Luxor pulled his punch as best he could, but still connected even without the intention of really hurting. He did, however, get surprised by the other knight being able to land a hit, nodding his head and backing up, holding his side and rubbing the sore spot thoughtfully.
That would bruise, and his out fit did not exactly hide bruises.
"That was perfect. Exactly what you want to do when you're fighting. With more practice, and focus, you'll be able to see those openings even in a real fight." He nodded his head seriously, thinking that they had at least made a little progress, and it was something to be proud of.
It was not easy to learn something new, especially something like this. If it was not natural, then it would never really be easy. Luxor had to teach himself a few skills that he had no real talent for, but with practice and determination, he had managed to get skilled enough at them to be content.

It was a little encouraging to hear that he'd done something right, though that didn't make the pain hurt any less. Ashur was sure he'd be sore the next day even though this hadn't even really been an actua fight. It'd take a lot of practice and a helluva lot more getting used to, but then being a knight that was supposed to protect innocent civilians from the Negaverse was bound to come with bruises and beatings of all sorts. No warrior-like character in any book or movie or TV show had ever gone without getting into any fights, after all.
He just had a feeling he wasn't the sort to take to fighting all that naturally.
"Got it," he said with a nod, though his fists were still up. Unless of course the lesson was coming to a close, but he could still keep going if it wasn't. In fact, he kind of wanted to; more practice couldn't hurt him, right? Either way, though, he was glad for his fellow knight's help and advice thus far.

_ p a o cx I think I'll wrap it up a bit so it doesn't go on too long, they can meet up again!
And he felt like Ashur was making good progress, so the longer they stayed out there, the better.
As more and more time passed, though, he knew they were pushing the limits on what would be beneficial to them. He did not want to over work himself or Ashur, after all, and didn't want them both to look battered and bruised come morning.
By the end of their training session, he offered the other knight his hand for a firm shake, nodding his head with it.
"I think you did a good job. We can train again, but taking a rest for now will be just as good."

Ashur took the offered hand and gave it a firm shake, nodding his approval of Luxor's plan to call it a night. It'd been long and productive, certainly more productive than he originally planned for it to be. He knew he'd have some bruises and some cuts as evidence of the work put in that night, but despite whatever soreness might come from this sparring session he was grateful for it. He learned the basics of fighting, which is saying a lot considering it meant he had more of a chance in the fights still to be had.
"Definitely," was all he could muster at first, before adding, "thanks for working with me, Luxor. Hopefully after this, and maybe another few sessions if you're still interested, I'll be more useful in a fight." A weak smile came of that statement, and it wasn't much longer before he was about ready to head home, aches and all.
It probably wouldn't be a pretty morning...but he'd live.Lithiasaur Works for me~! Thanks a lot. ^^

Luxor nodded his head and actually managed a smile, despite himself. He was a grumpy grump most of the time, but he felt good about the work they did, and the idea that he might actually have helped someone.
Even just a little bit, maybe it would make a difference in time. If it kept Ashur alive in a fight, after all, then it was a job well done.
"It's no problem. And I can help you some other time, if you like. I think you just use your signet ring or... I'm not really sure how it works. I live at the carnival on the outside of town so. You can always just find me there."
He nodded his head again, this time as a parting gesture, as such a movement was clearly multi-purpose. He backed up a bit, then turned to make his way back toward his home. He was more tired than he thought he would be, and the burning in his muscles from the work out made it feel pretty good.
Maybe there was something to this whole training thing. Definitely.
