It was astonishing that some classes were optional to students, and Raven did not like that at all. Were her classes to be run in such a slapdash manner as well, with only some children showing up? Not if she had anything to say about it. The prospect of only teaching the truly interested was tempting in some ways, but allowing the others to get off scott free was not.

Then again, it was not as if spellcasting and physical education were on the same level. And in some ways, she could see that the "gym teacher" had a point. Anoki Kenelm would certainly not do well in a class that was intended for flyers, and would likely not fare better in one for swimmers. "I will keep that in mind," Raven returned. "Hopefully Anoki Kenelm will have the pleasure of your tutelage soon."

"N-no." No wings for him. Not that Anoki minded much, he was usually pretty happy with his appearance. The only time he'd really want wings was when he was falling, but he was even doing that less and less lately, partly due to his "grounding" since his injury. But that still meant less falling.

The offer of going up, however, was exciting. Flying without falling? That would be fun, and Anoki said as much. "T-that w-would be f-fun... s-s-someday."

Orpheus nodded, "I look forward to having him in class. I am hoping to meet all the children in some class or another." He said, crossing his arms over his chest. He was going through ideas in his mind, some sort of class that might draw the attention of the young Anoki.

Ligeia fluttered his wings, good. That gave him another reason to practice his flying. If he could learn how better to fly then he would be able to give rides to the ones that couldn't fly on their own. That would be a lot of fun! His wings flapped a couple times before closing against his back, "Will practice then so w-Eeee can fly." He told Anoki.

"As am I, Mister Solon. Although my class is not yet open I am already planning lessons, and meeting children and their parents." That was true, mostly, and what was fudged wouldn't hurt anyone. D-Corp had eyes and ears everywhere, and if they were listening she wanted them to get a good impression. "Does young Ligeia have any interest in the workings of magick?"

Maybe Anoki didn't have to be nervous. Most of the people he met were so nice. Maybe having wings meant that you were nice. Ligeia and Earako and Paxton all had wings. But Indi was nice too, and she didn't.

Was EVERYONE nice?

If they were, he would have to work a lot harder. In truth, people being nice to him only made Anoki more nervous, in an effort to compensate. He didn't want to let anyone down. Besides, his mama always said to do his best. Usually she said to do better than that, but he was still working on that part.

"I c-can..." What could he do? He wanted to do something equally nice, but nothing came to mind. There was nothing that he was particularly good at, and the longer the silence became, the more unhappy Anoki looked. His head drooped, and he pulled both of his arms in close to his body. Maybe he couldn't do anything.

"To tell the truth I am not sure what he would think of it. I wasn't aware that there were magic classes or that they had the abilities in it. I will have to talk to him about it. I am sure he would have fun with it though." He said, he would was sure that Ligeia would enjoy such things with as often as he was buried in his books and from what he had seen that seemed a big part of magic. Well in books and movies anyways.

Ligeia sort of bounced around in play, curious about what it was that Anoki could do. His wings fluttered behind him, "What? Do what?" He asked, sounding quite excited to hear what it was. It wasn't a secret was it? Oh, some sort of secret power huh? Neeeeeat!

"I see. Often aptitude can be difficult to detect at such a young age. However those without aptitude who have sheer determination can make up for it in many cases. Of course, the cases where one person has both are extremely powerful, but also rather unusual."

Raven didn't even notice that she was digressing into a watered-down form of one of her lectures. Talking about such things was second nature, and even a small spark of interest was enough to fuel her.

Anoki sniffled a little. The fact that Ligeia, who was so cool and could fly, sort of, thought he could do something special only made his realization that he COULDN'T do anything special worse. "C-can't d-do anyth-thing," he whimpered softly, half-hoping no one would hear.

Orpheus couldn't reall recall anything that would say that Ligeia had some sort of strong magical apptitude really. No accidental setting of things on fire or anything crazy like that. Maybe he didn't? The red head gave a sort of 'hmmm' sound as he thought then shook his head, "I suppose that time will tell huh? Then we will both see if hes into that sort of thing."

Ligeia shifted in place, dark eyes widening a little bit. Wait, what happened? He seemed to have made the other boy rather upset? He closed his wings more tightly to his back, then his ear tufts fluttered some, his ears picking up what had been said but he wasn't sure what to say, for someone to say that they couldn't do anything, how did one respond?

He flapped his wings then crossed his arms a moment in thought, "Maybe... Ahh... Maybe Anoki will b-Eeeeee better with other things? Like with dragon?" He asked him, maybe he would excel in Dragon Training? Or that thing that his Daddy and the lady were talking about? Or maybe something else, "No ev-Eeeeryone needs to fly."

It was pretty clear to Raven after she finally stopped to listen that the man was either ill-educated about what she was talking about, or simply didn't care. She suspected it was both. And while at other times, in other places, she might have taken the time to teach him a few things, that day she wasn't in the mood. There were still things to be done, and besides, it wasn't as though she was being paid to do this. Nor did Orpheus look interested enough to Raven's critical eye.

"Yes. Well, I suppose we shall."

And just like that, things got a little better. That was right, he didn't have to fly. Maybe he would be better at things with his dragon! That idea excited him. He knew that he was going to get an egg soon, but what kind it was he wasn't sure. Maybe a black one like his mama's, or a green one like the plushie Mahou had given him.

There was still a small pocket of insecurity in the back of Anoki's mind, but he ignored it. "Y-yeah. G-gonna g-get my d-d-dragon s-soon!" And then, a wonderful idea came to him. "M-maybe somed-day w-we c-can fly t-together!"

"That's enough, Anoki Kenelm," Raven chided. "Your voice is carrying. Please keep an indoor tone."

Orpheus looked over at the two children then back at Raven. He gave a little tilt of his head then lifted a hand to adjust his glasses. He felt as if maybe he'd annoyed the woman somehow? Odd, but then again he was sure that it was possible. Women were one of those things that should come with instruction manual but didn't sadly.

"Yes! Yes our dragons can meet too!" Ligeia said excitedly, wings flapping quite rapidly at the idea of the two dragons, Anoki, and himself getting to play together. It would be so much fun! "I look forward to it."

And then he just stood there and looked at her too! Dealing with men was impossible, and not worth it half the time. Raven rolled her eyes as subtly as possible, then took a step forward. "Well. It has been a pleasure, Mister Solon, but I'm afraid I still have business to take care of, and I'm certain you do as well. Come, Anoki Kenelm."

"N-now?"

What did he think she meant, in a hour? "Yes, now." To Orpheus and Ligeia she was slightly more cordial. "Have a good day."

His arm was being tugged at, but Anoki struggled briefly. "N-nice t-to m-meet you! B-bye-bye?"

Ligeia gave a little pout then hopped over stand next to his father, hugging his wasit then waved, "Byebyes Anoki!" He said, waving to him.

"It was good to meet you as well Miss Raven, Anoki." Orpheus said, waving then looked down at Ligeia, "Shall we? We still have classes to set up for."

Ligeia nodded then they headed off down one hall while Raven and Anoki went down the other leaving both pairs to go about their business. Ligeia though seemed to be quite excited now, feeling as if he'd accomplished a lot in getting over his shyness to approach the boy and talk to him.
