At least they were on the same page there. "No friends. Never really cared to have any." Never really made the effort to make any. It kinda didn't work anyway, when you see others as beneath you. Friends implied being somewhat equal. "When I was in school and trying to hide my real life circumstances-" a defunct family and home, "-it was too risky to have friends. They'd find out. Then everyone would know that I wasn't as great as I was trying to appear."

"I really didn't say much when I was in school. Not too many kids even talked to me. I did have...one friend. She was really nice to me and we hung out a lot." He looked at the magazine spread without really looking at it. "But she went off to college and didn't talk to me much anymore. We just - sort of drifted apart."
He still remembered Tate with a twisting ache in the center of his chest, like a wound bleeding liquid nitrogen.
"But...I'm trying to find new friends now. I mean, I still have Paris...sorta." Even if Paris was getting married and might drift apart, too. "Met a few people in uniform. I guess that's something." He said, feeling hopeful he could make a few friends that stayed.
"And I got Sammy." He teased, looking over to the floor where the ferret was bounding across the hallway with something that looked like a sock form the hamper.
He turned, setting the magazine down and went over to check on dinner, turning the heat off and getting a spoonful to taste. It was good, but he took another spoonful and blew on it, moving over and, one hand under the spoon in case any sauce dripped, held it for Billy to taste test. "I think it's done."

Billy declined the taste test, taking Ladon's word for it...and now he also had something he had to bring up. "So, I got a letter today - Apparently I have an aunt to is running my grandma's old ranch. Apparently they heard about the house fire an' s**t," Ah, joyful arson...., "and they want me to visit. Flying me out there an' everything or a couple of weeks. But I wasn't gonna go unless I could take you with me." Billy leaned back in his chair and pulled the letter out of his pocket, tossing it on the table for Ladon. "It wouldn't happen for a few weeks, arranging everything an' all but, hey - it's a vacation."

Ladon frowned, biting into the wooden spoon and eating the bit of stirfry. He liked feeding Billy since he liked making him full and happy, which made Ladon happy. It was strange for him to decline a bite.
As he looked at the letter, he slowly looked up to Billy. If he hadn't wanted to go, he wouldn't have brought up the letter. Slowly, Ladon picked it up, looking it over but not really reading it. Billy had always been a vice when it came to his family and usually had a clear negative opinion of them. From what Ladon knew, Billy usually had the policy that if his family was out of his life, then that was fine.
Being invited to one of his relatives was a big deal, but he wasn't sure why Billy was bringing it up. "Do...you want to go?" He asked. He wondered if his boyfriend - no...his fiance, needed closure after the tragic death of his parents. "I would love to go with you if you want to go, but, do you think they would even want me there." He wasn't sure if Billy's family even knew he was with (and engaged) to another man.

"When I was there it was the only time I really had a family." He'd told Ladon before how his 'mother and father' had dumped him, as a newborn, with his grandmother, and vanished from his life until he was seven, when they took him back and came to Destiny City, only to promptly forget about him again, pretty much. All that was ever good about his childhood was at that ranch. "I think it would be good to go. And if they really want me to visit, they will have to accept you coming too." He wasn't giving them any room for argument on that. "So - wide open spaces, horseback riding, everything DC isn't... And I'm sure they've kept pictures from when I was there." Temptation of Billy baby and kid pictures, if nothing else, was sure to br the cherry on top of the whole thing for Ladon, right? MoonKitsune OMIGAD, life has been so busy cray-cray. @___@

It wasn't often Billy could talk about anyone in his family and not be upset, and Ladon smiled. He was happy that Billy had some good memories of family, and was more and more interested in the place and people who made Billy's childhood a slightly happier one.
"Oh, that sounds really nice." He closed the magazine and looked over at him. "Maybe they will met me take a picture to keep." He teased, liking the idea of a picture of Billy as a child. He couldn't even imagine it.
He looked back down at the magazine cover. "It would be nice to ...get away from everything for a while." From his recent lower rank and the heaviness of thinking too much on where he stood with the Negaverse and their ideals.

Yes, the Negaverse.... There really were times that he envied the knights - they had no one they had to answer to..and didn't have to work for or against the senshi if they chose. It was a freedom that would have been tempting, if not for the few things that kept him tied to chaos. This vacation was needed. To get away, if only for a couple of weeks. "I'll reply later then," Billy said, moving the letter to a safe spot. "SO, dinner~" MoonKitsune Can call this wraps soon? Vacation RP would be backdated to late May?

He smiled and got up, reaching to press Bily's bangs away and kiss his brow. "Alright. Alright." He said, and went to prepare dinner. Later, he would throw the magazine away. It wouldn't give him the answers to get closer to Billy. The vacation would.
