"Actually, your tail reminds me of my mother's tail," Vyrikyr said leaning back a little in the water. "She's just got this itti-bitty bob of a tail, almost like a bobcat's. My style is more like my dad's - long and braided, and exceptionally good for slapping flies or anything else that annoys me..." She followed the other mare's upwards, "It's a pretty nice day, over all."

"Oh, I hope that's a good thing." Then waited for her to say more hoping to learn what her mother's tail looks like. "A bobcat's tail, that's cool. And long tails do sound very useful for swatting flies away with." Nodding her head, "Yes it is, I like all sorts of different days though a cloudy one would be nice." Thinking a bit, "Hey, you like racing, how about we have a race around the lake later? Or a race in the lake? Never raced in a lake before." Esperenza starts swimming around the outside of the lake needing to move a bit more. Standing still, swimming still, she just doesn't like being still for too long unless she's relaxing or sleeping.

"A race In the lake, huh?" Vyrikyr considered the proposition. "I don't really know how that would work. I haven't really tried it before, but I bet if a kelpi or a mer came along we would be in trouble." She shook her head thinking back to how she'd seen mers racing from a distance through the deep water - some of their speeds had been awe-inspiring. She wasn't even sure if she could make it through the clouds like they cut through the water. "But if you want a race on land some time, count me in! After sun down though," she sunk back, further submerging her broad shoulders in the water. "It's still just a little too warm out there right now. A race would undo all this hard work of soaking in the cool, refreshing water."

"Wow, I hope one day I can watch them swim! That sounds amazing!" Nodding her head, "Alright, a race on land sounds just as good though a heads up I don't race much so I might be a bit slower then you. Though it'll still be great to race with you just to see if I can at least keep up." Splashing a bit in the water, "Yes, after the sun goes down." Esperenza dipped her head under water to cool it over then brought her head back up, "It sure would so for now we can relax and just talk to each other." She copied Vyrikyr with submerging her shoulder under the water.

"Race after sundown, you got it," Vyrikyr grinned. "And the important thing isn't if you win or lose, it's how you run the race." Of course it was easy got her to say that. Vyrikyr had only lost a few races in all her time. She pushed herself to be the best and under her aunt's training she thrived. Running, flying, it didn't matter - she knew how to pusher herself to the limit and then keep pushing. Her aunt always say it was in that time when we were uncomfortable that we grew the most so Vyrikyr didn't like to get too comfortable with her racing routine. Esperenza smiled, "Sounds perfect to me." Nodding her head agreeing with her, "Yes, it sure is how one runs the race. As long as no one gets hurt I think it shall be very exciting!" Having never raced before she decided that as long as she doesn't trip and make a fool of herself everything will be great. So for now she can just relax while wondering, "So, did someone teach you how to race or did you teach yourself?" Being more then curios about what her answer shall be when something else popped into her mind, "Before a race do you have warm up so you don't hurt any of your leg muscles?"
(That's fine, just happy you did get back to me and quoted~! whee )

Vyrikyr nodded quickly, "Yeah, you need to stretch a bit or you're really feel it. Especially in your legs - those can really hurt if you don't stretch first." The mare leaned back and let the cool water lap at her neck, "As for a teacher, I had the best. My Aunt Sonja - now, mind you she's not related by blood but that doesn't make her any less my Aunt. She's known my father for forever and she's always been in my life, well mine and my sibling's lives. Anyways...Aunt Sonja lives to run and race. She is one of the best runners I've ever seen and she's constantly racing with her companion Nightstalker. She taught me everything I know. My dream is to be just like her some day. She travels most of these days, found a lifemate, had a whirlwind romance, and now they travel the lands together. Every day's a new adventure. I wish I had a life like that, though my mother would probably freak out if I went too far away. She kinda depends on me and my siblings to stay close. Family is really important to her." Esperenza nodded, "I thought so, I've seen others stretching and just had to make sure. So how long does it take to stretch?" She listened to Vyrikyr talk about her Aunt, "Yes, even if they aren't blood related they are still family. At least that's what I think because family is also very important to me. So if it's blood, or non-blood I'm happy to be part of their family." Relaxing a bit more into the cold water, "Your Aunt sounds amazing, it's be cool to meet her one day. Maybe she can help me with racing as well? Because I'd love to be good at racing. Though the thought of getting better then entering some races sounds nice." She dipped her head under water to cool it off a bit before lifting her head out again.
(Thanks~! <3 I had to learn the whole quoting thing when I had my first guild rp in TLN.)

"Stretch times vary from soul to soul - yours will probably be different from mine, it's all in how you feel and sometimes you don't get it right...then it really hurts." She blew at the stand of hair that almost always seemed to find its way in front of her face. She really short figure out a way to get that thing braided back or something but she never managed to find time for that. "And I wish you could meet my Aunt - it's been a little while since I've seen her. She's been gone for a bit."

Esperenza nodded her head, "Alright, different times, different ways, and ways to get it wrong either way." Then she watched as she blew at the strand of hair in her face. Feeling glad that she has a shorter mane so it doesn't get in her face. Though a longer one and she could try braiding it, though she can think of that more another time. For now she's more interested in stretching the right way, meeting Vyrikyr's Aunt Sonja, and relaxing more in this cool water. "Oh, well I hope you can see her again soon. I bet she has a lot of exciting stories to tell you about her travels. Then maybe after you two are done talking maybe I can go over to meet her? We could all talk up a storm and maybe race a bit?"

Vyrikyr laughed softly and agreed, "Yeah, you know what, I bet she'd love that!" It wasn't until that moment that the mare realized that she missed her aunt quite a bit. She was going to have to do something about that some time...maybe go out and try to find Sonja while she was on one of her great adventures.

Esperenza smiled, "I hope she does because I know I will love meeting, talking, and racing with her!" Though something seemed different so she swam over, "Are you alright? Does it hurt you to be away from someone you care about so much?" She hadn't realized that maybe talking about her aunt so much would possibly upset her. Though she hasn't seen her aunt in how long since she travels so much. Trying to think of something to do she then asks, "Do you want to swim around the lake a few times? I bet that will help with getting my legs stronger to be a racer? If not it'll help me from getting bored of swimming in place."

Vyrikyr shook her head trying to clear it. "I miss her a bit," the mare replied softly. "But that just shows how much I adore the mad mare. Now, to the subject at hand, lake swimming sounds fantastic. And you're right, it probably will help your legs a bit. Might hep you mine too," she added with a grin.

Listening carefully Esperenza seemed to understand then talk more about swimming and getting her legs and mind stronger, "Fantastic! Oh, I'm glad I got that right I was hoping it would help my legs though my mind also? Never thought of it helping my mind though if you say so since your the expert in this lake." Grinning back, "I can't wait to get started then since I need all the practice I can get." Then she proceeds to swim around the lake at a slow sort of pace needing to warm up a bit before swimming at a quicker pace.

Vyrikyr leisurely stretched her legs as she treaded water along the lake side. "I'm still kinda shocked that you have done anything like this before," she said pawing the uneven ground carefully and doing her best not to slip on the hidden pockets of mud that lurked beneath the surface "I mean, not to be rude, but I've been running and racing and tumbling for my whole life. Almost since the time I was able to stand on my own I was racing. Of course I had two siblings and my Aunt Sonja. I don't know if it's the fact that she isn't my ant by blood that she felt so free to treat me, to challenge me, as she did. Or maybe she did it because she's known my father for so long. She always called him a stick in the mud, maybe she just wanted to make sure I didn't turn out like him, always worrying."
