[ Mission ORP ] THE LONG ROAD HOME p.37!

Since a number of other text messages had arrived at the ungodly hour of 7AM, Abbi had become accustomed to waking at the time just to check her phone, even if normally she fell back asleep for a few hours more when nothing arrived. Today was not a lucky day unfortunately, though there was the option to just ignore the message altogether, but the prospect of some additional cash was enough to rouse the girl from her very comfy bed. She had enough reason to pack a cute bunny backpack full of what she deemed appropriate snacks (pilfered mints and bits of sugary confection being the main offenders) and dress herself before she shuffled her way to the field.
A number of people were already there, and look! Friends!

Abbi did not say hello like she ought to, instead opting to sit down near the equipment and doze off, nodding softly only to sit up straight for a moment and start the process of falling asleep all over again.

Jason hobbled onto the training fields bright and early, appearing as if he hadn't had much sleep at all. He had just done a shift of nighttime infirmary, and then had tried to get a few hours sleep only to be awoken of various nightmares of titans trying to eat him.

None the less, he was there, sleep deprived and anxious, but he was there.

Meanwhile Zanthvos was humming the theme of a certain anime involving titans, because someone had decided to channel their inner Allan and watched a few episodes. Needles to say, one of the duo like it, the other was petrified.

Deryk showed up. Thankfully after he had his coffee.

The text was received and Milo arrived bright and early, smiling as ever as it was his usual hours of comings and goings. At least when no weird dreamscapes were happening to prove otherwise.

The mission incentive didn't hurt either.

Oh hey, look! There was Noemi! And thus Milo veered towards the girl best trying to imitate a tree for some odd reason. He wrapped an arm around her small shoulders upon arrival, "mornin' Noemi-chan." He really needed to think of a toku nickname for her.

Noemi's best impression of a tree was failing her. She squeaked loudly as Milos arm took hold, and did her next best impression. Which was water. She was totally trying to slide out of Milos grip. Smooth like. Like she was waterrrrr.

"Noooooo Milo. Cannot keep touching so casually. Is improper for you and I." She tugged at his hand. "Also Buenos días. Is early for mission si?"

Harlow Rowan was in no way a morning person, nor was she really expecting to be contacted so early. She was, however, jolted awake by the sound of her phone going off in the early hours. She pulled her groggy self enough together to get herself up, make herself pretty and head out the door.

She held a bagel in her mouth as she carefully pulled her hair back in a bun as she approached the group of people. She reached her hand up to the bagel and chewed as she observed the others. She didn't really know anyone yet, and as far as she knew no one really knew her yet either. She stood up straight adjusting her backpack that was resting on one shoulder. She made sure to bring her snacks that was for sure, a bottle of water and a bag of chips were going to be good enough for her.

She stood, looking not awake but yet not asleep some where in between, and took it all in.

Stormy stared vacantly at Peyton for a moment before recognizing her, a hand stirring from her pockets as if to at least attempt a wave hello. But the moment Evan appeared near them, she immediately shrank back like a wounded animal, seemingly a shade paler. She wouldn't mess with him here, not even if they were grouped together. Instead she took to hovering closer to Gale, her shoulders hunched defensively.

Noemi was noted, but given the same berth. She was still nowhere near ready to accept either of their presences, even if neither were actively looking for her. She did not mean to see Ian, though the moment she saw how blank-faced he was, a fresh new wave of guilt went over her.

Naturally staying still allowed Noemi to become a target. Her head promptly became his new arm rest, as did Milo's.

"Yo," Jack greeted belatedly, still biting into his half-eaten bagel. "Either've you ever been titan crushing? Fun s**t."

Similarly, poor Abbi was awakened by a rather impromptu (if well-intentioned) pull of her backpack. "Up and at 'em, kid!" Nora chirped, letting her go once the girl could stand (or stagger) and beelining for Evan, given that she really didn't know anyone else there so far. Well aside from Gale, but his wraithy-girlfriend gave off odd vibes, and she didn't want to immediatey delve into whatever nasty mess that was. (Yet.)

"Morning." She remembered Peyton introducing herself as a fellow Sun during the tour and nodded to her as well. "So what's this I've been hearing about giants? I'm assuming I'm about to get a crash course in How to Hunter."

Aa, it wad cute how she was trying to get away from him but he couldn't understand what she found 'improper' about a good hug. They were friends, right? He stayed as he was, even if she managed to slip out, just didn't loosen his grip. Was a little hard to when Jack arrived anyways, seeming to trap them both.

"Nah, a bit normal for missions," he replied with a shrug, "though I usually get a good run in before. Aa well. Mornin' Green Giant." And thus now addressing Jack, "haven't since that one first one that ate me," he hadn't had a chance to really but was aware it was still a thing. Been too busy with other things.

The s**t eating grin was in place as leon rolled his eyes. "maybe I was too busy bench pressing it to eat it, if we're lucky, we can have a barbeque before it gets too late Dakota." he taunted the higher up hunter and idly poked at his side. I'm doing good, hope your not gettin' soft on me bub."


It was fun teasing again, being normal about stuff again, even in this unnatural way of life they choose.

Sin shuffled in, stifling a yawn behind his hand. Oh man, 7 a.m. was rough.. He felt the temptation to nod off, finding a seat on the corner of the field. Titans, eh?

Sin would feel a little tug on his sleeve soon. Saya's small frame was next to Sin's tall one, holding two small cups. She held them cautiously, as if they would drop any second, her expression friendly but grimacing in foretold danger.

"Here you go!"

The steaming aroma of coffee floated around the both of them. On Sin's cup was a small dinosaur drawn in blue sharpie.

"If you get caught yawning, Caelius might appear and .. er.. unfortunate events happen."

It was a zombie of his former self that shuffled onto the training field. Before was vaguely aware of other warm bodies present but he was having a hard time getting his mouth to meet the travel mug's opening for blessed coffee. And when he does manage it, he's not awake enough to realize it was still sealed.

Money was real important to Rep. Well not really Rep, more like Harrison. And there was still a huge debt that needed repaid. So when there was 250 dollars a pop being offered for killing things, Rep was there. Even if like everyone else, he was both tired and dubious.

Not wanting to just stand around this early, he spotted Leon sitting in the grass next to Dakota, and slowly walked over to regard him. "Morning, Leon." He said, at least okay with the man enough to be able to talk with him without appearing like a total stranger. While Melvin wasn't very familiar with Dakota, he still offered him a nod of acknowledgement.

Glancing about, he looked to the pile of gear on the ground. "Is there anyone directing this show yet?" Seemed rather neglectful to leave equipment just there in the open.

When he spotted Rep, he offered a wave. He hadn't spoken to the red-head in a while, and felt a bit depressed because of it.
