When broken down, every emotion can be brought back to love and hate, although some might lessen those emotions simply to preference, giving you like and dislike.
Love is an emotion, but it's the emotion that brings us everything we know.

Love is more than an emotion, I think it's the true meaning of life.
Some animals are born with only hours to live, born even without mouths or eyes, and what do they do in that short amount of time? They make love.
And without love, existence would cease.

Duh, love is an emotion. It's the coordinated reaction of the body, mind, and soul to a bunch of chemicals released in the brain.
Life is a bunch of chemicals.

Smithium Love is everything! It bonds us and breaks us. Feeds us and kills us. it's our challenge, our comfort, our purpose. I think it definitely goes way deeper than emotions, morals or logic could ever hope to reach. I think it is THE DEEPEST of all of our human experiences. At least from the ones I've experiences. Recently realizing that I have total, unconditional love for someone helped me realize this. When you truly, deeply, love someone, it never goes away. NEVER. No matter how beaten or broken you feel, I believe it remains inside. Further than the desires of our physical body. It goes beyond distance and beyond time. Love is, and nothing else~ My opinion at least.
Though I shall add:
Love can also be a connection between people. I had a very close friend once, and although we don't speak anymore, I still can never agree to anyone teasing or saying nasty things about her. I can still feel what she feels when she is near. Love is the highest form of selflessness and giving. It's everywhere; in the animal world, the plant world, the amoeba world, and our world; Earth loves us too!

Yep, love hell is an emotion. But there are also a lot of different... erm... things... of love... - like, you love your best friend, but you can also love someone of the opposite sex (in some cases the same sex) in a different way. I think there a lot of different sort of... loves for different people... wow I'm doing a great jon at explaining myself!! What I'm saying isn't really all that relavent anyways. smile

Love is what you make it.To me love is two things, love like an relationship between two people, or love like you love any thing, or you give love to the world. Love is also compassion.

Love is an emotion, but it's like a super emotion made up with a lot of things, like compassion and understanding. It's hard to explain.
