Riley wasn't stupid. It hadn't taken long for this guy to get his game up. I mean, sure, he wouldn't last much longer, but he had improved throughout the battle.
She swung her sword again.

He might actually be able to even this out then! Feng grinned at the girl and held Shang's head in his hand. The weapon began to spark like lightning was running across it, and Feng threw it at her again. When it hit her, it was going to be a nasty shock.

With that final swing Feng felt his fear shield go down with a painful snap. He held up his hands, backing away from her quickly. "It's over, my shields are down. We're done." He was panting and sweaty, but he was pleased with the way he'd managed to come back int he end.
Feng harrumphed and walked back to the girl as he caught his breath. "Thank you for sparring with me. You're really good for a trainee," he said, then widened his eyes. "I mean, you're good in general, not just as a trainee. I'm sure you're good compared to lots of people."

Riley suddenly felt a wave of helplessness come from the guy she'd sparred with. She couldn't help but feel bad for him. She sighed, and faced him, letting her sword dwindle back into the shape of her necklace, putting it around her neck.
"Yeah, thanks. You're actually my first spar. So I wouldn't know if I'm too good, or not." Riley said, as she caught her breath. She felt like the wind was knocked out of her.
She shrugged. Wasn't her problem.
"I'm Riley, by the way." She said, as she turned and walked away. She'd be on bedrest for a week, if her body would let her.
