The smile that came over him when she said he was kind could be considered brilliant. He listened intently to her explanation of how she found the Khalasar, but when she returned the question he couldn't stop his ice blue eyes from darkening with the memories. He had found the Khalasar shortly after he had recovered from a nasty Kalona attack. The beast had been gryph blooded and those claws of his had cut extremely deep. The scars still marred his body but he hid them well. "To be honest Miss River, I sought out the Khalasar after loosing a fight with a gryph blooded Kalona... An Angeni saved me from the awful creature, but it left me feeling rather helpless..." He tensed at the remembrance of the awful night, "I wanted to help someone else the way that Angeni did for me, so now I am a member of the Queensguard..." He blinked wistfully and finished his tale with, "And it is a privilege and an honor to be a part of something this great."

Her cheeks darkened a little more seeing his smile. It was truly nice and she was glad to give him reason to do such a thing. But her eyes widened as he told her the honest reason why he was with the Khalasar now. And she felt her chest clench at having to make him retell the tale. "I... I-I am s-sso s-sorry to make you r-remember that." River said quietly, hoping he wouldn't be upset over it. "A-And it is o-our privilege to h-have you!" She added. Her head tilted thoughtfully as she glanced away, towards some of the other members of the Khalasar. "I-I wonder... if a-anyone... has a h-happy story here." She said softly, knowing that she had yet to hear anything 'happy' about why someone had joined the khalasar. But it wasn't her place to pry and she only had what she'd heard to base this off of.

"It's alright Miss River. The past is never without its fears and faults, and mistakes but its up to us to move past what happened long ago and not to dwell on it." Most of his scars were on his belly covered by the lighter fur. It was not unusual to have a Kalona go for the softer belly. Thankfully his sharper hooves knocked that thing back. "I don't truly believe anyone in this Khalasar had a 'happy' start, but in the end I do believe it will be glorious. Especially with Queen Daenerys on the throne." It was hard to hide the crush, or maybe it was love he had for the queen but he tried.

That was quite the wise phrasing indeed. She nodded slightly in agreement, though wouldn't admit she still dwelled on part of her past. But only because she wished to never see something of that sort happen again. "A-At least you are s... s-safe." River murmured with a smile. "A-And we are b-blessed with your presence." Her stance was relaxing again, even though there was still a hint of the darker coloring around her cheeks.
Perhaps someone else might have caught that there was strong feelings for the Khaleesi in his words, but River only smiled, a much truer one. "Q-Queen Daenerys i-is amazing. I-I... I am proud to follow her." She greatly looked up to the young Queen. And felt grateful that she had taken her in when River had been feeling lost. She felt more at home with the Khalasar than she ever had anywhere else. "P-Perhaps we'll all make h-happy starts here now." She wanted to believe this. Dearly wanted to.

Rhamiel laughed a little, more a slight chuckle than an actual laugh. He hoped River didn't take it wrong but the laugh was actually for the Angeni that saved him. He still didn't know her name. "I am indeed safe Miss River, and hoping to stay in one piece for quite a long time." His smile was genuine, "Haven't even had children yet. Gotta at least find love once before I go to the great beyond." He was hoping to make her happy with his silliness. Children... Ah the forbidden dream. A mare to come home to every night, children laughing and the sound of little hooves throughout his home. He sighed happily, "A happy start would be a perfect beginning to the life I dream."

She wondered for that brief few seconds if maybe she'd said something wrong when he chuckled? It was very possible and was part of why she tended to be on the shy and quiet side. But he didn't seem bothered by anything and River continued to give him a small smile. She blinked in surprise at mention of children and finding love. That... was something she had wanted. Still wanted. But she had no confidence in herself. And there was the small fear of if she would be a good mother or not? Shaking her mane in a nervous habit, River glanced back at Rhamiel. "T-That... w... w-would be a g-great new b-beginning." She agreed. "I-I feel like I'm g-getting my own." River admitted shyly. "I-I have... m-more friends then ever before." Not that she had too many. "A-And a b-b... better herd."

Rhamiel looked at River, his ears forward in a friendly way. "At least we have the Khalasar to call home. Children may come eventually." He looked away at the lake nearby, an almost wistful look came over his face. "I have had the worst luck with love to be honest Miss River. Several crushes and half loves have come and gone, but not a one turned out right." He was speaking of course of his love for one of his old herd mates. She had snubbed him badly but still wanted to be friends. It was part of the reason that he left and ended up in the fight with the Kalona. "I am sorry Miss River. I don't mean to be so heavy minded. Love is just something that weighs heavily on my heart and mind." He smiled happily, his ice blue eyes crackling with the joy he felt. He didn't want her to feel his sadness.

Now that, River could truly smile at. Yes. They had the Khalasar to call home now. And it was a feeling she could not explain with words. But she felt more at home now then anywhere before. "Y-Yes. We h-have our home w-with the Khalasar." And maybe he was right? Maybe, one day, children would come. Though as Rhamiel spoke again, she felt her ears fall a little and those thoughts dim. "I-I... I'm s-sorry. For w-what you must have g-gone through." She murmured, though she was happy to see him smiling.
"I-I haven't i-inter... r-ruptted y-your duties checking the h-herd, have I?" River asked, suddenly seeming to realize how much time she'd spent speaking with the stallion. Why, this was the most she'd ever spoken to anyone! Aside from Dark Side.

"Please don't dwell on the thought of failed love. I believe that someone as beautiful as you will have no trouble finding love." He had tried to shut his mouth sooner, but the words had just come streaming out. 'Damn it... I am going to end up scaring her off, I just know it...' He shook his head and listened intently as she asked if his herd check was being interrupted. Grasping upon the reason he stated, "I was taking a small break from my rounds to take that drink, so sadly I did get a little distracted." He smiled guiltily, "Would you care to join me as I finish up for the night?" He cocked his head with an inviting look upon his face.
Kyrieko Thank goodness my muse decided to come back.

And there was no stopping the flush that rose to her cheeks once again, or the wide-eyed look of surprise that she gave him before ducking her head shyly and looking at her hoof. He really did think she was pretty? That was something new and River wasn't sure how one was supposed to respond to that. Not that she could currently formulate a sentence. "I... I-I... I w-will t... t-try not t... t-t-to dwell." She barely manged to get it out so one could understand her. Her stutter was in overdrive now! Her tail curled around a leg in her shyness, cheeks a darker grey. River tilted her head up a little, feeling bad for distracting Rhamiel. Except he was asking her if she wanted to join him! "... I-I-I... I w-would l-l... like that v-very much." She murmured, a smile sneaking out. Wasteland Wyvern Yay! =D Also, omgosh Rhamiel! River is just like, ;u; thankyouwhyareyousonice

He watched as she became very shy, lowering her head and curling her adorable tail around his leg. He was beginning to be able to determine when she was uncomfortable and when she was just shy. He liked it when she was shy. She did the cutest things. "I am glad you will not dwell on thoughts like those Miss River. They can cause such sadness and do not deserve to cloud your mind." He smiled happily as she took his invitation to join him on his rounds. It would be nice to walk with someone just once. He usually did his rounds alone. Nighttime had settled in around them and he stumbled once or twice on hidden rocks in the grass. He frowned a little at the pain in his hoof when one rock cracked against it smartly. He had been paying attention to both the herd and his round partner and failed to notice the rocks. "Please watch your step Miss River, there are hidden rocks everywhere it seems." He lifted his frowning lips into a smile just for her.
Kyrieko She is so adorable in how she acts. Rhamiel is falling for her hard!

River had to agree with his words and shoved such thoughts aside. It did no one any good to dwell on them. And besides, she had this... sweet stallion keeping her company tonight. Who had asked her to walk with him while he completed his rounds. This was both kind of exciting and a little nerve racking. She'd never really bothered to see what the herd guardians did during their rounds. And Rhamiel was making her feel like a little filly all over again, which was a strange new feeling.
"O-Oh! I-I will b... b-be careful." She stammered, looking down at her large hooves. It was in her nature to be careful where she stepped and graceful due to her uni blood. She'd not stumbled. But she smiled in return, peeking up at the stallion again. "T-Thank you. F... F-For keeping... m-me company." Wasteland Wyvern Dawwww >w< And so sorry about delayed reply! ;; My muse has been... off and on.

"Good, I am glad to know that you will watch your step. Those rocks can hurt badly if hit just right." He smiled at her and walked forward boldly. He'd never had any real trouble while on herd patrol. Most nights it was quiet, though in the aftermath of the Kalona attack quite a few others were up tending to the wounded. Most offered him a nod to let them know there was no trouble. The night was just reaching its climax when a howl tore through the night. His ears perked up and his head swiveled towards the sound, trying to determine if it was a threat or just a lone wolf or coyote singing in the night. When several more howls answered the first he laughed and looked at River, "It seems the wolves deign to offer us a lovely song as we walk this night."
Kyrieko If you'd like we can bring this RP to an end and then set up another one for another time during the day?

His smile made her cheeks feel warm yet again, and she let her gaze fall to her feet. Each step she took was with tiny hesitation and quick checking for small critters. The rocks barely moved under her surprisingly light step. Passing by some of those healing had River frowning slightly, wondering if she was maybe being selfish walking with Rhamiel when clearly there were those that couldn't do so as easily. But what more could she do for them at the moment? "... I-I do hope... they h-heal quickly." She murmured to the stallion, letting her gaze move from the injured to him again.
When the sound of a howl filled the night, River stopped abruptly, ears swiveling forward and a nervous look flickering across her eyes. She looked towards Rhamiel, waiting for him to determine if it was a threat or not. His laugh was answer enough, but she still felt her heart beating a little harder. "S-So it... w... w-would seem." She said with a small smile, sticking a little closer to the stallion. Wasteland Wyvern I think that would be perfect! biggrin

Rhamiel could see the look on her face and while he couldn't figure out what she was thinking, she gave voice to most of it. "I think everyone will be just fine. The kalona did a number on us but we did the same right back to him." He moved closer to her, his downy fur just brushing her side. A reassurance mostly, but he had ulterior motives of course. His smile became a mischievous grin. "They must be singing of your beauty Miss River. For who could come across a wonder such as you and not sing praise for it." Sadly their night was coming to an end, his herd duties finally complete. The grin died away from his face as he was loathe to part from her, but had his other duties to the Queen. "Well Miss River, sadly our night under the stars seems to be at a close. You should find some rest while you can, and I must see if the Queen needs anything." He walked her to a soft area covered in grass and smiled. "Goodnight for now, and I hope we get the change to speak again soon."
Kyrieko Sounds good. Go ahead and make River's good night post and then we can PM and plot how they will encounter one another again?
