted a more in depth reason of why they took that mission. Tsuna had a gut feeling that this mission was a farce, considering the test they were given when they first arrived, however after the death of her father she wanted to believe that it wasn't meaningless. The eerie way Althaes tilted his eyes to where his glowing eyes would become more prominent and his hair cascaded down infuriated her. When he scoffed and admitted it was a test of their skills as Occulians and not a favor for the Star Elves to get back in their good graces, Tsuna's rage burned. Visible vapors were searing from her burning palms but she kept her head down and her mouth shut out of dignity for her teammates.

Micha'el kindly thanked him before informing him about their supernatural encounter with the voice. The King appeared interested as he sloped in closed with brows raised and ears open. Micha'el started off by reporting Landaras's and his guard's assistance of the solar beam to which Sol explained how the spell functions. Micha'el understood its power, but emphasized about the strange voice instead wondering if he heard it. Sol stood up adjusted his pristine posture before glancing at each one of them. Suddenly, he began spouting the same nonsense Landaras did causing the children to conjure up their own examples to relate to this topic. This so-called Legend he spoke of is real and terrified the evil magisters as well as the people of the land. This person was once associated as the Vardent King feeding an Orc's insanity to the point where he unreleased the Vardents onto Otherearth slaughtering thousands of different races. He knew that the voice was the legend that scared Aurelius, but all this time Sol was dodging their real question. Micha'el asked again if he had heard the voice and bluntly Sol denied hearing a thing.

Tsuna unintentionally spat out, "Bullshit!" Instantly, she regretted her actions as she looked up at the others as well as the King with her ears flattened and her tail stiffened. The vapors in her palms has ceased by now, but the rage burned deep in her chest and she felt like she was going to explode if she didn't let it out.

I just wanted you to be my brother...

Dry your eyes now baby,

You'll take flight soon baby,

Feel it everywhere and you see it growing,
Enemies arise and the hate is flowing,
Shattering the moon and

As Tsuna quickly rebuked against King Sol, he shot her a glance in exchange. His fiery eyes glowed almost white-hot and his very long eyebrows narrowed down on her. "Tsuna!" Lottie yelped, just as Micha'el stared too, but his not one of disgust for once. Micha'el felt it inside him, King Sol was lying and he should have known Tsuna wasn't going to stand around and let him lie like that. King Sol grinned, "you've surprised me yet again, little Therian. You have seen through my lies. And what if I did hear the voice? What if I did hear the reverberations of a chilling spirit, an echo that turns bones brittle and pulls the breath from your lungs?" King Sol leaned down, as if swooping beside her like some kind of dragon he moved so elegantly. Upon passing her ear he breathed out, as if it pained him to speak his next words as he bared his teeth, "I'm to tell you there's nothing to fear?" King Sol then swooped backwards, moving behind them now with the Sun's Zenith floating far back behind him in the courtyard. "Come, team Sun. Let me introduce you to the Burning Sect."

Tsuna Miki

His white-hot eyes narrowed in of Tsuna as she coward before him while Lottie scolded her for being so disrespectful. However, King Sol must have found her intuition amusing as he started to laugh finding her yet again surprising. Yet, that fact that he may have heard the chilling, heart-wrenching voice wouldn't have changed the events test they endured. King Sol intimidatingly swooped down next to her and breathed words that rang more truth in them than anything she had heard from wise leader before. Her eyes closed and she placed as hand over her chest in pain knowing that fear existed no matter where they went. Moving behind the group, the Sun's Zenith lightly levitated over to the courtyard as he felt obliged to introduce them to this Burning Sect. Tsuna hung her head low and was ready to follow the group without anymore disturbances if she couldn't avoid it that is.

"Hm" King Sol couldn't have wasted any more breath on the girl even if he tried. Instead he gestured for all of Team Sun to follow him so that he might finally show them what this entire test was for. Even now, Lottie and Aoi could sense something... wrong. Secrets, Micha'el thought, were never usually good. That's why they were kept a secret - heck, even the Injustira Syndicate, the guild of justice itself keeps secrets. He led them back towards the street it the city covered by the tallest towers and the large, ornate tapestries that stopped the beaming sun from ever hitting the stone. Dull sunstones floated above tall shrubs or as centre pieces to floating circular tables, usually adorned with books or a singular feline enjoying the cool air. But then King Sol took a different route, he led them into a tall and narrow archway covered by a thin purple material. Upon moving through the air was cool and clear, within there were long sofas with cushions, a large black floor and a circular decline in the floor where a large dull sunstone hovered. This one was perfectly spherical and was almost like a glass ball with white sunlight swiling within it. Next to it was a sun elf, this one was staring into it, almost as if in trance. From her eyes the white-light streamed into the giant sphere. And through the crystal, in the centre, the streams of light formed into what could be seen as a pair of magical white eyes staring back at her.

Micha'el felt like he was somewhere he shouldn't be, even more so than upstairs in the open city. Down here it was... heavy, darker... as if they were walking amongst the underbelly, walking amongst the secrets and darkness that the sun elves had spun. But he could tell, this was where the sun elves went to avoid the sun, even now he saw one of the elves, this one a made, laying down majestically on one of the padded sofas. His long black hair was in a loose ponytail over his shoulder, his knee pulled up and leaning against the side of the sofa whilst his face glanced at them, his eyes burning white. Micha'el then noticed his skin around his eyes, it was cracked and white-light, the colour of the sun, was bleeding through. Micha'el was not sure if the power that the elves here had was a blessing or a curse. It seemed the elves liked to think of it as a reason to be who they are. They cannot get rid of it, so instead they learn to live with it. But all he could gather was that they use their torturous life as a means to stand above the rest - believing themselves stronger because they can endure so much.

When his attention was brought back to King Sol, he noticed a guard was down here - strange. Here of all places. Wait - no. This was not one of the city guard that they had met before in the woods, or along the bridge to the main tower where King Sol resides. He looked closer at the guard and instead of being adorned by brighter colours alongside the golden armour, it was instead a darker tabard he wore, blending in with the room. This guard's red were also a lot darker, instead of the red being bright, as if ripe blood, it was dark, as if dry blood. "Answer me this, team sun. When you see the condition of my people, when you see the power the Vardent has given us once we have bent it to our will... do you not wonder what more can be done with their power? For centuries that has been my task... my dream. We fight one enemy in the open - the Vardent.... whilst a far greater enemy lurks in the back of our minds - a greater enemy than even your own self. Imagine... if there was someone that could do more than control your own voice, your own mind. Imagine if there was such a being that could make you believe in them so wholeheartedly that you voluntarily sacrifice yourself to them. That voice you're all so intrigued about, only two powers have come close to defeating it. The first was a Goddess, to put it in common tongue. Her name was Hera'endor... Lady Earth. The other was the Vardent. One is gone forever, I don't need to ask you which one still exists."

Micha'el knew the answer, it was rhetorical, he just didn't want to answer. The Vardent is as alive as ever. That was when King Sol looked over his shoulder and said "The other elves are scared fools. They do not see the potential of the Vardent's power if captured. That is my greatest vengeance on the Vardent, doing to it that it once did to my people. We will take the power of the Vardent, let it coarse through our veins and with it... stop the Lich."

The machines of war will fuel both sides,
And the greed will only grow more lies;
Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to
die.

Where did it go?
Our peaceful
youth,
Seems to be gone forever

Tsuna Miki

They were guided back into the labyrinth streets of the city shaded by tall towers decorated with luxurious tapestries. Sunstones that were dulled floated around the area, either above shrubbery or were center pieces at the circular tables. This time around, they took a different route, a suspicious route into a narrow archway draped over by a purple cloth. Inside the air cooled and within the area cushioned sofas lined the borders and the floor was an obsidian black. A crystal ball sunstone hovered in the middle of the room while a sun elf fixated on the swirling sunlight trapped within. A stream of light was beaming from her eyes into the stone and the sunstone's smoke created two equally fixated eyes staring back at the woman. Tsuna's stomach turned from the intensifying atmosphere wondering why the King would show them such a cynical place.

This place contradicted the Sun Elves way of life, a horrid setting devoid of sun like they were purposely avoiding the one essential that gave them life. Behind her was a male stretched out on the sofa, his silky black hair cascaded over his shoulder. His knees rested against the back cushions while he faced them with a blank stare as if he were dead. Around his eye sockets, hot white light bleed through the cracks in his skin causing her feel a bit uneasy as if he never blinked. The unfortunate lifestyle these elves maintained looked daunting after a while, yet they don't show how vulnerable they really are. She understood why they liked to appear posed and elegant all the time to hid their true agendas.

Beside King Sol stood a guard which was odd to have one stationed down here of all places, but upon closer inspection he wasn't an ordinary guard. Not like the ones scattered throughout the city and palace, instead of golden armor he wore dark tabard. His eyes were also blood red, like dried blood not a fresh p***k like the other elves. Suddenly, King Sol began spewing out a tangent on the Vardent's power over his people. The way he put it, the Vardent's power can be executed to this advantage if they gain more power. It's his dream, his passion to fight the Vardents while another enemy of their's lurks in the shadows. This individual he spoke of is able to control a person's voice or thoughts to the point where you would undoubtedly submit to this being. He mentioned the voice and how two powers have come close to defeating it, Lady Earth, a deceased legacy, and an alive Vardent.

The tales of old depicted her fall but none shed light on the Vardent, so what was King Sol's motivation for revealing this information. In seconds, he conversed like a madman claiming that they would steal the Vardent's power and selfishly implicate it to bring down this Lich. What she could gather was that the disembodied voice was the Lich and Sol would advocate whatever means to stop him. At that moment, Tsuna didn't think twice and charged at the King fully equipped. The guard dashed in front of him ready to block her assault only to be thrown out of the way with on hard swing of her hammer. He wouldn't be down for long so she only had a moment to react. Transforming her hammer into an ax, she set the tip of her blade at Sol's neck while the guard who came to his rescue place a weapon at the edge of her own neck. "You're insane! You want to end up like Aurelius!? A poisoned mind, a corroded body, and a damaged spirit. You would place that same despicable fate on your own people." She paused feeling the heartache of his people. She didn't have the conviction to face her own team because this decision of defiance was her's alone. If they wanted to defy or rebel against her she wouldn't resent them for it. However, she knew in heart what was right and right now she knew King Sol was in the wrong. "If I were one of your people...you would be no King of mine." The words rolled confidently off her tongue looking into his eyes. She slowly lowered her weapon and eventually dropped it raise her hands as a surrender, but never taking her eyes off him. She didn't regret what she did or said and would accept the consequences honorably.

I just wanted you to be my brother...
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▒▒Micha'el Maues▒▒▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

Dry your eyes now baby,
Broken wings won't hold you down.
You'll take flight soon baby,
You'll be lifted up.
And you'll be there.is the prize.

Feel it everywhere and you see it growing,
Enemies arise and the hate is flowing,

Everything that King Sol was telling them was crazy. Tsuna was the first to notice it, the first one out of all of them to even voice her opinion. And for once Micha'el agreed with her. The elven guard moved in front of the king at lightning speed, his tall shield blocked her path but with one mighty swing of her great hammer he was thrown aside, spinning in the air until he hit the ground with a thud. Micha'el's eyes widened, he could not tell if the hammer hit hard or if... The Sun elf guard was already recuperating, he wasn't hit too hard at all! Aoi gasped and covered her mouth, what was she to do? Micha'el could see all the options running through the girl's mind, too many options, options that she shouldn't ever consider and yet only in this situation could she ever only think of doing such things. As the guard threw himself back up to his feet he raised a bright-glowing blade to tsuna's neck and shouted "ba'nor sol'alor diel!" whilst Tsuna at the same time held her transformed axe at King Sol's throat. "Nún'die" King Sol said, raising a hand to his guard whilst also returning a stern gaze to Tsuna. He took in a breath, one that unsettled Lottie as she stood with her fingers dancing over the hilt of her glaive. From the corner of her eye she could see the Sun Elf behind them still lying down on the sofa, sprawled out still but with his white-hot glowing eyes (still pouring with energy) staring directly at the commotion, eyebrows slightly inverted.

Tsuna gave her final statement, a statement that made the guard bite his lips and curse something in elvish, and Lottie noticed the elf behind them finally drag himself to his feet, now in a sitting position. Lottie then jumped, hearing the clang of her weapon hit the floor and rattle as she raised her hands... in surrender? Micha'el raised a brow, shocked. Aoi continued to remain silent and holding her mouth, unsure of what exactly they were going to do. That was when King Sol finally spoke. "Aurelius had a weak mind, body and spirit. His body could not contain the power he was promised, his spirit was not sheltered and his mind was easily corrupted. The difference between him and me is that I have the irrefutable trust of my people. The Burning Sect is the formed of the strongest paladins of the Light's Vengeance, unlike you, they would not disown their shining leader for attempting to save them all from something any outsider would not understand. The Vardent are nothing compared to what lies buried within the mountains-" King Sol stopped himself. He said too much. "Team Sun" he said, "you've become almost too brave for your own good in world that's so unfair. One glimpse should put your hearts at rest." And with that he flicked his hand over the cream stone wall behind him. Sparks of light, arcane magic charged by the power of the sun danced over the surface, hopping, sprinting, coming to life as they found the edges of an invisible archway. The wall spiralled into orange-light, vanishing into white-hot light before disappearing entirely, revealing a great, monolithic hall behind. For the briefest of moments Micha'el could peer within, great stone floor, tall stone wall leading to a curved and arched cieling, webbed with decoration of carved stone and touched by the tips of tall stained windows that stretched down to the ground. But what filled the hall was most macabre. There were sun elves just like this guard, wearing the same golden armour but with darker shades of red, a dark, dry blood red. There were a few Sunstones. At the very end of the church-like hall was a grand circular window, it was white-glass and through it they could see the undernearth of the Sun's Zenith, the great, gigantic Sunstone that floated in the middle of the courtyard outside the King's citadel. The circular whole beneath the Sun's Zenith was actually a cylindrical hole that lead passed this place so that it's light could shine down and deliver it's power to the dark acts going on. Moans of those in pain could be heard, the sound of weapons clashing, the sound of power thrumming through the veins of Burning Sect guards could be heard. There was one gigantic Vardent Crystal hovering, chained up in the centre. It's burned, steam came off of it as the Sun's Zenith shun down it's beams of light upon it. Around it, Vardent creatures and cultists could be seen, chained too. The elves were doing something to them, doing something to the Vardent Crystal, doing something to themselves too. And then the image collapsed and the wall re-appeared.

King Sol stepped in front of them, kicking up Tsuna's axe as he passed it slowly back to her as he said "but what is a peak worth? Nothing. It's but an image of your creation, your imagination running wild after all the atrocities you've seen in the forest and after all the energy you've exasperated helping my people defeat a tyrant. You've shown me hope, Team Sun, that in a world where the powers of the Magic Folk born of the Occulanium, of the Eternal beings, is running thin, that there are still some with the great power of the first born. Even if my people fail, there may still be hope. Not that I believe that very faithfully. You're time in Sunspire is over, your quest is complete. I bid you farewell, young Therian."

Micha'el could feel the floor beneath his feet moving, but as he looked down nothing was moving at all. In his head he was thinking through what King Sol had just said. The Eternal, the first born? He meant the first race ever born with magic powers from the Occulanium, the legend that humans once used to create Magic Earth. Back then most Magic Folk were very powerful, but after two millennia, Magic Folk aren't all born with the same amount of power, some only show basic signs of added strength, resistance and so on. Others, like himself and many others still can be trained to use their power to their full potential. And then there are the lucky few... those like Team Elixer, those like the leaders of each Guild that exhibit the power of the first born, powers so pure, so strong that they are almost as strong as the Eternal themselves. King Sol had faith... it almost sounded hopeful and friendly. But he knew at the same time King Sol only half meant that, he never believed that Magic Folk would be able to defeat whatever being it was the Elves are so afraid of. This... Lich. Micha'el then looked down again and he could see the beginnings of white-hot magic spiralling and etching runes in the ground beneath them. Portal Magic!

"Portia Evermoon" King Sol finally said.

Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to
