Nergui was a spot of darkness near the back of the gathering. Slow to have joined the rest, reluctant to draw attention to herself. She was not nearly as well put together as she usually appeared; silver hair unbound, attire simple, and the veil that had been given up some time ago had made a reappearance. Gauzy material draped down and along her back and in familiar falls across the right side of her face. All that lovely lace held in place by a touch of gold in the form of an intricate clip. No doubt one of Bastion's creations.

Quietly she listened to the Ancient as he spoke to them, but every harsh snap seemed to reverberate through her mind, and the jumps, the skips, whatever was at work here played havoc with what was already so terribly fragile.

She did not feel like the proud priestess of Death she had been only a few weeks prior. A shadow of herself, she didn't belong here. She didn't belong anywhere.

With us.

The murmuring voices whispered it, mismatched eyes closed, a hand raising to press to her temple. She had seen her friends, those lovely figures standing tall and strong among the gathered clansmen, but she mad no move to join them. Unwilling to answer any questions that might come up.

The War Executioner opened his eyes to peer around him, seemingly on edge at first though he soon settled down without a word when he took in the familiar sight that was the Lost Clans reserve. He was asleep and he had a dream. Yes. A really long dream in which he was a Gryphon who served the Red Queen and made a promise to a White Caterpillar despite them being on opposing sides. He hadn't forgotten about that.

Casting his gaze to his surroundings yet again, he began to puzzle over what Death was going on about as well as how he had ended up here when he could remember retiring to his abode the previous evening. He couldn't have remembered that wrong... could he? His gaze eventually settled on a hooded figure in the distance and he sat up a little more when he realized that it looked familiar.

Could it be...

He was beginning to look a little hopeful as he simply stared at the figure for a bit then gathered up the courage to make his way over. "Don't suppose that this seat's taken..." He was pretty sure that it was her but it was still better to play safe lest he was mistaken and inadvertently made a fool of himself by jumping to conclusions prematurely.

He rested his hand on Aisa, idly.

The world stopped, just for the Heir of Death. For a second, Aisa could see something else, wrapped all around them, around everyone, and especially the Horsemen of Death. It looked like tiny filaments, a spider's web. It looked like everyone was wrapped around in hundreds of spider webs.

Everything stopped, except for Death himself, and he turned to look directly at Aisa and then raised a finger, signaling a quiet shhh-

- As everything returned to normal and the growing pile of maggots began to writhe excitedly.

"How much do you trust me, my little protege." he began, handing her a shaved apple. It was filled with maggots.

Snap.

The sound that had been in her brain as she took in a deep breath. It was a welcome change to actually step out into the reserve again. As Iyari was enjoying the brief moment of relaxation her eyes caught sight of something.

Or rather the lack of something.

Lurching back the War horseman launched herself over the railing and landed, moving closer to the growing crowd. Curiously she regarded the figure and let out a small snort as he began to speak.

Snap.

It was that damn sound.

Iyari crossed her arms as he droned on, moving away from some of the others and giving a sharp look as the maggots fell, regarding the Ancient with a continuous curious gaze. It was a casual speech and his concentration was apparently unbroken as he continued. She fought hard to avoid an eye roll.

Well, maybe not hard enough as the green eyes rolled in her head and she gave a small smirk. How nostalgic. She thought to herself as her mentor's voice filled her head and she nodded, snippets of her own adventures in the human world coming back to her. Though the smirk remained it pained her to hear it from Death of all things. Death, who was telling them not to kill.

It was strange to say the least.

She supposed there was nothing left for it, it made sense and, while irritating, what else could be done? She smiled and shook her head, holding back a laugh. At least it would be something different, different is what she needed now. Glancing to the rest of the crowd she wondered if there was other War around that she might wreak havoc with, otherwise she could test her own skills.

War was good for chaos after all, and chaos was good for FEAR.

Soren didn't have anything to say, he was a man of action.

So he eyed the other clansmen, sizing them up, before heading out to scare some humans.

It would be so much more fun to kill them.

Snap.

Wrath woke up with a headache, and that damned sound was not helping.

Snap.

With a groan, and a hand pressed to his forehead, he rolled off of the furs that made up the bed on the floor of his tent, and pushed himself to his hands and knee's, and then, staggering, to his feet.

How much time had he spent with that famine alchemist last night? The one that had promised to brew him a drink like none he had ever encountered before? He couldn't remember, and that meant the answer was, obviously, far too much. Now, his head throbbed, and his body ached, and something was making the most grating sound he could possibly imagine.

He went outside to investigate, fully clothed, his hair loose from it's usual ties.

What he found was not what he was expecting. Death himself, with a gathering of horsemen to hear his words. Wrath listened with rapt attention, his face it's usual stoic mask, his eyes dark. Scaring humans, but not killing. The concept was still, as of yet, foreign to him. But it was...understandable. If that was what Death wished then he saw no reason to go against those orders.

Looking around, he studied the nearby faces, wondering if any that he might recognize would stand out to him, though it might have also been interesting to take on this little task with a group of strangers.

Naturally, when Death gathered the Clans for something, Nkosazana, who was of Death and was especially a Priestess of Death would never think of doing anything else but obliging.

Even if Death was doing some strange thing with ... apples and ... maggots.

Ew.

She listened to him quietly, finding herself a place to sit and listen to the goings-on and what exactly Death was asking them to do. There was a vague question that came to her mind--where exactly was Medea?--but that was overridden by her concern with what Death was telling them to do and those annoying snapping sounds where were those coming from they were certainly rather distracting--

Maybe if she did what Death asked, that would ... stop. Nkosazana rubbed at her ear, looking around. She wasn't very, uh, good at this scaring thing, though. At least, not as good as some of the other Horsemen. She had spent a lot of her time in trance, not gathering FEAR, though perhaps this was a mistake of their old ways--

Was that who she thought it was?

It was good to see more former members of Death, even now, continuing to come to the Clans, though perhaps she just had not noticed his arrival. She wasn't necessarily outright looking for people she had only met so many times.

His eyes swept over the crowd of those gathered, but stopped when he found one that was looking back at him. A woman, one that was...faintly recognizable, he thought. A slight frown etched his features as he stared back at her for a long moment, before moving towards her, long strides taking him to her side almost immediately.

"Hello." He rumbled, as eyes flicked down her form, and back up again, his thoughts scrambling as he struggled to remember how he knew this one. Wrath did not have a poor memory, however. Not generally, at least. However, if he thought that he might have known this one, and if he could not quite remember how then.....

"I am sorry but, have we maybe spent an evening together at some point, Priestess? Perhaps when I was a little out of sorts?" Her answer might well give him insight to just how intimately he may have known her...once.

Shame if her answer was yes. That was something he would have probably liked to remember.

He noticed her too. It was probably inevitable, considering the way she was studying him. What she didn't necessarily expect was for him to come over and join her--though perhaps she should not have been so surprised. Recognition of anyone was still a pleasant surprise in the Lost Clan, whether they had regained some of their numbers or not.

"Hello," replied Nkosazana, bowing her head to the Death Clan stallion that stood in front of her. He seemed to be pondering over something, and she watched him, wondering what he was thinking about that would start with an I am sor--

Oh.

Oh.

Nkosazana's eyes widened slightly, and she murmured, mostly to herself, "By the clans..." That was a little presumptuous, wasn't it? He was assuming they spent a whole evening together? That was rather embarrassing. She never really thought much of anything of the sort, and she'd like to assume that if she did partake in such activities she would at least be more memorable than that.

There was a moment where she stayed silent, but it was a shorter one than the time they were staring at each other. She returned with a, "Not exactly, though I think you may have wanted such a thing to happen." There was an almost uncharacteristic quirk to her lips, amusement in her eyes.

She wouldn't take such an assumption without some form of revenge.

He caught the murmur, and he instantly jumped to the conclusion that he'd been wrong, his eyebrows rising as he held up his hands in apology, the steel claws that adorned the thumb and forefinger of each hand glinting in the pumpkin sunlight. "I was not meaning any offence, priestess. It is just that you seem oddly familiar, though not in any way that I can strictly, er...recall." He explained, now embarrassed by his presumption.

Of course, then she had to go and say something like that. His hands lowered, and his eyebrows furrowed in a frown. Was she suggesting that he had tried to...and that she had....

She had refused him???

Okay, he supposed it wasn't as though that were unheard of, but she didn't need to be so...well, amused, for one.

Still, to his credit he remained fairly composed, reaching up a hand to stroke at his beard. "Perhaps that is what I recall, then. Apologies again, priestess. I hope I have not disturbed you, now or any time previously."

At least when he was sober, he could be polite.

"It did have a certain air about it." Aeron agreed, moving to stand next to her. In that world, it had been easy to sip tea with her, to ignore the small chatterings of the teacups and its occupants.

Here, he was just a death guardian, to be respectful of the other members of the clans.

He so badly wanted to at least touch Lan once, settling for brushing her hand gently with his and then moving it quickly away, as if it burned. He had to remember his place after all, such fancies were foolish for himself...and for her.

"It seems I have brothers loitering here." his chin turned up at Wrath and who he assumed might be his priestess. It wasn't hard to tell the clans apart. Death had many furs and dark monotone clothes and looks.

The embarrassment had been a relief, sure, but to see the way he seemed to pause before he realized what she had been suggesting was satisfying.

Good. Maybe next time he wouldn't come up to a mare and ask if they had met by sleeping together. The nerve--

Though honestly, Nkosazana was not really mad. The horsewoman barely had a mean bone in her body--in fact, the closest thing she had to a mean bone was probably the one she had just shown. When the stallion offered a repeated apology, Nkosazana could not help the soft giggle that escaped her lips, still amused but obviously in a lighter nature. "Perhaps next time start with something not about rolling in the hay," she murmured, a light smirk on her lips.

The smirk faded very quickly into her genial smile, a very light one that even melted away the amusement on her features.

"Apologies accepted. Though, infraction or not, it is good to see a fellow clan member." Nkosazana patted a spot near where she sat, though notably stretched her arm a tad--he could sit, but not too close. "You should sit. Perhaps we should formally introduce ourselves? It is important to know your allies these days."

Even if they were occasionally salacious allies.
