Tears welled in Sawenah’s as she delicately wrapped her long slender fingers around the stringed trinket. She had met few people in Tendaji that would give her the time of day, even fewer willing to help; yet here this man was giving up a piece of his past, his family heritage, his personal life… to better her future. Fighting her tears as they fell she let a sniffle slide as she slowly nodded her head to accept his offer for healing.
While Takoda worked she stared at the necklace through the slits of her grasp. Through subtle movements she rotated the necklace in her hand. The feather a deep midnight, a teardrop shaped pale sapphire gem, a string of beads; it was simple in design, but that was the charm. It was beautiful and she would treasure it always. Loosening her fingers she slipped the necklace over her head and admired the way it dangled off her neck. Wiping a tear that still lingered she smiled softly while still staring deep into the teardrop crystal, “Thank you Takoda… for everything.”
Feeling the tears well up again, she fanned her face and bit her lower lip, “Ah, Not again… Enough tears!” She told herself stilling her flails to keep from disturbing his healing, “Visiting you in Tale. That would be nice… Assuming I ever find my way out of the jungle!” She laughed at the thought of her being lost among the twisted trees of Jauhar’s thick jungle. She had spent little time in Tale, that was where she was abandoned by the merchants, but it seemed nice.

For the monk it was only natural that he could give up so worldly possessions, and though still tired and weak he felt that overwhelming need to help the young woman. Gently he went about using his water magic to act as a his healing magic and as it gather around her sore feet he allowed the healing to begin. He only smiled at her words of thanks, it wasn't needed but it was nice to hear just the same. He didn't respond until she mentioned tears, glancing up he noted that her face was wet and her eyes slightly puffy from crying. "You don't need to thank me, it is the least I could do. And it isn't hard to get out of Jahaur, if you need help I can always show you the way..." Trailing off the shifter felt light headed, perhaps he shouldn't of been pushing himself and healing was quite draining at the moment. Feeling as if he could swoon he was careful to adjust his weight so that if he did pass out that he could land on the bed and not on Sawenah or the floor. "Sorry...just feeling a bit tired." He apologized looking a bit embaressed.

“Ah~” She stated as she noticed the color draining from his face. The sun was setting, but this wasn’t shifter paleness. Sliding her feet to the floor and fumbling the soaked rag in the water basin at his bedside she rang it out so that it was cool and damp. Folding it three times for length sawenah placed it on his head, “I’m so sorry… You push too hard for me~” she giggled and tucked him into bed.
Shifting her weight onto her heels she shuffled around the healing tent and acquired the items she was looking for… or so she had hoped. Shuffling by a lead nurse she tapped shoulder gently, only to nearly be blown away by her bellow, “What! Can’t you see I’m busy girl~ I hardly have the time to tend to your petty needs! We have injured and wounded left to tend to and the damned obans are at our border… We need these people better, y’understand me!?”Staggering a bit from the woman’s rant Sawenah regained her wobbly stance on her heels and smiled, “I need a potion for a healer… He nearly fainted and I-”“You know where the potions are girl.” The nurse snapped while waving her away, only to catch her sleeve as sawenah turned on her heels to leave, “Be warned we have few and no hands to make more, so use them sparingly.”Making her way over to the cupboard she swung the doors open gently to look over its contents. There were potions and healing concoctions of every shape and size, bandages, salves, dried herbs and the likes… How was she supposed to know which one she needed… The nurse wasn’t out of range to hearing her and as sawenah frantically tinkered through the fragile viles she hears, “Girl! What are you doing in there?!” With an exasperated sigh and a mumbled, “for the love of Serin…” the healer left her patient and began making her way over to the cupboard, “The green one… it’s the green one, that one there!” she called while wagging a finger in the cupboards general direction. Sawenah looked to the healer and to the chest and to her panicked disbelief she couldn’t see what she was pointing to, “I-I… I don’t see it. Where?”
The healer groaned and placed a hand on her hip but a few paces away, “It says elixir… Mana Elixir; plain as day; I can see it from here…”Heat rushed to Sawenah’s face as she quickly grabbed a vial, praying it was correct and delicately closing the chest, clutching the vial tightly in her hand.
Catching a glimpse of the vial the nurse snorted, “Girl that’s a tonic not an elixir… The color isn’t even right!” she snatched the vial from the trembling and flustered Sawenah then yanked the chest open and swapped it out. Sawenah thanked the woman and began to scurry away when she was stopped by that harpy like voice again, “Tell you healer to send someone competent next time~” she snarled and returned to her patient, “Damned Halfling can’t even read…”Sawenah lingered there a moment in shame, but noting the necklace around her neck she knew she would return to good company. Slipping the elixir vial in her sachel she rushed to the food line and snatched up two bowls of broth and a few slices of bread before shuffling back to Takoda’s bedside, “Here. You need to eat something…” sliding the water basin aside she set the tray of soup and bread on the side table and taking one bowl for herself and finding the stalest of the pieces of bread she removed them from the tray, then delicately placed the tray on Takoda’s lap, “It’s not much for soup… but I tried to scoop out a few pieces of meat for you. Snuck passed the chef’s ladle for it too…” The cooks didn’t take too kindly to people picking about their food, and a swift swat of a ladle was usually enough to deter it.
Settling back into her stool she plopped her hardtack bread into the soup and held the bowl to her face. The broth didn’t exactly smell the greatest but the steam on her face felt amazing. She smiled and took in every bit, but when her bread had finally softened she made short work of the broth and slopped up the gooey mess that was her hardtack. As she went to set her bowl on the side table she remembered the vial, “Oh! I almost forgot…” Sawenah slipped her hand into her satchel and pulled out the vial the nurse had given her, “Drink this… It will hopefully help you not feel so woozy…”
‘That’s what those things do right?’ she asked herself trying to not let the panic show on her face, ‘They heal magic, right? I’d seen healers drink them all the time…’ tiny beads of sweat began to form on her face. It was bad enough she couldn’t see but a blur of the thing, now she couldn’t even remember if that is what they were used for or not.

Takoda felt rather foolish, after all his desire to heal shouldn't jeopardize his own health right? Still he always put others before himself so the fact he had gone ahead to heal Sawenah's feet wasn't something out of the ordinary for him. As she pressed a damp compress to his forehead he felt a bit bashful, but he only murmured his thanks as his head still swam from his use of magic. When the young woman disappeared scurrying off to get him something to feel better he was left his only his thoughts to comfort him. The shifter realized how lonely he felt, despite his earlier bashing of his failure as a healer he appreciated her company and concerns. It was nice to talk with her and he hoped that perhaps in the future they could talk again. Perhaps he could introduce her to his family, his mate and his sister and his nephews. Perhaps he was just getting ahead of himself but it was nice thoughts to think while he was alone. The girl wasn't gone all that long, but he had almost drifted off to sleep when she had returned. Jumping slightly at the sound of her voice her gave her an apologetic voice. Looking over to the bread and soup she had managed to gather for him. Truely touched the shifter went to sit back up and felt already out of breath at the effort. Chuckling as Sawenah ate her own meal with gusty he nibbeled at the bread and soaked some of it into the broth soup before popping it into his mouth as well. He looked to the vial being offered to him and he gave a small laugh before he took it from her hands. "Looks like you are very resourceful. To get food and an elixir to help me heal I am in your debt. " He managed as looked at the vials contents. Popping it open he drank half the contents before he offered the rest to the girl. "It will help you feel better as well. I already feel better with the food and what you gave me."

She blushed and shook her head, “I-I’m not necessarily under the weather… Just my feet hurt.” Unless that potion speeds up the healing he and Biroki have done, there is no point in her polishing off the vial, “Save it. I’m sure it won’t go to waste. After you’re up and well I’m sure harpy nurse over there will put you to work.” She muttered while hugging her legs to her chest to, resting her chin on her knees.
That nurse was rude and definitely startled timid little sawenah, but she had what she needed, so no need to rock the boat right? She was happy to see Takoda recovering some, it wasn’t the miracle cure she was hoping for, but he definitely looks better, “So you say you live in Tale? It seemed like a nice place. It would be fun to come see you again when I find it… I wouldn’t want you to have to guide me around. Suppose I gotta learn to take care of myself somehow.”
She fidgeted on her stool and began twirling her hair. She knew she couldn’t read, but asking for written directions seemed like the typical thing to do at this point… Perhaps if he wrote it and then read it to her… then maybe she reads it a few times to herself; the written directions would be more of a reminder of what he said, right? “Umm… So where do you live in Tale?” she asked while playing with the dreads in her hair.

The shifter was still nibbling on his meal when Sawenah described one of the healers as a 'harpy' and he felt himself choke slightly as he attempted not to laugh. Coughing he covered his mouth with his hand trying to clear his air ways before finally allowing him a small chuckle. Giving the young woman a smile as he gave a final clearing of his throat he explained that he lived in in a small settlement close to the Jahaur forest with his mate and family. It wasn't a big one so not many people had heard of it. "I would like you to come sometime, but even the strong sometimes need people to help them along. If you are even near Neued that is a town I grew up near. My mother was a healer and my father a warrior, both have passed on so I can understand your desire to want to be self sufficient. But never be afraid to ask for help okay?" Takoda emphasized as he didn't want to see Sawenah struggle to get by, life was hard enough as it was.

There was truth in his words, but asking for help wasn’t something she had had a rough time with in the past. Not everyone was so thoughtful and kind to people like her; hybrids. And even those who were made sure you were aware what kind of sacrifices they were making to support you and how kind and generous they were for even considering aiding you. Giving a nervous smile she nodded slowly to what Takoda said, “I will.”
After inhaling her meal she found herself getting rather sleepy; could it be a side effect of the healing she had? Magic was a mystery to her, but she could see she wasn’t the only one. Sawenah continued to sit with Takoda until his meal was finished, then she collected the dishes, “You look like you could use some rest, Takoda. I’ll take the dishes back,” standing she wobbled a bit before catching herself, ”Guess I could use some rest too~” Jayoku Should we start wrapping it up?

Shifting he nodded his head, noting that she was just as tired as he was and yet she had done all these wonderful and kind things for him. Offering her a small smile he nodded his head. "Yes you should rest, I appreciate all that you have done. Don't forget to come visit me sometime, I live in Tale now with my mate. So don't be afraid to come by." He managed before he tried to force a yawn to go away only to fail and be forced to cover up his mouth with a hand. "I better rest myself. Take care of yourself Sawenah." Takoda managed as he prepared to lay back down and get a bit of shut eye.
